Working on a project with a lot of image grid components. Sometimes when I copy a component, it reverts to the Lorem Ipsum text. Then sometimes when I have it correct in my project, it reverts to lorem ipsum text when published, but the text is correct in the project. It sometimes reverts to the text from the copy after I rename the copy. It sometimes reverts when I apply a different style. Now, when I cleared my cache, and reloaded the project, the project text itself reverted to the Lorem Ipsum text. It behaves as if some edits are kept in the cache, and never saved to the project. When editing, it shows the cached information.  Using Adobe Captivate 12.6.0 on Windows 11.

I’m experimenting with branching scenarios in Captivate, but the navigation is not smooth.When learners go back, sometimes it skips slides or doesn’t return to the right branch.I’ve added buttons with “jump to slide,” but it feels clunky.What’s the cleanest way to manage branching in the latest Captivate?

Hello Captivate community.I am running into the frustrating situation where a project which saves just fine all of a sudden gives me the error that I do not have permission to save the project any more:  I seem to run into this with big projects? Another client's project files sometimes do the same thing. If I "save as" and rename the project, it allows me to save in the exact same location! And then it might save once or more as I work, before giving the same error...I am working on Windows 10, Captivate Classic 11.8.3.8

I am trying to create a software simulation showing Excel, I created several simulations before without issues, but now is not screen recording every mouse click. Since I updated to the last version issues keep coming. Any ideas how to solve this problem.

I am currently using version 12.6.0.63 and I am having a problem with the Drag and Drop widget. Reading the messages, it seems that my defining image states for the drop targets (unfortunately necessary for this course) is resulting in the blank, "Something Went Wrong" response in preview. I have written to support about this, but I have not received any response. I could really use a workaround for this that will still allow me to reveal new information to the user.

My preview screen in the new Adobe Captivate, released this year I think, is saying "something went wrong!" every time I try to preview it. I'm currently using the Click to Reveal Widget. I have copied the slide, opened a new project, and replicated the problem. I opened a review and the content still displayed the same error message. I've included photos of the widget as it should appear in the preview as well as a copy of the message screen. Can anyone help me?

Hi All, I previously used Adobe Captivate 2019 and all of my saved projects are CPTX Files. Currently I had to change my laptop and the newly downloaded Captivate is the latest version. With this 2023's version when I open any CPTX files it doesn't open the project and also when I try to open any files through Captivate it shows that it only allows CPT Files(You will find the screenshot attached). Please HELP!!!.

Quick question — can we customize the default ‘Next’ button in Captivate to look like a flat modern design instead of the 3D one? I tried playing with styles but it doesn’t fully change. Any tips?

I’m working on a responsive project in Captivate and noticing that some text and images overlap on smaller screens.I’ve tried adjusting fluid boxes, but it still doesn’t scale smoothly.It works fine on desktop preview, but mobile gets messy.What’s the best way to keep layouts consistent across devices?

Hi, I’m piloting Adobe Captivate (version 12.6.0.63) on my Mac Pro M1 running macOS Sequoia 15.5 and running into issues saving projects. Every time I try to save, I get the spinning wheel and lose hours of work. Are there any troubleshooting tips or known fixes for this? Thanks in advance.

I am using the new Adobe Captivate 12.6.0.63 on my Mac with Sonoma 14.4.1On some slides I have added image status changes which are triggred by timeline bookmarks.On one slide e.g. each status change reveals more of the image (which is a process chart with 4 steps) while the narratior voice explains the process steps. In total there a 4 status changes for the image.However when I publish the course to SCORM and play it in a LMS or Scorm Cloud then you can seea short flash/flickering with each image status change. I am using pretty small png images, so the size can't be the reason. When I delete most of the slides and publish the course to SCORM with just 3-4 slides, then the image status changes do not cause a flash/flickering. I had also contacted the Captivate support, but they could not help me. The gave me the advice to rebuild the slides in a new course, which I did. However the flashes were the same.Anyone might have an idea what I can do?Best wishes and thank you Marc

I'm new to Captivate in general. I want to add a video progress bar/timeline so viewers know how long the video is and how far through the video they are. Think YouTube or any other video player. I don't necessarily want them to be able to skip ahead, but I want them to see their progress. For the life of me I can't figure out how to add this fuction, though I'm sure it's there.  All I see is basic play/pause and volume controls. 

I'm attempting to create a template in Captivate 12.6 that mimics one our team used in Captivate Classic. Previously, we made sure our monitors were scaled to 1920x1080 and the screen capture/project in Captivate was set to the same. Doing this allowed our users to interact with the Captivate without scrolling vertically or horizontally. We did notice "Create Scalable HTML" was a helpful tool with that.Now, with the new Captivate, I've played around with Using the Fullscreen, Application Window, and creating a Custom size, and in every scenario, when I preview it I have to scroll a little. When I upload it to our LMS I have to scroll a lot. I can use CTRL + and - to zoom in and out, but I can't ask that of every user completing training. Do I need to adjust my project size? Or change the display from fixed to proportional? This is also impacting whether or not the closed captions appear on the slide or off of it. 

On my slides, the text captions look perfectly aligned in edit mode, but once I preview or publish, some of them shift slightly up or down. Has anyone else noticed this? Wondering if it’s a font/rendering issue or something I can fix in settings.

I have a slide that uses the "introduction slide single option 1" format, with text and an image side by side. I've set the image display to fit and the image focus to center. The image displays fine in ScormCloud in Chrome but is moved to the right in Safari.Chrome Safari Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am using Captivate 7.  In 2006 I created many files using an earlier version Captivate that saved the project with .cp extension name.  I need to fix several .cp  projects.  Any I ideas?Anne

I'm a creative cloud user and just downloaded the captivate free trial. It keeps freezing and crashing and is unusable. I have a brand new Mac that is updated and says it's compatible.  i tried every suggestion I could find on these message boards and online. NOTHING is working. Even if I get it to open and begin working I can add one word to a slide and when I go to save it freezes my entire computer and I have to manually restart.  i also found adobe support is practically non existent and their AI chat bot is worse than useless. does anyone have a magic secret for getting captivate to function?  Please oh please I have spent my entire evening just trying to get this to work. 

Hi, I’m new to Captivate. I lead an eLearning team for a software company and I am looking to switch my team over to this authoring tool. I am attending the Adobe conference in Las Vegas next week. I’ve been trying to complete my pre-certification course, but I am unable to save any progress. I have the latest version of Captivate: 12.4.0.20I am on a MacBook Pro, M3 Pro Chip, Sonoma 14.7 OS If I open any Captivate file, I can edit it, build slides, do whatever I want within the application. But when I go to save the file, I just get a blue spinning wheel forever. If I “right-click -> quit”, the application does not quit. It’s just frozen. I have to go to my Mac force quit operator and force quit the app.I jumped on with an Adobe support agent who even did a remote screen share. He poked around, deleted and reinstalled Captivate, even attempted to change some root permissions which I think he was prohibited from because this laptop is a company laptop. He thought it may hav

Hello!I'm attempting to create a quiz question with custom feedback based on this video from Paul Wilson: Adobe Captivate Custom Question Slides with Personalized Feedback for Each AnswerEverything works the first time through and I set it up so at the end there is a screen that says they got X/4 correct or incorrect.The issue I'm running into is if they got below the passing score and need to repeat it seems like the variables won't reset? If the learner doesn't pass and then need to retake the quiz I have a 'exit slide' variable to reset the score variable to zero. It's set up for each correct answer is 1 point and an incorrect answer is 0 points. But when I test this in preview the variable never resets to zero when I try to go back and take the quiz.My best guess for why this is occuring is that the variables are linked to the radio buttons and there isn't a way to reset the radio button. This is the only explanation I can come up with. Can anyone think of another way to

Hi there, I'm encountering a pretty significant bug in Captivate 12 that could cause major issues in one of my projects. And yes I am using the most recent version of Captivate 12, and working from a local drive.My course uses the header for displaying the course title, as well as having a hamburger icon in the top right representing the TOC that the user can toggle on and off with instead of using the playbar.However, my course has become quite large (127 slides long, 493 Mb) and I noticed that for some reason the icon in the header is no longer visible... it is there, but it is acting like the color has changed on the icon. When I go to select icon to change the color, the program crashes and says "An unexpected error has occured, which may cause Captivate to behave unexpectedly. You can restart Caaptivate with Backed-up project." However, even starting it up with a backed up project, this error still occurs. It lets me change the text and solid fill, but any time I touched 'icon' it

Hello Again Captivate Community,I am back here again pleading for a Hail Mary with my project.  Hopefully I can explain it clearly.  This is regarding the 'new' (no longer new really ;)) Adobe Captivate.  I am using Version 12.2 because at the time of the 12.3 release, my project files became buggy and non-functional.  As a result of this experience, I am insanely hesistant about upgrading to version 12.3 until I finish this massive project (34 'e-Learning modules or 'episodes' in total) and release it.  Perhaps 12.3 has this solution to my problem.  My project has both pre-built question slides (programmed as graded quizzes) and custom slides that I created.  These pre-builts are not all located within one section in this e-Learning course.  They are broken up and interspersed with some custom slides I created.  This feature (this design) of the project is greatly desired; I am trying my best to work within those parameters.  This

I have an Adobe Captivate 12.6 - Matching slide with 4 options and 4 answers.When the learner first arrives at this slide, if they click submit, the ( Incomplete Flag triggers ) and they see the Incomplete Message  which indicates they need to answer the question before continuing. The problem is if the learner fills out one of the four options, and clicks submit without filling out the remaining options, they will get the incorrect Flag since the answer is wrong. Is there a way to keep showing the Incomplete message until all options have been filled out?Basically, forcing the learner to fill out the question requirements entirely before submitting.
