Hi, I'm trying to create a Text Entry Box that will 'refresh' on user submitting (hitting enter) for the duration of a video, but retaining the first entry variable,on a 2nd slide. ie user is to note timecode and type short comment, the users multiple inputs from the 1x TEB are to be stored on another slide. The possible number of comments are completely of users choice.  Would also like the comments to be assessed to potentially a 3-5sec window.ie if TEB entry started within 5secs of something happening onscreen. I have noted on other posts this is possible by having objects appear 'off-stage' and using 'if' statements. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in adv - Tracy.

Hi, I am getting this message on the screen. In the help I am finding some tools for this error solving.  I am changing adobeCaptivate.ini file adding Use32BitJVMForPublish = 1. The problem is not resolved. In the next step is mentionned : Invalid characters are present in text fields such as Project Information, Email, Description, Name, and Slide Name in your project. What characters should i look for as not allowed? Can you advice? I have more own courses. Some of them are with this error, some of them are working without problem. Thanks 

Hey, i am tryring to add an external Javascript library in Captivate (https://underscorejs.org/). I want to call functions from this Library in the Captivate JavaScript Window but I can reach the functions. I added the library like this:var lJSFiles = [ @JSFILES_ARRAY , 'assets/Underscorejs.js' ];

Is there any way to make a drag and drop interaction in Captivate 7 that does not require the use of the Submit button? I would just like to advance to the next slide once the learners drags the object into the correct position. This is part of a computer demonstration in which dragging and dropping is part of the way the system works. In the audio we ask the learner to click in on a certain object and drag it to a certain area. Or, can I change when the Submit button appears – for instance can I have it appear after several seconds have gone by? Right now it just sits there for the entire slide and there seems to be no way to modify it.

Hello, When I go to File>Record New>Software Simulation I get the following error. I can't find where the Display Settings are to follow these instructions. Can someone help by telling me where the settings are and/or how to fix this issue? Error: Capture is disallowed since mismatching displays were detected. Hello All, A SME was unable to complete a SCORM 2004 3rd Ed file, so I first replicated the issue in the LMS (Adobe Learning Manager). Next I went into Captivate and looked at the slide where he discovered the problem. The slide itself does not have anything unexpected in its objects, actions, etc. that would cause the issue, which is simply that when all of the 4 buttons with answers in them are not executing the "Jump To Slide" action they're all assigned (navigating to 4 different slides for particular-mistake-specific remediation). I removed all pauses from buttons, and rearranged slide orders to utilize the "Go To Next Slide" action instead of "Jump To Slide," even though neither should matter in theory. FINALLY, after a dozen guesses (and previews of the project) at different things it could be, I clicked the button with the correct answer in it (which is triggering all objects not be able to be clicked any more) and sat in frustration for about 30 seconds racking my br

I created a survey and have about six survey question slides set up.  I need help setting up an action where depending on answer that is given it goes to a specific survey question #. for example question #1 is a yes/no answer.  What setup do I need to do exactly where if someone selects "yes" in question #1 it goes to question #2.    If someone selects "no" it will then go to question #3 instead.

I have two old licenses for Captivate. Version 1 and version 3. I only need these versions as I don't use it often enough to warrant a subscription. These did the trick fine when I was using it. Where can I download these older versions?

Upon trying to open any CPTX file I was able to open with no issues, I can no longer open any files. Prior to uninstalling and reinstalling the Captivate, I was not able to open a blank project - I can now open a blank project.  Please see error below that I have already seen as I know it is not helpful given this has been brought up in prior posts and is displayed for many different issues. I have plenty of space on my computer, I save files to my computer that are also loaded and pulled down from a server. I also save files to and from SharePoint. All of what I do has never been an issue prior to today.  I have cleared my cache folder/files, I was on version 11.5.5 and ran the update. Since this update, I am still having the same issues and unable to open or work with any CPTX files.  Any help would be appreciated. I have been on hold for an hour on the corporate support line. Hi! Something weird started to happen with my source files, despite not changing anything in them or Captivate. We are using Myriad Pro family font installed locally in Windows. Adobe CC fonts are disabled. Never had any display issues. Now all of the sudden there's a pop-up "This project will now link to your Adobe Fonts account" when publishing and text captions containing variables get reset to some default (times new roman?) font. In the editor, everything looks fine. Regular Myriad Pro text also looks fine. I am creating a scenario based module for work that has a little helper guide in the top left-corner of the screen. If you click on the guide image, helpful text is shown along with an 'X' to close out the text. Easily enough, you click the X and that hides the helpful text +  close button. I have been using Shared Actions; the entire thing is incredibly simple.THE PROBLEM:When testing the module, anytime I return to the screen with the helper icon, one of the states of text will be visible on screen. If I click the helper icon, the text "shows" along with the X to close. When I close it, it all hides like it is supposed to.I don't know how to  fix this so the text does NOT appear when returning to the page. The shared actions are reading correctly, so I'm not sure what is happening here. 😞Does anyone have any insight? Has this happened to you before? How did you fix it?

Hello, I've created a simulation manually and published it in HTML. The mouse click effect is working in HTML. I can hear the click sound but no ripple effect when published in HTML. 

Does anyone know how to make the mouse click quieter? I like having it, but it's over powering the narration. Thanks again for any insight!

Interactive video was created using Adobe Captivate 2019 and published as HTML5.If you hover the mouse pointer over the playback bar of the published interactive video, you will see something like a slide number, as shown in the image.How can I prevent this slide number thingy from being displayed?Perhaps it is possible by editing the js file, but I am not familiar with JavaScript, so I didn't know.This text is using a translator and may be a difficult question to understand, but I would appreciate an answer.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

I'm relatively new to working with captivate and am trying to import a .wav file into a slide. According to a book on Captivate from Icon logic - it says that captivate supports mp3 files and wav files. It also says that that when imported, WAV files are converted to mp3 format. When I try to import a wav file I get a message that says "unable to decode and import the selected sav/mp3 file". Does anyone know how to address this? thanks!

I am working on a project for a client where we are creating a file in Indesign, then converted to a PDF. The client wants to host the PDF in their LMS - cornerstone. We want to log completion athrough a 'finnish' button, and I believe can do so by converting to a SCORM file. Has anyone got any experience of converting an adobe file to a SCORM file. 

It was working before, but I have no clue which settings I´ve changed for this behavior. Quiz and sending to LMS is enabled (SCORM 2004 V4)The course is asking for some VariablesBut NOT suspend_data and location.So the user is unable to re-open the course on the last visited slide.I cannot enable self-defined learning in the TOC, because I do not want the ugly popup "...do you want to continue".Does anyone has an idea? I am completely lost. Because it was working before. But not now.Thanks for your appreciated help.

Hello - I've Captivated 70+ slides, and reailzing I forgot to select advance slides automatically and instead selected 'on mouse click'. Is there a way to update this after I have already finished the course?

I've been updating courses into a newer training template design (both files are in version 2019). When I copy over text, slides with text, or quiz questions with text it causes problems with the new file. These problems don't show up until I saved the file, closed and then reopened the file. Once it's reopened all of the text in the whole project is invisible. I can see the text in the slide view on the left, but when I click on the slide it doesn't display any text until I click on the text field itself, then it magically appears. Also, when I preview the course all of the text is gone until I have clicked on every single text field in the course then I can preview it and the text will be viewable. Unfortuately this is not a solution because if I save and close the course, once I open it up again the text is invisible again and I have to click on every single text field. This really seems like a technical problem and it makes transfering slides a big pain!

Hi, I have read some of the answers but still have some questions about changing the font. I am a non-English speaker, so perhaps you could go into a little more detail, thank you very much. The software version I am using is CP 2019.For example, I would like to change all the fonts from Arial to calibri. All of my Style Name of text caption is +[Dafault Caption Style], next I select a text caption and change the font of the text inside to calibri, and selcet "Save changes to existing style". The next step is to select the text caption in the other pages and click on "Reset Style". So I still need to repeat the operation many times, do I understand correctly? Is there a more efficient way to do this?Thank you for your time!     

I was working through a Lynda course on Captivate when asked to Preview "from this slide." When I do, I get a blank, black screen with a spinning wheel (see screenshot). I've tried this both on Chrome and Safari. I've uploaded a screencast too if it helps. The weird thing is that it previews for some files but not others. Hello, I am trying to jump to different pages in a quiz from an external URL. Is there a way to achieve this? When I publish it online, it only has the index.html page and not individual slides to link to.Thanks

Hi,I am struggling with the function, that after re-opening course, captivate is always asking whether the user wants to continue with the course or want to start from the beginning.How can I avoid this message and always start with continue at the last point which is sent by the LMS? ThanksMatthias

I notice with Slide Videos you can control the start and stop point of the video, however I cannot find a feature that allows this with Event Videos. Also, you can only have one Slide Video per slide and I need a second video to play on the same slide. All of our video source files have a required leader and trailer that I need to skip over in Captivate. I'm guessing the solution lies within Javascript. Is there any way that you can control the start and end points within an Event Video?
