Sometimes my table doesn’t quite fill the text box, so I have to manually adjust the row height, which takes several attempts and is quite a hassle.Is there a way to use a script to adjust the row height of the table body so that the text box is quickly aligned at the bottom? 

At a juncture now where it’s necessary to create a matte spot varnish file for text only in an illustrated edition. The text is comprised of body text and titles in K only, and hundreds of sidenote annotations in a custom pms spot (a Pantone grey mix), which, due to the unforeseen effects of the printer’s UV LED offset process, are rendering now as an undesirably glossy text on our matte, natural finish Arctic Volume White stock, deliberately chosen for its non-glare properties. We’re preserving, however, the richly saturated and glossy look on the imagery that UV LED printing introduced (so a flood coat won’t do), but the text, in a dense and lengthy scholarly edition, can’t be encumbered with glare. The printer uses only Toyo ink and after many conversations with them and Toyo in the EU (where the printer is) the kabosh has definitively been put on Toyo Ink resurrecting their matte formula, eliminated 8 years ago. Suppose I’ve selected three objects. Hello everyone! I’m trying to create a small plugin to manage my product listings.It’s a user interface that contains the information needed to automatically fill out my document.The plugin uses named objects such as “Model Name” and automatically fills in the fields with data from a CSV file. Previously, I had written a windowed version to test and debug it. But I needed a palette/dialog box to scroll through the entire document while I enter the information (which doesn’t work with a windowed version because the document remains static). And I wanted an OK/Apply button to confirm changes and continue working without the page closing, while still being able to navigate the document at the same time. For now, the problem is at the end of the script with dlg.show();The dialog box closes instantly when I click on it. Here is the code. Can you help me?:)   // ======================================================// PRODUCT SHEET// ======================================================if (

Is it necessary to display a warning for missing fonts when importing from Word?Sometimes I don’t need it.I’ve already unchecked the “Check fonts” option under “Advanced Text” in “File Handling” in the Preferences.It doesn’t seem to be working. 

I’m creating book pages and I create a frame, and then in frame fitting options I select “fit content to frame”. But it’s not doing that. It’s not forcing the content to fit the frame, it’s fitting the content proportionally. Which I don’t want. Any idea how to fix this?You can see below that it’s fitting the content proportionally, not to the frame. 

Hello, everyone.I want to use ‘s.fit(FitOptions.FRAME_TO_CONTENT)’ to shrink the bottom of a text box, but I want to exclude cases where the bottom border is part of a table.I'm not sure if there's a way to do this.Thank you

Hi! I know there were similar topics, but none of them answered. Sorry for asking again, but this is a serious issue. We develop .zxp extensions. They need to be updated from time to time. And new extension files need to be signed correctly. The problem is that ZXPSignCmd requires a .p12 file to sign the extension. It's not just another container format, the .p12 file contains a _key_ along with the signing certificate. The key is mandatory, without it you can't sign. And CAs don't seem to export signing keys anymore.For this reason: https://knowledge.digicert.com/alerts/code-signing-changes-in-2023 If there is a CA that still exports .p12 files, please let us know. It would be a lifesaver. At least for a while. But in any case, ZXPSignCmd requires PKCS#11 support. Or its successor. Or another option. The .zxp file contains a digitally signed XML file, which is a bit hard to replicate, but technically possible. I'm sure there are people skilled enough to create such

Hi everyone,I have several computers that have InDesign 2026 installed.On one win11 machine, the first two general preferences are missing.I uninstalled using the Creative Cloud Cleaner exe.Reinstalled the 21.2 (available just today to the east coast of the US)Those general preferences are still missing!I have reset as well as deleted cache files.Any suggestions as to what I can try to get a fully-restored version of InDesign working again?

InDesign won't allow me to select text, or select any preferences. I've done an update in Cloud, and it says I have ID version 20.5.2. I've never had an issue like this. I'm using a Mac Studio Tahoe 26.2.

Hello! Opening illustrator files from InDesign, working on them, saving them and going back to InDesign. The links are all updated, but sometimes it’s leaving anomolies, like double shadows of the figure in. Friends are having the same problem, one had the cursor x/y measurements from the illustrator file appear in InDesign - which wouldn’t even have saved into the file? Anyone else had this problem?Pictures - show the x/y (illustrator on the left - inDesign on the right) and the double calendar which is most definitely not there in the illustrator file! 

I am working on making the digital version of our document accessible. The math equations were placed into the InDesign (v 21.3) document using the Math Expressions (MathML) panel. After exporting the document to PDF with the “Create Tagged PDF” option enabled and running an accessibility check, the equations were flagged for alt‑text issues. There are more than 200 equations in our document, so I am looking for an alternative to creating alt-text for each of them. What is the most efficient way to resolve this accessibility problem?

I have endnotes created in InDesign using the InDesign Endnote options. Created a PDF using Made-to-tag. When I created a PDF, I either get an error in the Acrobat Checker saying “Nested alternate text -failed” as I added Alt-text to the link-OBJR tag in the note tag, however if I do not have alt-text on this tag I get a PAC error saying "'contents' entry on an annotation exists, but is only comprised of whitespace.". How do I fix this manually in Acrobat? or in indesign?

I’m using InDesign to create a magazine. I’d like to remove the background for some of the photos I’ve placed. Usually I would use:Edit > Edit with… > PhotoshopHowever, ‘Photoshop’ isn’t popping up as an option. Instead, Adobe Express Beta is the only usable option. As such, I tried using Adobe Express’s new Beta feature to remove the background. It does a great job-- however, once you hit ‘APPLY’, it seems to automatically save the photo as a .jpg without giving you the option to save it as any other file type (that I can find, anyway). This makes the whole thing a bit pointless, as the background is just white instead of transparent due to the file type. For context, the pages are black. A white box for a background is worse than if I just left the normal background. I might just be unfamiliar with the new feature, but is there any way to save those images as a .png instead of the automatic .jpg? It would be really convenient if not for this hiccup. I can still use Photoshop, i

I’ve cleared preferences through library, and when starting indesign.It has several bugs randomly appearing. eg. Suddenly can’t undo, takes ages to quit, there’s a slight delay importing images...

Since a week or two I often don’t see a document name when I try to save a document. So I open an older document and when I try to ‘Save as’ the document name spot is empty. See screenshot.  Behind ‘Bewaar als:’ there usually is the document name! There also is no document name when I try to save the document as a pdf. Not all documents have this problem: some do and some don’t.I wonder why there is no document name with some documents… and of course I also wonder how I can prevent this from happening. Is there a setting I accidentally enabled or disabled…?I am on macOS and use the latest version of everything.

I'm working on a product catalog in InDesign (CC) based on an Adobe template. This week I noticed that text in certain table cells had disappeared across all my saved versions. Ich bekomme die Ordnung meines Inhaltsverzeichnisses nicht richtig hin. Mein Dokument besteht aus einzelnen UND verketteten Texten. Das liegt daran, dass ich ein Word Dokument platziert habe, welches Überschriften beinhaltet, welche im Inhaltsverzeichnis auftauchen sollen. Zusätzlich gibt es einzelne Textrahmen nur mit Überschriften.Nun werden aber alle Überschriften des verketteten Textes VOR den anderen Überschriften angezeigt, obwohl diese im Dokument teils danach liegen.Kann ich das Inhaltsverzeichnis einfach nach Seitenzahl ordnen lassen? oder selbst die Reihenfolge bearbeiten?Danke!

I have a document that the client insits it has top navigation on each page, is there a way to make this accesible so the people on screen reader dont have read it every page, it is created in indesign and I know I have to fix in acrobat and I can't seem to find the answer for this. Any help appreciated

t seems like INDD files from before 2021 won't open in 2024 19.5.Or it takes a really long time to open them—that doesn't make sense.But they open in 2026; you just need to convert them to IDML and then open them in 2024 19.5.On May 19, 2024, opening an IDML file that had just been converted from 2026 also took an unbelievably long time.2026 still seems a bit sluggish; so far, 2024 19.5 runs more smoothly. What a waste of time. Is there a script that can convert older INDD files to a format compatible with 2024 19.5 with a single click?
