Ever since I updated to Tahoe, Illustrator hasn’t been working on my Mac Studio M2 Max (32 GB of RAM). It freezes on the start-up screen, stops responding, the spinning wheel appears, and I’m forced to force quit.Adobe support asked me for remote access this morning, but all they did was uninstall the latest version (30.4) and install 30.0. It worked for a while, then back to square one. I’ve tried disabling the GPU, I’ve tried installing version 29; it works for a few launches and then nothing, it just freezes again. I don’t know what else to try.

Correct me if I am wrong : When I first tried Retype feature I could edit text in an image (incorporated, not linked). But now I am only able to identify a more or less simliar font without editing text function. Am I missing something or did Adobe stepped back and dropped this very useful feature?

Having an issue in Illustrator. Creating a shape in Illustrator and trying to make it a hyperlink for final PDF export. I open the Attributes box but can't paste in url address needed. I can manually type in to URL box but can't paste long URL address straight in to it.

Hi all,We currently print (send files) directly from Adobe Illustrator to the Epilog laser cutter. When print is selected the dialogue box has a settings button which, when clicked, opens an Epilog settings box that allows the user to change settings such as power and speed. All was fine until the IT department upgraded to Windows 11. Now we cannot get the setting box to appear. If we try and send a print job from another program (eg Notepad) to the laser cutter we are able to bring up the Epilog settings box so I’m thinking this is rather an Adobe issue than a windows 11 issue. Any help appreciated. Thanks

MacBook Pro - Version macOS Tahoe 26.4.1New work computer, full adobe account, Illustrator freezes on every launch, spinning beachball.Have to force quit and restart, at most two times to get it working.Be awesome if I didn’t have to do that on a brand new mac.

I’m copying an object from one art board and pasting it into the same location on another art board in the same document (and yes I’m selecting the correct art boards whilst doing this). For some reason in this file (which was originally a PDF) when I go to paste in place on the 2nd art board, it pastes the object off the board. I’ve attached the illustrator file so you can play this game aswell. Try copying the red square on the first art board and paste it in place on the 2nd art board. See if you can get it to paste in the correct location - or like me - it pastes it off the top art board (as in the attached screenshot). Does anyone know what I have to do to fix this. Hi everyone ~I have several versions of Photoshop installed, but I want to open the selected image in a specific version of Photoshop from within Illustrator, such as “C:\Ps2026\Photoshop.exe”.If you could help me solve this using a script, I would really appreciate it.You can copy the directory containing the installed Photoshop.exe to the C drive to test it.Thank you. 

What process/sequence should be used to get ‘raw’ (just downloaded from my camera) into the right size/resolution/ for general web and thumbnails.What I have been trying:  Crop the image (jpeg) (mine range from 2000 kb - 5000 kb) Scale the image to a width no wider than 1200 px for pc screens. Export the image at 1x and .7x-.8x webp format.  (The latter sizes for Thumbnails)For people who do this on a regular basis, what process do you use?  (My AI defaults to 72 ppi)

The top control bar has vanished in adobe illustrator, I have tried clicking control from the window options and it still will not appear. I’ve also tried all the different screen modes, plus choosing the contol option and it still will not come back. Anyone els ehad this problem, it is extremely frustrating as the control bar is a big part of my work flow

Hi everyone, Illustrator keeps crashing at startup. I have tried reinstalling but that doesn’t change anything. I have tried restarting my computer, and it sometimes works, but normally I have to keep restarting up to two or three times before it works and I have to go therough this process everytime I want to open it. It’s really affecting my ability to work. Any help would be much appreciated. Best, Andrew

I haven’t used Illustrator for a while, but I’m honestly shocked at how poor the performance is. For context: I have a relatively high-end PC (Intel 265K, 64GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 3080), and I’ve had my fair share of performance issues across all Adobe apps.Premiere has improved to a somewhat usable state. Lightroom is still laggy - I have to disable GPU acceleration to make it usable. Photoshop works, but it takes around 2 minutes to fully boot, during which I can’t click anything.But Illustrator is on a completely different level.Zooming is basically unusable. You do it once and commit, because it can take up to a minute to actually respond. If you zoom in and out a few times, you might as well go grab a coffee - and when you come back, maybe it’s done. If not, the viewport will keep jumping and you’ll just end up misclicking everything. What’s most frustrating is that this doesn’t feel like a hardware limitation at all. I uninstalled creative cloud and redownloaded it and now saved files wont show up. I had files on illustrator that I know I saved but now don’t show up at all. Certain files show only their older version and not their most recent version. I have a macbook air if that makes any difference.

I have a script that I will be using frequently, but going to File > Scripts every time may become pretty tiring - even though it's very useful. Is it possible to build a panel or create a button that will activate a script? I have some coding knowledge and am willing to try making it myself if someone can point me in the right direction...

Hey all, I’ve tried doing a search to see if I can figure this out, but it seems to me something has changed in the last few years and nothing suggested is an option anymore. I have an illustrator file with several things in it, but I would like to be able to save a copy with only what is on the artboard. I have seen this done before, and people in the past seem to have been able to do it, but i’ve tried everything I can find and can’t seem to manage it.  I have tried saving a copy, exporting for screens (does work but can’t be opened by anyone else, comes up with an error page when someone tries to open), save as > export artboards, just about everything out there. The only other workaround I can think of is to make a copy of the file and just delete everything else several times over for all the different things I want a copy of, but that seems more tedious then it needs to be and I would like to see if I can do something better in future as well.Thanks!

Help! I am unsure why but when I export Ai as a pdf. The pdf is blank. Why is this the case? Nothing is clipped into a mask layers are showing.

Hi all,I’m working with a single text box in Illustrator and want to select multiple separate pieces of text at the same time (similar to holding Ctrl/Cmd in Word to select different words/phrases).The goal is to apply formatting (e.g. bold, font change, size) to multiple non-adjacent parts of the same text object in one go.See my example below: I want to highlight “Ingredients, EN | Important, Warning” so I can edit/adjust their formatting - without having to highlight each one separately, then editing the format one-by-oneIs there a way to do this in Illustrator? I’m trying to place a custom logo onto a 3D-style technical drawing.The surface I want to place it on is slightly curved and made up of multiple vector paths. I’ve tried using Object → Mockup (Beta), but it’s greyed out or doesn’t work properly with my geometry.What’s the best workflow for this?Should I be using Mockup, Envelope Distort, or something else? Do I need to simplify the surface into a single shape first? Any tips for keeping the logo clean and properly aligned on a curved surface?Appreciate any guidance or examples — especially for technical/engineering-style illustrations. 

Liebe Alle, ich benutze Adobe Illustrator 2026, Version 30.3 auf einem Windows-11-PC.Ich arbeite derzeit an einer Zeichnung, in der ich mit dem Buntstift-Werkzeug Linien zeichne. Dafür brauche ich zwei verschieden dicke Linien, deren Eigenschaften ich mir über das Grafikstil-Tool abgespeichert habe. Nun meine Frage:Wenn ich eine Linie zeichne und am Ende des Stift / die Maus absetze, ist sie zunächst noch aktiv, d.h. der Pfad und die Ankerpunkte werden noch angezeigt. Wie kann ich jetzt quasi bestätigen, dass ich mit dieser Linie fertig bin? Ich muss oft zwischen beiden Grafikstilen hin- und herwechseln, und es wäre sehr zeitsparend, wenn ich nach dem Zeichnen einer Linie mit einem Shortcut o.ä. bestätigen kann, dass diese Linie jetzt fertig ist, so dass ich im Grafikstil-Fenster den anderen Stil auswählen und mit diesem die nächste Linie zeichnen kann. (Ich hoffe, das ist verständlich erklärt.) So lange die gerade gezeichnete, erste Linie noch aktiv ist, kann ich ja nicht den Grafikst

Hi everyone. Having an issue I cannot seem to figure out. I have downloaded and am using the latest Cutting edge 5 version. I am using AI 2026. Whenever I use cutting edge 5 it opens the box to a black box. I have to use CTRL+SHIFT+Windows Key+B to get the box to then appear with the settings. I have to do it every time and I cannot seem to find out why. I have an AMD graphics card (drivers are all up to date directly from AMD). IN AI I switch to use CPU instead of GPU, still having the issue. Any Advice?

  The problem still hasn't been fixed in the latest version. I've done this and that, so please fix the bug. It's annoying to write, so please read the previous one.

Hi! can someone help me fix this issue? I'm experiencening this glitch of pink screen whenever I open files in Adobe Illustrator. It it stays for like 1-2 sec the moment AI opens.
