Hello! Dealing with a character design with non-circular eyeballs in Character Animator is pretty frustrating! Anyone have tips? This puppet has a normal and angry expression. The eyes move great in Normal --- not so much in Angry! (See below) I'd love the pupil range to work at an angle to follow the eye shape -- is that even possible? If not, I can always make the pupil range smaller for the angry eyes so they cover less distance. But I still have a main problem: My current set up doesn't allow the "Pupil Range" to change with the swap set. Is there a better set up? Or different way to control how the pupils move about the pupil range? My eye gaze behavior is on the puppet rig by default. See set up below. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.
When I click Ctl+E to edit my puppet, or even click on the AI icon, it does not open up AI. It instead just makes a duplicate of my puppet, with a loading screen that says "importing artwork". I tried it with another puppet and the same thing was happening, so it cannot be an issue with the file, but with CH. Please Help me to be able to edit my puppet in AI.
Hello, i've set up a character and pretty much it's working as i want, except for a problem with the sadmouth swapset which i think has it's remedy somewhere else, but right now i would like to know why there are so many problems in the Rigging Issues Area, all saying that some layer is not being used by any behaviours. What does that mean ? Should i worry ?
I really don't know what I'm doing wrong and would love some help. The only thing I've been able to successfully blend in multiple takes is head movements. If I record arm movements and place over a previously recorded walk cycle, the arm movements don't show up in playback. They do if I hide the walk layer. I think I can understand why this might be - it's a 3-view puppet, so when I'm manipulating the arms, I'm doing it to the frontal version, not the right profile version seen during the walk. So I figured I would export the puppet, import it as a new puppet into the software and then delete out the other views, leaving ONLY right profile. Not only did this not work (arms were locked?!?) it also seemed to delete these two views from my master puppet also, so I had to undo all of that. Every intuition I have about how this should work is wrong! Another thing I'd like to do is mix walk styles. For instance - I'd like the
Hi, My character's eye movements aren't working correctly. I copied the structure from an Okay Samarai character just added my own art inside the layers but I cannot get the eyes to function the right way. When the character looks in either direction the whole eyeball moves and the pupils aren't moving independently.
These appeared after I made some changes to my puppets, archives and etc, places in my computer (moved to a new folder) since I wanted to organize my stuff. When I open the program, it works - I'm able to access the puppets menu, and I can change the archive's path there. But if I try to make any change to some tag, the second error shows up - it keeps on working tough. When I try to access a scene or even make a new one, it takes me to the record menus, says that it's loading whatever asset I'm using on the scene but the scene panel remains blank like in the third picture. I think maybe this can be happening because when I was organizing my stuff I deleted some old folders and renamed others. One of them had the old error log and character data, maybe that's the one that is causing problems, because it can't find whatever it needs? The thing is that I deleted the folder, moved things and then restored it to copy some more since I forgot a file - but I chose not to keep the version of
hello all i created photoshop puppet and it works well after doing lot of work .. but after i close my pc and open again its like new puppet without tags without bones and without any thing how i can save my puppet ??
Does anyone have any information on CA performance? Adobe only posts the minimum requirements, which basically just state the need for OpenGL support. I'm wondering if this software is mostly ALU performance dependent and therefore benefits from a good CPU or FPU performance dependent and will actually utilize a GPU.
I have a puppet I created and named all parts copying CHADs yet the blink layer shows over the pupils and the eyeballs which were surpose to hide. Please help.
I'd like to download a PSD file of Chad to edit on Blender after. Thanks.
Hello all!! I was creating some animation for my students. I create a dummy puppet in adobe photoshop, after that I add the waking behaviour of same in the rig mode of adobe animater by assigning all the handles. I learn all this matter of animation from the videos of okay samurai sir tutorials. I also cross check the handles and other parameters by downloading the free puppets provided by okay samurai on internet. The major problem i facing with my puppet is that it moves very rough in up down motion while walking behavior is applied. Also the face of puppet is compressed and elongated as it walks. When I select the run position in the walking style in the record mode, the legs of the puppet diteorates and it moves up and down more, also the running is not smooth. I stuck in this position from last couple of days. I am very intersted in this field, but now I am too depressed as things are not working as per my expectations. I request you all to please help me out
Anytime I try exporting on adobe character animator 2020 version 3.3 to adobe media encoder 2019 windows v13.1.3.45 character animator keeps telling me to install media encoder
I bought a 13" MacBook a few weeks back with a waccom Cintiq 16 so I could use all the adobe programs and learn with professional software. However, I have come across an issue with character animator. The I try and record or move the head everything is very glitchy and delayed. Is there a way to fix this?
Hello, is it possible that the tracking does not work properly if I have software installed in different languages? I have installed Photoshop in German and Character Animator in English.
I started with the blank template and did the same things with the eyes on this as on my first project. For some reason I am unable to get the right pupil to move no matter what I try. I copied it from the left eye in photoshop, made it independent, checked for all the typical problems. It worked fine on my first character, but not this one. I spent hours on this stupid issue. Please help!I did this in photoshop. I tried using + in front of everyhting needed, still nothing. So I went back to default before uploading. You'll notice in animator they eyes are set as independent.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ogQcw67oP-ilhrRkkYq8CbhL8s79XNcW?usp=sharing
Hi,I had a power outage today and lost a lot of work on a puppet. I have one backup but stupidly hadn't created a second. I keep my save file on a secondary drive so assumed it would be OK. I didn't anticipate a power outage corrupting the file however. Would it be possible for someone to look at the file for me to see if it is recoverable? As I have no idea how to do that. The error message is "Corrupted loose reference file: refs?heads/master)returned from git_revparse_single(&headp,repoP, specZ)".If this is possible I can send the files or link to them via a PM. I don't want the puppet publicly accessible. Thanks so much for any help.
Hello!!I downloaded a puppet from okaysamurai and when I click to edit original file in character animator it opens in photoshop, which I am less familiar with. Does anyone know how to open it in illustrator? It is the Eliza 3 view in case that helps.Thank you!!!
This is an oddball question but I'm working with a character who's voice I'm not able to do but would still like to livestream with. Does anybody have any idea on how to add live typed text to a sort of speech bubble that pops up? I'm also open to any outside programs that work with OBS to do this. I'm currently controlling the character via Xbox controller to MIDI so I have the full keyboard available but need more audience interaction than just character movement.
I'm super new to character animator, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.Basically I'm trying to make my puppet fade in an out right? But when I add the behaviour and trigger and go back to record mode, the puppet is transparent and pressing the key doesn't do anything. What am I missing here? I watched the guide to triggers and did as shown but its not working. The opacity is at 100% and if I try to do this to just one part of the puppet or to another one the result is the same - that part is invisible and won't turn back to normal. Help?
Hello to all. I really want to learn how to fully use the Character Animator program. After working with her for a while there were questions, could you help with them?First How to make objects on the head and hands with separate textures?Second. How to make head turns with a mask or glasses? (what parameters to indicate in the program)Third. How to attach an object to the hands so that they are the top layer?
I think this is a bug in 3.3.1. I wanted to check if anyone else was seeing it. I have multiple audio interfaces on my system. When Character Animator is linked from an AE or Premiere project, I often see this message "The device has changed and no output channels are present..."When I have left a project rendering, I often come back to maybe ten instances of this screen. It makes no difference if I tick the Don't Show Me Again box. I have tried changing my default system audio. It is only Character Animator and none of the other Adobe apps are throwing up this message. I am used to seeing this message in other CC apps if I unplug my USB Audio Interface - which makes perfect sense - but there's nothing like that going on.
I had been storing the PS files connected to my rig on my desktop, but then made the mistake of moving them, resulting in this. Any advice on how to re-link? Or will I need to build a new rig? Thanks!
I want to draw and animate something like the picture below. It is a set of 2 identical size gears. One of the gears has a drive shaft and the other gear is basically lose inside the gear housing. As the gear witht he drive shaft turns, it also turns the other gear and it suctions fluid from the bottom. I already know how to animate the fluid OK. But what would be the best way to animate a set of gears rotating like this?
When in Record, I only see the puppet's mouth change to a number of mouths. Neutral, smile, and surprised are the only mouths shown when I'm recording my face and I'm not sure why. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks! If you need any more information please let me know. I love this program and hope to improve my puppet
