Hi,I am recreating a large floor plan. I thought this might be a great job of image trace since I had a very clean digital pdf of the floor plans and every thing is either black or a single shade of grey. All lines are mostly straight with a few exceptions for door icons. However I am getting terrible results. Most of the image disappears and there are no straight lines, only blobs. I've go through all the presets and tried many alteration with "Black and white logo"  "Technical drawing" "LIne art" and "Greyscale" however I keep getting terrible results. Im a bit confused because, although large, the image is pretty simple. I am using Illustrator 2024 and I attempted to place the image both as a pdf and a jpeg. Any Ideas?

Hello! I'm trying to set the transparency grid to "Medium" when creating a new Illustrator document via ExtendScript, but I'm unable to get it working. I live traced this rampant lion.  I now need to color in all the white areas with red. I tried to use a clipping image (red rectangle) but it said it was too complicated.  

Hi everyone,I run into a problem with illusrators envelope-distort effect. Using Envelope Distort → Make with Top Object to map a gradient/striped texture onto a wavy loop. At the two crossings, the overlap collapses into a sharp point, then expands again. Also, everything outside the loop outline is hard-clipped. In a tutorial (orange example), same loop shape shows broad, flared overlaps, and artwork appears visible beyond the selection during editing. My result (blue) doesn’t—overlaps pinch to a point and anything beyond the path is cut off. Please send help

Hi! I was trying to start a project in illustrator, but whatever I try it does not save or it takes a million years. I have tried redownloading, restarting a project. I have done everything. I even set my laptop back to factory settings. I have tried to work on it on another laptop and that does work, but on mine it is so slow and even if it does safe it takes way longer than normal. I have checked if I have enough storage and I do and for systemrequirements I even go way over.  Is there anyone who knows what to do or should I contact the sneller for warrants. Thanks in advance! 

I need install plugin Aid-cut Label. It support illustrator 28, but i can download oldest 29. Any solution?

My illustrator won't open a cloud file and I can't download it. This is a new issue for me. I cannot open individual swatch options in the Swatches window by double clicking as I usually can. I can edit the color of a single object or create new swatches, but I can't edit existing ones. This includes both user-generated and default. If I can open individual swatch options, it does not apply any changes to objects with that swatch applied. Basically, the only way I can edit the color of objects is by creating new swatches or changing the individual objects' colors every time. See video below for example.

Bonsoir, il me semble qu'il y a un problème dans les dernières versions Illustrator au niveau de la suppression des styles de paragraphe et de caractère. Ils réapparaissent tout le temps. J'ai une version un peu plus ancienne sur mon MacBook, la 29. 1, et là la suppression fonctionne. Merci de vos nouvelles et bonne année à toutes et tous. Frédéric 

Bonjour ! Je souahite animer un objet 3d que j'ai créer sur illustrator avec l'effet 3d classique. J'ai vu sur une autre page que je devais pour cela l'exporter au format GLTF afin de pouvoir l'animer sur after effect. Cependant je n'arrive pas à exporter mon objet dans ce format. Est-il possible de contourner ce problème ?Merci Bien cordialement

Illustrator 30.1.When I move an object with a gradient in blend mode, the gradient seems to stay in place while I move it, and only applies after I release the cursor. As you can see from the screenshots, I am not moving the gradient, but rather moving the object itself. This is very annoying; I've never had this happen before. I'm very disappointed that I updated to the new version.Is there any solution?

This bug has been around for years, it got much worse the last 12 months. The problem is Illustrator cannot detects and uses a specific GPU like other GPU accelerated programs do, Blender for example.  My setup is a Dell Precision 5690 (Ultra 7 16H and RTX ADA 3500 12GB VRAM) connected to a Dell Thunderbolt docking station. So in addition to dedicated GPU, both CPU and docking station have built-in GPU. Illustrator seems to be using whichever it detects first and ignore the rest. In my case, it would be the one from Dell dockting station which has zero VRAM.  Adobe, please fix this already!!

I use this all the time as I create large adjoining walls for booths that have to match and for the elements i use, i need to increase the Pasteboard. Has this option been moved or renamed for some crazy reason?Crazily, I can load an old document that i have increased the pasteboard size, and I can use that, but we should not have to use workarounds for such a fundamental feature!

Is it possible for fonts to display the list as a floating panel. And can we have1- Ability to select text in the artboard while the "Font Selector" panel is open.2- Show the preview of the fonts on the right side inside "Font Selector" panel.3- Ability to write the text inside "Font Selector" panel and display that text as a preview.4- Following #3, Ability to drag the desired font text from "Font Selector" panel to the Illustrator artboard

Would be a really great feature to keep layer structure, when grouping elements.At the moment everything grouped automatically collapses into one layer.The simplest way to explain it would be similar to having saved selection sets.The benefits for grouping across layers include:Managing different components/groups of design elements while retaining layer hierarchyKeeping grouped colours or thicknesses or object types separateBeing able to transform a selection without losing layer order, and without losing that selection later.Having visual layering and overlapping keep fidelityKeep elements apart for animation(after effects) but grouped for control in illustratorPlease consider adding this as it would be very useful.In my current workflow I group elements that have been sorted by layer, group to keep these together, make changes(size, position and artwork changes), then once all groups have been finalised, ungroup and sort into layers again. usually over complex artwork/designs/scenes

I am creating a 3d can artwork and the can is a deep black. I had the label with the black in the background, but then I lost the lighting effect so I took the background out since I created the 3d Can Black, but now my lighting has this jaggedness to it from the lighting. I have played with the softness, roughness of material, rendered with ray tracing, change the document raster render settings to 300 dpi. I just need it to be smooth like the can next to it (old design and we are updating) and I am just hitting a wall.

ILLUSTRATOR: Grouping Causes unpredicatable mask. Items become invisible Grouping 2 or more items seems to create a mask and some elements become invisible. It seems very random since it has been happening with simple object and more complex one alike. Grouping should just mean the items are selectable and positionable together, with not altering the appearance. Basic function for file management and productivity. This is happening since the last update Dec 2025 V30.1

The error preventing Illustrator from opening is: dvasystemcompatibilityreport.dll was not found. I have tried numerous methods, including using the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to completely remove everything and reinstalling from scratch, but I still cannot open the Illustrator application. Other applications like Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere are still working normally.
