I'm one of the 2 designers on a team. The other designer has been packaging up the icap file and sending it to our client to edit. The client then packages up the changes for InDesign and emails us back the idap file. The problem we're having is he is the only one who can successfuly open up the idap file and make the design edits. 

Good Morning,We are using InCopy in a team workflow. We all installed the Fonts we need over Adobe Fonts by activating them (Source Sans Pro). Everybody can see them avtivated in the in Creative Cloud desktop app, but in InCopya) one colleague is not able to use one style of Source Sans Pro. The light style is not available.b) and another team member can not use / see the whole family. Does anybody has an idea, why that happens?Thanks & RegardsRuth

We're having a strange issue. Documents with a list of references, first step, set each reference as a Text Anchor. Then set the callout in text as a hyperlink to that anchor. Simple enough. Worked fine up until about a month ago. Now after setting anchors and hyperlinks, then saving, upon reopen, links are gone. Previously set text anchors are not anchors any more. Very weird. URL hyperlinks save properly; just links within the documents are affected. Issue occurs when saving both across network and on local drive. Multiple users experiencing this, all on most recent version of InCopy.

Does everyone that accesses an InDesign file with InCopy links have to be using the same version of InCopy? Is it okay for some people to update there software while others do not? Will this cause conflicts in the document. I am not sure if I should update if my co-workers editing the same documents do not.

Morning all!So, here's the situation:Colleague 1 creates an InDesign file, saves it on the main server. Then creates an InCopy Assignment, saving it on the CC Files Server.Colleague 2 opens the icma file on his/hers computer, corrects the file and checks everything back in.Colleague 3 opens the InDesign document, but on her/his computer, the connection to the InCopy Assignment file is gone.Colleague 1 still has all the connections active.Is InDesign not able to work across different workstations when working with icma files?Cheers all!

I'm working on 250-page InD documents, exporting each chapter to an Assignment. For the Assignment Options, "Assigned Spreads" is checked. Adobe instructions indicate that I should be able to see (but not edit) text boxes that are not exported. But the running footers do not appear.I tried "Placeholder Frames" and "All Spreads" Assignment Options, to no avail.I tried skipping the Assignment and exporting All Stories. No luck. I tried exporting the running footer as a story from the Master page. Nope.  It's very difficult to edit such a large document without seeing the page numbers! The copy editors are not happy. 

Does anybody have any guesses for what would cause this? It appears that InCopy doesn't create a horizontal scroll bar at all (even if it wasn't needed there would still be the graphic element for it) or it is placed incorrectly somewhere behind the bottom panel. Reinstalling InCopy solved the issue temporarily but it returned shortly thereafter. (I'm not having the issue myself - trying to help a user who is.) If you look at a close up things appear not to be aligned correctly:My only guess would be that it has to do with the screen resolution but I've not seen this before. Thanks for any help.

When viewing tracked changes, I am seeing all changes, regardless of who made them, in the same color. At first I thought that other readers hadn't set their own unique colors, but when I asked the team abotu it, one team member showed me what she is seeing, and she is seeing different colors for each team member. How can I set my screen to view the different colors like she is seeing?

Our team is new to InCopy. We had successfully done a couple rounds of editing and sent the proof to our copyeditor, who is on a PC. She was having problems accessing the file with all of its fonts (even though everything had been working fine before). When our designer went to fix it, he found that all his assignments appeared to have been deleted as well as all of his images. He had to go searching for images, and in one case, recreate the image.We are trying to figure out what might have caused this to happen. No one intentionally deleted anything. We keep our files on dropbox, however we've been careful to always check files in when done with them. The files have not been moved around, but kept in this one location. We asked another team for help understanding why this happened. They claimed that they have never had the problem and maybe it's because we have chosen to have our process be to open the InDesign file in InCopy and open assignments from there, rather than open

Good morning! After repeated attempts to open InCopy files on my computer, I’m asking you for your help. My colleague is on Mac. I am on PC. He designs projects in InDesign, then places the files in InCopy for me to edit. On a couple of projects, when he loads to InCopy, he can see the files, but I can’t (see attached). Shows up as a blank screen. He was able to fix the problem one time by Unlinking project from InCopy, deleting it and reassigning it, and it worked. He tried it again with recent project and it didn’t work. We are both working in the same versions of InDesign/InCopy (version 16.1). I have tried refreshing/updating ...everything I can think of. No luck. Please help. This software is essential to our production process.

Hi, Suddenly I can't save icap files as idap files. I was working with an icap and when I went to save it as an idap, it saved as a PDF instead. I tried saving a few other icaps as idaps and it saved as PDFs instead. I don't know what happened. Has this happened to anyone else? It looks like InCopy updated today so maybe that's having an impact?? Thanks for any input.

Hi there, community! I've downloaded a fun font with loads of glyphs with alternate letters, to make a nice logo. I can SEE the glyph alternates in the panel, but when I double click on them, either nothing happens or the 'normal' letter is pasted in text. The default language is Dutch, but I have set the text preferences to US English. So that shouldn't be the problem...  Really appreciate your help! Kind regards, Irene

Support Team,I am looking for Incopy version 16.01 system requirement document and cant find it. Is Incopy and InDesign have the same reuirement? 

I have to edit a document that is housed on a company server. Multiple times this week, InCopy has crashed randomly while I'm in the middle of writing a note. If I open the same document from within InDesign, it shows that my InCopy persona still has the assignment checked out (the one I was working on at the time of the crash), so it can't be worked on within InDesign. But when I open the file in InCopy again (which takes ages), my work isn't always saved. It's hellish spending lots of time writing complicated explanations of grammatical changes, only to have them suddenly wiped out during an arbitrary crash. I'm using the latest version of InCopy (16.1). Does anyone know what is going on?

Is there a way to create a table of contents in InCopy CS6 without using InDesign? I know that InCopy is typically used together with InDesign, but I try to use it on its own, as a more powerful replacement for Word. Thanks.

Hello.I have a few questions for a cloud-based workflow: 1. Is Creative-Cloud Files a good option for a cloud-based-workflow? 2. Can multiple users check-out a story at the same time? If so, how can this be avoided? 3. What happens when a user is changing a story (while being offline) and in the meantime another user makes changes in the same story? What happens if both of them sync again? Thank you.

When I type text into a note, this text is shown backwards. Does anyone know how I can solve this so that the text is shown normally again? 

I have multiple people editing the same InCopy file with all different user colours. I see everyone as the same colour and name when edits are highlighted in tracking. The edits appear as my name and colour when another user makes the change. I am the only user having this issue, everyone can see different users and colours. 

Hello! Sometimes, maybe half of the time, whenever I save my progress while working in InCopy, it will just jump back to the very beginning and I have to scroll back down and find where I was working. This is a little tedious after awhile and I cannot find anything online about why it would do this or if anyone else has the same issue? Is there anything that I can do in the settings to keep this from happening? Thank you for any help. Linds

Hello everyone, I have some issues with InCopy and InDesign. The editors use the InCopy to wirte their texts and therefore send them back to me as .idap as to open them on InDesign and finish the magazine I am designing. I have some issues though when I am trying to open the idap a message pops up on InDesign saying that the Selected package file requires an indesign document that cannot be found. how do you want to continue? I have two options: browse or ignore. I proceed with browse, i found the missing package and then I get another error message saying: The story bla bla bla.icml in the package file is no longer part of the assignment. how do you want to continue?   Ignore or save?I've tried both ingore or save and still i get no results. I get a blank page.What have happened? Did the user on InCopy not packaged the icap? Or what?I need your help ASAP!Thank you!

Hi, just wanted to confirm you can't export from Incopy as a .doc document? E.g. word?Either plain text, either pdf?
