Questions

My Keyboard modifiers seem to work, however as soon as I use mapped modifier keys with mouse, they did work and now they don't work as expected. I use Illustrator 2024 (28.6) on MacOS Sonoma (14.6.1) with use a MX Master 3 and program forward and Backward buttons to Modifier keys (ie OPT SHIFT CMD) as shortcut keys. I am specifically trying to figure out if this is a problem with Illustrator or LogiOptions+. I'm not sure exactly when they stopped if it was Adobe or Logitech software updates. I normally use the 'OPTION' to create a shape (ie rectangle [M]) from the centre out or to change scroll wheel to zoom by holding option, or 'SHIFT' to create 1:1 ratio shapes. *I also used to resize using [V]I know I can use the keyboard and this works but I prefer to use mouse. I am attempting to knock out the front of some outlined, grouped and overlaid type with the pathfinder exclude front function and only the first set of objects are modified. I'm presuming because Illy is looking for one overlay instance instead of a group. I more or less verified that by using the group selection tool for individual sets and the procedure worked. My question is: Is there a way to tell Illustrator to process all selected? Thanks to those who know more than me,Joe

In previous versions, a linked image in Illustrator would display the colour space and effective PPI in the top bar. Now that there's the 'all-in-one' Properties panel in the new version, I can't find the effective PPI of an image.Is there somewhere else in the program I can find that information now?

In the most recent build of Illustrator (28.5) the color picker has changed in both function and usablity.  Previously, one could simply sample screen colors from raster images in the same manner as one would a vector color.  However, now users are forced to hold down "Shift" to accomplish this task, as sampling as "normal" simply results a transparent fill and stroke.     As unnecessarily irritating as that is, what's far worse is color picker's behaviour around fonts, both outlined and not.  Previously, sampling any color with a font selected would — as expected — append the color of that font.  Now, it's any one's guess if it will work at all.  More often than not, I find myself needing to outline the font and either drill down into the group level and select each individual letter path or turn the image into a compound path for the color to be applied.    Needless to say this is infurating, as it makes my workflow signficinatly more tedi

I am looking to deepen my understanding of how the skew function operates within the Rectangular Grid tool in Adobe Illustrator. Specifically, I would like to know how the grid lines are arranged when the skew is set to 50% towards the top in a grid of 100 by 100 points. Could you please provide a detailed explanation of this concept, including how the skew percentage influences the distribution of grid lines and how they would be spaced in this scenario? Hello So I use a CNC machine and everytime I save to dxf it leaves a line around the edge. It can be jagged sometimes and I have to save as a PDF, then use a nother program to re-save it into a dxf so I can send the file to a shop to build. Is there any way to fix this?  Using the latest AI, GPU is on, I tried saving it in every diffrent setting possible to avoid this. Any help would be great.   Thanks

I am working on a layout in Illustrator for a large wall (around 40 feet long by 12 feet tall) and I'm using a raster image for the wall graphic. I had to up-rez an image substantially to get it to the sufficient PPI (about 450" square at 100 ppi). When I place the image in Illustrator, it does not appear. I tried a PSB and it doesn't show up at all, and a JPG looks like it is blank. What can I do to make the image show up in my Illustrator file? Or is there a certain placed image size that is too big for illustrator to handle?  Thank you in advance for any information.

I am in shock right now because I can’t retrieve finished client’s projects that I have been doing for months.😔 i checked creative cloud ☁️ but still can’t find them in my mobile creations.Moreover, i lost all my recent files when i tried migrating to Fresco.I could only recovered very old works that I really don’t need. Freehand Drawing on illustrator on ipad isn’t as smooth as drawing on adobe draw ✍️ please bring back ADOBE DRAW. Looking forward to getting swift help from you, Thank you.

Hello, I have a print with many shapes, paths, live paints etc. The print has around 9 colours and I rechecked using recolour tool and changed them all to the exact colours. Now I need to select all the same colours and group them. But whether I use select same or magic wand the same colours arent selected. Please help! 

When I drag and drop an image into Illustrator, the image is linked and not embedded by default. However when I save it and close it and reopen it, the images embed with clipping masks around them. Why does it keep doing this?

HI,In the attachment you can see a screenshot of my "In Review" page; These works (vectors) remained behind of two groups of vectors with which they were uploaded a month ago, (reviewed and accepted part of them). But they were left behind as if they are not seen by you (reviewers). Can you solve this problem? Regards.

Big Sur runs fine on my M1 Mac Mini, and since I retired and am not making any money using Illustrator or Photoshop, I would like to stop my subscription from taking a $50+ chunk out of my account every month. So: it's still possible to buy disc-based versions of both applications, but is it possible to run them on a recent Mac?

Estou atrás de uma forma de salvar automaticamente um arquivo multiplas vezes com uma pequena alteração no texto, onde eu trabalho preciso alterar o código do produto dentro da imagem acordo com a combinação do que ele precisa, dentro de um molde para que as pessoas da produção possam cortar a imagem sem problema.Em mais detalhes, eu trabalho com painéis de festas em tecidos, que variam de formato e tamanho, podendo ser redondos ou retangulares, primeiramente criamos a imagem e apenas após a compra do cliente que colocamos o código em alguma parte onde não irá atrapalhar a visualização da mesma. Caso um cliente compre apenas o painel de formato redondo, nós geramos um código SKU pra essa imagem que vai servir pelo resto da existência dela para identifica-la caso outros clientes também queiram compra-la.Mas ocorre o seguinte, as vezes o cliente gostaria de comprar o Painel em formato redondo em conjunto com algum outro, e isso já faz com que tenhamos de gerar um códig

As per the title, I updated Illustrator Beta this morning. It asked if I wanted to "removed old version" and import my settings into the new version. I selected "Yes", as I always do. After the update was completed, I went to launch the app from the Desktop app - nothing happened. I went to open a file from Windows Explorer and was told there's no app installed that can open the AI file. I had a look in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator (Beta)" and there's one folder in there. How do I go about getting the app re-installed if the only option I have is to Open it? 

Whenever I try to export a PNG from Illustrator, the top and bottom of the image get cropped. I don't know of anywhere where I would have specified it to crop like this, or how to specify it to export the image just like it's shown inside illustrator. Can anyone help me? Sincerely, High School Illustrator Noob

Hello everyone, can I have a request from people who can make scripts? I need a script that will create an artboard for each object or group I choose and then create a pdf according to my pdf profile. Like this:1- It will create a separate artboard for each object or group I select. It will delete the old artboard. The resulting artboards should also include the stroke thickness in the artboard. Artboard numbers should start from 1. 2- It will save all artboards separated according to my pdf profile.The name of my PDF profile is "CTP-PDF". It should detect and save this profile.The resulting PDFs should be created in a folder named "CTP-PDF" in the location of the illustrator document and saved in it.The names of the PDFs should be (name of the ai document)_(artboard number). It doesn't matter if I'm trying to scale one object or multiples. I will select the objects, go to Transform Each, and Illustrator locks. Can't do anything with the file; I have to Force Quit Illustrator. I'm using the most recent version: 28.6.

Hi,  I am using Illustrator version 27.6.1.  I have an .ai file with a single artboard sized 504 wide by 130 pixels high.  On this artboard, I have a rectangle drawn at this same size (504 wide by 130 pixels high) with a 4 pt black stroke aligned to the inside, which covers the entire artboard.  On top of this rectangle, I have pasted my company logo, which I copied from an .eps file. Earlier today, I went to File | Save As, and chose *.SVGZ (SVG Compressed) as my Save As Type.  Doing this with the default options (whatever they were at that time) resulted in a file with the .SVGZ extension that was 17 KB in size with excellent image quality.  I imported this .SVGZ file into a third party application I use, and it worked perfectly inside this application.  (Basically, I was following the recommended method for importing a logo into this application; the imported logo appears on several diffrent reports within the application). Next, I c
