Photoshop

Hi guys,   I am using PS 2023 and I really don't want to update as I don't wany ANY of the AI tools etc. Anyway, when I load up PS my home screen is completely blank. I have tried every fix I can find and nothing is working and it's very very frustrating.    I have renamed the UXP, CEP and Extensions folders in all manner of orders and still nothing.   This is really annoying and seems like a problem I shouldn't have to deal with.    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm trying to figure out how to save settings to a particular tool. I would like to save settings to the smudge tool. When I hit the smudge tool I would like it to default to a brush that I made and to an opacity of 10%. It seems to do this on its own after I use it for a while for some reason, but with each new update it defaults to the old method of giving me a round brush with 90% opacity. How can I fix this?   Thanks

Hi,I'm a beginner when it comes to Photoshop, so I have a problem because I can't make a straight diagonal line with a brush. When I try to do this, I get strange bold lines ending in a sharp tip.Is it possible that the pen I'm using for the graphic tablet has some bug and is not allowing me to create normal lines?I am currently using XP-PEN Deco 01 V2 tablet and Photoshop 24.2.

Olá para todos. Minha primeira participaçção com uma dúvida.Sempre usei os pinceis em máscaras, por exemplo. Nestes casos, ajustava o tamanho do pincel e sua dureza. Assim, na tela, sobre a imagem, podia modificar seu tamanho usuando ] ou [, muito útil quando se quer pintar ou mascarar alguma coisa, com precisão. Aconteceu que, de repente, isto não tem sido mais possível. Na tela só aparece o pincel como uma cruz (+)o que me impede de dimensiona-lo como antes. Já tentei de tudo para corrigir isto, sem sucesso.  Alguém poderia me ajudar ?Grato  

This has suddenly started - a black box (some times white )appears over the top of the image & obscures what Im doing. Its not present when I save the file - only when Im trying to work on it. I cant see what Im doing to the imageHelp !!James

Hi, I work on v large psb files - think 25k pixels by 30k, w/ layers and masks. I have a 2019 iMac that I want to keep because of its excellent 5k screen.Here is my setup 3GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5Radeon Pro 570X 4 GB64GB 2667MHz DDR44Tb SSD2Tb scratch diskTo further improve the performance with v large pictures, I bought an external GPU, a SAPPHIRE Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6800 16 GB GDDR6 memory (the Radeon Series 7 seems not to be compatible)enclosed in a Razer casing  The card is recognized by the Mac, all good here. However I have the feeling it's not used at all by Photoshop. In Photoshop/Settings/Performance it continues displaying the internal AMD Radeon 570 card w/ 4 Gb, not the eGPU 5700 with 16. When looking at Activity Monitor and using Camera Raw, Perspective Tilt, Liquify, I dont see any usage of the 5700.  To be absolutely honest, I brefly saw some activity on the eGPU, see snapshot, but the bulk of the activity seems to always be a

Randomly my brushes stop being centered in Photoshop.  Usually happens after some sort of update.  I've tried resetting the brush settings.  Closing Photoshop and restarting and it will not correct.  It doesn't always off center in the same place either. Sometimes it's to the left, right, top or bottom.  Here is an example image and an image of the brush settings. Please help! Thank you!

I have to click so many places now to get to the color i want. It used to be that if I wanted an orange I can select that color range on the right and the intensity of it on the left, now I get these really light color selections and I have to click who knows where to get the color I want. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The only reason I keep Photoshop now is that it works with PDFs better than anybody elses program. Photoshop gets worse by the day.

How do I fix the issue in Photoshop with my spacebar not working correctly. I have updated and restarted everything on my Mac and Photoshop and no other applications are open or running. But when you wanna type text and you wanna put space in between your words the space bar will not work it just jumps up to the top by the fonts

Hey, I have the following issue: System: Windows 10, CS6 Design Standard Steps to repdroduce:- Have CS6 Standard installed on a PC for multiple years but Acrobat Pro stopped working recently- Deactivated CS6- Installed CS6 again on the same (!) PC- Activated CS6 via account login (QR code). First Photoshop did work.- After restarting Photoshop it complained that too many PCs have been activated and I should activate again. Acrobat works fine btw. Feels more like a killswitch than an error by me. As the support don't want to help. Any sugestions on how to solve that? I have still access to both PCs on which CS6 had been installed. But when I tried to deactivate on the second PC to solve it for the first PC, I got the same issue. Thanks!

Hello Ps users. Some help please. I am looking for a course, website, platform etc. where it's clearly explained WHY is done a certain step, technique, method etc. when it's done in a Ps project. I have see many YT video tutorials, more Udemy, Domestika, Phlearn, even Adobe (I believe they are very superficial) etc. videos too, but nobody explains in any certain project, ''We do this because ...''.  Just memorizing the steps from a video, tutorial, one by one, without knowing/understading WHY are they used exactly then, it's just so unefficient I think. It's a not a food recipe. Any tip is welcome. Thank you All. 

With recent update "apply to all" when saving stopped working. Active file is saved and closed and that's all. It was introduced one update before current one (26.6) and wasn't fixed.  26.6.0, Windows 11

When importing text using Data Sets, the top text layer's font size changes when applying the data set. I have tested this on multiple documents, on different machines (Mac and Windows) and I am having the same issue. The problem is that we have templates that have the same design copied up to 12 times and so the font size being different on one means we can't use that file and have to re-design it.The only work around I have found is to make another text layer and hide it but this would have to be done on hundreds of templates.This is a big issue for me and the company I work for as we use automation to personalise orders, and we have to redo designs after they have been through the automatic process which can take a lot of time on some days.

This is a recurring problem. I have reinstalled Photoshop but this continues to happen. It is a very serious issue. I need to get my settings back. And all of my patterns and colors. I have not made any changes to the app whatsoever but when I switched it on today, ALL of my settings and saved patterns etc are GONE. I can't afford to keep losing work like this. The last time this happened, the agent removed all trace of Photoshop from my laptop and it was reinstalled from scratch. This has happened AGAIN,

I am ingesting RAW files with Photo Mechanic 6 from SD cards used in a Sony A7R camera and adding IPTC Metadata including Descriptions, Keywords, locations, Credits and other fields. I then use Photo Mechanic to select and rate the images with Colors and Star ratings. Then I select 10-20 images at a time to open in Photoshop. I use Camera RAW to tone the images, then open in Photoshop to crop and Save As to jpg as an edited folder for further use. After many years of this workflow working well including in January 2025, the Metadata is missing in Photoshop and does not appear in Bridge. I am using the latest MAC OS on a Macbook Pro laptop, and updated Camera Bits software and the latest in Creative Cloud apps. I asked for help from Camera Bits and they inspected sample files and reported that the problem is in the Adobe software. 

Serious problem...  more than a week my PS2025 doesnt start.  I use MAC.  I get always this message:  "Could not initialize Photoshop because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered."Ive tried everything also reinstall the program and no success.    Do you think Adobe will continously charging our CC for this program or better cancel the payments?   Sorry, but I'm very upset. 

Hello,I’m using a printer who has requested I use the GRACoL2006_Coated1v2 profile https://www.color.org/registry/GRACoL2006_Coated1v2.xalter but have also requested that I keep the total ink coverage below 280%.I am using Photoshop. If I batch run the GRACoL2006_Coated1v2 profile on all the images what would be the best way to then reduce the ink coverage without altering the other settings? I have 244 images to adjust.I can see that I can use a Custom CMYK setting to change the total ink coverage but I’m concerned that this will alter the other settings? In that case should I use curves instead?  Thank you in advance.

I am using Windows, and I just installed Photoshop. After saving my work, I went to print the image, but the "print" was greyed out. The laptop is connected to the printer, because I was able to scan the image. But how am I able to connect the printer to the program? Thank you.

I created an action whereby I save a .psd to a .jpg as follows:            Go to File “Save As”            Change from .psd to .jpg            Choose Save            Choose Image Options: 12 Maximum            Choose “OK”            Close file And the action works fine EXCEPT for one thing, it adds “copy” to the name of the file.  If I do all of the steps in the action MANUALLY the name of the file remains the same with the exception that it changes the extension from .psd to .jpg So to clarify if I am saving an image with a file name of “Black Horse running” and use the action the image file name changes to “Black Horse running copy. jpg”.&n

In Photoshop, a Smart Object has it's rotation value stored, I'm wondering if it's possible to get this value so as to copy and paste it to another selected layer so I wouldn't have to do this manually every time.  So, in summary, is it possible to make a code that copies the rotation value of a Smart Object and then another complementary code that would paste that rotation into another selected Smart Object Layer?  

Dear Forum, I attach herewith a photo of a corroded surface where some pits may be regarded as a "noise" on image.There are some standardized charts and when doing an assessemnt of a corroded surface one tryies to best match the sample corroded surface to standardized chart. I have a question - is there some kind of an option withinh PS (including its AI module) to make a best match ? Or kind of assess the density of pits?And also another important question  - having a ruler on the photo next to pitting - can PS evaluate the size of pits automatically?

Hallo zusammen,Ich benutze Photoshop 26.5 mit Camera Raw 17.2 auf meinem MacBook Pro von 2018 und MacOS 14.7.5 SonomaSeit einigen Tagen habe ich folgendes Problem:Nach Bearbeitung eines Fotos mit Camera Raw in Photoshop und anschließendem Speichern sowie Bearbeitung eines weiteren Fotos in Camera Raw ist die Menüleiste komplett blockiert/eingefroren. Es ist mit nicht möglich, das zweite Foto zu speichern über die Befehlsfolge im Menü „DATEI-SPEICHERN…“Ich muß Photoshop beenden, das Foto erneut aufrufen, bearbeiten und kann es dann mit „DATEI-SPEICHERN…“ sichern.Ich habe gelesen, dass das Problem bereits in der Community beschrieben wurde. Hi, I need help when typing anything. Montserrat in particular, I cant write anything normally it automaticly uses glyphs and I cant find a way to solve it. Thius is only happening in phortoshop, in illustrator it works normally.     {Thread title updated by moderater}
