A long time ago I had a tab open that explained how to find a font that contained a specific glyph, but it’s been lost to too many updates. Who knows how to use InDesign to find a font that has a specific (semi-obscure, an asterism) glyph?

Indesignで、小さめのテキストボックスを連結して文字を流し込みました。普通の文字列だと、問題なく表示されるのですが「々」の文字が入った場合のみ、文字が表示されず最後のテキストボックスのサイズを広げると初めて表示されるようになります。「佐々木」のようなものだと一番後ろのテキストボックスに表示され、「々」の文字が先頭にあると逆に問題なく表示されます。解決方法がわかりません。よろしくお願いいたします。（imac / mac OS sonoma 14.6.1 /  indesign2026） 

Hi AllAgain, with a version update glitch that hasn’t been fixed in a few updates.My team uses placed InDesign files in InDesign as a way to use the same content across multiple projects eg. a layout of logos, etc. It’s an ideal way with our workflow and we’ve been doing it for years, we’re not on here to look for a solution for that as everyone’s documents and workflows are different and there’s so many other uses we do this for.Recently, we’re exporting .pdfs and the vector logos that are placed onto pages are exporting as blank shapes where the logos should be. They look fine on the InDesign document before we export, but the .pdf is wrong. A fix each time we encounter it is that we edit the original by putting a blank frame on the page, deleting it and saving the file. We’ve discovered the files are always saved in the most recent version of InDesign, but before that didn’t matter.Any help (or a bug fix) would be greatly appreciated. Windows 11 x64 bit, saving files on OneDrive, In

The InDesign files were originally for online only, not print, and as such, were set to 34 pages. We now want to print it, and it needs to be 34 pages.The design has been set up in a way that each page blends into the next, so adding two random pages will disturb the layout.I think adding one at the back should be fine, and will not disturb any layout, but adding one at the front will throw everything else out.How can I add a page at the beginning (front), to get to 34 pages, to fix this, and make it work?“Document attached for reference”Your help would be appreciated. Hello!Wondering if this is even possible. In my work flow I usually have a print file in Indesign using multiple layers and artboards. I link these files to my "Proof Page" and use object layer options and pages to display different parts of the art. In the Proof Page I can have multiple instances of the art at a time showing various combinations of the layers. I was wondering if it's possible to have a script go through the Proof Page and automatically match the pages of the linked document to the corresponding pages of the proof page. So Page 3 of the proof would automatically update every instance of the linked file to Page 3. Bonus points if it can maintain my layer selections, but beggars can't be choosers Haha.Thanks again!Matt

Looking to create a keyboard shortcut for Clear Transformations and it looks like it isn’t listed as an option. Am I just missing something?Additionally does anyone know of a script that would reset all object transformations in a document?Best,Matt 

I am experiencing a persistent "Error updating links/artifact" when trying to update an existing Share for Review link. I need to keep the current URL to preserve existing client comments, but the update fails every time with a generic error message.I have inspected my UXP logs and found a specific HTTP 400 (Bad Request) error. "You cannot reverse this change with the Edit > Undo command. Do you want to continue anyway? (Yes, No) every time I open InDesign now, this window pops up. It comes up again when (at a minimum) the first document is opened. There is nothing I am trying to undo. Any insight as to where this is coming from or how to fix it?

When open InDesign 2026 on a screen with very high resolution, some icons get double size in docke panel: This is only seen on a Mac with arm-processor. When open InDesign on the build-in (retina) screen, everything looks fine.I found the post “InDesign 2023: Big icon in docked panel”. But the solution described there, did not solve the problem.Any ideas how to solve this?

This new udpate gives me a contstant spinning wheel almost after each action I try to make. Select an item, move an item, open a panel, open a menu, anything really—each interactions causes the wheel to appear for 1-2sec. My productivity has been completely obliterated. I frequently create brochures, and at some point in the project without fail the share for review link stops allowing me to update content. The review links are an integral part of our workflow, and for my non-brochure work they are fine (although I have to update those less frequently), but with my brochure documents it will allow me to create a new link, but after that I can no longer publish any changes. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign, turned off and on countless times, ensured the document I’m updating is the only one open, packaged then opened the idml and re-saved the document to indd. It just doesn’t work, and it’s really frustrating to explain to our clients that their comments have gone because we had to make a new link (or they get confused, comment on an old link and we don’t make the updates). Any ideas?

Any idea when the fix for the flyout boxes is going to be fixed? It has been months now and still not working.

Is there a way to have something like this in a pdf form made in InDesign (or Acrobat DC) ? So the person filling the form can format the text he is writing 

Hi!When working in InDesign with elements using transparency (opacity) and/or blend modes (e.g. Multiply), the display corrupts intermittently: affected elements suddenly render at low resolution and blend modes are ignored. I have a column in a table that contains numbers between 1-100, and I would like the cells to fill with a color based on the numerical value. For example, 80-100 would have a green fill, 50-79 would be yellow, and 0-49 would be a red fill. Is there a way to do this? 

I have a fairly common problem - losing special characters on a data merge. I thought the cause of the problem was with the data file exported from Excel, but using a csv or even a plain text file correctly encoded to UTF-8 and testing all possible combinations of import options results in losing extended characters on data merge. So a name like Świeżewski is losing those non-standard characters and is coming through as ≈Öwie≈ªewski. It is not the font (Minion Pro - and I've tested every font I have), because I can copy the word out of Excel and paste it into InDesign without any problems. I've also tried various different encodings and regional character settings. I do this sort of work all the time and various workarounds have always fixed it in the past, but on this occasion I can't make it work. Last month, I finalized an InDesign file that features a lot of precisely-sized text fields and tables. It was all perfect, good-to-go for this month’s deadline. I went into the file a few days ago to make a minor edit, and suddenly the Open Sans font was behaving very strangely - InDesign made it look like the Bold instance was missing altogether, and any time I added or deleted text anywhere in a field or table that used Open Sans, the field or table reacted as if I were inserting a font of a larger size, and the carefully designed field and table bounds were exceeded, creating hundreds of overflow errors across the document.I have tried: Re-installing Open Sans on my computer (and restarting), both trying the variable variety and the static variety of the four instances (regular, bold, italic, bold italic) the document uses. I consistently get Share for Review errors when trying to update the share links.Restarting, clearing preferences don’t have any effect.

Hi folksI’ve come across this odd copy/paste bug in InDesign 21.2. Text fields are not located correctly when pasting a group of obejcts. Same thing happens with Paste and Paste in Place.I am pasting from the right window (A5) into the left window (A5) hence the size difference.Is this a known bug?ThanksRichard 

For the past few months I’ve been experiencing slow Indesign performance when editing documents but it has been tolerable until the past few days when Indesign started to be too slow to even launch. Closing the app is also extremely laggy, usually it does not fully close until I restart the computer.Indesign can launch but takes more than 20 minutes to get to the home page, and I haven’t been able to load it to the point of being able to open any files.I have already tried a clean removal + reinstallation of the app with the creative cloud cleaner tool, and also deleted all preferences. Most files are saved on adobe cloud.I am on Id version 21.3, Windows 11 Pro, OS 26200.8117Any help would be appreciated :) thank you  UPDATE: Running version 21.2 works fine it’s 21.3 that’s not working.
