Questions

I recently downloaded a trial version of CADtools but have decided I don't want to use it because it is slowing down my work flow. How can I completely uninstall this plugin and all of it's associated files? I can't find a plug-in folder for Adobe CC, and I've gone through and deleted the CADtools files in the Illustrator CS6 plug-ins folder. Thanks!

I have been having a problem recently with the Export for Screens option not functioning. It seems no matter what I try, I am consitantly getting the same error and nothing happens. I can save out each individual artboard, but this is a huge waste of time. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

I have the following illustration below in which I typed text on a path, but I'd like to have the bottom text be right side up (like how the 'Top' text is) and I've tried various options within text on a path, but just can't seem to get the 'Bottom' text to flip and be upright per se. How can I go about fixing this?Thx

I've been having this issue for a while and have no clue what's up. When I scroll it gets stuck and starts scrolling endlessly and I can't use tools like pencil or pen.

Hello,I need BIG help with vectors in Illustrator.I need to send a logo for printing in 2 days... I thought it would be good to do in Photoshop, but printer says that it must to be created from vectors. We will make a patch from it on clothes.I have the logo ready, but I need to make a vector version. When I go to Illustrator and do automatic vectorization, it is generally good, except for a few details. When I want to edit that detail,  it is still visible on the printout and I don't know what to do... 😕😕Can someone please help me?

Hello! I've been encountering this issue where my libraries panel is entirely unresponsive. I have the most updated version of Illustrator, but this has happened through several updates. For some reason, my library is not responsive to scrolling. It will stretch out as if it was an image if I were to try to pull the panel down to make it larger (see image below). This is frustrating since I keep all of my client color palettes here, and kinda defeats the purpose of creating a library for them since I can't access it. Anyone else encounter the same issue?  

I seem to be having trouble adding elements to the Library. Right now, when I select a Layer with groups of several layers and drag it into the library, the library turns it into a flat object (Artwork AI). When I try to add that group to a document, the layers are all gone and I can't edit it. I also notice that if I go into one of my libraries to work from it, the library panel will freeze and not let me do anything within that library or even go out to my list of libraries. I have to close and restart AI to get the libraries panel to function again. Does anyone know how I might fix this, or the best place/forum to go to get troubleshooting help? Thanks!!

HI all. I'm having an issue where I can't reorder the color swatches in the palette. If I drag a new green that I've added to be down with the other greens, it either stays where it was, or reorders everything. If I quit Illustrator and fire it back up, I can edit the palette. Any idea how to fix it? Thanks. Ai 29.4 (to avoid the font mixups), MBP M3 Max running OS 15.6.  

This is happening intermittently and all appears normal on screen when the EPS files is saving. It's only when closing and then reopening the EPS file that the movement occurs on a single layer. Normally this is a print layer that moves when the other layers are paths.

Hello! After a illustrator update about a month ago, Ive had the issue of patterns that I use showing up like this in illustrator. When i export it to images, and preview the file itself, it doesnt show like this. Is there a setting thats possibly turned on thats making my patterns look like this? This was previously not an issue before.If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm making a sign for someone and the naming convention is first initial last name. For example John Smith would be written J. Smith. The problem is that whenever someone's name begins with an A and I write "A. Name" it changes the formatting to a numbered list which has a larger space between the initial and last name.  When I turn off numbered list, the "A." disappears. What can I do to turn this off? 

I can't delete this folder called "Southridge". I made it over a year ago and tried to move it into the "LTI jobs" folder but it won't move or delete. Its been this way for a year and I've tried several times over the year.

Currently I tried to create gradient meshes from an underlying image, what I do now is first create the shape then sample colors for each vertex one by one using an eyedropper. When you directly create a gradient mesh from an image, the colors are automatically sampled. Is there a way to do similar thing such that the colors of all the vertices can be directly sampled at the same positions from the underlying image?

I have a bug that after I change the units preference from points to mm. If I then go back in to preferences after, and change the keyboard increment distance and click ok, the transform palette and rulers, etc are back in points. I then have to go back in to preferences to change it again.Also, I use cmd+K to access this panel and for years have then just been able to type a new increment, but now it starts typing in the search bar instead. Really annoying to change over 20 years of learned experience.

Hi,I want to recreate a similar design to the one below.Using type tool, I had seperated the club name and total by using the Tab feature. Then I made a copy of each line. The problem here, since I have both (club name and total) on the same object. I can't change the appearance (as a result the Graphic style) of one without affecting the other. Any tips or tricks that can solve this issue ?  

Suddendly open new file is not working after a while. When you click on it nothing happens.  This problem goes away if you close and restart it, does anyone else have this problem?  very annoying as I am using Illustrator all day!

I’ve been using Illustrator to make trail maps for years now, and the ~2019 changes to the Object > Path > Simplify… tool have made my job very difficult and frustrating. The old version of Object > Path > Simplify… worked incredibly well – I could smooth out linework like trails, topographic contours, streams, etc. in bulk, greatly reducing the number of anchor points while barely changing the shape of the lines (in fact it would improve the appearance of lines).[Here’s an older writeup I did of the technique I was using before 2019; search for “Technique: Smoothing lines (or polygons)” on that page. Hi everybody,I'm new on this forum. I have a question about Illustrator.-> I have to modify the size of a map screen shot so that the size scale written on it (in meter) fits the size of my document in millimeters.On the image below, the red line is 50mm, and I have to manually shrink the map image so that the scale given by google (in white) fits the size of the red line.The shrinking process is quite groping along, is there a easier/simpler/neater way to make it?Thanks for your reading

I'm creating a vector/svg file for an lasercutting and had been using Illustrators offset path for kerf offset on an old set up with no issue, updated recently and now i'm noticing some weirdness where its not creating an even offset, my offset is super small, and so i'm zoomed in, pls see screenshot. I've restarted a few times now and still getting this. Am I missing something, help pls. TIA!  

El error aparece al querer agrandar un cuadro de texto o imángen, pero comienza a fallar todo, ya e instalado y desinstalado varias veces , pero no funciona, tengo la última versión Illustrator 29.7.2. Pensé que era problema de mi pc pero no es, la tengo repotenciada y continúa el error.

Built-in meaning no scripts/plugins that I need to install. Is there an actual option or setting somewhere in cleanup that will automatically target empty layers? Kind of like the option to clean up unused panel items or empty text, etc. Thanks!

Hello all, I've been researching how to create a good solar eclipse for weeks for a company logo. The tricky part was it also needed to be transparent. I found a few tutortials that helped me create the attached image. However, it ended up blurry. I have tried to research my way around why this is and how to fix it, but to no avail. I created this ecplise by using layered elipses, each with their own colored gradient and added the Roughen effect to the outer most elipse. then I created several transparent masks to make the moon look transparent. Is there any other way I can do this that won't make it so pixelated and blurry? Thank you in advance.
