Questions

I am really loving learning this program, but I am still struggling with some basics.I have set the same arm tags for ARM IK and everything was working fine, but when I go back to my illustrator file > make a small edit > then Save > Go back to CharacterAnimator > the tags dissappear? What am I doing wrong! Been using the chole template.

What is the right way to use a blank puppet template to create a puppet in different positions? I was able to get a working puppet using a blank template but as soon as I add new positions (e.g. frontal, right side, left side etc..) to the same charcater, I have issues with the scene. Do you create a new template for each view?

Is there a quick way to apply the same changes to a puppet that has multiple positions (e.g. frontal, left, right position etc..). I am trying to change lip colors on a set of lips. When i use the main dropdown edit, the color is also applied to the inside of the mouth. Is there an option to recolor lips without having to open all lips positions individually?  thanks

The bright yellow one up by the mouth. I have just finished this cartoon in Illustrator and moved it into Character Animator. This one spot won't go away, won't move, won't do anything but foul up the picture's center. When I try to eliminate it the name 'neck' disappears but the 'zero' won't go away. When I try to just eleminate it the Properties changes to (Handle). Why? And how do I stop it?

Hi guys,  I was wondering if anyone could help me, currently my pupils move pretty well excepet for the fact that when I look up they go all the way behind my eyelids I've watched videos and set up my character how Okay Samurai suggests but my pupils still float behind the lids.  I'd appreciate any suggestions or helpful tips Thanks in advance.

hi, Can anyone please help me reconnect my ai file to the puppet sample? I mistakenly saved the ai file under a different name and it is no longer connecting to the puppet. I went back and updated the name to be listed as the name of the original file but do not see any changes. Are there any other steps to take? thanks

Can someone help me to know how to set up my trigger to swap between the normal mouth and sad mouth.

Hi!I am having issues when importing an AI file. I named all layers properly - but, as you can see - the layers look totally different in CA. I used clipping masks in illustrator (for different colors on the tentacles f. e. ) and these seem to cause the problems. I also tried to save the files with "CC Legacy"-option. I am working with the latest version of all programs (the issues also appear in CA 2018 and CA 2019) Any ideas how to solve the problem? Help would be VERY APPRECIATED as I have to finish the commission by tomorrow. Thanks in advanceBest wishes,Nasha

Hello! I used the "Compute Lip Sync Take from Scene Audio" feature on a puppet and when I try to add some triggers to the scene they overwrite the existing timeline. Could anyone please tell me how to add triggers to a scene that was lip-synced?  Thanks!

I set up my background to move and my character to walk in place, but it looks like my character is walking backwards. How can I change that to have the background move in the right direction?

What I'm trying to do:I'm using the Sticky Puppet and I want to put a hat on him that works in both left and right profile while walking. Problem I'm having:I'm dropping the hat on him inside the rig section on his head layer. This creates a copy of the hat in both left and right profiles with the hat pointing in one direction. So when I turn to walk the other way, the hat is facing the wrong direction. How do I make the hat turn with him? When I try to edit the left profile hat, it effects the right profile hat and vice versa. How can I make the hats work independently of each other? UPDATE:I figured out how to do this! I dropped the hat on both profiles above the head then I dragged the Origiin down to the head until I got the green highlight and now they both show up correctly. -Shaye

I'm new to Character Animator and would like to know if an animation can be exported to Final Cut Pro.

Hi All, Once my animation has been imported to encode the screen rendred to black, where as in Character animator the backdrop is white. How can I change the background to its original colour/background once its been encoded please?  Thank you

I set up my first puppet for a walking cycle and am pretty happy how it came out except for one small section. and im sure its an issue with one of my handles, but i cant find it.  if you can see in the pictures on the side the shirt rises with every stepso you can see the arm layered behind please help if possible.

I have to make an animation with weights falling from the sky to an elastic spiderwire. Here are 4 images from the storyboard. For the left part with the steel bar, I did it on After Effects. For the right part, I thought it would be easier on Adobe Character. In Adobe Character, I used the "Physics", Collision and particle (in canon mode) functions to drop my weights. The spiderwire is also in collision mode. But I can't get the spiderwire to stretch with the weight of the weights. I added a draggable handle in the middle of the wire. I succeeded to create the principle of animation by manipulating live, but not to record it : impossible to properly wedge when to pull it (I attach a .mov file which shows my tests, but it's a screenshot by QuickTime, not a render). It is very hazardous, I cannot trigger the fall of the weights at a precise moment to synchronize the fall with the deformation of the spiderwire. Can someone advise me to record this animation?

I'm very new here & watching all the tutorials, what Im trying to figure out here is using the Finn fish character I want him to start tiny & thern grow larger & larger as though swimming in. I can't find anything related to this. Can anyone give me some pointers please?

Hello, I began to use A. Ch yesterday. I used the puppet Chloe to modify my character.Once the modifications finished in Photoshop I export it.But it has bizarre eye movements. (the right eye ball distorts all the time...) And where I can modify the triggers beacause they're not right

I don't know what the title should be, but here we go: As you can recognize immediately, h̶e̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶C̶a̶r̶t̶m̶a̶n̶ ̶r̶i̶p̶-̶o̶f̶f̶  the puppet body is weirdly positioned by Ch. I guess it has something to do with pivot point? But I don't know how to fix it. Please someone help.Thank you!Download link for the puppet if you want to see more details:https://www.mediafire.com/file/zlzzfp2oc0pculn/EEBS.puppet/file

I just downloaded a puppet with all the assets from GraphicMama. All the assets are there but no puppet. Have you run into this issue?

Say I copy certain keyframes from certain body part, for example a head movement (like in South Park). Then I paste it to another character. The pasted keyframes are not only pasted on the head transform behavior, but all other transform behaviours, like hands, body, etc... Any fix to make it only paste to same body parts as it was copied? Thanks!

Hello,i've started to learn CA with the vidéos of OKAY SAmouraï.When i start with one of his puppets, the head is always following the mouvment of my head, and the coonexion with the bodyBG is perfect. When i produce my own puppet in illustrator, with the + for the independant groups, (i try to name correctly my layers, but i'm working with the french version so i don't know if the tags are working in french - it does for the speakings layers), i try to remove the anchor point of the head, drag it to the green zone on the body as a first step. My head si an independant group, my body is not, i don't really know why it is not workiing... But it never works, my head is never connected to the body, whatever name i can give it to it.Please help. I'm working whith the 2.1.1 version.
