I find myself digging this option from the transform pane all the time, is there a way to assign a shortcut for this simple operation? I can't get a hang of the Reflect-tool for some reason, it's quite clumsy.

Dear all, I have a font installed through Adobe Fonts. Usually, when I export the illustrator file it will also export the font together. However, this time it is not exporting the font that I need to send to the print company. It showed a permission restriction thing when I packaged the document (see attached). But since the font is from Adobe Fonts I thought it would copy the file and save it in the package folder. Does anyone have any idea why it won't copy? The font is Klavika family. Thank you.Karen

Hello, I've saved down a bunch of icons from Illustrator as SVG to be made into an icon font. Most are just fine. But a few of them are distorted, the points and curves are jumbled by just a little bit here and there ... apparent when I open the SVG file back in Illustrator too. In the example below, you can see that the edges of some of the shapes have moved when saved down (the font is Helvetica). Is there a step I should take to save shapes down correctly as SVG from Illustrator CC 2014? Regards, Pete

When creating a single color opacity gradient and then expanding the shape to create separate objects, you get messed up results: A clipping mask with two solid rectangles in it regardless of how many objects you told it to create when you expanded the shape.Here are the steps I took and the results I expected vs what I got. Before I report this as a bug, does anyone want to tell me how stupid I am and that this is a feature of Illustrator and not a bug?  If not, I will report this as a bug. I don't want to waste the dev's time if this is the expected behavior and I am just expecting too much. 

How can I access free packaging templates for illustrator? Nets for boxes. I know I can draw my own die libes, but I just want something quick . Thanks 

25 years using adobe. For the past 3 years, there's been an issue with the key commands for either the hand tool or the zoom-in and out when using the key commands. It either will not switch from + to  - when zooming or the hand fails to work after a while when I go to use the space bar. The solution is to click another tool and then try again or shut down Illustrator. I see you suggest this for everything, "shut down and restart" the program, and want to make one thing clear in case you're not aware, I'm in the middle of WORKING!!!! So no, I don't want to make sure everything is saved and shut down all the other files I have open at once and shut it all down because you failed to do your part in fixing the software everyone pays to use in the first place. This happens at least 2 or 3 times I use Illustrator.Also, this is a very fundimental tool used all the time by everyone so I would think it would be a top priority for Adobe but obviously after 3 years it's not which is just pa

Hi there,  I'm trying to batch save from a dataset and I need help preventing the saving from overwriting the same file. If I'm expected 200 files, it over writes it 200 times, but in the end, I only get one file.  I've tried fiddling around with the settings, however, whenever I select the checkboxes for 'override action save commands' or 'override action export commands', nothing happens after I click 'okay'.  If I leave these unselected and click 'okay' it proceeds to batch rewrite the same file over and over. Please help!  I am recording the following action for my batch save: File > Save As> Adobe PDF Illustrator version: adobe v 28.5

Hi all, I know that this is a common problem, but I wanted to be sure to get the most up to date advice: when I print using Adobe products the colors of my work are washed out. I primarily make art with paint and canvas/paper. However, I was hoping to cut some cost and make prints of my work, but my colors are off from what they should be. I have the color management set to CYMK as I'm looking to print, but this doesn't change anything with the printed product. 

I have used clipping mask to make oval shaped photos, as advised here.Now, that I have them set up where I want them, I need to have some of the portraits reversed (looking in the opposite direction). Is there a quick way to accomplish this. Thanks as always in advance! 

Basics-We make traffic signs.  1 file may have 80 street name signs on it.  Name/ Suffix and Block number for each.Question-Is there a way to have two sets of text be linked so you can type it once and both sets will change? In the attached picture the Suffix and block number for each sign are just slightly moved because of the arrow position.  So we are forced to make two sets of layouts for printing.  The text though is identical in type and size just the position is different.Can I link both sets so I can just change one and the other one will follow? ****The Find and Replace option is good but there are 80 signs on a file and some may have the same suffix and block number. Howard Way 2900  and Custard Way 2900. Find and Replace would change both of these and that is not what I'm looking for.

Hi Everyone, I’m having a bit of trouble with Adobe Illustrator and was hoping someone could help me out. I’ve been working on a project and suddenly noticed that some of my layers have become invisible, even though they are still listed in the Layers panel. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Checked the layer visibility settings. Ensured that the layers are not locked or hidden. Restarted Illustrator and my computer. Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how to troubleshoot this issue? Hey everyone, I'm working on a project in Illustrator where I need to edit a PDF file since I wasn't provided with the original AI file. The problem is that the PDF is causing Illustrator to lag severely. Every time I try to select an element, I have to click multiple times to be in the right layer and be able to move it, and the program frequently freezes or becomes unresponsive. It took me 2 hours to add 2 Elements and remove some (sth that usually takes me 5 min)  Is this normal behavior, or is there something I'm missing that could make this process smoother? Any tips or advice on how to optimize working with PDFs in Illustrator would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I have been having this issue for a few months now where whenever I click on an object it gets selected a few seconds later (the delay varies evey time) sometime not even getting selected until i move the mouse curser around during which the object will suddenly snap to the curser even if i let go of the left click. the issue doesnt matter if the file is big or new with one object in it, but it happens more with bigger files.Selecting all objects is a nightmare now and isolating clipping masks is near impossible without mutiple attempts at selecting the object properly.  I recorded my screen but I dont think the video shows how the issue happens. Macbook Pro - 2021M1 pro chipSonoma 14.5 Illustrator v28.6English يدعم العربية (supports Arabic)

I understand that to select objects based on their fill color using Adobe Illustrator's Magic Wand tool, I can choose the Fill Color option and set a Tolerance value between 0 and 255  for RGB or 0 and 100  for CMYK. Lower tolerance values select objects very similar to the clicked object, while higher tolerance values select objects with a broader range of the selected property.However, I would like to know the exact process Illustrator uses to calculate and apply tolerance for selecting objects based on fill color in both RGB and CMYK modes. For example, if I have an object with RGB values of (60, 90, 120) and set the tolerance to 20, what range of colors will be selected for each channel? Additionally, could you explain the process for a CMYK object as well? Thank you.

I was working in illustrator saving as a PDF file - had like 10 layers going on. accidentally closed illustrator and when i reopen the PDF it's flattened all the layers and i cant seem to even edit the individual elements?? it shows up as a 'linked' file PDF.. PLS HELP  mac user

I've figured out how to actually turn on a specific stylistic set using this syntax:textVariable.textRange.characterAttributes.stylisticSets = STYLYSTIC_SET_NUMBER; The problem is that, by default, all fonts that support stylistic sets have 20 such sets defined in the UI, with most of them grayed out if not actually available. However, when I try to loop through the available Stylistic Set options of a selected text using a for loop, even the grayed out ones are picked up.Do you know if there is a way to validate the actual available style sets so that I can count them properly?
