Does illustrator extendscript have an event listener?I need a certain function to be activated when a object/group is selected.I am planning to actually use this in cep extension, it will be some change in UI depending on number of selected objects. 

 Can someone advise?I have a shape, that is filled solid with black. It has reduced opacity.It has a weird jagged stroke, evn though I dont have a stroke applied on it.I have changed to different layer, and still shows. I have restarted all, and still shows.Can someone advise?

I had this issue in the past. System fonts not showing up in Illustrator. I just migrated to a brand new machine and most of my Google Fonts installed on Windows 10 do not show up in Illustrator. Some of them that do show up, have display issues. I just contacted Adobe support, but they cannot provide support (so they say) as these fonts are "third-party" fonts and they are "unable to provide the troubleshooting". They asked me to contact Google directly. Since all these fonts show up in every other Windows 10 app I have installed on my system, this is clearly an Adobe issue. I prefer using my (non-cloud) system fonts, as I had three instances in the past, where Adobe just randomly dropped fonts from the cloud (licensing issues with thrid party font providers?) and my documents were left with a missing font. I am having a recurring issue when I am trying to print out something tiled from my HP Officejet Pro 7740 printer, which I have set in Illustrator's print set up to be not double-sided. It always prints double-sided anyway. Totally useless for a tiled mockup to be double-sided. I do not know where I can even look to further assure that it prints single-sided, since the only place that I know of to toggle that setting on and off is set already to off. Hello, On my new computer, also using Windows 11, the toolbars are really really small.I tried increasing the display magnification to the maximum (300% from the recommended 200%), which made a little difference. Changing the screen resolution didn't help.  How can make the toolbars big enough to read?

yesterday, Objects on Path was workin, today Ai simply shuts down and completely closes.Using simple objects to get used to using the tool.

A client has sent several illustrator swatch libraries that I need to be in a CC library so they are usable in other programs. Is there an easy way to do this other than manually adding each swatch??  Or is there a way to have swatch libraries in Photoshop? - I can only get them to add to main swatch palette and that is not going to work for me.Thanks

This looks like a new visual bug. There seems to be a problem with the way Illustrator is displaying clipping masks. It has only started happening recently.  The image below is taken from a file that worked fine before. The wavy lines are contained inside a clipping mask (the same shape as the blue section). I have included images of the lines outside of the clipping mask (above) and inside the clipping mask (below). Any separate objects placed behind this clipping mask have a section missing (see black shape behind). The clipping mask and the black shape are completely separate. The black shape is just a rectangle.  This only happens with clipping masks that had been created in the past. Any newly created clipping masks do not have the same problem. However this is quite a big problem for us as we have hundreds of files, each with multiple clipping masks. Is there a way when searching for similar fonts in the character menu to get them to show as Regular weight instead of showing them in the thinest weight  possible?

Hello, In our plugin, we are trying to save as tiff image which was working fine in 27.2 version of AI.After that i updated to 28.7 and now 29.6. in these versions, i came to know that when i am trying to save tiff, getting this error.Error: "An unknown error caused the operation to fail"error code is returning some bigger random number (on debug - checked)here is the code i am using./////////////////const char *fileFormatName = "TIFF";err = sAIDocument->WriteDocumentWithOptions(parent_dir, fileFormatName, kFileFormatExport | kFileFormatWriteAs | kFileFormatWrite , NULL, false, NULL);////////////////////////////after executing this line, getting that error.But file is getting saved and i can able to open the same in Illustrator also.is there any changes related this with new versions ? Regards,Gopinath.

 

Hello to All, My Illustrator is displaying the short instruction videos without me even hovering over any tools. Often times I have to go and hover the mouse over the video for it to go away; the videos don't even disappear when I've got the artboard in presentation mode - so annoying!Has anyone else experienced this and managed to... MAKE IT STOP?! ;D

After Upgrading to macOS Tahoe 26.0 and Illustrator29.8.1some of japanese font arrangement got wrong,I had tested in photoshop, it seen not have any problem.only happen in Illustrator, i tryed uninstall, but unless 

When i export a file in Illustrator that is made with the meter scale, large artwork size, and then i export the pdf, my crop marks are 10cm long wich uses too much space for nothing.  I have to recreate an artwork with mm and export it with lower version of pdf to make it work...I would prefer to make it work with the latest version of pdf to work faster. Thanks 

I'm having problems starting with version 29.8.1. When I manipulate artwork that I already have saved on my PC, it opens with parts of the artwork displaced, logos off the artboard, the background displaced, and parts of the logos spaced out. However, returning to version 29.7.1 magically returns everything to normal. What could be happening?

Question about Adobe Fonts licensing and delivering files to clients Hello, I have a question regarding the use of fonts included in Adobe Fonts. If I design a logo using a typeface available through Adobe (with my active subscription), I understand that I am allowed to use it freely in my projects. However, I would like clarification on a few points: 1. As a designer, when preparing a logo, fonts are usually converted to outlines, so they can no longer be modified or edited as text. In that case, does the client who receives the final logo still need to acquire a separate license for the typeface if they will use the logo commercially (stationery, signage, website, etc.)?  2. Would the client face any legal issues if they don’t have an Adobe Fonts subscription, considering that what they are using is only the final logo I deliver (already vectorized or as an image)?  3. What are the circumstances Ai loose it's custom shortcut keys. I assigned shortcut keys but it is frequently  lost. I saved it in a external file but couldn't find a path to replace it. How to fix it?      

I ask the community to back my petition to the Adobe Illustrator creators for excluding or getting rid of the annoying pop-up explanations on how to use the tools in Illustrator. This help is extremly unpleasant and irritating while working, they pop up and linger like forever and when you need to focus they are just distracting. Could you please get rid of them? Or maybe tell me how to disactivate them if there is an option I am not aware of?Thank you!

Trying to re-establish settings in Illustrator. I noticed the shortcut key for showing the Grid is not working. The assigned shortcut key does not have a value assigned. I know I can assign a key there. However, most keys are assigned to others. What should be assigned?Thanks Windows 11

Hi,I'm on Illustrator CC 19.2.1, Mac OS 10.10.3We're a sign maker and have a 6 colour large format output device - CMYK augmented with light versions. It produces good results in CMYK, and using those extra inks produces some surprisingly good results at some of the harder to match pantone spot colours. To get spot colours out of the printer, we have to put spot colour information in.What we wanted was a colour chart showing a full range of spot colours and their CMYK equivalents on one sheet so we have a permanent lookup, using pantone solid coated (C), alongside pantone colour bridge coated (CP), the latter switched over  to CMYK.Here's the problem, on output we can only produce a print PDF that holds 27 spot colours, the rest are switched over to CMYK. We had no error warning whilst making the file, no errors etc. First sign of a problem is final checking the output PDF files and finding most of the spots are now CMYK. Hi everyone,I’ve been working with Illustrator for a long time, and one feature I still wish existed is a quick shortcut to center objects directly to the artboard. For example, in CorelDRAW, pressing P instantly aligns any selected object to the center of the page/artboard — such a simple time-saver.I know we can use the Align panel to align to the artboard, but it feels like too many clicks when you’re doing it repeatedly.Is there already a hidden shortcut for this that I’ve overlooked? If not, I’d like to suggest that Adobe consider adding a built-in shortcut. It could really speed up workflows.Thanks!
