I’ve been creating my own plugins using Extendscript for quite a while now, and all of a sudden I cannot get any of my plugins to work. When I launch Illustrator, they show up as blank panels instead of showing what they are supposed to show. Example below: There’s about a 50/50 chance when I start Illustrator that ONE of the three plugins that I have will run, but almost never do they always work. This only started happening when I migrated to a new machine, but running a code check says that there is no problem in my code and this is backed up by several of my teammates being able to use the plugins without issue on other operating systems.My specs are as follows:Adobe Illustrator 2026, version 30.8.0 CEP 12.1 (PlugPlug 12.1.1.3), Chromium 99.0.4844.84 macOS 26.6.2 (build 25G83) Apple M5, Apple Silicon

When I open the illustrator app everything is blank. When I try and open a new document basically samething, the new document window opens but I can not see anything or choose anything.       {Renamed by MOD}

I’m having a recurring bug in Illustrator. When I create a freeform gradient, at some point no matter what I do the gradient doesn’t actually fill the shape. I fill in color stops, but the shape still appears white. This recently happened to a shape I had previously successfully filled with a freeform gradient--I clicked on a color stop to change it, and the whole thing turned white and now will not fill. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could try? Here’s some info: Macbook Pro, macOS Tahoe v. 26.5.2 Illustrator 2026 30.7 Color Space: RGB I’ve toggled CPU/GPU on and off, no improvement Quit Illustrator, reopened Turned computer on and off  Checked to make sure opacity and spread were workingI’m attaching some screen recordings of what happens. Please let me know if you need more info! Would love to get to the bottom of this, it’s very frustrating. 

Hi all,This is a very frustrating bug - around 50% of the times copy & paste won't work. I select an object, press ctrl+C, and then pressing ctrl+V produces nothing as if the clipboard is empty.I cannot reproduce it as it seems random, sometimes it will copy & paste, sometimes it won't.This makes working with Illustrator extremely hard.Might be worth mentioning that copy-pasting from Illustrator into Photoshop resembles the same buggy behavior - it will randomly work or not.Please advise on how to resolve this.Cheers

Backstory: I just updated from a laptop with 32GB RAM to a desktop with 96GB RAM. One of the reasons for upgrading was 32GB of RAM wasn't enough to run more than 1 file in Illustrator (and I could no longer have multiple programs open), often it would still freeze and crash. Adobe says you only need 16GB of RAM to operate Illustrator. So flash forward to today, first time using my new overly powerful computer and Illustrator is still using up ALL OF MY RAM. More specifically AI Robin 2025... I have 96GB of RAM... One file open... I'm using effects but this is ridiculous. It's like it sees available RAM and decides it should use it all.I have gone through every solution I can find online (like turning off background save) and it changes absolutely nothing. I am beyond frustrated. Anybody else having this issue? Or have solutions?

Is anyone else having an issue with Illustrator update’s past 30.6?  I seem to be unable to use / open any of the updates past this version on my Windows PC. I can click on Illustrator and it goes to open, then it doesn't and instead brings up an error popup to submit to Adobe. The popup doesn't say what type of error just happened and I cant find anything to help with this online. I was hoping with more updates it would work itself out or that I perhaps had to wait for a Windows update. I have just updated to the latest version of illustrator and made sure my PC is up to date as well but I still cant open Illustrator, now have to un-install and re-install version 30.6 so I can use it. I'm honestly not sure what to do here. Any ideas / suggestions would be most appreciated.

Image trace has lost it’s ability to trace hand illustrated images accurately, Illustrator 2024 still had those features.

Hello, I am trying to create an alphabet in Hindi, but the combined consonants are not displaying correctly. I've tried using Myriad Devanagari and Adobe Devanagari. They look fine when I plug them into Adobe Fonts online, but when I put them into Illustrator, they are broken apart. Screenshots attached. Thanks!Morgan

I oulined the font in illustrator then exported the file as a jpg. The oulined fonts are not showing up in mu jpg file.When I save the file as a PDF and i send the file out to press, the fonts are veiwable in the pdf but when my printer prints the file the fonts are not viewable. The font am using is Myriad Pro. 

I created a 335MB file in Ai. I initially saved it as an Ai file but then saved as a PDF. I was working on it as a PDF file I saved it. Then I tried opening it to make some more updates. File will not open at all. I’ve never had this problem before. I have more then enough memory on my computer. It just doesn't make sense. I deleted Ai and uploaded again. Thought maybe there’s something wrong with my version but nothing is helping. 

Why can’t I set my regular illustrator to be the default open app when I have illustrator beta installed? I don’t want to use Beta for everything, but it is nice to have here and there. It doesn't give me the option to “set as default” in the “open with” drop down. On a Macbook Pro. 

Hi, I’m having a serious performance issue with Illustrator.The program is extremely slow and laggy, even with simple files. There is a noticeable delay when moving or selecting objects and zooming.The problem also occurs with a new empty document. Photoshop, Premiere and AE work normally.I have already reinstalled Illustrator and reset/deleted the preferences, but the problem remains.My computer is a Lenovo Legion 5 with Ryzen 7 6800H, 64 GB RAM and RTX 3070.Any ideas what could be causing this?

Recent intentional changes by engineering changed the package downloads created for offline networks.  The files used to be self contained .zip files, and are now .exe files that pull down the application from the network.  Working with tech support I found this was intentional change, but it defeats the purpose of having an offline license and ability to create a package. Additionally, the workaround for this is to go into pre-generated packages and find the appropriate package to download. while this does function, it does not allow us to use the packages screen to see the most recently downloaded application and version, and does not allow us to see whether an application is “up to date” or “not up to date” as displayed on the packages main page.  While the workaround provided will suffice temporarily, it does not provide the functionality we have come to expect from our Adobe contracts.

When does Adobe plan to release other apps for Microsoft Copilot+ PCs ARM architecture-based processors? like Affter effect, Illustrator. My computer is Surface pro 11 I was waiting for this for long time. Any recent update or release date please?

I have been trying to move and drag selections and found no solution on here. When I use the select tool to move my object, it simply drags a rectangle out and then de-selects. I didn't click on a negative space. As you can see my layer was selected. The layer is unlocked.I updated to Illustrator 2026 in hopes of resolving this, but the issue continues. When I try to edit preferences, that option in the drop-down is gone. There's only "My settings > Import / Export Settings" in 2nd image. What is going on here?I’ve looked through dozens of other posts under the terms “select,” “move,” and “drag” and found nothing. No one seemed to have exactly this issue where I’m able to click, but it just brings up a selection rectangle and de-selects.

I have created a suite of icons that have live type on a circular path. When I resize these (by dragging the corners) the type jumps off its original orientation and I have to reset it again - see screen grab. This doesn't happen if I scale it using the % field and I need the type to be live in order to develop more icons. I have had this trouble for many years and just manually reset them all. I’d like to request JPEG XL (JXL) support in Adobe Illustrator, including both importing and exporting the format.JXL offers better compression, higher quality, lossless options, HDR support, and is designed as a modern replacement for JPEG. I've designed a flyer in Illy which has some PNG's with transparent background.  When I print this out, all the PNG's have a faint, white, semi-transparent background where they should be fully transparent.  I've tried changing several print options as below:Default print (setup for best quality print)- Results in the faint white backgrounds as describedDefault print, but  Advanced > Overprints set to "Discard"- Results in the faint white backgrounds as beforeDefault print, but  Advanced > Print as Bitmap checked- This prints out correctly!  However what seems strange, is that instead of the page being slightly darker, the whole page colour is the same colour as where the transparent PNG's had lightened it in previous printouts.  Ie, the page colour is the same colour as the "transparent" PNG backgrounds, where the PNG background was lighter in comparison to the surrounding page background.Default print, but in the printer setup preferences, I change

Good morning,I have had a problem for several days, even weeks, because when I use Illustrator my copy/paste works 1 time out of 4 out of 5, out of 10 even sometimes, that is to say that I have to Copy several times before Pasting option. is possible, and this only on Illustrator, I have a very good PC and recent Illustrator in the latest versions and which worked normally before that, can you help me to resolve this problem thank you in advance

I need a version of Illustrator that is no longer available through the “Other Versions” option in the Creative Cloud program. I need v28 because a critical plugin I use no longer supports v29 or v30. Google searches tells me that support can provide downloads for older versions.

I have completed editable vector logo artwork in Illustrator 2026 with carefully designed multi-stop metallic-gold gradients. I want to add a very subtle, shallow, semi-gloss beveled/embossed appearance without changing the existing paths, anchor points, silhouettes, negative spaces, gradient colors, gradient stop locations, or geometry. I do not want 3D extrusion, inflated lettering, visible strokes/outlines, drop shadows, glows, or raster effects. The final master needs to remain clean, scalable, editable vector artwork. What is the best non-destructive Illustrator 2026 technique for adding restrained internal edge highlights and shading to simulate a polished raised-metal surface while preserving the existing gradients? I’ve already tried 3D & Materials, inside strokes, Inner Glow, duplicate/offset fills, Generative Shape Fill, and Photoshop, and none produced the desired result.

error message appears when attempting to open InDesign as well as illustratorI have experienced this error when attempting to open InDesign and illustrator several times over the course of a few months now. There is a fix that I found through the Adobe forums that involves repairing the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable program files and it works temporarily, but after a few weeks the problem reappears. I have tried installing several versions of both programs to see if it is just affecting a specific version, but it does not appear to make a difference. Please assist when possible, as I require authorization from my company’s tech support department in order to perform the fix every time this problem occurs and it is interfering with my job. Hi everyone,I'm a graphic designer in an internal communication team, working mainly in Illustrator. Our campaigns start from a key visual, usually an A3 poster, and I need to adapt it to several digital formats. Each format has its own content rules, which I've already defined. For example:Newsletter banner (640×480 px): only the headline, the key visual image and our company slogan. No subheadline. Lobby screens (1080×1920 px, vertical): all the information from the key visual must be present, but recomposed for the vertical layout. Other formats follow the same logic, each with its own rules.I'm not looking for a simple "resize". I need each format to be recomposed: deciding which elements appear, where they go and at what scale, following the rules of that format.The final pieces must also stay fully editable (text, image, vector shapes), because our project managers often request changes after delivery. Anything that flattens or rasterises the artwork won't work for us.I'd love to
