I upgraded to Indesign CC 2025 and noticed that now when I place images in Indesign, the image resizes when I am trying to adjust the crop window. Before now, the outer placement box resizes the crop on the image, while double clicking inside the image reveals the resizing boundary. How to I switch it back to the old way of resizing? It is stretching and cropping all of my images in odd ways because they seem to be interconnected now.  Thanks!

I've spent hours troubleshooting why suddenly the end notes are importing into the same text box and therefore not linked. I've converted my Word doc to .doc, tried selecting static. None of these "work-arounds" are solving the issue. Is this yet another new another Adobe bug? Thank you for your assistance.

I have an Indesign Book with nine associated Indesign files; I'm having no issues with eight of the files when sharing for review. With one file, Share for Review was working fine, but after some significant changes were made to the file (pages moved, major design elements moved and adjusted) the Share for Review function crashed the app every time. But ONLY with this one file. Very notable point; the Share for Review of this file seems to actually work, and the updates I am pushing are reflected after each update – it just also includes an Indesign crash, which is super annoying. I am mainly wondering how I might check logs or otherwise troubleshoot/debug this file to identify what  is causing the crash?

Hello, I am using Windows 11, and when I zoom in or out with my mouse while holding alt, the Application Bar becomes highlighted.  This means that when I hit a keyboard shortcut such as "V" or "W", instead of switching to the Selection Tool or Preview Mode, the View or Window menu pops out of the Application Bar.  It means that I have to click inside the pasteboard or hit esc twice in order for the Application Bar to deactivate.  I know that doing this, clicking inside the pasteboard or hitting esc a couple of times, is a simple and small workaround, but sometimes it means I lose the process I was halfway through and also this problem doens't occur on a Mac.  I know in the grand scheme of things this is very small problem, but as I work with InDesign on Windows 11 most days it is a minor issue that is growing to irritate me!  I basically just need to find a way to ensure the alt key stops activating the Application Bar.  Are there are Windows 11 users

I think I'm in over my head. When I go to package my book, it tells me I have an error that 501 out of 505 (about) photos are in the wrong color scheme.  I've looked at as many posts here as I can find but haven't found an answer. I've looked at some YouTube videos, but I can't seem to follow them. In some cases I'm told to click here and, on the drop-down menu click here. The click here part I can't find. I don't know if  I want to change the RGB to CMYK. If you can tell me what setting I have wrong, I would appreciate it. I"ve tried to include the photos I thought were necessary, but if you want another, I'll try to get it.   {Renamed By MOD}

So I have this particular file that when I turn on the Dynamic Spelling to check Spelling errors, it underlines almost every word. I have checked the Preferences >Dictionary and it is already in english (See first screenshot below). When I check what is the spelling error under Check Spelling it doesn't seem to have any suggestions (refer to screenshot 2).  Other files that I open seem to be working fine, so I think it's just the way this document is setup. What should I check and do?  I want to have a correct workflow of using Spell checker rather than turning the dynamic spelling off. I want to know how to fix this?

How to get those page numbers that contain tables, Collect the results into a notepad.I'm trying to quickly find pages that contain tables. 

Ok, so I was just checking on some responses to a post I made here a couple of days ago via my email and I went to try to click on a link that would take me to that post and instead I got an adobe sign-in prompt. I signed in with my email and it said I needed to put in my phone number. Put in my phone number and I got a verification call telling me to click '1" to verify. I verified and got a message saying that 150$ would be charged to my account and to stay on the line to speak to someone if I thought this charge was in error. Then the call ended.  My question is have you heard of any scams like this going around? I have a feeling the charge was a lie and if someone had come to the phone they would have tried phishing for my bank information (which I would not have given them). Also, this sounds very un-Adobe. If you have heard of a scam like this I'd be very interested. 

Good evening, I am trying to solve an issue with an InDesign file that closed by itself and now won't open anymore. The message that appears when reopening the program is about file recovery, and regardless of the response, it opens the file but closes quickly after. I have already tried saving 3 copies using 'Save As,' but the same problem occurs.Additionally, I have cleared the InDesign cache and I don't have any plugins installed. I checked for fonts issues but didn't find any. Hi, I am working with object states in endsign for a fixed epub, where each object state has a text wrap. I am trying to figure out if there  is a way for one state that has a text wrap, ignore a text wrap from a different state? In otherwords, state 1 has a text wrap with object b and state 2 has a text wrap with object a and currently both states see each others wrap. Unfortunately, if I turn on "ignore wrap" for either of the state's text frames, it nullify's its own wrap. Is there a workaround?

I've created a book in InDesign that shows best in a 2 page view when converted to a PDF. The problem I'm having is how to get the file to default to a "2 page view" rather than a "single page view" when opened in Adobe Acrobat. I've googled this a handful of times and can't find a solution. Perhaps I'm overlooking it, but I just haven't found an answer. Thanks

I'm importing some images from Illustrator into an InDesign document, and no matter what I do, they end up being pixelated. I've looked online for some solutions, and here's a list of things I've tried that have helped but not solved the problem: Scaled up the vectors in Illustrator so that all of the images are at least twice the size I need them to be in InDesign (I need them to be about 1in by 1.5in in the file, and they're all at least 2in by 3in) Changed the Illustrator export to be 300ppi Changed the Display Setting in InDesign to be "High Quality Display" Changed the Compression settings in InDesign to be "Lossless" instead of "Lossy" Changed the export in InDesign to be 300ppi Can anyone advise on what may be going wrong here? What can I do to fix this issue? 

Tengo una carpeta con 300 tablas de excel, todas con su formato y estilo. Me gustaría saber si hay algún script o forma de pasar de manera automática cada una de las tablas a un documento de indesign (tal como están en los excel, es decir, respestando el mismo formato/estilo). Y  si además, al comienzo del documento, se pudiera generar un índice con los títulos de cada tabla vinculado a su página correspondiente, ya sería increíble. Gracias. 

indesign data merge in mac in Hebrew versions?

I updated an InDesign book file and the document files within the book. When opening a document from the book the starting page number of the document was changing to 1, SORT OF. I noticed the problem right away because the file immediately went to unsaved. "Automatically Update Page & Section Numbers" on the Book Page Numbering Options dialog was NOT checked. Opening the file separate from the book the page numbers didn't change. The funkiest part was that visually the page numbers updated on the page, but not in the page pallet and InDesign still "thought" all the numbers were what they should have been. So even though the first page showed "1" if you tried to go to page 1 (Ctrl+J in Windows) it would error saying there is no page 1 in the file. Re-creating the book fixed the problem. Has anyone else had similar trouble in 2025? [EDIT]After more fiddling it seems that this only occurs if the first page / section in the file is set to "Automatic

How can I set up a similar sizing for the number in InDesign? Thank you! 

This horrible greedy decision by Adobe & Pantone is turning out to be even worse than imagined. I'm being robbed, i mean i'm paying another monthly subscription fee, but this product does not work.  Every time we search for a color, click on the 3 dots to Add To Swatch, the color never shows up in my local Swatch Pallete.  Please advise on how colors are supposed to be added to my pallete. It does the same thing inside Illustrator.  Wish i could get rid of every pantone ink and adobe product at this point. 

The background keeps blinking. When I click on it, it stops. But then it starts again. I can't find any error messages. I am using InDesign 2025, version 20.0.1

HELLO,I have a rather big PDF 7 726KB, an architectural drawing, that I want to import to InDesgin so far without success. InDesign doesn't give me any error, but simply won't load it. I have tried to load other similar sized PDF with success however. Thanks!

Hi everyone.I have used the object style "myPic" for all my images.Can I make all images generate captions with one click? And then apply the object style "centCap” to all these captions.Thanks a lot.

If I place an image with cmd+D and then draw the frame manually with the mouse, the frame always has the same aspect ratio (3 to 4 landscape) and if I want to place an image in portrait format, the frame does not match the content. So far, this has always been the case without any extra setting or key combination. But now since a few days I can't achieve this again with any setting. ChatGPT advises me to select ‘Fit frame to content’ in the frame fitting options or in the presettings, but this is no longer available for selection. Has this been deliberately changed or is this a silly new bug? Has anyone experiences the same issue and is there a solution?Can I report this tho Adobe?

They appear in a grey box when I click on an object and move it. Never use them and find them highly annoying. Can I turn these off?

My design studio designed and formatted a book for a self-published author using InDesign and two fonts, one being an Adobe Font (Linux Libertine and Aaux Next). We provided the author with a print PDF in CMYK to upload. We have an active Adobe Cloud subscription for anyone using the files. We've designed and had dozens of books printed and never ran into this issue Amadon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) presented The author has spent the last several weeks going back and forth with KDP support about the proper file format they need and the Adobe Font used. KDP support told the author they couldn't print his book because KDP doesn't hold the license to the Adobe Font. 🙎 Amazon KDP support responses seem to contradict Adobe documentation on font licensing for printed books unless they're considered a print bureau. I need to shift the position of my already established page numbering. Or in failing that, delete the current πage number fields and start over.The problem is, when I open my Master Pages, go to the Pages panel and select a page, then select either the Selection Tool or the Direct Selection Tool,I am unable to select the page number fields with either tool (or the Text tool). The page number fields remain grayed out. I've tried other things to no avail. I'm stuck. I cannot edit/adjust my page numbering position.Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.Kyle
