Questions

I spent a week rigging a puppet, and don't want to have to go through that rigging proccess on every single puppet. Is it possible to have 1 rigging setup for multiple puppets, so that when I import them all into 1 scene they don't share the rigging links?

Hii am very new to character Animate. I think my puppet is almost done. One final issue i am having is the face capture. i want it to just catch my expression and not my head movelments.I will be using it for lve streaming and i can't sit in a static postion.I have tried adding some fixed tags to the body and head but the just causes warping when i move to muchCan i change the camera capture settings so that it doesnt move the puppets head?

I have a few views set up using Triggerable Shots (Full, Mid, Close-up). But the camera will jump between Full and Mid even though I've indicated Full on the timeline. Here's a picture; you can the green and blue bars are for Mid but it switches to Full right there at the 2:35 mark. I have a few puppets that are triggered and I wonder if that's somehow impacting the scene camera. Thanks,Woody

Hey. I am creating a robot floor lamp wiht two chains that turn the light bulbs on. I thought it would be funny to have the eyes be attached to the chain. I can make the chain dangle beautifully without an eye attached. But when I tried to attach and eye to it, It just doesn't want to work. I moved the Eye files out of the head folder so they are separate. But I am unable to find a way to attach the eye to the chain. Am I wanting to do something that just isn't possible in Character Animator? here's an image of the eye...  

Hello, i have been trying to edit this puppet in photoshop like changing color overlays but the new colours wont sync in character animator. does anyone have an idea what im doing wrong?    

I'm new to Character Animator, and have been using the Acquavella puppet from Okay Samurai as a starting point to play around. But I've struck a big issue early on... If I use "Edit Original" to adjust the source artwork at all, when I Save in Photoshop and move back to CA, the riggin is completely broken.  More importantly, the rigging is broken if I click Save in Photoshop without having made any artwork changes! Steps:1 - Open CA, add puppet and create scene2 - Right-click puppet in Project panel and click "Edit original" (Photoshop opens)3 - Without doing anything else in Photoshop, click Ctrl-S to save artwork, then Ctrl-Tab to head back to CA4 - Screne refreshes, but puppet is completely broken! When I say broken... The body warps and twists strangley, the eyeballs grow and shrink vertically (previously only one size or blinked closed), etc. Any ideas? Do I need to edit the artwork differently?

Hi, I have 2 questions / issues regarding scene cameras: 1. I've created multiple camera views (Wide, Mid & Close-Up). For some reason, the camera jumps from Mid to Wide even though I've selected the Mid view via the triggerable view in swap set. Any idea why this change in camera view is happening? Here is an image of when the camera jumps to wide (as you'll see it should just be a continuation of the Mid camera view, there's nothing else in the timeline that suggests a change in camera view): 2.  How does the puppet hierarchy work when there's a scene camera involved? I'm wondering if I place puppets above the camera in the timeline if they're impacted by various camera views? Since I'm using certain puppets as triggerable cycles to overlay the scene, I want them to not be impacted by the Scene camera. Here's the hierarchy I'm using now and I can't tell if there's a way to make the triggerable cycles unaffected by whether the Scence Camera is in Wide, Mid, Clo

Im trying to use the gopro hero9 as camera, but CH doesnt recognize it as a camera.I can use the camera in discord without problem. I've tried to google about compatibility but cant find anything. I searched the forum for other having the problem but i cant find anything. At the moment im updating my windows to the latest version hoping it will make some difference but i dont know. Anyone else used that gopro and know?or someone got any suggestions how to solve it?Thanks for your help

HiNew Character Animate user here.I have watched many of the Tutorials and looked through the discussions but cannot find the solution i'm looking for.My puppet is too big for the "screen" in the Record section. How do i adjust its postion and size.?Thanking you in advance

I saw similar posts on this issue, but I kinda figured it out randomly for my case and thought other newbies might run into it and search the forum... I set up separate swap sets for squint behaviors (slow and fast). Each had "Default Eyelids" in the default on position. Because the sets were seaprate, one default was always on, so the "Default Eyelids" would never disappear. The solution was to consolidate the swap sets into one, so there was only one "Default Eyelids."

Hello, I can't open any of the template characters offered in the character animator software. It comes up with an error code: Internal error code:(70845333:4063+4) attempt to index upvalue '?' (a nil value) I use a mac book pro with upto date 12.0.1 version. Can any one please help?Thank you in advance.

CRASH REPORT Animator started quitting, shortly after loading, this morning. I started getting these "Crash Report" s pop up and I haven't been able to use the program since. I'm not sure if I had just updated before or after the initial crash. I have installed and uninstalled different versions, to no avail(4.4 and 22.0). The program starts up and prompts me to create a new project or open a saved one. Whatever action I take or click on from there, CA crashes. I really love CA and have many ongoing projects., but I am now at a standstill. Any suggestions?

My mic is very sensitive to sound, and since and my pc cooler is very loud, it counts that as sound too (my characters mouth is open at all times)is there a way to lower the sensitivity of the microphone in adobe character animator?

I have a puppet with a few different expressions which I have organized in a swapset and controlled by triggers.As most of us know, it's good practice to usually have the character blink as they transition into a different emotion.  My puppet is set up to blink whenever I blink into the camera.  And I can set create a trigger to set off the blink as well if I want to. But lets say I have 5 different emotions, each set to a different trigger/key.  Is there a way to have each of those keys ALSO set off the blink cycle so that the blink is triggered whenever the emotion is changed? Thanks for any tips!

All parts within and below the same group as the blink are supposed to disappear when the blink is triggered.  This is happening for me.  However,  when the blink is over, those parts (in this case, eyelashes) do NOT reappear.   Can anyone offer any insight into this problem? Thanks!

Working with a character with two spaghetti arms and it seems tricky to keep the arm hinge more like a smooth curve rather than a 90 degree angle? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi !It would be great to be able to move the wrist like the elbow and the rest of the body move with body tracking. Being able to bend the wrists so that the character really comes to life while moving, for now doing live with fixed hands gives a very robotic look.Isabelle

I have my character fully done. The only problem now, is that when i look right the eyes go up and not right. It may be because of the eye shape, please help. 

Hi! I am using the head movement from speech function on Character Animator, but the face(nose, mouth, eyes and eyebrows) is moving in front of the head. Can i fix that somehow? Thanks in advance.

Trying to get the body to stay still while only the head moves. Stick tool not working or I'm not using it right. I forgot how to change from it says "origin" to "body", if that's supposed to make a difference.

  Hello everyone this  is my first time posting here and im a little at my whits end.ive made different layers in photoshop for animator and when i import the layers into illustrator or character animator the already done layers are parented AGAIN!please help thanks so much 

Hi, I'm new to this & need help. I took the "Blank" character offered in adobe & changed its features to become my character. I did this because it was recommended by the Okay Samurai as the best place to start if you are new to animating.Then I took that character, shifted its body a little (to appear from the side) and tried to animate it to walking. I rigged & re-rigged multiple times & couldn't get it to walk, so I took the bottom section of the "Linden" character & placed that as the bottom half of the"Blank" character. Good news is it walked & I was able to get the head to bounce with the walk. Bad news is that regardless of all the re-rigging, the arms would not take on the swing of walking & I couldn't get the character to stop walking.Are these adobe characters programmed a certain way which does not allow a person to re-rig it? Do I need to start from scratch? Or, is there something I'm missing?Below is my walking character. Top pic is what I see w

What would be the best already full rigged full body tracking puppet to use to create my own puppet so I don't have to start from scratch? Thanks!!

Whenever I put the body layer (in Illustrator) under the +WhobutChris layer as one whole layer, the hoodie disappears in Character Animator. So I made it it's own layer and now it won't move, but the head will.
