I made a circle using the Ellipse tool and used the Line Segment tool to make lines to divide it into 12 sections. I used the Shape Builder tool to make it into 12 separate shapes. When I go to use the Direct Selection tool, the option to round corners is on almost all the corners except 3 of the corners in the middle. What could be the reason for this? Thanks!

Hi community, I was wondering if anyone knew why sudfdenly every new docuemnt I create in Illustrator loads with 3 mm bleed on the top edge only, when I specifically set no bleed be applied when creating the document?Even when I set 3 mm bleed on all 4 sides I still get 3 mm bleed on the top edge only. Do I need to nuke my default document or my settings somewhere?Thanks in advance,Matthew

Buenos días, desde hace un tiempo estoy experimentando problemas con los links de las imágenes.Al abrir un archivo con enlace (previamente empaquetado con todos lo enlaces en la carpeta de Links) me pide que reenlace muchas de las imágenes. Siempre me lo pide, aunque lo haya guardado con los enlaces correctos. Además de esto, amontona muchas imágenes en cualquier lugar de la mesa de trabajo (adjunto imagen) y duplica enlaces.Estoy usando Mac Sonoma 14.4 (23E214) con chip Intel y Adobe Illustrator 28.5.¿A alguien más le pasa?¿Cómo puedo arreglar esto? Cuando hay muchos enlaces es muy tedioso, además de que se multiplican las posibilidades de cometer errores con enlaces defectuosos.Muchas gracias por vuestra ayuda

I have a logo made in Photoshop shapes with specific colors, my client asks me to send the original in vectors, is there a better way than exporting path to illustrator and opening the logo correctly in illustrator?

The alphabets has been change from "mAh" to "nBi' after outlined. There are 8 groups of 2000mAh in the artwork, the fonts type is Roboto Condensed and also provided by client. I created outline to all text and sent out for proofing. We found that all "mAh" became to "nBi' . I checked the artwork and exactly same as the proof. Then I redo it again from the orginal file from and it is normal, "mAh" to "nBi' didn't happen again. You can liternally can tell there is 1 number of the alphabets moved. M to N, A to B and h to i.

I have an AI file (attached) that includes an object set at 50% transparency. When I save the file as a PDF and print from the PDF, a darker rectangle prints inside the area of the bounding box of the transparent object: We use PDF XChange Editor as our PDF software. The box doesn't show up in the PDF on my screen, only in print: It prints fine without the artifact from AI, so I think it must be something to do with how I'm exporting it to PDF. I've tried multiple export settings, but here's what I have currently which is not working:   Another weird part of this puzzle is that this problem only began when we recently upgraded our very old printer. We didn't have this problem when printing this PDF file on our old printer.  Other people on my team need to be able to print this doc, and not all of them have access to AI, so I really need to figure out what's going on with the PDF.  Appreciate the help!

Hi all, I have a very complex, very large artboard which the print size will be 4' x 16'.  I need to split this in two, they will be printed and placed together as one, but are being printed on 4' x 8' sheets.  Can I easily split into two artboards, without loosing the layers etc. Once this is split I would like to move objects around, for example, one that is on artboard 1 I may want to move over to artboard 2 etc. If you have any helpful tips, I would much appreciate hearing!

Hello, I've been trying to find a faster way to select all gradient filled objects (not meshes) in complicated documents and change them to a basic color.This would effectively remove the gradients which cause all sorts of problems when creating an underbase for screenprinting, but leave the objects themselves there since we don't want to remove them or expand them to raster or meshes.I've found this method. It takes WAY too long on any document I've tried it on (all complex documents because that's all we need it for). I'm using illustrator 2024, V28.5 and I've changed my Hyphenation, Character, and Paragraph Style languages to English USA, saved my file, and restarted illustrator but everytime I start Spell Check it show's English USA but once I hit Ignor it switches to Italian. It's a little frustrating, can someone help?

I don't know anything about scripting.  I wanted to know if it were possible to make a script that will rename the artboard that is currently selected to the name of the topmost visible object. I have a 100+ glyphs to export and needed to be renamed its character. Now, what I've done is I have those 100+ glyphs stacked at the top each other and the way I'm gonna export those glyphs is by hiding the unneeded glyphs and only showing the glyph needed to export. I also can't use multiple artboard because the required artboard size of fontforge is 1000px by 1000px and the file will be too large if I make multiple artboard for each glyph. This is the image of the glyph I want to export (That's my handwritting). This is the image of the stacked glyphs. 

Hello everybody;I was told that Illustrator, sends the info to the printer in a way that the printer interprets your vectors as vectors and your raster images as raster images. Is that true? Or does it Illustrator at the moment of printing send everything like a raster image to the printer? I understood that depends very much of the printer system/hardware that you are using, and that's why you always have to set everything in the right sizes and resolution that you need to to avoid any complications. Thank you, 

Since the release of Illustrator 2021, we are unable to place or open .DXF files that are saved from Autodesk Fusion 360. It appears that the version of DXF created by Fusion 360 is AC1014 or (R14).  This dates back to pre 2000, and a lot of Fusion 360 customers are happy with this becuase they want file compatibility with very old CNC machines. Has Adobe stopped supporting the ability to import DXF files of this age or is the DXF importer broken in the new version of Illustrator 2021 (V25) as it used to work in Illustrator 2020? If Adobe has just dropped the ability to import these old files, a warning message would be nice instead of just opening or placing a blank document.

I have added several gradients to a CC Library sourced from color.adobe.com but in AI they are darkened and unusable. I cannot apply them to an object in my AI file. However color palettes (solids) added to the same Library work fine.Any idea why this is happening? Thanks, Paul

After exporting jpg and png, then saving .ai file, when I re-opened it, I cannot select objects in the artboard. I need to add one more subject to my file, but it is as if all the objects on the layer were flattened.  The layer is not locked. Grateful for suggestions.

I have a vector file with texts all converted to curves. I created the file originally but forgot to make notes of what fonts I used out of the hundreds I have installed.  I am trying to use the font match feature, but it gives me complete bogus results. Not even remotely similar results. First of all, I am supposed to select the text but the rectangle shape that I have to adjusts shows up in such way that it is extremely thin and impossible to grab the corner to make it taller unless if I zoom all the way in.  So at this point, this turquoise selection tool has the middle of my text highlighted and already showing me fonts in the window that are not even remotely similar to my text. Once I zoom in and adjust the selection, the font list does not get updated. Still showing me the same, wrong fonts. I know I have this font on my pc. 

(See attached video for the problem) In the new version of Illustrator I can no longer draw over imported images like I used to in CS6.  Before I could draw a shape with the pen tool, toggle visibility off in the Appearance Panel, eye drop the color of what I have drawn over, and then toggle visibility back on for a completed shape. Now when I try to eye drop inside of the shape I have drawn it does nothing.  Is there a way to fix this?  This is really counter-productive to the way I like to create vector images from drawings I have made.

CC 2015.3/Mac OS X 10.11.6What am I missing?When I record an Action using a specific "Image Trace" preset the Action does not retain the setting and, instead, runs with the "Default" Image Trace settings. Surely an Action is able to record custom Image Trace settings, right?

I'm trying to use this game with my students, and about a month ago, the tutorials page was revamped, and the game has disappeared. Any chance of it ever coming back? It was such a great learning tool!

I am hitting a wall. I spent all day trying different things, Blends, wide dotted strokes, Art / Pattern brushes and Effects but nothing "works". Any idea how I could come up with a shape like this:It was the work of Benno Wissing, a designer. The thing that bugs me is that the "pointed arrows" are not "concentric"? Meaning if I try to rotate a shape around some axis, I'd have to "move" the center of rotation as well. That can't be done in the Effects > Transform & Distort command. It's a nice design which I'd love to show my students. Thank you in advance for you kind help and patience. 

Hi, One of our clients has changed the printer settings from the old color settings to the new color settings. Old color settings currently we followed: "Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2-2004)"New color settings to be followed: "PSO Uncoated v3 (FOGRA52)" For new projects, we need to follow the "PSO Uncoated v3 FOGRA52" settings in the overall book. For example, If the graphic artist processes the images in old color settings using Illustrator/Photoshop and produces the .EPS file. How could be validate the .EPS file whether the correct color settigs are used or not. Is it possible to validate the EPS? Thanks,Santhosh

How do I create a Hairline outline in ai? I am printing to a laser that only accepts colour as raster to engrave and a hairline RGB Red as vector to cut along. The 0.1mm stroke does not work.

We are using VB.net to open illustrator and create files using actions and save them into desired locations, we are facing illustrator freeze/struck issue in different times like copy and pasting the images, saving files into ai & pdf, when we check our taskmanager we found that adobe splashkit is using cpu very high. any one help us to resolve this.
