Photoshop Elements

Why can I not have JPEG format as default  instead of PSD format when saving ?  ( I allways keep the RAW file as well)

have elements 2024 where is the search button, search funtion, search for a picture.... I've been going around in circkes with the BOT chat thing

When importing photos from my phone to PSE, they used to go to my list of folders in the order of the dates. I hadn't used the PSE for a while, and now, it is putting them in as a sub folder of an older date. I don't know why they are kept separate from the other folders on the bottom.  (Please see attached file.)  On line, I have not been able to find out how to fix this issue because it is difficult to explain.  A picture shows it better. I'd also like to know of a paid site where someone could log into my computer and give me personalized instruction on how to organize my pictures. Looking for PSE information on line has been an extremely frustrating experience.Thank you.

I tried to incrementally update my catalog and somehow I lost all photos when I open elements.  I tried to restore the catalog but Elements wants me to find a .tly file.  I searched my hard drive and couldn't find one.  How can I get back my photos and albums?  I am using Windows 11.

On my new Mac in elements 24 it dose not show the picture in the downloader, just a blue thumbnail?

I purchased Photoshop Elements 2024 (version 24.0) in December for my new MacBook Pro M3 Pro Silicon. I have never been able to install it. Initially the OS was Sonoma 14.2.1. Now it is Sonoma 14.3.1. I have re-downloaded the installer (Photoshop Elements 2024.app) several times but it remains identical to the one I downloaded in December (cmp in Terminal). When I run the installer, it says "Sorry, installation failed. An unknown error has occurred. (Error Code: 1)". I paid for it and I would love to get it installed and running.

Are there any known issues with PE2024 & Mac OS Sonoma?I have just updated from PE 2020 running on  Mac OS Ventura, and seeing there have been issues with Photoshop and Sonoma , I am leary of upgrading to Sonoma.What has  been your experience?

Hello:I just downloaded Elements 2024.  I assumed (yes, I know what is said about "assume") that all my photos from Elements 2022 would transfer over.  I saw the pop-up asking me if I wanted to convert the files from Elements 2022 to Elements 2024, and I clicked "yes."  When I went to view the photos in Elements 2024, I saw that there were photos that were missing.  They're all in Elements 2022, but some are missing from Elements 2024.  It appears that the only photos that transferred over were the ones that I edited in Elements 2022 and saved in jpg format -- the photos that were in raw format did not transfer over.  Thankfully, I did not uninstall Elements 2022.What did I do wrong?  How can I fix it?  Thank you for your help.

In some maps no miniatures of some photos are shown. The can be seen in the maps on de harddisk without a problem. If I open in Organizer the photo for editing in the Editor, there is no problem to edit the photo. If I save the photo it still cannot be seen in the Organizer as a miniature. Even when I copy the photo if a different format, or copy in windows the photo an import it in Organizer it wil not appear as a miniature in Organizer. What is going wrong what did I wrong?

I am using Photoshop Elements 2024 and I am unable to find the PDF Presentation function. My File -> Automation Tools is greyed out. That is the location that I suspect it should be located. I am using Advanced mode.

I recently purchased a physical copy of Photoshop Elements 2018.  I installed from CD and would like to use Organizer to view, edit,and organize my photos.  I have attempted to import photos from a single folder (with many subfolders) on my Windows 10 PC many times.  For the first several times, the import window would do its thing, count the files imported, and otherwise look like it was working, but on finishing, Organizer would only show the message "No media available. Click 'Import' to add media" in the main window.  This happened no matter how many times I imported photos.  My settings were all fine - showing all files, "All Media" was shown with no signs, viewing all media types.  I tried creating a new catalog, closing and reopening and restarting.I then gave up for a few days, and opened Organizer again recently.  Now, a VERY small subset of photos shows up in Organizer (none of the images in the parent folder, and only 3 of 42 subfolders).&n

I'm running APE 2020 on Windows 11. I'm having an issue with Photoshop Elements when I try to backup my catalog (Full backup) I have a very big collection of photos (about 20,000). When I try to start a backup I get the standard "Please wait while Elements Organizer prepares for backup" and then.. nothing. I've waited as long as an hour and a half and finally forced a close to PE. I have plenty of room where I choose to save the backup. Is my collection to big to be backed up?  Anty feedback will be appreciated.

I have been using Photoshop Elements 2024 for a few months without an issue. Recently I am getting an error message when I want to create a new blank file (A4 @ 300 pixels/inch resolution).  I go File>New>Blank File. The error is,"Could not create a new document because Photoshop Elements cannot open High Dynamic range (HDR) files. HDR support is available in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and later."What is happening?

I am using PSE 24 in Windows 11 23H2. I recently downloaded a small collection of animated emojis in MOV format. These MOV files imported into the Organizer with NO errors, but they display like this: When I double-click on one of the thumbnails to play it, I get this message: These MOV files play fine in Win 11 using my default Media Player Classic Home Cinema app. This is the MediaInfo v23.11 detail for one of the MOV files. What codec do I need to install in order to play these MOV files in PSE 24 Organizer?

I am not proficient in PE but have been able to work through the steps I need to update my photos.  I photograph and edit photos of items to be posted for sale.  Most the items in the photo use the central part of the image and I would use the Smudge Tool to make the background look nice and close to the subject.  Took some time but worked great.  The Smudge Tool would be able to get close to the subject in order the make the background look clean.  Lately, the Smudge Tool does not produce an enlarged circle for dragging through the space to be edited.  I retains the shape and size of the icon (pointed finger).  The system would enable me to enlarge the size of the brush stroke using the size -- did not have to fiddle with the brush.  Now it is just doing a small dot and I have been able to work with it but it is not as quick as it was.  Something happened to change the functionality.  Probably something I did but can't find.  Woul

I upgraded from 2020 AD elements to 2024.  For activation,  it's asking for a serial number and there are 6 boxes.  My serial number is 24  characters long.  Is there another way to activate?  The confirmation email also list my serial numbers as 24 characters.

The original NIK collection was added to PSE 18. When first opening an image in PSE 18, there would be a NIK drop down in the right side panel. However, if the NIK drop down menu is to be retained, I can not delete, nor minimize, that first image. Let's say that I've opened PSE with an image, and then keeping that image and adding othe images to process; if I were now to delte or minimize that original image, the NIK drop down menu disappears. However, NIK is still available via the Filters button. I sthis the way it is supposed to be? Thanks.

I have Photoshop Elements 2023. I run Windows 10. I want to move all my photos from my d: drive, a disc drive on my PC, to my h: drive, a disc drive on a networked NAS. I will leave the catalog at its current location on the c: drive. I made a backup of all photo folders and the catalog. So that the catalog and PSE isn’t corrupted, in PSE Organizer I dragged folders from my d: drive to my h: drive. For the most part this went fine. Because I couldn’t find a means to move multiple folders at a time, I moved each folder one at a time. PSE can see the photos on the h: drive. I successfully moved 80 folders. Several of htem have subfolders. I ran into a problem with 4 folders, 3 of which have subfolders. When I tried to drag these folders from the d: drive to the h: drive, a window displayed saying something about “media analysis.” As I recall, I clicked “OK” since there was only 1 button available. I proceeded to move another folder. After moving all folders, the 4 folders

When installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019, it says I can turn off data collection in perferences.  Under preferences I don't see where the option is to turn it off.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was trying to look at all pictures for a particular person that were organized and grouped through facial recognition.   In trying to do this, I received a message that this person was being removed by Elements from the People Group created by facial recognition and I had no way to stop the action.    Now the pictures remain for this person in my catalog but they are no longer associated with the person.  This detached over 3,600 pictures from this person that were previously grouped with facial recognition.  Is there a way that I can run facial recognition and have it associate all pictures again with this person.    I did see there is way to reset facial recognition and run it again but that would seem to wipe all previous work I have done to identify people and it would force me to start over from scratch.    Can I run facial recognition without losing previous work in order to have it reassociate pictures with the person that was

I've had nothing but troubles with HEIC format images from my iPhone and Photoshop Elements 2022.  I've installed the various converters (HEIC/HEVC), and PS Elements 2022 can load the images, but then face analysis or thumbnail generation hangs, followed shortly by Elements itself. I can *reliably*, 100% cause PS Elements to hang by trying to rotate a HEIC format image. Is PS Elements 2023 any better? Does it work better on Mac?
