I was wondering if it is possible to copy an object from one artboard and paste it in an different artboard (which has the same size) in the same place. So the cmd+f function but then in a different artboard. Thanks

Since today I am facing the issue with double click to isolate: it doesn't work anymore. It just moves the element or group I am trying to isolate around when trying to double click. I am using Illustrator v29.1 on macOS 15.1.1 (latest versions). I thought that this issue might occur because of the newest Illustrator version. So I downgraded to 29.0.1. This didn't fix the issue. I also tried to reset prefecrences in Illustrator. Didn't fix the problem. I restarted my mac as well as Illustrator. Didn't fix the problem. I also tried to use another trackpad (my old one). Didn't fix the problem. I also tried to use a mouse (instead of trackpad). Didn't fix the problem. I also tried to increase and decrease double click speed (as mentioned on top). None of it fixed the problem. I checked browser tools as well as double clicks on my desktop (which work perfectly) to make sure, that I don't have a systemwide issue with dblclicks. Any other ideas?

Having a super annoying issue with Illustrator.I can't create a new document, open a document or save a document. I'm not getting any error message, just nothing happens when I click. I've tried to use the functions multiple ways File<Save As etc or just trying to create a new tab. I can get around it by Force Quitting Illustrator and then I'm able to use those functions for a while until it will eventually mess up again. Annoying though because I can't save anything I make. I'm using Version 29.0

use the variable function , when i change the data2 or data3, it alos popup the warning ask "you need to confirm "

I am a beginner in using Illustrator and have no graphic design skills.What I didI chose a typeface, the number 4 and traced it using the pen tool.I used the pen to create a second element.I used the Patfinder tool to intersect the two elements.Since I need to have a transparent space along the intersection path i.e. the two objects should have no contact points, I increased the thickness of the stroke to create the separation.Unfortunately, despite research I have not figured out how to change the fill color of the stroke from white to transparent in order to create the gap space effect along the perimeter.Can anyone point me to the steps or an online tutorial to achieve the goal Many thanksArturo 

I have a single layer that has multiple shapes on one layer and I'd like it be separated to separate layers. There aren't individual paths layers, so I can't use the "Release to Layers" command. I there a faster way to get the loose paths to separate layers than having to select each one and manually move it? There are only 15 shapes, but still would be nice to not have to do manually. They're like one object, they don't ungroup but they aren't connected.  Thanks!

Is there anyone tried to run illustrator on Macbook pro M1 Max, did they solve the lagging issue? 

Hello,  I’m extremely frustrated with AI. Every time I try to click to select a path, the system recognizes my drag gesture instead. This issue occurs consistently, and it takes two seconds for the system to respond to my click, regardless of the path I’m selecting. Please note that this is not a hardware problem, as I’m running the software on a new MacBook M4 Pro with 24GB of RAM. The problem happens on every type of path. Could someone please help me resolve this issue, as it’s significantly slowing down my work? Thank you.

Using the current version of Illustrator on Win11. I am a long-time, fairly competent but not expert user of Illustrator.   In a current project, I have having to extract many charts and graphs from the prior print PDF of a book. (The PDF and edition are ten years old; the original chart files etc. are long lost and too complex, in aggregate, to rebuild from scratch. The extraction method, to clean AI files, is working well.)   When I open a book page in PDF and delete all the unwanted content, two things happen.   First, I often find a "shadow" group of text from what seems to be the next page in the book, invisible except in Outline view. It's not selectable in any way I can find. (I have to find the right Clip Group in Layers and delete from there.) Mostly — why and what's going on with that?   Second, the page and chart are the usual jumble of separate bits and pieces, going back to the original drawing structure. I don't know what happending but both of my Adobe Illustrator is lagging, before the update to the new one the old one works fines.  I'm not working on a heavy illustration but still lagging. I selected a text and it show loading icon.  Currently on Mac OS 15.1.1 (M2 Pro) 15GB RAM  Can anyone suggest a fix or is Adobe issue, I paid every month and this is whar I get when I need to use it for something ?  Thx 

Dear experts,I’m encountering an issue in Illustrator where, when selecting text or objects by clicking with a mouse or trackpad, there is a delay before the control points appear. Sometimes, the selected object even follows the cursor erratically. If I press and hold, the spinning color wheel shows up, making the operation unresponsive. Additionally, double-clicking to isolate an object or edit text content often doesn’t work properly.Oddly enough, these problems don’t occur when using marquee selection or lightly tapping the trackpad to select.My current setup is an M3 MacBook Pro with both the system and software updated to the latest versions, and I’m using the latest licensed version of Illustrator.Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!Thank you!

I am working on a project that uses the Scribble effect.  Yesterday everything looked perfect in the preview window.  I shut down the computer for the night last night, and when I got back into my project this morning, all strokes, text, and shapes using the scribble effect seem to be displaying at a reduced opacity (though all opacity is set to 100% in the graphic styles I'm using).  The background color seems to be pushing through and making the objects with the scribble effect applied appear dull.  When I zoom in to 300% or greater it all looks fine and it all exports fine.  It just doesn't preview correctly at anything under 300% zoom. can I change the rulers in Illustrator to match cartesian values - ie positive values are to the right and up, negative values are to the left and down. When I move an object, positive values will move it to the right and up, negative values will move it to the left and down

hi, so I recently downloaded illustrator and I have come across a problem.so when I open up illustrator the screen is blank and it doesn't come up with the recent documents and when I try to open a new document it won't let me. now I have seen other forums and tried the solutions they haven't worked. I have also re-installed Illustrator and it hasn't worked. I really would appreciate if someone could help- Eleni

We use illustrator for generating artworks and also flexible circuits. We generate files that have coordinates that tie up with our SMT machine. We export the .ai files as dxf and then it goes through a conversion process to make the file compatible. All was fine untill Illustrator updated from 2021 and then dxf's are no longer compatible with our conversion process as the dxf duplicates each coordinate.Please can anyone help as our only mac that can run 2021 is now obsolete 😞

Uso uma fonte licenciada pela adobe fonts (lato) que, por alguma razão não é reconhecida pelo illustrator, apesar de devidamente instalada. A fonte já foi adicionada pelo creative cloud, e através do sistema do descktop, e mesmo assim, de ambas as maneiras ainda apresenta como se não tivesse sido encontrada.  Já até desinstalei e instalei novamente a fonte de várias maneiras, inclusive pelo creative cloud. Ocorre de ser reconhecida e eu consigo usar, mas logo se torna não reconhecida pelo programa. Também já desisntalei e reinstalei o programa, inclusive já até restaurei para a configuração padrão e não tive resultado. Quando abro arquivos antigos, ocorre de às vezes o illustrator reconhecer a fonte, mas que na hora de transformar para outro formato como expandir a forma, ou exportá-lo em PDF, a fonte se perde...  

BonjourJe suis confronté à un souci Illustrator 2025 (29.0) que je n'arrive pas à résoudre. Le logiciel se bloque sur la fenêtre de lancement et impossible d'aller plus loin. J'utilise un laptop équipé de Windows 11 Pro 23H2 et d'une carte NVIDIA RTX A500 mis à jour avec la version stable  v553.09 du pilote.Sur la même machine les autres applications ADOBE (Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Photoshop et Première fonctionnent sans problème).Toute aide serait vraiment appréciée, car j'ai beau cherché je n'ai toujours pas trouvé la solution.Bien à vousCordialement,Joseph

The Adobe Creative Suite, in my experience with the following apps: Indesign, Illustrator, are NOT optimized for apple M3 chip. And honestly not even the Apple M3 Pro Macbook itself. FIle opening, organizion doesn't work properly. When you save a new file, it doesn't follow the directory you want/need (which is the file you're working from). It will pop up in some random place in your host-file.Mac's tag's system does not populate within the Indesign, Illustrator apps (when placing, or opening files)Pink screen flashes (Within the app window) when opening illustrator or sometimes dragging it to an external monitor.Locking and Unlocking objects in Illustrator creates a terrible lag of what seems to be a selection of every single object on the pasteboard.My large PDF's will sometimes rainbow wheel in Acrobat, & i have to close. Nothing else comes to mind, but it's been a nightmare, especially because i bought this laptop for efficiency in my workflow, But i'm so, SO cr

Hello everyone, I just upgraded my Illustrator from 2022 to 2025. Before, the Kashidas worked without even being activated by pressing ALT+J. But now, when I do so, nothing happens. I read that, First, the indic option should be activated, and then the paragraph style and character style should be Farsi or Arabic, but it is not working again. Does anyone have any leads or suggestions? I also don't have these options visible.Thanks in advance.

Hi community. How can I make perfect outer rounded corners using shapes, to make Google looking tabs?The black shape I did using rounded of sqaure, and then used the pen tool. But I need to be able to countrol the outer rounded off section as shown with the red arrow.  Thank you.  

When I click on an object for some reason Illustrator thinks I'm dragging it, so even if I'm not holdling down on the mouse it still stays locked with my cursor. It only stops dragging when I click a second time. I'm using a mac if that helps
