According to this documentation:To use a dotenv variable: process.env.ENV_VARIABLE // ENV_VARIABLE is the name of the variable you want to access.Pretty straight forward node stuff.... So in my root folder I create a dotenv file ".env"there I put:TEST_VARIABLE=HITHEREThen in a js file I run:console.log(cep_node.process.env.TEST_VARIABLE);This is appearing as undefiend.  What do I need to do to use my dotenv file?

Basically, when I use repeat and mirror, the objects that are affected get clipping masks. I have to then manually delete the path that the clipping masks makes around the object. Is there a way I can make it so I don't have these automatic clipping masks when using repeat > mirror? It would save a lot of time. The screenshots attatched show that when using mirror repeat on an elipse and then using pathfinder, the shape takes after the rectangular clipping mask, not the elipse as intended.

I created a rectangle and an oval side by side and make them into a compound path.If I fill the rectangle with a linear or radial gradient, the oval takes on the gradient as well.However if I fill the rectangle with a free form gradient with just 2 points, the oval turns black. I was hoping it would take on the gradient as well like the linear or radial gradient.Is there a way to make it work? 

Hi, does anyone know how to fix this issue, i have creative cloud desktop, and when i open any app it says that my licence has expired. I have paid for my licence, and have tried everything to fix it (signing in and out from my account, restarting my computer and restarting the app). I dont konw what else sould I do.

One of my document's background has turned entirely white around the artboard and I can't figure out how to fix it. The only thing I've found is that pressing cmd/shift/D changes it transparent.

Hello Adobe Comunity, a little complaint so i hope adobe team picks up this comment,I have always used the Warp tool to warp a  type on path. So there is text on a path, and than i modify the path by playing around with the warp tool untill i'm satisfied (select all the point of the path and warp it with the brush). But that stopped working in the latest version!I'm  sure its a bug so hopefully we can use this option in the future again

This is driving me a bit bonkers. I hope someone can help me. After a recent update for Illustrator, when you select a shape and go to Colour Picker, it now gives you a live preview of the colour you select. The selected shape changes colour in real time while your moving the cursor around in the colour picker window.This was an amazing update but it suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago and I can't understand why. I tried contacting Adobe support but they were of no help at all. Some guy was remotely controlling my computer and it looked as if he was using Illustrator for the first time ever. After he clicked around on things that have nothing to do with the colour picker, he just said that feature doesn't exist! I told him that I've been using it but he didn't have any idea about it.Has anyine else had this same issue?Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

I have an illustrator file with just one layer. It contains 4 separate blocks / pages which will come together at the printing press to create an embossed flyer (printed in multiple stages, hence the 4 separate pages). The printer only accepts PDF files. When saving the Illustrator files as PDF, the last two pages disappear.  The file is super simple, the first two pages are the base CYMK colour with no text or images. These export to PDF perfectly. The last two pages contain the rasterised images. These do not export at all, they just cease to exist. I've attached a screentshot of the Illustrator page.  Any ideas?

I've been trying to discover a way to apply the following halftone effect to text in Illustrator 2019:I've got Photoshop, and I can accomplish this in Photoshop, then expand or live trace the resultant image in Illustrator for a scalable vector, but I'm certain that this functionality has got to baked into Illustrator somewhere, and I'm just missing it.Embarrassingly for Adobe, the above image is from a simple tutorial for a free Windows vector editor called Inkscape. It's strange to think that I could download a free app in Windows via Parallels and pretty easily accomplish this, but I can't seem to get it done in the $250/yr Adobe software? Someone, please tell me I'm wrong.Thanks for any help/guidance!Matt

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a new Adobe license and immediately started working as usual. A few weeks before Illustrator updated to its latest version, every time I opened a file or tried to create a new one from scratch, the program would show a white overlay, freeze, and load indefinitely. I've missed important deadlines and continue to miss them, having to rely on other solutions or use different computers. I would like help resolving this issue, as I haven't found any solutions through my research. Hello ! I would like to know if there is a parameter in order to : when you duplicate a layer, the name of the layer don't change ? For example : I want to duplicate the layer "My layer". But, I don't want that my new layer is called "My layer - copy".Is-it possible ? Thank you for your answer

I am having some trouble with maintaining page size (artboard size?) of .pdf's that I create using Illustrator.  I made an illustrator document with an artboard size of 57.5 x 12.5 inches, and I need it to be printed at that exact size.  However, when I save as a .pdf and view the page size in adobe reader, it says the page size 22.64 x 4.93 inches.  What am I missing when I am saving my file as a pdf that is causing the page size to change?  Thanks in advance!

I can't install Adobe illustrator (error 717) on my windows 11 latest version and my IE is also latest version. How to fix it? 

Today I was working on a client project and kept having an issue I've never had before. Every new line or object I make goes to the bottom of the layer, sometimes on a wrong layer underneath the one I'm working in, seemingly randomly. Another example is that I'm copying an object with alt key, and the new object goes underneath the copied object when before it's gone on top. When copy pasting objects the pasted object appears on a random layer below the layer I copied it from. I couldnt even use brush tool on a layer I wanted. The lines I drew all appeared somewhere else. I had a rectangle as background color, locked. The objects, if I managed to make them in the desired layer, would appear underneath the locked layer. Can anyone recognize what's going on and help?

 

Helllo.  I have a new issue where Illustrator crashes after I attempt to open the Windows>3D and Materials panel.  It also crashes when I try to use Effect>3D and Materials>[etc]I've uninstalled/reinstalled.  Downgraded to earlier versions.  Reset preferences.  Even did a registery clean.  Updated ot the latest version (again).  Rebooted after each adjustment.Checked GPU drivers.  Checked for Windows updates.  No updates needed.No changes made to PC (which is 2 yrs old with plenty of RAM and GPU performance).Experiencing the same each time.  CC opens.  All other Adobe products work as expected (Photoshop, Premiere).  Illustrator opens fine and all feature I use do function without issue.... Until I try to use 3D and Materials. Any help is greatly apprecaited! -SteveIt has worked in the past.
