I recently noticed I can no longer resize or rotate artwork by selecting it and then dragging a corner.  The arrows that used to appear there no longer display, so I have to resize/rotate via the Transform menu, which is much less convenient.  Is there a box I can check somewhere to bring back the old behavior?  Thanks for any tips. I'm running v29.1 on Win10 x64.

Mac Studio M2 Max, 32 GB RAM, 2TB SSD, Sonoma 14.7Adobe Illustrator 2025 29.1 I have many different performance problems in Creative Suite apps on this system. In fact, I find the performance and responsiveness of Illustrator and Photoshop on this new high-end configuration to be no better than on my former 2015-vintage 27in iMac (reluctantly retired after a motherboard failure). These problems affected the 2024 versions and were not improved by the 2025 versions. The most prominent symptom is the extremely poor menu response. A mouse-click on a menubar item frequently results in a multi-second pause before the menu drops down, sometimes a count of 5 or 6. Toolbar response is also extremely sluggish. Hello,Can anyone help me understand why colour shapes no longer fit perfectly to outline of that shape? Working on a font design and this inaccuracy is confusing and making an accurate corner design difficult!  Any suggestions appreciated!

Top toolbar no longer shows replace synbol when moving or scaling a dynamic symbols they reset and loose all modifications.  

I am working on a complex map that a predecessor created initially in ArcGIS Desktop and then moved to Illustrator for more finesse.  The new version of ArcGIS (Pro) is much more cartographically sophisticated and we'd like to get all of the map back into GIS format if possible.  We will still use Illustrator for the marginalia, cover, etc. - everything surrounding the actual map image.My primary concern is map text.  There are over 1,000 text objects on the illustrator map, all discretely layered by type (e.g. road names, elevation, point of interest, etc).  Is there a way to convert the text layers to a GIS format?  It would ideally be a geodatabase annotation layer, but a simple text graphics layer or point shapefile would be acceptable as well.  Really anything that would work in GIS and preserve layering.Is something like this possible?  I would only need to do this once, so if it's a little painful I don't mind - so long as its not as bad as rec

I use the following workflow: Create AI working file that has different layouts for the same item on separate artboards. Place that working file as a link into another AI file and probably some PSD files. The idea is to have one working file placed in multiple other files, and then just update the links in the other files when the original file changes. (Iterations of the same label must be in both an AI presentation file and a PSD file for each iteration It's a bit of a nesting challenge but works for me).  So. Not sure exactly how to describe this problem. Often (but not always!) the following happens: an AI doc which has the placed images and working file is saved and closed. When I open that AI doc later, all the links are placed in the file multiple times, and they don't seem to be linked. The message I get when opening the file, and I get this for each link: "An error occurred trying to read the linked file <insert file name here>. Choose Replace to select another

Hello, I work in a k-12 school where we work with the Adobe Suite programs. I am trying to narrow down the tools and panels within the workspace to make it more manageable for my students to navigate and learn the tools. I have tried multiple ways to save the workspace, export it, and import it onto different computers that the students use with no luck.  I have followed the instructions for exporting the workspace, but when we try to import the workspace document, we receive an error message stating, " File does not contain valid Illustrator Settings. Please select a valid settings file."  I have also tried to copy the document into the workspace folder and modified the workspace folder under~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator ( series #) Setting.  It does not appear and will not work. I have also tried to open the document using the archive utility. This creates a folder for the document with multiple files contained, but when I try to upload this, i

If you drag to work with the preview enlarged, the work area preview will look blurry.The more you zoom in, the more severe the symptoms are.There wasn't until the last version of 2023, but it came up at some point.Due to the nature of the work, there are many cases where the work is small, so it is enlarged and modified.It's quite disruptive to the workflow. To avoid confusion, I thought I'd separate out this issue from my previous post about clean SVG text exports. I'd like my center-aligned text to export from Illustrator to SVG like this: <text id="example_id" x="329" y="403" text-anchor="middle">Example Text</text>  Unfortunately Illustrator always seems to export it like this: <text id="example_id" transform="translate(301 403)"><tspan x="0" y="0">Example Text</tspan></text>  So, regardless of whether you've set your text to be left-aligned, center-aligned or right-aligned, Adobe Illustrator always calculates and exports it as left-aligned text that is visually in the correct place. However we are using the SVGs as part of a UI and we are dynamically changing some text elements to arbitrary user-defined strings - so we need replacement text to be centered too. Currently I am doing this by manually editing the files to include text-anchor="middle" within t

I've been using the clipping mask tool forever with no problems, but all of a sudden today, every time I move my clipped image, it seems to sort of "pan" over the original image instead of just moving the whole image to where I want it. In the screenshots attached, I placed my clipping mask on the left of the artboard, but when I moved it to the right, the whole image changed. I even opened some of my previous work and it does the same there. How do I change this? Was there an update I'm unaware of?

I want blob brush to merge to areas of same color. It only merges when there is nothing visible between existing are and new blob. For example i cannot fill the white gaps with blob brush so that all gray would be joined to be one area, only because black is above gray. Why would i want new area there and not them joined. When is current behaviour useful. Joining areas together takes way too much time.

When using the rectangle panel  to scribe a 3 inch square with a line weight of 1 pt,  I have discovered that the size in the Properties panel increases according to the stroke weight used. In Surface pattern design,  accuracy is critical.  However trying to tweak  the actual dimensions in the Properties panel is proving almost impossible.Does anyone have a fix for this?Would Adobe please, please resolve this problem? 

I have a raster image as background layer in AI and some vector elements on top of it. After exporting this file as TIFF, I get a ghost line on top of it. Here is a close up of the white line. It's also shown on a printed canvas.Here is my exporting setings

Hi,I worked on some vector graphics in Illustrator using a CMYK file. The graphics were intended for print, so I chose CMYK. However, I’ve been notified that they also need the graphics for screen. If I change the color settings in Illustrator, will it automatically convert everything to RGB, or do I need to manually adjust something? Thank you very much.

I'm trying to create a pretty complex appearance for some live text. In the attached image I've replicated what I am trying to achieve, outside of the appearance panel. But when I try to create this in the appearance panel for live text I can't get it to work. I have tried the following: 1) Apply fill in appearance panel2) Transform the fill down a few pixels with 1 copy3) Apply the subtract pathfinder effect Strangely the subtract has no effect, though other pathfinder options like Add do work. Ultimately there will be other fills layered above and below this. If anyone can help me achieve this result on live text in the appearance panel it would be much appreciated!

Hey everyone, I've seen this similar question asked before however none of the solutions seemed to help my problem. I am trying to move an object in a pretty small increment, I have the preferences keyboard increment set to its lowest number, but I still need to move my object 1/3 as far. I've also tried to manually move the object to the correct point with my mouse and it just snaps back to the space where it was sitting which was as close as I could get it with arrow keys. I've turned off snap to grid and snap to point, with no change in my result. I'm basically trying to align a smaller triangle over a section of a larger triangle to act as a shading area. Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

Hola, desde la última actualización he tenido inconvenientes en los estilos de fuente en Illustrator. Si estoy usando una fuente que por ejemplo está en "Bold", la cambio de estilo de fuente a "Book" y hasta allí todo normal; pero cuando quiero seguir editando ese texto automáticamente, las nuevas palabras o carácteres que escriba nuevos conservan el primer estilo, en este caso "Bold". Debo terminar de escribir y volver a cambiar a "Book". Sé que no es un gran problema pero se vuelve algo tedioso tener que estar cambiando de estilo de fuente cada vez que quiere adicionar más texto.  ¿A alguien más le sucede? Y de ser así ¿Ha logrado arreglarlo? De antemano gracias por cualquier respuesta.
