Questions

I usually export all files as PNG to share easier through email, text or other messaging services.  I am not unable to export as "png" as it just shows a blank area when previewing what the PNG will look like.  Does not matter if the background is white, black or transparent it shows nothing as if there isn't an image being exported.  Please offere any advice if you've had this happen or simple troubleshooting that i can use to try to fix this.

Hi there,I need to group my text and drop shadow so they are BOTH in front of the yelow image.   Right now, the drop shadow is behind the yellow image and the text is in front of the image......what am I doing wrong??? Thanks!

Illustrator crashes every time I open it (first screenshot) - or if I get it open - try opening a file (second screenshot). I've tried EVERYTHING on the crash issues (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/fix-crash-on-launch-issues.html?linkId=100000347817406) page. NOTHING works. I'm having this problem on both my Mac laptop and desktop. I'm on the most recent version - 29.3.1.

Since updating to a new computer, both Illustrator and Photoshop are displaying white as either grey or blue.This does not go away when exported, placed, saved as a different file format, etc.I am unsure if this is a color settings issue, or something else.I've tried changing the settings to see if anything would change. The color will shift from blue to a grey, but will not display white.

I am running CS4 Master Suite on Mac 10.5.8 and in other CS versions of Illustrator, I could select the image I just placed and click "Edit Original" and the image would then open in Photoshop. Now the "Edit Original" is grayed out. I am sure it's a simple setting I am overlooking and I tried to search the forum, but get an admin error when trying to search the forum no matter what info I add in the search field. It seems the forum is all Adobe what's to give us as far as tech support....and now it is giving errors!Mark

I'm using macOS Monterey 12.6.1 and Adobe Illustrator 27.1.1. I am trying to use the import options to place a layered Photoshop file but when I go to File/Place and check the box "Show Import Options" Illustrator doesn't bring up the dialogue box for the import options. It goes directly to place the Photoshop file. The other boxes (Link and Template) are unchecked when I go to File/Place. I tried checking and unchecking all the boxes to see if that would make a difference and my computer has been restarted, also, but the import options still aren't showing up.  Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

I created a custom bar chart (attached) and the doc displays with the assigned colors within AI, and pdf exports show the same range of colors as well. But, Mac Sonoma now displays the .ai thumbnail as monochrome in all views. It didn't do this yesterday.  I rebooted the system in Safe Boot, then restarted and opened the doc, saved it.  No change in the issue. So, the file is fine and no issues with workflow, but strange that my iMac 24 (Sonoma) suddenly started doing this. Thoughts?

When using the 'Envelope Distort' > 'Make with Top Object' tool to fit text to a shape, how can you control the letter density to position them the way you want ?

Hi,I was trying to type the special characters, specifically € character while using Illustrator. Unfortunately the method that works for every other piece of software I use, is not available in Illustrator. There reason is that Illustrator uses 'Alt Gr' key as replacement for combination 'Alt+Ctrl' even in the text typing mode. That prevents me from using any special characters that require the combination of 'Alt Gr + <letter>'. The examples would be 'Alt Gr + 4' which gives € character in result or 'Alt gr + e' giving 'é'. Please don't suggest for me to pick the special characters from 'Character Map' as it would only make sense if it's just one once in a while. I know I'll need Illustrator for jobs that would require multiple special characters in a sentence.It also doesn't have anything to do with the keyboard/system/software regional and language settings. The issue is specific to Illustrator and I was wondering if there's a way for disabling the key assignment so I could t

When I install Adobe Illustrator 2025 via the Creative Cloud Desktop app, it naturally downloads the ARM-based version.However, for compatibility reasons with a plug-in I use, I specifically need the Intel-based (x86) version of Adobe Illustrator 2025 for macOS. Hello,I'm experiencing Illustrator crashes too often. Today I've tried to create a 10 pages document, all freezes for 20 min aprox and then I've to force quit. When restart the app a warning appears "looks like someone else is using your Adobe account", but it's only me! See attached (in spanish). I have a Macbook pro 2020, 15", 16 GB RAM and OSX Sequoia.Thank you, Alejandra

Why is the Draw Inside Tool in.  Adobe CC now unavailabe? I haven't benn able to use it for some time now. Does anyone know when it will be available again? 

 Just why...I don't want to use that janky ass floating bar, and you can't even dock the character/ paragraph window cause they're under properties.Guys any work around for this...?

Why can't I delete anchor points? Is there a fix for this? I read about installing older versions and I tried that. Still doesn't work. How on earth can you have a problem with one of the most basic tools in AI?   {Renamed by MOD}

Hello,i have a simple clipping mask made of a compound path from 4 lines (object, compound), and an image below in the layers:But when i select both and "make clipping path", the only thing left is a small sliver of the image that corresponds to the line of the path, everything else dissapearsAt this point i'm lost on what's going on

I have the issue that objects align to guides in a completely arbitrary manner—sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. I’ve tried all the standard solutions except for reinstalling the software. The guides themselves work, but just not consistently. I’ve had this problem for 3-4 years, and with every update, it occurs more frequently. As a core functionality, this is no longer acceptable. It’s frustrating. Attached is a video that explains more than a thousand words. I hope I’m not the only person on the planet dealing with this problem.

I can't figure out what character to search to strip out extra normal paragraph returns in my illustrator file. ^p has always worked in the past in InDesign. On the pull down, it only shows the characgter for a forced line break.  I've googled high and low... the answer will be appreciated.

Hi, so far i'm in love with illustrator, been using it daily for my school related project. i recently got a lot of project which needed to masking/ clipping mask an object inside an image on Illustrator so my option were either manually tracing the object with pen tool & mask it, or use photoshop to auto select the object and export in PNG. so i want to propose an idea, like how about you guys even improve the image trace function? the new improved image trace will allow us user to use lasso-like tools to cover the object we want to trace into an optimum Auto-traced objects.i'm inspired by the idea of selecting in photoshop with auto-detect object where you can just use the tools to auto detect where we want to select and can let us do whatever we want with the selection, like to mask an image or convert it to functional path and we can convert those path to a shape.With this even improved image trace in Illustrator we can select the area we want and the AI will help us

My selection tool on Adobe Illustrator has just been acting strangely. Whenever I try to resize the object with it, it appears as the direct selection tool and moves the object. Could you help me? 

Subject is pretty much it. Various firings of the "Could not find the linked file" warning, even though i originally created the file in the same Dropbox folder that other machines are trying to access it from. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Hi,I got a new machine – a Mac Studio M3 Ultra.When I move the cursor (over the artboard or outside of it), the colors change — they become either more saturated or less saturated. I can’t find any logic behind what causes the shift.I thought it might be related to the low refresh rate of the monitor (Apple Studio Display 27"), but this only happens while working in Illustrator. Everything looks fine in Photoshop and After Effects.
