Questions

I've 100+ layers. I can easily click it in the visual preview, but it's too tough to find every element in the layers panel by scrolling up & down for every other element. Isn't there a hotkey to do this?(not talking about type & search feature here)

Hello, for the last couple of months, every time I open After Effects I get this:  After Effects error: internal verification, sorry! {no current context} It's an especially annoying dialog since it give you zero info to do anything about it.  I have reset my preferences, rebooted my machine and opened all my files outside of AE to confirm they aren't damaged.  Not sure what else I can do at this point.  Mac Pro 2019 256GB OS 15.4.1. AE 25.2.2

I am trying to export a Mogrt with media replacement, which doesn't work with Dynamic Link. That's cool. I'm not using the C4D renderer, Cineware, or C4D files. I'm not even using 3D space at all. But I still get the error message -  "This Motion Graphics template requires Dynamic Link, which does not support Media Replacement controls. Please remove the Media Replacement controls or ensure that Dynamic Link is not required.The Following filetypes, renderers or effects are only supported via Dynamic Link: CINEMA 4D" How do I ensure that Dynamic Link is not required? 

Hi, can anyone share the upgrade from version 23 to 23.6.x for macOS or its installer? I've spoken to Adobe and they only give me version 23. My computer doesn't support v24, so I'm looking for the latest update to 23. Thanks for reading.

Hi everyone,I'm using the "For Each Layer" block in my script. What I’m trying to do is:Get the current layer's position.Add +100 to the position.Set this value to the next layer.Everything works fine except for the last layer. For example, if I have 10 layers, all 10 positions are set correctly, but I get this error: execution result: could not find object with path '11': layer 11 does not exist Because the script tries to access layer 11, which doesn't exist, it throws an error and stops the script.I tried using index-based logic to avoid the last layer, but variables don't seem to work properly inside the "For Each Layer" block.Has anyone solved this issue? How can I skip the last layer in a "For Each Layer" loop to avoid this error?Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,I’ve created an isometric design in Illustrator and want to animate it in After Effects to match the style exactly. I’m very new to AE and my goal is to make the letters extrude in and out smoothly I’ve been trying to isolate and animate just the front anchor points (so they push in and out over time), but I’m struggling to highlight or move only those points. I was planning to keyframe their position over time, but I can’t seem to isolate the front anchors on their own. Is there a better way to do this — maybe with a mask or a different technique? If I can get one letter working, I think I’ll be able to figure out the rest. Any help would be massively appreciated! Thanks!

Hello When I turn on the after effects program and turn on advanced 3d, the program crashes after I convert a layer to 3d. In the beginning, some kind of error came out. I just rebooted and that's it, I did the project. I just can't open it right now. a window pops up and says "you need to save before exiting", I did nothing with a new project...my laptop specifications intel core i5-10300H NVIDIA geforce gtx 1650 ti

Hello, I am unable to install ADOBE After Effects v23.6.9 on a MacPro 2013 (cylinder) purchased in 12/2019, 2nd generation, under MacOS Monterey v12.7.6, , Intel Xeon E5-1650 v2 6-core processor. Same with After Effects v24.0 and v24.1

Hi All, Having some trouble animating "teeth" on a chainsaw along the path of the chainsaw (Image for reference). I tried to copy the path of the chainsaw to the position of one of the "teeth" then auto-orient the shape, but it didnt seem to work, might it be I have the anchor point in the wrong position? I had the anchor point of the shape in the middle, then had it on the path of the shape itself, both did work. Any ideas? Defo missing something here. Let me know if more info is needed

When you animate the anchor point the object itself moves, That's shouldn't happen, what should happen is that only the anchor point moves, Why? so we can actually use the anchor point animation to make something, if i want to move the object i would use the position property not anchor point property Showcase: If i want to make a rolling cube, I can't just rotate then change the anchor point, No I have to make workarounds, Cause anchor point is moving the object

Every object is on its own layer. Saved with a compatible pdf. Imported as All Acceptable Files, Composition - Retain Layer Sizes. All of the layers appear as blank.

Hi there, lately I am challenging myself to step up my After Effects game. I really like the ghost trail that seems to be present in the video, but it's difficult to figure out myself how to do this. It also immediately gets very messy- is there a way to best manage multiple stacked effects?Cheers

I've made a text animation into a template so that it can be used in Premiere Pro.I've applied grid, cc vignette and spotlight to the adjustment layer.However, when I open the template in Premiere Pro, nothing is displayed except the grid.By the way, I didn't add a background in AE, but rather created a color matte in Premiere and then placed the template on top of that.

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700xGPU: GTX 1070 TiRam: 16 GBMost current version of AE: 2018 CCI have searched very long with no answers that worked. Ive tried moving the save file, from HDD to SSD, clearing cache, etc. The project have 5 gb of items in it, but no effects no nothing. Just like 6 10 second clips in a timeline.The problem: I save, or it auto saves, and it stops responding for a solid 3 minutes. Nothing is maxed out in my resource monitor. All of a sudden, it starts working again and saves basically instantly. Why is this and how do I fix it? Please help.

Hello, Lately, I've been getting into deep editing for Sports Videos as I'm currently producing a Local Football Show and helping some of my High School Football Players with Highlight Packages for their seasons. The biggest thing I'm looking to elevate my Production Value is the Motion Tracking that you see in Sports Broadcasts when the Analysis are drawing the lines that the viewers see on the screen when a Player is Circled/In Motion. When an object like a Ball is in Motion and all of that kind of fun.A fun one that I'm looking at is the concept of following a  "Thrown Object" like in Baseball when a Pitcher delivers the Ball towards Home Plate and you see that Motion Tail from the Ball when it's Released by the Pitcher and that Trail goes all the way through the frames to the point where the ball is Caught/Hit. Same is applicable to Football when the ball is Thrown by a QB or Kicked for a Field Goal./Punt. All these "Projectile Motion Paths". The others on

Hi, Is there a way to replace an image sequence in duplicate comp without changing it in the original comp? I have a comp with a image seqeunce setup which is used in a certain structure/setup. I would like make a duplicate to maintain this structure/setup but replace the image sequence for another sequence. When I replace the sequence now in the duplicate comp, it also replaces in the org comp.  

Greetings! I am very happy to see the 3D aspect of AE! I have been thinking about subscribing to the full version of Cinema4d. But I have a question about AE. Will or does AE 3D have the ability to render photo realistic animations. As a animation hobbyist I love doing "spacesci-fi scenes" with ships, space background, planets etc... OF course Cinema4D handles that many optional renderers. But Does AE render out with similiar level of realism? Similiar to RedShift or even the built in Physical Render in Cinema4D ?  Thanks for your help on this ! "Live Long and Render Fast" 

Hello, yesterday I just updated the After Effects because the new  "Create Nulls from Paths"  tool would help me to do what I was doing. And helped!So I worked for 6 hours, saving versions, with the autosave on, and everything was doing ok. Than in a moment a saved the project and closed the software to do another thing. When I tried to open the project again, it started to open, i could see the project window filling with my footages, but when it finished After Effects crashed. And it happened with all the versions and autosaves since I used the new "Create Nulls from Paths" tool.I tried to import a project to another, tried to open in another computer and nothing, i just lost my projects and my work. The only projects that still opening is before the after effects update, in other words before I used the create nulls from path.I thought that was a  incompatibility with the "Omino Snake" plugin that i'm using in the project. So yesterday i did a test: i opened the cc201

Hi there!I have a problem where After Effects keep switching to Mercury Software Only by itself without me switching it. Yes, I'm always using Mercury GPU Acceleration (CUDA). No idea why it does this and it's quite annoying.I tried searching around for solutions but I can't seem to find one or maybe it's just me who's encountering this.Any ways to turn this off? I mean the auto switching. I don't want this option or want this to happen all the time as it slows down my workflow.Thanks in advance!PS: Please see attached for more info or let me know if there are any other information that I should provide to get this fixed.

Ich bekomme ein Vieleck, ZickZack und irgendwas, das mit Uhu nichts gemein hat. Egal, welche Mal- oder Pinseleinstellung ich vornehme. Ich habe schon überall nach einer Lösung gesucht, aber dieses Problem wird im WWW nirgends besprochen. Was kann ich tun?
