 Hey everyone, I'm currently working on developing a React plugin for InDesign and could use some guidance regarding implementing a Loader.Specifically, I'm looking to incorporate a loader that indicates when LogIn to Plugin, data is being fetched or operations are in progress within the plugin .I've explored a few options but would love to hear from others who have tackled similar challenges. What strategies or libraries have you found effective for implementing loaders in InDesign plugins built with React? Any tips or code snippets would be greatly appreciated!Looking forward to your insights!

Hello there,I am planning the switch to Apple Silicon and would like to understand what features are more valuable for the apps I use.While I mainly work with music notation software, Sibelius is a single-core app, Dorico seems to benefit only from more RAM/UM, and Logic doesn’t use that much GPU. So every Apple Silicon with 16+ GB RAM would be fine.Of Adobe CC Suite I use InDesign 60% Illustrator 30% Photoshop 5% Others 5%.What specs would you suggest for these needs?I would point either at a new M3 MacBook Pro (Pro/Max) or at a refurbished M2 MacBook Pro (Pro/Max).I would also treasure any personal on-field experience with Apple Silicon and Adobe CC.Thanks! PS: I tried to create this post on Safari for iPadOS 17.1 and I could not select topics. When I have nested lists in InDesign (with the first level set as Level 1 and the second level set as Level 2), the tags export as: <L>       <LI>            <Lbl>            <LBody>            <L> The second level list is nested within the List Item and not the List Body. Is this a bug or is there a way to fix this without having to remediate every single list in Acrobat?

I'm trying to replace contractions in a book I'm editing using the FindChangeByList script. Replacing words like 'I am' to 'I'm', 'It is' to 'It's' etc. I tried editing the txt file the script uses and adding the following command -  text {find what:"I am"} {change to:"I'm"} {include footnotes:true, include master pages:true, include hidden layers:true, whole word:false} Find all I am and replace with I'm. But it isn't working. What am I doing wrong here? (Attaching a screenshot)

InDesign's spell check becomes non-responsive when checking a large (1,200 pages) document. When initiating the spell check the application becomes non-responsive for upwards to 30 minutes. Sometimes, it seems (maybe coincidence) that opening the MacOS Force Quit dialogue box causes ID to suddenly snap out of it. Once it decides to actually start checking words there seems to be no further issue. Anyway, it's imperative that I run the spell check before this document goes to print. I know there's the argument that ID is not meant for editing. Editing is not the point. If you've ever maintained a large document you know how it can make you sleepy and prone to inadvertent keyboard taps, which can turn up as misspellings. I have to do this 2-3 times a year and I dread it every time. Seems to me, from a purely programmatic standpoint, that spell check should take place in a non-graphical space that should not be a CPU-intensive task. Does anyone else have this issue?

I just updated to the new version of Indesign. The UI appears larger what I had previously, so I tried to scale it down, but upon restart it just crashes right away and refuses to open. Have to uninstall and re-install to get it back. Any workaround for this? Tried it 4 times already, same results.

If I design a form using Indesign and save it as PDF and I want the section written [HOSPITAL NAME] to disappear when tapped on and the individual handling the form to be able to type in what they want, how do I go about that? (Bear in mind that they have the normal PDF not Pro)

Hi there!  I am using InDesign to write a book of music. I have my parent pages set up with only two objects:1.  An 8.5x11 frame for the background object, created outside of InDesign, which includes a graphical header and some other simple elements.  This goes on the bottom layer.2.  A 7.5x8.35 in frame to import a png of the music I'm writing in Finale. The frame for the background is working great with no issues.  It's the second frame that's at issue. I am exporting the music from Finale by printing it using PDFCreator as a png with the size being defined on PDFCreator 7.5x8.33 inches.  After I "print" it that way, I import it into InDesign.  It seems to me like this should result in a perfect fit, but unfortunately, the second page of music in this example is larger than the first:Full two-page spread, exported as pdfDetail from this spread, showing the size difference: Here's a screenshot of my frame fitting options: I'm

Hi, I'm this is my first project on Indesign and I'm making a single-sided, single sheet, 8-page zine. So on my computer screen screen, the bottom half of the document is right side up, while the top half is upside down. (For the top half, after designing it right side up, I selected the text boxes and images, and rotated them 180 degrees). However, when I print it out, some of the lines of text on the top half come out wrongly. The letters are flipped right side up, and reads right to left. It's weird because within the same text box, some lines are fine while others wrong.  Please see images attached.If anyone could please advise me on how to fix this, I would be extremely grateful. Não estou conseguindo reinstalar o pacote Adobe (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator etc) no PC WIN 11:– AMD Ryzen PROCESSADOR 5 PRO 4650G with Radeon Graphics 3.70 GHz; RAM 16,0 GB. Eu usava este mesmo PC com WIN 10 e o pacote estava instalado e funcionando normalmente. Formatei e atualizei o WINDONS e ao tentar reinstalar tem a seguinte mensagem:Atualização necessária – Para instalar o Illustrator, você deve atualizar o sistema.Alguém pode ajudar?

I’m having issues with a re-installed font. I deleted the entire Gotham font family via Font Book and installed a new version that we purchased. Most of the new styles correctly overwrote the old ones. However, one of the old font styles was called Gotham Regular, and one of the new styles is called Gotham Book, and these aren’t showing correctly in Adobe. When I open a new document in any Adobe app (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), I am still seeing Gotham Regular as an available font style, and Gotham Book is not showing as an option. Also, when we open a document (made by another employee) that has Gotham Book being used, it says that that font is missing, even though it is clearly installed in my Font Book.

Olá!Meu cliente está me requisitando que toda palavra com até 3 letras (a, o, os, dos, de, ....) esteja na linha debaixo. Existe alguma configuração no estilo de parágrafo para isto?Obs.: O arquivo é um catálogo muito grande com muito texto, será ruim se eu tiver que ir palavra por palavra e ir ajsutando manualmente.Segue print:

Originally all my documents were produced with PDFSharp, things worked and worked well, my main client needed acroforms so that removed PDFSharp from the equation, onto Adobe Acrobat which looked on the surface it could do almost everything, we got it working, except there were a few things that did not work, namely content landing in the tab order like lines etc. Fast forward to the last couple of days, of trialing InDesign, it looks like it was going to do everything needed, using it with Acrobat Pro to do final output, but there are a couple of things that don't work, I need to remove some text fields from the tab order, I cannot find anything to do this, I have hidden fields in the final PDF document, these are essential, but I don't want the user to be able to tab into them. I tried layers so putting the hidden fields into a layer, I might be missing something here but this did not work, the exported PDF shows the fields. Fonts in the exported PDF I have to set this

Bonjour, J'ai un problème d'ouverture sur certains de mes fichiers stockés sur un disque dur externe.J'ai ce message d'erreur qui apparait (cf capture d'écran) Hors :- Je suis seul à travailler sur ces documents - Ils ne sont pas stockés en ligne.J'ai déjà essayé d'enregistrer le document sous un autre nom, un autre format, rien n'y change. Même en le mettant sur mon ordinateur cela ne fonctionne pas. J'ai également réinstallé indesign, supprimé les préférences, pareil, cela ne change rien. Auriez-vous une solution pour ce problème ?Je vous remercie d'avance pour votre aide. 

Hi All, Please, c ould anyone help me with my chapter page? Basically, I'd like to have a Blank Chapter page with a Text Variable of the Header of the following page. Basically like the image above.  I've created a master page that shows the text variable for Running Header (see screenshot below), but for some reason it only shows after the page that has the header.  Is there a way to make the section page before the section heading appear as an automated text variable? Thank you in advance for your help. Kind regards,Monica 

HiI would like to know what is the Flavour/Version of GREP/RegEx used by Adobe InDesign ? There are many flavours like PCRE v1, PCRE v2, PERL, Java, Python, ECMA. I see most of the regex written in Notepad++ works in InDesign except few. I try most of the regex in Notepad++ and regex101 site first and then use it in InDesign. Thanks 

I have an Indesign CC document with two lines of text converted into a Form Text Field, and when I export it as an interactive PDF the text disappears. I have attached an image of the text visual and the Form  Palette showing the Form specs. Please help.

Bonjour,Je recherche partout sans trouver de réponse à ce sujet : est-il possible d'automatiser la mise en page d'un annuaire, provenant d'un fichier Excell, sur Indesign ?J'ai essayé via la Fusion de données, mais cela ne me donne qu'un nom + ses coordonées par page et non les uns en dessous des autres, même en choisissant enregistrements multiples...Précision (voir capture d'écran) : mes colonnes de texte sont chainées entre elles, pour que le texte coule de page en page, et je ne peux pas créer plusieurs blocs de texte les uns sous les autres car la longueur des coordonnées diffère d'un nom à l'autre. Auriez-vous une solution ?Merci par avance !

Hello everyone, I want to search for a color in several tables on several pages and replace it with another.the color I'm looking for has a hue of 40%. I'm using the Find/Replace Color function, but it can't find the 40% hue range. it's not working.precision: tables are in a text blockcan you help? thanks

Is anyone else having this problem with the Paragraph window not all showing in Adobe InDesign. The Character one is all fine.

I am having a lot of trouble to get my report headings to show the correct number. They all want to stay on number 1. I have managed worked out how to get the sub-headings and body text to work subsequently after each point but not the headings. Sorry this is difficult to explain, hopefully the screenshots will be clearer.   From the above two screenshots both of my sections are showing they are heading 1, when I would like them to be 1. Introdution and then 2. Existing Site and so on.  I have created paragraph styles for each of the headings which are as follows:  Thank you for any help with this.
