Hi everyone. Really simple one I think, I just can't find the setting.I have these system guides all over the canvas, and it's stealing my air lolPlease see screenshot.I know there's something I need to toggle off... I'd appreciate your help.Thanks so much.

Been working in Illustrator for 20 years. I have a simple retangle that im trying to fill a shape. When i try to grab a handle that's on the shape it simple only wants to move horizontal and not vertical. What am I missing here? Transform box is on, bounding box is on so I don't know what to try next? Like I mentioned when i click a hangle it show me the diaginal arrows only, which won't allow me to easily drag the box up. 

How come my shape builder tool is not working?

Hello, I am trying to find a way to use information from a google spreadsheet to help automatically fill in specific products onto a document. I work for a printing company and the idea is that we want to be able to have a way to automatically place specific items we want to show on a document. For example: Out of a total list of 10 items the customer wants to see mockups for items 1, 4, 5 and 7 and only those items.  Currently I am looking at using the variables tool however my biggest struggle is that sometimes customers will want to see upwards of 10-20 different mockups each and we have hundreds of customers. The way I understand it this would mean that we would have to have a really large number of cells per customer on the sheet. Is there any method that would allow for us to create a sort of condensed "check-list" that we could use to show only the items customers want to see?

Greetings, Illustrator 29.1OS X 14.7.1 My custom Symbols panel is not staying persistent.I have tried:Nesting Panel in barFloating PanelSaving Workspace None of these keep the panel after a quit/launch of Illustrator. Anyone else have this?

 created a rectangle and applied this are brush as a stroke.one anchor point does not agree, and the brush in that corner just breaks.I thought moving the guide a bit inward would help (screenshot) but no.When the corners are rounded, it works perfectly fine.

Hi. I have just updated to the very latest Illustrator CC. I used to use the space bar to switch to the move tool, and the command button zoom. Now I have updated this has stopped working. Any ideas how to get his back working. Thank you. Stewart.

a Bug when updating to illustrator v 2.9.2.1 and Photoshop Today 1.15.2025After updating illustrator and Photoshop, recent files when previewed in icon view will say 1 Year, but if you switch to List view they will be correct. I wasted one hour of my time with Adobr Tech this morning trying to convince them that the issue is not in my computer or my copy, the issue is their update.So I'm posting this here hopefully others will let me know if they have the same issue. I think the app is confused if it was 2024 it will tell you one year ago no matter what even if the file was open in December or November all the way back to January..Check the 2 attachements. 

AI is capturing my screen constantly, without my permission. Not while using the eyedropper tool. I have disabled screen recording permission for Illustrator in the system settings but it keeps happening. Im using  the Sequoia OS. I would like it to stop.

In macOS, in every app, in the Help menu, there's a search field to find a menu command if you don't know where it is. In other Adobe apps (Photoshop, InDesign) this menu works great. In Illustrator, it beachballs (brings up the spinning rainbow wheel and delays for several seconds) every time I use it. Seems like this is a recent change. I wonder if this is due to the humongous font menu that I think (?) is also newish. Disabling in-menu font previews helps but doesn't eliminate the problem. My machine is plenty capable with great specs, so that's not the issue. I've already tried resetting Illustrator prefs. No change. Anyone else having this issue?

There is a specific width profile that I use a lot. Is there a way to set it to default? I am doing a lot of short lines with it and its a hassle to change them every time I make them and it also wouldnt be practical to drag and select because I dont want every line to be the same. Is there a better way to do this? The eye dropper tool doesnt copy the width profile styles either and its starting to drive me crazy having to change all these little lines as I draw.Thanks.

I've got a pattern of abstract paths in Photoshop that I've pasted into Illustrator. So far so good. However, both programs have a habit of automatically closing shapes. In Illustrator, the shape (see bleow) is automatically closed (whereas the left hand side should be open).In order to fix this I'm currently having to locate each shape, direct selection of each point, cut it, paste it in place and then re-apply stroke to it. Like the shape as I want it!This process is fine for a couple, but really rather long winded for hundreds of shapes. Is there an easy/faster/better/cheaper way of solving this? What have I missed? As always, answers on a postcard...  

Hi, I’m a new to Illustrator, so I would appreciate it if you could point out any inaccuracies. In Illustrator, when I inflate a group of paths I created using a 3D material, some of the shadows are blurred/distorted as shown in the image below. Some parts of the shadows are not properly distorted and have depth(?) is also created in some areas. Is create mask now gone from the right click option?

Hi, I am grading a sewing pattern and need to move anchor points by 1 mm. I set my keyboard increment to 0.1 cm but when I move my points 10 times to get to 1 cm the distance ends up being 1,06. This increases exponentially as I grade bigger sizes, which is a big issue. How can I resolve this?

hi there, i have a question. i have set a stroke width of 1.2mm on a design. once i select the design and then enlarge it (even though i have the stroke scaling switched off) it looks like the thickness of the stroke has grown.photos attached: notice the stroke width detailed on both photos are 1.2 mm the top photo shows the design after it has been enlarged (with stroke scling turned off) with a new line created at 1.2 mm ( which all lines ont hr design were before enlarging the design) that is clearly smaller than the original lines. just trying to figure out what is going on here.   

I am trying to create this pattern/texture/fabric in Illustrator. I am guessing a pattern would be best to apply this to dozens of items. If you have a better idea to apply it to multiple items let me know. The texture is a thread, a patch if you will. Thanks in advance!

Bonjour, Je travaille sur un logo et de ce fait j'utilise l'outil de maquette pour voir le logo sur différents supports (casquette, tshirt etc...).Mon problème est que j'ai insérer une image de texture (la couleur or) à un nombre présent dans le logo, et donc quand j'utilise l'outil maquette le nombre se retrouve avec un fond blanc, peu importe si je fais le logo 100% sur illustrator ou alors que je l'importe une fois détouré et sans fond dans illustrator, après vectorisation un fond blanc vient s'ajouter à mon logo.Dois-je mettre une simple couleur à mon nombre et oublier l'effet de texture avec une image ?  Merci pour votre aide par avance.Bonne journée. 

Hi everyone, For our business, we need to convert approximately 12,000 files (in various formats) into PDFs. In each PDF, we need to add a Cut Contour line and a Cut Out Knife line.Is there a way to automate this process for all 12,000 files without having to open and edit each file individually? Any advice on how to handle this efficiently would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

Greetings,   My use case includes printing serialized labels to a label printer. My current preference is to print directly from Illustrator using batch actions and dynamic text iterating over serial numbers loaded from a .csv file (as in this video), but I'm open to other efficient workflows including a script, batch saving PDFs to be batch printed from another app, etc.   The issue with my current workflow: the batched print sequence stops for input every time it iterates. I have to hit "Print" on the print dialog for every label.   Is there something I'm missing in the action recording / definition?   Or is the print dialog box inaccessible somehow to Illustrator's batch actions?

I am using the new Bullets and Numbering feature and I've noticed that it works fine, unless you close your document, reopen, and then try to add more lines. The program forgets that you're using bullets and if you try to add a bullet again in the same text area box it indents all of the following lines after the first one.

 I can't create a java script to align all objects to the base of the artboard because it always gives an error on the Y axis. I've tried several approaches but so far nothing Does anyone have an example script how to align multiple objects to the base?on the x axis it works perfectly to center without losing the relative distance between the objects, however I have not had success in relation to the Y axis, either to measure the size of the grouping, to center or to move  

This is yet another "I saw someone do this but for some reason it does not work when i do it" I'm trying to create a clipping mask. The guide says "create a clipping mask by holding alt/option, and wait for this little arrow to come down"When i hold alt nothing happens, when I try to drag it towards the layer below, the cursor changes to a plus, and all it does is duplicate the layer. This is what I'm trying to get: (cursor changes to arrow icon)layers appear staggered and not directly on top of eachother or in the same layer: thank you in advance!
