Questions

I use Lr Classic & Ps with my yearly subscription for many years & never sign out of Adobe Creative Cloud so it's there when I need it to be. However, these day with the risk of idenity theft is it still safe to do so? I always sign out of Amazon, email acct, bank acct, etc... Why not Adobe? I'm starting to lean towards signing out for safety reasons. What are the risks &/or benefits? What are peoples thoughts on this? ....jp

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why my .mov video files cannot play within Lightroom? I swear they used to in the past but at some point, the play functionality and buttons disappeared and I cannot figure it out for the life of me. I double click any .mov file to open it in the loupe view but there are no buttons to play it (even if I right click)...nothing. Any guesses?  (I know the catalog is fine b/c I can find any of the video files in Finder if I want to view them in there... but I just can't figure out why I can't watch videos within Lightroom more efficiently.)  Any guesses?

Hello. I am an amateur wildlife photographer. I often return from an outing with 400-600 RAW full-frame images. My current workflow on a 2015 iMac and 2019 MacBook Pro is too slow. I have on order a Mac Mini M2 w. 16GB memory and 512 GB SSD. Do you think this configuration will be significantly faster using a workflow anchored by LR Classic? Adding the M2 Pro chip is +$300. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 13.4 (macOS Sonoma 14.2.1) Lightroom 9.4.0 (iPad Pro iPadOS 17.5.1)   Hi,Today I faced a major issue for me, and I hope you can help me to find a solution.I work with Lightroom on both my iPad and my Mac Mini. I load my pictures straight from the card on Lightroom on the iPad, and after editing them on the iPad they are synchronized via the Adobe Cloud on Lightroom Classic, on my computer.   There, they are automatically saved on an external hard drive where my catalogue is also stored.   Today, when I opened Lightroom on my Mac Mini and accessed any album, all the images I clicked on (and displayed) were first displayed with retouching, then a few seconds later the retouching disappeared and the photo was displayed in “raw” format. Each time I clicked on a photo, the problem repeated itself. HiIs there a function in Lightroom Classic that allows me to measure the brightness at different points in the image? In Capture One there is this possibility. It would be great if there was something similar in Lightroom. Christian 

Hey friends , I wonder if this is possible or makes sense:I have a Notebook with low HD capacity I use for traveling, doing some photo imports and edeting inside Lightroom Classic. Atm, I decided to stop the sync feature because one big main catalog would exeed my HD limit on the notebook. Nevertheless I would love to migrate these photos/edits on my Main/Desktop machine. So is the following workflow possible?1.) disabel sync on my notebook2.) create a new, empty catlog from scratch (how can I delete already sync images withou loosing them on my main Machine)3.) do some imports and edeting during travel4.) at home, migrate the catalog from my the travel notebook with my main Desktop Machine/Catalog. Any Tips how I can achieve this or do you have a better idea?

Hi Everybody, I know this is kind of a dumb question, but honestly...If my image is 4200x3000 pixels (at 72 dpi/ppi) how does that affect the print quality if it's not 300 dpi/ppi? I make changes in software programs an the resolution is the same (naturally). 

Whenever I try to upgrade to LR 5.7 i get an error message "The connection was reset".  How or where can I get the upgrade.  I het the 5.7 version, but I had a computer crash and am having to rebuild by drive.

It is not a new issue. Last year the mouse was lagging only in this application (Adobe LR Classic) like this. But now, I cant keep working in this situation. Situations it happens:When switching within Library, Develop or Print modules;When in Develop tab, deleting an image from a collection;When Selecting All photos (CMD + A) and Deselecting all photos (CMD+D);When movin to different window or application and returning to adobe LR;When closing a collections folder; My Specifications:Adobe LR 13.4 (Last version, always updated);MacosX Sonoma 14.5;Macbook Pro 16 (2019), CPU 2,4 GHz Intel Core i9 de 8-core, AMD Radeon Pro 5600M 8 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB, 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4;SSD 1 TB; You can watch the video bellow. Hi everybody,I just got started with lightroom CC classic. Whats the main difference btwn. folders and collections? Correct me if I'm wrong, Folders are were photos are located in your HDD. I can acces them, rating them, flagging...Collections are like a bunch of folders within Lightroom, where I can delete move photos without affecting the original files from the folder.Additional I have some more questions: Why I would work with collections if I have a nice folder structure in my HDD?Smart Collections are working directly related with the keywording system? Difference btwn smart previews and 1:1 previes?I found really nice the tutorials from Adobe but I would like to have a tutorial from scratch where I can see all the options, and deep menus in the software, any recommendations?Thank you very much!

Hi there! I am using the DJI Mini 3 drone and create 360 degrees sphere, then I stitch the pieces to a 360 degrees file (using Photomatix 6) and import it to Lightroom (latest version, Mac). The file sizes are around 20-25 MB.If I export the file just like that - everything is fine, but if I do some editing (e.g. just Auto Tone), then export gives me usually the error "There was an unknown error".It's been like that for many months. And it doesn't happen anywhere with any other files/photos I'm working with.Did anyone experience this as well? Any idea how to solve it? (A screenshot is below) Thanks a lot!Nils

Le tampon duplication ne marche pas, corrigé et supprimer non plus quand je sélectionne une zone à effacer elle rougit et en appuyant sur efface rien ne se passe pourriez-vous m'aider je ne trouve pas de tutos si le problème persiste je laisserai tomber la licence Lightroom merci.

Hello all,I'm not sure if this Q belongs here or somewhere else??I believe my request will sound strange, but I need to purposely break a link between my Cr2 and the shortcut loaded into Lightroom Classic. Something strange happened to my subject's ears that I didn't notice until I thought I was done and was double checking everything at 200%. How did I miss the issue until then? The person is the seconday subject (small enough that Lightroom can't find a "person", appearing in a relatively small size. I brainstormed on how to not completely start over with this image and decided the following: I'd like to sever the original link, then reattach the Cr2 from a new location (unless there's a better solution) I honestly thought it would be as simple as moving the file to a different hard drive, but I was clearly wrong. I did discover something I didn't know existed--internet shortcuts. I thought maybe they were the problem, so I tried deleting them, but it doesn't work. I found instructio

The Lightroom agent I spoke with this morning did not seem to want to listen to why I was calling.  Many people who had Lightroom Classic version 13.4 running on MacOS 14.5 were experiencing very slow reaction times particularly when performing Masking features. They were assuming their issue was with Mac Sonoma.  I am running macOS 14.2.1 and am having same issues ever since I upgraded to LRC version 13.4. I have since reinstalled LRC version 13.3.1. Since doing that I am not experiencing those issues with LRC. Perhaps there is a glitch in LRC version 13.4 that be causing the issues  with any Sonoma version.  This is only what I observed and wanted to bring this to your attention.  Barry

Hello Everyone I have been having issues with the DNG files from the Mavic 3, I also had the same issues with the DJI Phantom 4. Once imported into Lightroom, the DNG's are very washed out and lack detail/a decent colour range, requiring a lot of work in-post to bring out a decent image. I have attached some examples from a recent project, which are indicative how my DNG's almost always look. I always shoot in Auto-Mode with the exposure set to 0 and don't apply any changes to the DNG's during import. The JPEGs are fantastic (also shot the same way) but the DNG's leave much to be desired... is it a Lightroom issue or are the DNG's just lackluster?

I am using Lightroom Classic 13.4 Camera RAW 16.4. I am using Windows 11 Pro. On a computer I have been using for months, without any changes on my end, my RAW fies are completely disapearing when I import the files. Why are they being removed? I did searches on my hard drive for the photo numbers but they do not exist in RAW form. I am now forced to create 2 folders of RAW files on my hard drive because I know the ones I import to Lightroom will be deleted. I spent hours going through every check box I can find but i do not see anything related to this. 

I recently experimente with B/W photography. Thus I have set the camera to produce B/W previews with high contrast and clarity. After the import, I noticed that the contrast slider is way higher than it usually is. I have a preset applied, but it does not change the development settings, only camera corrections and default sharpening and denoising. Investigating a bit more, I found that Lightroom does often change the contrast slider to some value by its choice, also without the B/W setting in camera. So, the question is: When would Lightroom set a contrast value? Is that part of the default Adobe profile or what?

Lightroom Classic on Mac Workbook.I am reorganising Lightroom for a friend (newby on Lr) that has been strugling with Lr the 'trial and error'-way. God knows what switched he has set.After importing images (+ add to catalog) the images do not show in the screen of the import location, even the count of images remains zero. First after restarting Lightroom they appear as expexted same as the counter.After deleting the images (from disk) through Lr the usual way, the thumbnails remain on screen but are GREY. Also the counter remains in the old count. After restarting Lr the results on screen are as expected.Is there a setting wich might be missed or wrongly set?Regards,GeertHolland

After a long hiatus, went to process a recent family photo shoot using LR6.14 (perpetual). Surprise - it's no longer perpetual - it now doesn't work. Seems that Adobe has taken the older license servers offline.   Decided to try the photography subscription offerring. Signed up, downloaded LR Classic 13.4, opened and it offerred to migrate my LR6.14 catalog to the new format.   Checked the box to verify the catalog integrity - told it to go ahead. It chewed on it for a few dozen seconds then an error popped up indicating that the catalog cannot be migrated. Tried it several times using older verified backups of the LR6.14 catalog - no joy.   Kind of surprised - in the past I've migrated from LR3 to LR4 to LR5 and then to LR6 with no problems.   Is there any kind of log file produced somewhere that I can look at to ascertain what it might not be happy about ?   Has anybody else experienced this SNAFU ?  Any suggestions ?   LR Classic v13.4 Windows 10 P

Hi, Lightroom has probably shot my/its catalogue. When I just wanted to save the editing of a photo in the DNG (ctrl-s), I realised that the preview image had been recreated - and shows the original image without my edits!What a horror and what a horror programme! In between: what does this mean and what is the full text in this column (‘invalid ...’)?  thanksmycc

I'm running Lightroom Classic 13.4 with Camera RAW 16.4 - on a MacMini operating on MacOS Sonoma 14.5. My camera's are either a Nikon D810 or 850. For the life of me I cannot get Tethered Capture to work. On one occasion Adobe promted me to quit Lightroom 13.4 and re-start on an earlier version - and did that for me automatically - but not since. Every time I launch Lightroom then try to start Tethered Capture it will not see my camera's. What am I doing wrong? If there's an Adobe Lightroom genius out there I need your advice. Does anyone know a way to bulk stack pairs of photos (raw and edited jpeg) so they can be auto aligned and then blended via opacity change in one? Prefer adobe based platform but don't think it's possible.Was ideally looking at doing this from LR to PS, but honestly don't care how it's done. Pretty simple but only know how to do this for one pair of photos at a time.
