I'm new to character animator and am wondering if I could create a puppet with just a mouth, nothing else. I would like to either make my owns mouths or edit premade puppets so I can just have the mouth. I want to then upload my prerecorded audio to this mouth. Then I want to take this mouth recording and place it something else on a separate platform. Is this possible?
I'm trying to make an animation of drinking coffee with the magnet function, but the cup follows me even if I turn off the magnet function with the trigger function.I'm trying to do the same thing as the fish in Okey Samurai's video, but I don't know why it doesn't work.
I've been using the transcript-based lip sync (following the process from the Okay Samuria YouTube video). Overall, it works great but I keep running into the following error message: "compute lip sync failed: check that the transcript matches the audio" The transcript does tend to correctly display the words from teh audio but I get the error message regardless. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or know why I'm getting the error message since the words and audio appear to correctly match? Thanks!
Hello everyone,There are some puppets in animate-from-audio that I really like and I have used some of them but now I want to have more control over them so I am switching to character animator and I need to get those puppets into character animator.I looked for them but I did't find them. where to get them?
Hi, I'm a complete novice to CH but I've created an animated puppet which is singing along to an imported song and dancing (all in a very basic amateurish kind of way), but the idea was to have him also juggle. My original photoshop file included all the objects for juggling but I soon realised they would need to be imported seperatly. However, I cannot seem to find a way to animate them seperately from the puppet and make them move in an arc in "free space". My puppet is standing in place (not walking or moving in the scene) and I thought I'd be able to find a method to do this. I've spent a lot of time Googling and not found a way. Do I need to export him as a video into somthing like After Effects to acheive this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you, David.
I'm having trouble getting my pupils to track properly. I've got three different puppets set up (one of them is working fine). Two of them have issues: the first, when I move the pupils, the whole eye moves with it. I assume this is an issue of independence, but the pupils are set to independent (and have the crown icon), same as my other puppet. The third one has one working eye, the other not fully working...the eye moves down fine, moves slightly to the right, and not at all up or to the left. No idea what's going on with that one. All are set to use eye gaze based on keyboard input. Please help?
Hi all!I currently have one CA puppet that I use as a template for a vast variety of other puppets. The other puppets consist of the same character, but with different outfits, triggers, etc.I previous had one file with this idea in mind where i had added around 40+ puppets.I would eventually run into issues with lag and performance, but I am unsure whether it was my computer or the program. I deleted some of the scenes and only had up to 5 scenes available, but still maintained the 40+ rigs within the file. I now have a better rig with more ram and a new ssd.My main question is, what is the best practice here for performance when it comes to a file that can contain many puppet files?Im reworking my main template puppet so I am in a sense starting over, so i'd like to future proof this idea of multiple puppets. Does CA slow down when you have multiple rigged puppets in one file? should i cut back on scenes only?is having multiple rigged characters okay?any hel
I am trying to get my character to pick up a piece of chalk. My puppet was one of the ones in the puppet library, so I didn't do the rigging myself, but I'm trying to learn based on watching videos and looking to see how this one is already rigged. I made sure the chalk was in its own folder in its own layer in PS. I had to make a chalk tray on the chalkboard to make sure the chalk didn't fall to the ground. I have it set as Magnet, Dynamic, Collide, though I don't know for sure if it have the magnets set on the right folder entry. Next, I am trying to figure out where to put the Magnet on the Arm. I think I have all of the rigging right on the Left Arm, with the Left Wrist being draggable. But every time I try to put a magnet anywhere on the Arm, I get the following error message: If I put Dynamic on the wrist, the hand falls off. If I put Dynamic on the elbow, the forearm falls off. If I put Dynamic on the shoulder, the arm falls off. If I put Dynamic on the
I uploaded a video of the issue to youtube, basically I made a silly animation were my character takes a weapon from behind his chair and brings it to the front i'm probably going about it the wrong way any help would be appreciated. https://youtu.be/WSR_sDa44cw you can probably tell by my voice i feel a little defeated 😞 lol.
Is it possible to create triggers using timecode?*I have several 1 minute videos where I have to "live" record the eye movement (just looking left/right, depending on who is talking) and I use the triggers.*Mapped to the right/left arrow keys and that works fine... But can I just enter timcodes and make it "look left (or right)" at certian timecodes?(i.e.: "Look left" at 01:01:01:01, 01:02:00:00, 01:03:10:00, etc.)?
Please help! I'm pretty new to Character Animator, but I've been watching lots of tutorials online. I thought I was doing pretty well, but I've run into an issue where some of my triggers for facial expressions aren't working. For example, I have two versions of the character's smile, so one is labeled Smile, which works fine, but then I have one I've called Big_Smile, which uses cycle layers, and when I try to trigger that, nothing happens. Another example is I have an expression called "Shock." I've added a trigger, and when I try to play it, again nothing happens. I've included a screenshot of my rigged puppet.
I need to animate with voice over my own character which I have created, with that talking animation I want to animate with hand guestures. If I can creat some action animation so I can use as a trigger.
I was thinking how cool would it be to use CA to auto animate an a.i assistant like elevenlabs a.iYou can create a character and have a conversation with it while watching it.
Hi everyone. I've made changes in my CA puppet but they are not reflected in the original PS edit. The scale for the body is off in the PS original and I need the PS original to match the scale in my CA.I don't know how I did that but I need them to now match.
I animated a character from Adobe Character and then converted it to a video from Adobe Media Encoder and I want to open a video from Adobe Character and edit it
Why do the puppets I create, when imported to CA, "float" as opposed to the CA stock ones whose "feet" remain still. Your assistance is appreciated greatly
I am using a downloaded puppet and I got the walk function to work, but the viewpoint isn't correct. It is like the "camera" is in the middle of my puppet's neck. Anyone know how I can fix this?
All of my puppets who have autoblink close their eyes at the beginning of the scene and keep them closed until the first puppet in the scene has visemes. Then all of them open their eyes at the same time and begin regular autoblink. It's silly looking and also makes it a tight edit due to the character having closed eyes right up until one of them starts to talk. Anyone else encountered this weird quirk?
Hi All, I am super super new at Character Animator. I have been trying to create myself for a video for my blog but I can't for some reason get the lip sync to work. I just finished creating all of the unique mouth arrangements Ee, D, R, and so on. When I use the keyboard to test it, it works perfectly. But for some reason the audio will not work. I have tried everything that I can think of.Is there something that I forgot to add? Or did I not select something right? I have also tried to use the tutorials but haven't had much luck trying to fix my problem. The only thing the face matching will do is smile and stay neutral.Thank you so much in advance.
This may be a dumb question, but when setting up a scene, is there a way to quickly drag puppets into the location you want them on the screen? Like, the way you would use the arrow tool in Illustrator or Photoshop to move things around? It's kind of tedious to constantly have to dial in the X and Y positions for everything rather than simply move stuff there directly with your mouse.
Ive tried the last 4 versions of CA, and they all give:libgit2 error -3(4/revspec 'HEAD' not found) returned from git_revparse_single(&headP, repoP, specZ)When trying to open a file. Then for some reason in the new v25 I cant even start a new file to try recreate.Any ideas?
Hi.I am researching different software. I am relatively new to 2D animation. While I am willing to put the work in, I am also looking for something with a relatively fast learning curve while getting optimal results.I am currently learning Adobe Character Animator for making 2D animations with multiple characters. A little time consuming...Anyone have any thoughts on Cartoon Animator 5? I have read so many horrible old reviews. I am wondering if they have improved any. I know they rig differenlty and don't use vectors. You also have to pay a ton for add-ons. I have heard horrible things about their customer service. In fact I have tried to contact them with pre-sale questions and have been unsuccessful. I guess I am looking for anything positive with this software/company.Also any thoughts on Mojo or Toon Boom Harmnony? These are the top 3 that come to mind.I'm not trying to knock Adobe down. But I am looking for a 2D animator that doesn't require a degree in graphic design. I do know
Hi.I am new to Character Animator. I am learning the basics at the moment. Before I proceed, I would like to know how easy or feasible is it to make more than one character for an animated cartoon. Let's say for example I wanted three characters? How would I go about doing this? I have watched tons of Okay Samurai's videos. He is great. But I haven't seen how to incorporate more than one character.I am interested in making an educational YT video, in 2D animation style. Thanks for any input.
Hey all, installing the NDI tools and nothing is showing up with CC2020. I've attempted all the fixes listed here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/character-animator/ndi-doesn-t-show-up-in-character-animator/m-p/9179654#M2951 But still not seeing the NDI plugins anywhere on the CC file system. Is there a bug with NDI and 2020?
can someone please tell me how can i remove the background of a puppet on adobe illustrator
