A small but very irritating novelty in a recent update: if I want to edit a photo file, I used to pick 'edit original' from right-clicking the mouse (and later made a hotkey for it) and automatically went to Photoshop. When I do that now, I'm sent to Lightroom.I never worked with Lightroom and I don't want to start with it – Photoshop worked fine with me and learning new software is in this case just a waste of valuable time. When I want to use Photoshop I now have to choose 'edit with' , but because of old habits, I automatically choose 'edit original' So I tried to change the setting for 'edit original' from Lightroom to Photoshop in 'preferences', but I can't find anything. Well, let's work around the problem and make a hotkey for 'edit with'. Not possible!Looks a bit like Adobe wants to force me to use Lightroom... Don't like that. But maybe I overlooked something simple. Anyone with a solution?

Hi there, I have an InDesign print file with an image (.jpg file) within a frame which corrupts if placed at a certain position within the frame. If I place the bottom right of the image flush with the bottom right of the frame, the image corrupts when exported, however if I move the image even a couple of cm's off from being "flush" with the frame it exports successfully. I have attached an image to illusrate the issue I'm having. The image is clearly not corrupting unless it is flush with the edge of the frame which is very odd. I've never had anything like this happen. I am on the most up to date version of InDesign. I've tried different files at the same dimensions and have got the same result. Does anyone know why it is doing this and what I could do to fix it? 

Hi all Need help with Indesign documents exported as accessible pdf files. I've been producing accessible files for a couple of years now without too many problems (always sorted). But recently after lastest updates to Indesign and Acrobat I've found that when opening the pdf file and checking accesibility tags – the document displays No Tags available? The indesign doc I've set style sheets – added H1/H2 etc and P style for output to pdf (originally I used to leave these as default for Indesign to manage) , but nothing arrives in the pdf – I'm having to manually set all styles and tags within acrobat. Frustrating to say the least. Please don't suggest I check the Create tagged pdf in the output to pdf as I have a preset for Accessibles. Any suggestions welcome – life has become tiresome with accessibility lately!

We used to be able to run multiple versions of Indesign on one computer. I can not seem to do it lately. Have Adobe stopped this?

I have 2 master pages set up to apply page numbers over dark or light backgrounds.Neither of the master page items are:- applying at allOR- remaining stuck in the back with all my art covering themWould anyone know what the problem possibly could be?

I can't add symbols like !, @, #, $, or % afterwords. The text font shrinks when I press Shift + 1 for an exclamation mark. The same occurs with other Shift + symbols.

I use a Mac Studio Apple M2 Max and have the problem that I can no longer display the document in the Finder in the bar where the file name is displayed with the right mouse button. When I click on “Show in Finder” InDesign jumps to the Finder but does not show the InDesign document but the window that is currently open in the Finder and no the window has not appeared on another screen or behind other Finder windows. I have another problem with the shortcuts - I can no longer display the file within the document when I click on the “Go to shortcut” icon. Yes, I have restarted and reinstalled the computer and the program. The problems with the “Show in Finder” are only with InDesign and not with any other program. Best regards

Is there any way for InDesign to show the preview of an object in a dialog box? I noticed that the pie chart script (Claquos) does just that, but I don't know how this mechanism works. Does anyone know?Link site of ClaquosWhat if I want a script to insert a rectangle into my document, and through a dialog box, I can preview what I'm going to insert? I received a file for a 176-page book with 6 Master Page spreads. I needed to resize the book from 5.125 x 7.625 to 5.5 x 8.25. I have always used the "Adjust Layout" function to accomplish this in the past with relatively few problems. In this file, however, I ran into an issue--The page adjustments were applied to everything except for 2 of the master pages. In the first screen grab, you can see that the pages were adjusted correctly. The master pages are correct in the first, second, fourth and sixth master spreads. In the third and fifth master spreads, however, the left hand page did not make the same adjkustment as everywhere else (see second and thrid screen grabs). This has caused a huge problem for me because it was not noticed (by me or anyone else) until the book had gone to print. Why would this happen, and what can I do to make sure it never happens again? I do these kinds of projects regularly and haven't run into this problem (as far as I know) in the past.

Like a fool, I thought it would be a little more straightforward than this... After installing and running EPUBCheck against my epub file, I am receiving the issues below. Apologies for the long list, but thought it might be helpful to include the entire listing. I'm assuming that the only entries I need to solve are those preceeded by ERROR. Also, if one of you know of a resource I can visit to educate myself on correcting these issues, I will be happy to visit and review.  In my large document, I have a list of five sentences with bullets. I want to change the first sentence to be italicized and remove its bullet.

Hi - Runnning InDD 19.5 on a Mac running Mac OS Sonoma 14.6. 3-fold issue: • Using Command-S option not saving files. Only way to save files is to manually use the File menu to "Save As".  This is not the end of the world (NOW that I figured out this was happeneng), but throws off one's workflow in an already well-established, key command-reliant brain. Note: Saving to desktop computer, not Cloud storage.• Replaced fonts aren't sticking - when reopening files, it asks to replace fonts that were already replaced.• History pallete - Really grateful this is now an InDD feature, but the data disappears after "Save As" (again, all I can currently DO is manually  "Save As".Thank you in advance!!!

I know others have posted in the past; I haven't seen any new posts on this in a while but last night, working with a file without underlines anywhere in it, i started getting the big black boxes appearing all over my file. i could zoom in and out and temporarily they would disappear but they kept coming back. checked another file, and it was ok. Now, this first file did have hyperlinks in it (set from the link panel) but they weren't underlined or anything. Just wondering if anyone else was seeing this behavior and any possible workarounds. Thanks!

Hey guys, I can't seem to center this text frame in the middle of the white space in a matter of 1/2 clicks. So I have been creating a box as wide as the white space and align the text box with that wider box, and I can't help to think there might be a better option then what I have been doing.   <Title renamed by moderator>

How can I add a left spreadsheat to every one of my spreads?

I'm hoping someone can please help. Adobe team couldn't help me last time I spoke with them. I am having issues with my workspace display in Adobe Indesign and Illustrator.    The colors shown in the workspace are all extremely dark and is not reflecting accurate colors. I know the swatches are correct as they export correctly to a PDF -- However IN THE ACTUAL WORKSPACE, everything has a dark tint. This has been ongoing for 2 years and I still can't figure it out. Has anyone had this happen to them?    In the photo you can see the swatch colors selected vs. how they appear on the page. As you can imagine, this is extremely frustrating.  Technically the colors export correctly so I am stumped.      <Title renamed by Moderator>

Hallo zusammen, ich brauche bitte mal eure Hilfe bei einem Textfeld in InDesign. Ich möchte, dass das Textfeld am oberen Rand des schwarzen Feldes (grüne Linie) abgeschnitten wird.  Welche Möglichkeit habe ich, um das zu erreichen? Danke für eure Hilfe und beste Grüße,Sebastian

Bonjour, Je travail sur un document de 72 pages, soudainement certains blocs textes sont apparus vides !A priori ils ne le sont pas vraiement puisque en mode éditeur je vois bien le contenu...Et bizarrement ca ne le fait pas partout, certains blocs n'ont pas bougés... Je vous met en capture ma page avec les blocs vides, et la fenêtre éditeur. Comment faire pour que ces textes réapparaissent ?Par avance merci, c'est un gros document je commence à avoir la trouille de devoir reprendre tout ça à la main....
