Photoshop

This has happened before - I open Photoshop and I get the error message that PS couldn’t load the actions and then they are now gone.  Please tell me there is a way of recovering these.  I generally back them up every month or so, but I had just created a couple of new actions last week and I haven’t backed those up.(I am so sick and tired of this program glitching and either dumping the actions or dumping my keyboard shortcuts that I have set.  I have saved my custom workspace before and EVEN THAT is getting dumped at random, for no reason.)

I go through the steps in Settings → Privacy and Security → Full Disk AccessI click the + icon and look for Photoshop 2026 and add it but it does not show up in the list of applications with full access.There are 12 applications with full access including Photoshop Beta, Lightroom Classic, etc.Why can I not add Photoshop 2026?

Hi there, We frequently upload and export images to our e-commerce website, and we use a specific naming convention for our products, such as "J.1.MJ0565-1," which includes multiple dots. When I attempt to use the Export As function, it duplicates the entire name every time. However, my colleague encounters a different problem (see attached screenshots) where they have to manually copy and paste repeatedly, resulting in inefficiency. We have compared our settings, but we haven't been able to identify the source of the issue. Could you possibly assist us? Thank you!

In the Color Picker tool, Photoshop presents the Lab values of colors if you type in the RGB or HSB values. I doubt Adobe goes to one of the color conversion websites to get the Lab values. Does anybody know the formula they use to calculate it? Scott

I have a MAC operating system. During the previous Photoshop update, I canceled the update after five hours of updating. As a result, the entire program was removed from my computer, which means that I lost all actions and Brush tools. Of course, I spent several hours reinstalling the brush tools and actions. The whole thing happened again during the last update. I contacted Adobe for help. An Adobe employee connected to my computer, found no errors, but unfortunately the issue happened again when he canceled the update and everything had to be reinstalled. Does anyone else have similar problems? If anyone has, how did they solve them, if that was even possible. In all likelihood, Adobe has problems, and then we customers are wasting hours trying to get the program back or upgrade it with all actions, Brush tool.Branko Teršek

I once encountered a situation where the original JPG image was very clear, but after one modification, I directly pressed the shortcut key, Ctrl+S， There is no prompt for cooperation.But after the book was printed, it was found that the image was very blurry, and the ultimate reason may be that the default option for storage was "quality 5" or below, but there was no warning about this.You may not believe it, but sometimes when you save a JPG, the default "quality" pop-up may not necessarily be the highest 12, it could be 8 or lower.This is terrible. Is there a way to make the default Ctrl+S save JPG with "quality" set to 12 and "format" set to baseline ("standard")?

Issue summary: Since Photoshop 2025 (exact version unknown, but after 25.12.4) direction-based brush strokes, when set in the brush settings (Shape Dynamics - Angle Jitter - Direction), are not working properly. The very first 'pixel' of nearly every stroke is angled about 90 degrees perpendicular, before correcting itself immediately as the stroke continues. This breaks a previously working workflow. The problem is only mitigated by using external stabilisation (I’m using Lazy Nezumi Pro with light smoothing), which suggests the issue is related to how initial pen input samples are handled at stroke start. I also ideally need to have 1% smoothing enabled in Photoshop, or the bug can lightly reoccur occasionally. Using older Photoshop versions avoids the issue, but this is not a viable long-term solution due to other compatibility and stability concerns. I’m trying to create a half-drop pattern and need the Offset filter to work properly. However, when I use Offset on a smart object, the smart object gets cropped.I need it to stop cropping so I can create the pattern correctly. It seems like a bug, because if I manually move the smart object outside the canvas, it doesn’t crop. It only crops when I use Offset. Any suggestions on how to fix this. 

I have a question, how to practically work with Paint Bucket tool.  For example here, I have the outline and I would like it to change to black. However it is not capable to change it smoothly. Usually I don't have the advantage of being it on seperate layer for color overlay.   

Hi All,Do not append “copy” … NOT working! - Do not add “copy” checked – still one copy added to file name every time.- Do not add “copy”  unchecked – copy copy (twice) added to file name. I tried it with "Legacy Save As" on and off – no difference. All that only when using an action I made: save as > PNG > save > closeWhen saving as manually / without action it works.I made sure the action reflects exactly the manual process Any ideas? Using Mac OS, I am manually creating an Instagram Reel in Photoshop by stacking multiple images as layers and then converting them into frames using the Timeline panel. However, despite following the correct steps, I do not see the option "Make Frames from Layers" in the Timeline panel menu. Additionally, the "+" (Add Frame) button is missing. This issue has occurred multiple times. how do I get rid of photoshop 2026 home screen? 

There seems to be a new bug(?) when pasting objects in layers from InDesign to Photoshop. When I have objects on certain layers and I paste it into Photoshop, for some reason the layers get reversed.I’m including screenshots of a test showing the pink text is infront of the green text in InDesign, and when pasted into Photoshop as a vector graphic, the layers getting reverse. The only way to resolve it is to group the items in InDesign which I prefer not to do as it adds yet one more step.I use this function a lot and it’s the first time I’ve come across it.I tried a copy/paste from Illustrator 30.5.1 to Photoshop using the same idea and I didn’t experience the same problem.InDesign 21.4.1Photoshop 27.8.0Mac Mini 2024 - Sequoia 15.7.4 

I used shortcut to set color on background but it didn't work. It didn't error. It just simply didn't work. I seriously need help. 🥺

Layers not showing up in web photoshop at all in any projects 

I tried to write letters and numbers like d01f22 into color picker hex field but it kept erroring and I hear a sound like "beep". I don't know what to do please help me

I updated to Photoshop 27.8 today and am encountering an issue where the layers panel is recording multiple steps for a script despite that script using activeDocument.suspendHistory() to collapse everything to one step. Specifically, the script runs an action on each selected layer, so the history panel shows “Action: Action name” for each selected layer, plus the suspended history name. I don’t remember what it used to say when actions were run, but not that, and there’d definitely only be one step if suspend history was used. Okay, after typing that I figured out the issue. There’s a new setting called “Create a single history state” under Actions > Playback options. Turning that off restored my preferred behavior. I’m still going to post this though, because for anyone who does like this new behavior, it still seems like a bug to have it override .suspendHistory()
