  Previous Behavior: When selecting a path with the Direct Select tool, handles were visible.Hovering over a handle would trigger snapping and display the “handle” label  without requiring the anchor point to be selected.I could snap handle-to-handle.I could draw guides from a handle using the Line tool, thanks to snapping.  Current Behavior: Handles no longer snap or display “handle” when hovered.Handle-to-handle snapping is gone.Drawing precise guides from handles is no longer possible.  Impact:This significantly reduces precision for technical illustration work and makes accurate line drawing more difficult. Request:Please restore the previous snapping and Smart Guide behavior for handles. The current implementation removes essential control.

Ok, I hate Illustrator and prefer Photoshop. Everything in Photoshop just makes more sense in my brain, but I need a vector conversion of a raster image so I can import it into Cinema 4D. I used the image trace tool to create the vector paths, but while the PNG version that I imported had a transparent background, Illustrator turned into a white plane behind my white shapes, and I can't figure out how to delete it, so that all I'm left with are my vector shapes. I tried separating them by the Release to Sequence Layers and moving them out of the layer. I also tried creating a new layer with a black rectangle and subtracting it. Nothing seems to work! What do I have to do? Every time I import into Cinema 4D, that plane gets imported as well.

I have tried for weeks now to find a solution to this and so far I've got nothing. I am exporting models out of Solidworks Composer as svg files but when I open them in Illustrator, there are no consistent lines or objects. All of the paths and curves are made up of tiny little lines or lines that have been broken up and segmented in weird spots. I then have to spend a painstaking amount of time essentially rebuilding the model in Illustrator by going along and joining all these paths together and closing that many gaps that are present. I have tried so many different settings from the Composer side to Illustrator side and have gotten nowhere. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious or there's a setting that I'm overlooking, but I would love some help understanding what I need to do differently to save a lot of time and headache.  I have attached a screenshot of my Solidworks Composer file and the export settings, as well as what the end result is in Illustrator. Hi, I can't seem to figure out how to get the stroke on this text to not overlap on itself. I want to look like this tutorial attached. Any help is appreciated. 

Can anybody help.... I have been trying to update Pantone connect plugin today with no success. I keep getting a permissions issue, all log in details are correct, I have tried everything suggested by Adobe live chat and in the end they suggested the forum.I have an old mac, but do not have it cluttered with stuff, I only use it at work with Adobe CC, the only plug in I needed was Pantone connect and now that will not update (or now install, as I tried an unistall/install thinking that may be the answer). Any help or ideas would be appreciated, as I cannot use any of the new colours (eg P2202C) which are now pretty basic.I have attached a pic showing the message I am getting, I work on a stand alone Mac, not connected to anything else, no one else uses or has access to it, also, I am not a techy person who messes about with settings etc, so nothing has changed, other than updates.Ideas welcomed

Hi, I fund something I believe is a bug.I have the latest version, and when the "Snap to Grid" option is enabled, paths do not highlight when hovered over with the Selection Tool. When "Snap to Grid" is disabled, the highlighting behavior returns to normal. I'm on Windows 11 and latest Illustrator version.

Up until recently, I have had no problem sending output from Illustrator to my duplex laser printer on my Windows 11 system. Even now, when I print a PDF file from my browser, it still will print on both sides as requested. However, now when I print from Illustrator and specify duplex printing, the request is ignored and the print job comes out single-sided. I am not sure what I need to do to get the program to honor my request to print on both sides of the page.   Things I have tried: Updated the printer drivers to the latest version. Went into Windows settings and changed the default for this printer to double-sided printing. What else can I try to troubleshoot this?

Hi Adobe Support,I’m experiencing an issue with a file I’ve used many times before in Illustrator. Upon opening it recently, I noticed that the text on the back panel has completely disappeared. Illustrator didn’t display any missing font warning, which I found odd.I verified that the font is installed correctly on my system (Mac), and I even reinstalled it to be sure. I also closed Illustrator, installed the latest update, and restarted the program—but the issue persists.Interestingly, the same file opens just fine on my coworker's PC, and the missing text appears as expected on their end. This leads me to believe it may be a Mac-specific issue.Could you please help me troubleshoot this? I can share the file if needed.

Hi all, I'm an Illustrator novice and I'm using it to vectorize my calligraphy for a return address stamp. I'm using CC 2017 and didn't have the problem with previous versions of Illustrator but now I'm running into a problem. When I use the "image trace" of black writing on white background, it inverts is to black background and white writing and I can't change it back. Do I have something set incorrectly? This used to be simple. I appreciate any advice!

Hi, I'm having trouble figuring out why the burgundy stroke is showing on the top of the original text, whereas the pink stroke is angled to be to the bottom left of the original text. The burgundy stroke is duplicated from the pink stroke. I've shown the transform tabs for both strokes in the attachments. Thank you for any help!

Hello I have just realised that either guides/rules are off or the rectangle - as you can see I wanted to make it fit the lines perfectly and at the big zoom I realised that something is off... because when I tried to make this rectanle fit it by adding 0,001 or 0,003 or similar number or inches to either hight or weight it made either of side slightly out of guide line or not close to ruler/guide.Is there a possibility that something is not even? I dragged these lines from rulers long time ago as a help for myself - each line is exactly 1 inch from the border ofthe  canvas size Please help me it driving me crazy!! Ps. Both of the pictures represents the same - bottom part of rectangular and bottom guide line and as you can see one side is going beyond this blue line and one is not touching it....

If you're still experiencing this issue, please go to the Illustrator Uservoice forum and upvote/support that post.I'm guessing this is just a bug or an inescapable prompt with the new program updates, but in the off chance ... Is there any way to get this "Generative AI, now in Illustrator!" to permanently go away? I've run through it with the "Go!" option multiple times, and I've even fiddled around with generating stuff, but it still shows up multiple times a day as if I haven't. It keeps popping up over parts of files I'm working on and interrupting me. I think it's been 3-5 times today alone. Resetting preferences (or not resetting them) makes no difference. I'm using Illustrator 28.0.   

I have made 4 or 5 patterns before, but I don't know what is going on with this one. Every time I make the clipping max and hit pattern-make, the pattern shifts a little. when I try to save the swatch, it shifts even more. Here are pics of the pattern, then before and after I clip, and then what it looks like when I try to make it a swatch. 

I'm having an issue with the Shape Builder tool where – no matter what I do, subtracting leaves a faint "stroke" from the object that lies "behind" the merged object. To illustrate this I added a cyan rectangle behind the object which was created with the Shape Builder tool by overlapping a cyan rectangle over the red rectangle and then subtracting the cyan segment. These objects had no stroke and were pure solids. Despite this, I tried expanding the objects and expanding appearance beforehand but nothing seems to work and the faint non-stroke appears anyway. As it is, I can't really use the shape builder tool for anything. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Hi yall,I'd like to make the black stroke look like the screenshotted stroke in blue underneath. The difference is subtle, but the internal corners are softer and the line weight varies slightly around the letter, not sure how to achieve this??Not sure if its done as a stroke or after expanding, but I've tried Distort/Roughen and different brushes and its not looking right, any help appreciated thanks!!  

Expected Behaviour: The eyedropper will sample fill and stroke colors with transparency with the correct settings.Actual Bahaviour: The eyedropper samples the correct color, but ignores transparency, even when the settings indicate it should.To reproduce: Ensure that the eyedropper tool is set to sample all appearances. Make two shapes. Give one a different fill color and set its transparency to 30%. Select the other shape. Hi, I'm trying to create a graphic of overlapping ribbons of varying widths. See attached files - I started with a thick black stroke and customised the stroke width along its length. Then I've added white strokes on top and used those to divide the black path (after expanding it), to end up with the coloured version.  Is there a better way to do this so that each individual ribbon is smoother? It's been challenging to get the curves to transition smoothly - see 'ribbons 3.jpg' attached for highlighted problem areas. I'd also like to add a shadow in the corners to give more depth to the graphic - any tips on that would also be appreciated!

A couple of years ago it was not possible to address CC Library items by script. Did this change until now? If so: Is there any documentation about it?   Thanks and regards Nils

Hello everyone. I was wondering if there is a way to remove vector (gradients,shadows etc.) and raster (sometimes with clipping mask) beyond certain dimensions altogether.So far we are using different methods like cutting vectors with shape builder or pathfinder,more complex vectors we need to rasterize then crop it to fit into  predefined dimensions,its long and tedious work.I was hoping there is a faster way to to this with maybe a plugin or diffrenete methods that I dont know yet. Please see png attached (exmaple). A. is what we get from our costumers.B. is what we should get as the final result. Please see - blue line.pngThis is what we usually get and there shouldn't be anything (vector,raster) beyond the blue line.

I have exhausted all suggestions on finding out why the Scissors tool is greyed out. Any help is appreciated. Windows 11
