Hi everyone,I'm trying to add a custom menu item to the context menu (right-click menu) in Adobe Illustrator. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is possible using either the Adobe Illustrator SDK or ExtendScript, or any other method? If so, could you please share some guidance or resources on how to achieve this?Thank you!

Mac OS Ventura 13.4 / Illustrator 27.9 On the latest release of Illustrator, I've noticed my custom PDF presets are changing every time I open a file and utilize them. Case in point: I opened a file, selected a PDF preset that I created where "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities" is DEselected. What I'm doing is saving a copy of the file with a bleed, and don't want the editing capabilities since it tends to make the file quite large. When I go in to edit my presets to check it, it is already DEselected, just as I had created it, but when I try to save using the preset, this option is SELECTED when I choose my preset. I've tried changing it again and again, with the same result. Not sure what is happening. See images of preset according to the edit screen and the present when selected to save as PDF.

Hello all,So i'm having a problem.I have to translate a lot of files from Portuguese to French and i want to do a mass find and replace.I'm looking in the community and found 2 topics talking about this but it isn't working when i try to use it.I dont have a great knowledge in scripting so i'm asking for someones help.i found this topic from carlos:https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/illustrator-find-and-replace/m-p/3495220#M9279 I added NEW YORK to my text in illustrator to test the script but I get a error (added image to the topic) All i'm doing is creating a .jsx file and going to file script and click on in. Am I doing anything wrong? Thank you all for the support.  

I've accidentally saved the same brushes file twice to my User Defined Library - the easiest thing ever - but I can't figure out how to delete one of them!!My illustrator version is 21.1.0 / I'm using a Mac / thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,I am really wondering if any1 can help me with a script which can select only the text on all art boards and change the CMYK percentage to the desired. We have an option of selecting all the text on all the art boards and make the CMYK changes on all the texts. But we have text in multiple colours on all the art boards and want to select the text only with a certain CMYK percentages.Meaning if some text has C:75% M:68% Y:67% K:90% ("original" values)-> I only want to change that to C:0% M:0% Y:0% K:100% ("desired" values)The script only selects the text with "original" CMYK values and changes them into "desired" valuesSo i am looking for something like this:Input box of the script:1. option to choose text or not: Change Only the text or non text as well2. Asking about the existing CMYK% values which needs changing3. Desired CMYK change valuesI dont even know how to code but I asked the chat GPT for the code.   I recently installed Windows 10 Pro on my computer, and now every time I open Adobe Illustrator, "error loading plugins" appears on the screen, I tried to solve it and no tutorial was effective. 

In the paragraph window, I don't see the paragraph alignment marks to the left or right. I checked the forums and this is a known problem for the Middle East version. I chose the language of English, supporting Hebrew, I changed everything necessary and still can't put punctuation marks in the right place. It makes me very sad. what can we do?

I don't know how best to describe what is going on so I'm just going to go step by step and show the results to try to get some kind of explaination as to why this is happening.  For the sake of simplifying this example, I'm using names such as ORIGINAL FILE, ACTION SAVE FILE, and MANUAL SAVE FILE to help differentiate the files. ORIGINAL FILE is created.  This file has several different artboards within it and I only need to save one of the artboards to a different location.  To help streamline this, I created an Action that would save that artboard # to the designated folder.  This worked perfectly fine up until I got a new Mac then the issue started happening. ACTION SAVE FILE is created from action (that previously worked flawlessly on older iMac) and saved to destination folder on local drive. I then need to manipulate the ACTION SAVE FILE to prepare file for the production software.  .ai file is saved as PDF.  However, since changes we

But it acts weird.I have attached screenshot.. there is only one difference white color removed.Right one transparent, left one still with white bg. like, what is this sorcery? Hello everyone 👋 (sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language) I was using my Ai 2023 as usual when suddenly I got the error message saying that Ai can't save my illustrations because I don't have enough access privileges ID: -5000 when I tried to save my file to my macbook. I don't know what triggered it because it never happened before and i was so confused... I've been following the tutorial that I could find here, saying that we should change the system preferences and make Ai have full disk access i already restarted my laptop too but it didn't seem to work... and I'm getting desperate because I need to submit my assignments 😭 anyone knows how to resolve this?  I really appreciate it, thank you so much!

Export is cropping the artboard 1x1 to the much smaller graphic rectangular size?

Illustrator is giving me an error when trying to open certain files. I have logged out of Illustrator on both my ipad and Macbook. I have deleted and redownloaded the app. And I am still not able to open certain files. Any suggestions?

I am used to Illustrator CC 2018 and have been using it since last week. It started to have some errors so I downloaded and used the latest version since then. Today, I'm having this issue that I think is very stupid.On the "Export for Screens" window, everytime I reopen the program it resets to original specs which are PNG and has a suffix. It didn't do that on 2018 and it drives me mad. I always use it with JPEG and this really takes a lot of time and creates errors in my workflow. I prefer the CC 2018 over this new version but I cannot download it through Creative Cloud anymore. sad.

Hello there,I've been having an issue with Adobe Illustrator where, shortly after starting the software, I'm unable to manually enter specific values in any of the fields used to adjust design elements, such as x-value, y-value, width, height, angle, and more. Although I'm typing in the correct value to replace the existing one, Illustrator doesn't seem to recognize the command, and the value remains the same as before. This occurs consistently across all fields.The only way I can change the value is by using the dial or the up/down arrows next to the field, which is less efficient and less precise than simply typing in the desired value. This problem is particularly frustrating when I need to make precise adjustments to my design.Oddly enough, when I quit the app and reopen it, the problem goes away temporarily, but it returns shortly after that. It seems like something may be causing the software to malfunction after it's been running for a certain amount of time.I've tried entering

I've been provided a logo in an .ai file, and there is a unique shape that has been subtracted from a larger shape.  How can I create a new, stand-alone shape from that transparent cut-out?

I manage hundreds of files that contain 20+ instances of the same linked image. Since the v28.5 update, the 'Apply to All' option is missing. It is a MASSIVE time killer to relink these images one by one.PLEASE FIX!!! 

Anyone having a problem with disappearing text? I'm not sure when it disappears or what causes it. It doesn't disappear completely, I can select it, copy it and then replace the original text.  I can't select it and bring it to the front as that doesn't change anything. I can't see any reason for it, its a common procedure for me, nothing different. To me...it seems like a glitch. A program issue? I've not seen it happen with any other graphic elements. Just text. All look of text were typed on a curve...I don't know if that's an important factor but it is a common one.

Import a CAD pdf and it takes 2 minutes just to group... I can't move the group to ythe center of the page because it takes too long to run through every motion just to remember what I prompted it to do... There's just something wrong  with every new iteration of this program. Fix  a couple problems and introduce totally new and different problems with each release.Isn't there a way I can opt out of all the flying butresses of the GUI introduced every month?/?/?Give me a break.

Is there a way to drag a Multi-page PDF file from your desktop to the artboard and import the other pages in the PDF document instead of just the 1st page alone?

When selecting two objects and then the key object, Illustrator is shifting the top object off of the artboard and moves it repeatedly. Both centered vertically and horizontally. See recording.

I upgraded Illustrator from CC 2021 to CC 2023 and smart guides work differently. For example I need to move my mouse pointer very close to a path before Illustrator shows me I'm pointing somewhere along a path. The same goes for aligning objects, the lines that appear to indicate that the object I'm moving is aligned with another object don't appear unless I struggle for a good 30 seconds to get close enough to where it should be aligned. The smart guides don't really appear to guide. Why was this behaviour changed between 2021 and 2023? I've checked this question: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/illustrator-2022-26-0-1-smart-guides-is-not-working/td-p/12509728But in my case Pixel preview and snap to grid are off, I use the default settings of Illustrator 2023.
