Can I save the gradient I created with a Gradient Map node and reload it again in Substance Designer?

How to make this fractal like effect where each smaller part comes from bigger like branches 

Hello, I am trying to achieve the fabric pattern from a piece of south Indian silk fabric. I am having trouble achieving the effect as shown in the images attached but I am having trouble doing this. I used a bitmap of the peacock to make this fabric. In my efforts, the peacock looks like it has been printed with a gold film rather than stitched with gold silk fibers. I had followed a tutorial on youtube about creating an old fabric. Any help would be appreciated.

I can open 3D Designer but then I get the 205 error 15 to 30 seconds after opening.      

I am new to 3d design and have a basic question. I am trying to extrude text. I was able to extrude a curve primitive 

The "3D VIEW" is showing a preview of the entire Substance window instead of the actual 3d view.  I have tried Scene > Reset, disabling post processing, reinstalling, rebooting.  Nothing causes the 3d view to show anything but a scaled, upside down view of the whole window.  Attachments show what I'm seeing. How do I fix this?

Just read the small print and checked, that's huge would have been my headline statement but suspect I'm in minority 😉  I've been pretty vocal about not having access to at least that part of the automation tool kit outside of enterprise and it's great to see it included now so thanks for that, made my day 🙂 will start testing moving over from my old automation toolkit version over coming weeks. At some point as we scale I'm going to want to run sbsplayer and sbsbaker in some sort of container environment / cloud so will need to figure out how to get an automation server licence somehow, would rather run it on linux as well, but for now I've got windows workstations that can run fast enough so that's great! I think you rarely get thanks from what I can see, so wanted to put it out there 🙂 Other updates look good as well, great to see some more 3d mapped noise options out of the box. Mark

I really appreciate your attention.Currently I have the challenge of making the following fabric My level is intermediate and what I have achieved is this.   My goal is to come up with something realistic, but I have no idea how to do it. I would appreciate it if you would share with me tutorials, tips or even charts of similar fabrics that could help me.   

For the life of me I can't figure it out. I love how the amount of these jigsaw pieces is high at the bottom and tapers off in number nearer the top, but I can't figure out how to do it in designer 

Hi, I would like to use Substance Designer in my current python pipeline but even if SD python library is available in the tree directory I need "designer.dll" file to create a context to work. I found a topic by adobe employee saying that they are working on it? Is there any update on Automation Toolkit for Indies and Teams accounts ? Can we still subscribe to Allegorithmic to get access to this python api ?

As the subject says, i want to increase the number of pattern inputs in the tile sampler. presently it is limited to 6. is there any way to increase this?

I have a few graphs that I've made as utilities that I use as nodes in some of my material graphs, and I am curious if there is a way to read details about those inputs within a graph.  Specifically, I'm curious if it is possible to read the size of an image input into the node.  i.e. I have a a utility node that accepts a few single channel image inputs that could be of different size, and I am trying to write a function that can perform some calculations based on the two input image's sizes. I know I can do this by exposing parameters and just setting those parameters on the node when it is used, but this is rather error prone. If the size of the inputs changes the graph author needs to remember to go update these node parameters or else bad stuff happens. So, if I had 2 inputs in my graph like image1 and image2 that in a function I could do something like GetFloat2 on image1.$size Is this possible in a function? If not, is this possible in the python scripti

Really, all I need is the x:y aspect ratio, but I'd by happy to discover a way to get the size as well. The .sbs has a base parameter called "defaultParentSize" which is essentially what I'm looking for, but there doesn't appear to be a way to get it in the python APIAny help would be greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon,We're trying to ascertain the recommended output size of a graph with output size set to Relative to Parent when publishing sbs files.Our artists would like to specify a prefered output size in the graph toolbar: ...but capturing the size specified via the Substance Designer API is proving difficult. If the graph output size is set to Absolute, I can query the output size with this: prop = graph.getPropertyFromId("$outputsize", SDPropertyCategory.Input) size = graph.getPropertyValue(prop).get() But if the graph output size is Relative to Parent, the value returned is always (0,0). Looking through the XML code in the sbs file, the value I'm trying to capture is 'defaultParentSize' in the graph options. Is there a way to query this with the SD API?

Hello,I'm new to Designer and I'm trying to follow the car paint material tutorial on youtube and mine is different because of the various updates. One big thing is that I can't get the material to show up in the 3D viewport. Any help is appreciated!

Hi guys, I am trying to do few extra things in my plugin which will help me a lot with my workflow.I know how to load sbs by using loadUserPackage, how I can open specific package in Substance Designer?Is possible to change imported FBX file_pah using python? Currently it seems this is the only property which is read_only when changing annotation property value using Python. When I tried to change it manually it works just fine.Is possible to change Bake model information of specific FBX using Python? I have seen old post 1 - 3 years old which said it is not possible yet. So after 1 - 3 years I believe this should be possible now right? Just cannot find a way which might mean it is not possible - little bit odd it was not picked up?Related to above (Bake model information). Is it possible to load preset for Bake model information? So far it seems I have all other elements set. I am just missing the above options which will help me a lot to improve my workflow. Hi everyone, I'm quite new to Designer and I'm trying to figure out how to create this shape in the tile generator? (This is done roughly in Photoshop)...  As you can see in the reference photo below, every second 'plank' is offset consistently. Reference Photo Any help/advice on this would be great.Thanks.

I'm trying to improve my teams workflow and getting our substance files into version control is turning out to be a high priority for us.  I see that perforce used to be supported, but is deprecated in favor of the python api to allow users to handle VCS how they like. (Solved: Re: Substance 3d Designer Version Control doesn't ... - Adobe Support Community - 12223774)  We are most likely going to end up going with a pure git repo, git + lfs, or plastic scm. However, before we get so far as building against the python api, I thought I'd ask around if anyone has an existing solution (open source or otherwise).  I'm also curious if anyone knows of a diff tool that supports substance files. Thanks in advance!

I am working on a graph to build a texture atlas. I looked at Atlas Maker, which seems like it would be great, but it doesn't seem to handle my situation, at least I don't think it does. In my project, I have several graphs to generate different perfectly tiling textures for different parts of my models.  For example, I have a graph that generates a section of a wall that is 128x256 and I have another graph that generates a section of concrete that is 256x256, and another section of stone that is 128x64. I am generating an output texture of 2048 x 2048 and I'm trying to position each of these graph outputs within the overall texture output accordingly, without manipulating them any further.  i.e. I want to put the wall section at 0,0 and it should take up 128x256 pixels. Then I can place the concrete section at (0, 129) and it should take up 256x256 pixels. And so on. When I use the Atlas Maker node from the old substance share, it appears to treat the input im

Unity expects the smoothness map (opposite of a roughness map I presume) to be in the alpha channel of either the metallic or base map. Is there any way to handle this in Substance Player? Maybe a script I can run rather than having to do it manually in Photoshop? I use Substance Player for assets I download from the Adobe Substance 3D Assets. I can't seem to preview or export them in Substance Designer.
