I've been using Lightroom since Apples Aperture was discontinued, I didn't use the sync feature until LR mobile was available but since then I've used, or at least tried to use, LR Mobile on my iPad/iPhone and LR Classic on my desktop. Unfortunable, sync has never been working reliable for me, every time I try to do anything serious I get syncing problems. In fact, I get syncing problems almost every time I start using syncing. It's so bad that the only way to keep any kind of control of what has been synced and not is to keep LR Mobile empty, add photos on my iPad (not too many mind you), edit, then go to my desktop import the photos into my main library and then delete them from syncing. What happens is that I almost always have the status message that X photos are syncing ... and nothing more happens. And yes, I've seen the comment "Just let LR do it's thing, it will sync eventually". Well, no I've waited weeks and the message stays the same. The only way I've figured out to de
i accidentially updated a preset of mine to wrong settings - is there a way to undo that change, so to revert to the preset as it was before?
If I open a photo in lightroom to be edit in photoshop 24 it will open in photoshop ok. But when I try to save it back to lightroom photoshop will try to save as not save. Lightroom does not show the PSD. I am useing Windows 11.

I am having a problem when importing raw images. LR will not allow the Add feature it is greyed out (see attach). This only occurs on my laptop., MacBook Air OS 10.12.6 I am on the most current version of LR. I do not have this problem on my desktop. The RAW images are on an external SSD drive. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Was transferring photos from LR (internal drive) to Synology NAS. No problems. Started updating folder locations, when all folders in LR (internal drive) disappeared. Unable to connect to either Pictures Folder on internal drive or NAS. LR shows that I am connected to NAS, but last folder is jumbled with many pictures missing or not belonging to that year. I manually checked (outside of LR) both the Pictures File and NAS files, and pictures are all present and good. Suspecting that LR itself is corrupted, but not sure what I should do, as am not program or tech savy. Should I quit LR, and restart? Please be specific. How do I get LR to reconnect to internal drive. Thank you.
When I am importing photos, and then viewing them, how can I set the default "sort order"? I currently want to set it to "file name", but every time I shut down Lightroom and restart it, the sort order has changed to something else.I find lots of discussions about this on the internet, but no answers. Also lots of YouTube videos explaining how to change the Sort Order, but nothing on how to find a setting, or a preference, to make the change last.In my case, this is for Lightroom 6 on a MacBook Pro, but I've read the same question about many versions of Lightroom on both Mac and PC.(I don't really want to know why one setting for sort order is better than another - I just want to know how to set it from now on, so it won't change unless I change it myself.)
Hello, I have a folder in LR classicthey are in dng now I cannot find the original folder which I kept on my Mac when I downloaded and edited them - this happened in 2022 and today I need to see them but I dont remember on which extatnal hard drive I put them. But I have a duplicate of the folder but they have extension .nef! Now to my issue - can I link a dng files to a nef files the same original photo but different file name like 1088.dng and 1088.nef??? Or will that cause problem?? Many thanks if anyone should know! /Jenny
In a PNG file that already has a transparent background, this tranparent background is always represented by a white color. So this question is NOT about making the background transparent!Question: how can I set a color with which transparency is displayed in Lightroom?I would to have the transparency be shown as black or ...
I had problems in 13.3.1. for 2 day's . Problems specialy writing Files. Also when creating DNG file in noise reduction. My mouse was sluggy. I removed Lightroom classic from my computer and reinstalled 13.3 .Till now : no problems.
BLACK GLITCH IN RAW PHOTOS I am experiencing a bug where a black glitch appears on some of my RAW photos. Can you help me understand why this is happening and how to fix it? This glitch only appears in the Develop section, but in the Library section, the photo is fine and the glitch does not appear. I am using a Fujifilm XH2 with a Fujinon 23mm F1.4 lens. Thank you. Here are my specs:(Photo Editing PC) - Processor: Intel (R) Xeon(R) W-2123 CPU @ 3.60 GHz RAM: 64GB GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 OS: Windows 10 Pro Editing Software: Lightroom Classic 13.3.1 (Photo Ingesting PC) - Processor: 13 Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700 2.10 GHz RAM: 16GB GPU: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 770 OS: Windows 10 Pro Photo Organizing Software: Photo Mechanic Both computers save almost all data (Lrc Catalog is on Photo comp's internal storage) to the company's network drive. This cannot be changed due to liability of files/storage devices becoming corrupt and lost. Okay, so a quick summary of my position. I've run the photography department of a festival for three years, we have 8 hired photographers with a variety of different cameras to capture events over the 11 days of the festival, ending up with about 125,000 photos ingested and tagged by festival end. Over the past 2 years the ingesting has gotten slower abd slower, which slows down my editing/t
My computer is running Windows 11, Version 22H2, build 22621.3593. My version of LrC is 13.3.1. For the past 2 or 3 months, without warning LrC will simply close and I have to restart it. I have not been able to associate its closing with anything I am doing. I do not receive any error message at all when this happens. When I do restart, LrC never displays the image I was working on when it closed and similarly it never opens up to the same folder in my catalog. I have uninstalled and reinstalled LrC using the CC app, but that has not solved the problem. I assume that this behavior is due to some sort of bug. I have also noticed that LrC is using far more memory than it did in the past. Right now Task Manager is reporting that LrC is using 6,883.2 Mb of memory; right now I'm working on an image from my Canon R5 (51.2 Mb). Last evening, working on the same file, Lightroom was using over 10,000 Mb, which is far, far more than it has used in the past. I ha
I did some further edits on an image I had already exported as a JPG and selected "overwrite" when I re-exported it - the JPG does not show the edit in Library but does in Develop.
Hello, One of my friends has asked me for help because on their 2021 M1 Macbook Pro with XDR display, Lightroom Classic renders the photos too dark on screen, in both Library and Develop. The exported photos, when viewed with Preview, are brighter — and, as it turns out, correct: I verified this by exporting the same file on my 2019 Intel iMac. The two exported files side by side are identical. Since there's no difference between what I see in LRC on my machine vs the exported file, I would assume that this has something to do with Apple's new/changed color management on the XDR displays of the M1 MBP models? For what it's worth, in addition to the MBP's internal display there's also an external monitor attached to the machine, and LRC's rendition of the photos is too dark on that one, too. I would appreciate some pointers in the right direction... 🙂 ThanksAlex.
Merci d'avance.Arnaud
I have a problem in Lightroom with the display shown to me.After my editing in the development area it is in the library area much darker and looks like a bit unedited. (see the pictures below)Also if I´m in the develop area and I zoom inside to 100% it also looked unedit/darker. (Video - the green of the grass changed after zooming in)The strange thing is that it only affects some pictures in my folder but not all.And It appaered from one day to another. No LrC or MacOS update.Things I have tested:I changed to many different color profiles from my MacBook Pro M1 but everywhere it is the same. I also tested it with an external Display it is also the same.I cleared all my 1:1 Previews and Standard Previews. I also generated them newly. I cleared my Cache Folder. I optimized my LR catalog. I reboot my MacOS machine. I deactivated the GPU acceleration and activated it back again.I use MacOS 14.5 with LrC 13.2I hope someone can help me.
Ever since the last set of updates (about two or three weeks ago), Lightroom is almost unusable when using the "Develop" module. If I create a mask and try to add or subtract with a brush, it seems every stroke of the brush takes 10 - 15 seconds or more to show up. Adjusting the sliders sometimes happens right away and other times is completely unresponsive. Not sure what is happening, it used to run fine. Help!
I tried downloading LrC some time ago but it kept crashing, even an Adobe technician couldnt sort it. A year later and Ive tried again as I really want to use it, and I am paying for it, and although its better and I can at least use it , it still crashes regularly. Any answers ? After the latest update to Lr 13.2 & Camera Raw 16.2, i noticed all my photos folders have been populated with an xmp file for each image file, even those unedited! All these new xmp files have the same date of creation, May 1st, which around the time i updated Lr. The Lr option says "Automatically write changes into XMP" not generate a pointless sidecar for every imported photo, and i've had that checked for years, it seems it's only after the last update that it went crazy with it. And now, some photos in the catalog even have an alert icon saying the xmp settings have been changed outside of Lr (which can't be, i haven't even looked at them after the bulk import, much less edit them in some other software). Does anyone know what this is? Is it a bug or the intended way the new Lr update is supposed to work? I didn't mind a few xmp files (so that i see the same edits in CR and also as backup) but now doubling the number of items in each folder for pointless x
Ever since I updated to Lightroom version 13.1(?), the program keeps crashing! I have uninstaled and reinstalled Lightroom MULTIPLE times and the progra continues to crash for no apparent reason. Is it time to revert to another non Adobe program????
Usually synchronize all picture folders in LR to see any new files added. Did the same after updating to 13.3 the other day. At the end of the day, all data is manually synchronize to as second PC. To my surprise, the program had flagged some 18,000 changed files. To cut a long story short, LR had written new xmp data to all these raw files, including directories dating back to 2010. To clarify, raw data was written to a single Database in older days. However, this shouldn't be happening without my knowledge
Hi All, I am running LR Classic 13.3 and I have the option selected to Automatically Write Meta Changes to XMP files. I still get the prompt that it's writing changes to XMP files when I exit even if I have had LR sitting idle for hours. LR used to just instantly update the XMP files so when I exited I didn't have to wait. It's as if LR is now cycling through the XMP info stored in it's system to see if anything has changed, even if I just open LR and immediately close it without making any edit whatsoever. This is very inefficient. Why isn't the Auto Write Met changes to XMP option not working as expected? Thanks,Randy
Seemingly recently, I've noticed that with every change I make to a local file Lightroom goes through and tries to read every single image in my SMB mounted drive. I watched iotop on my nas drive and can confirm that Lightroom is "reading" every single file with every, single, change. And again to reiterate, the files I am changing are local on this machine. This is making editing painfully slow as it's sending/receiving so much garbage data (I have 40k+ photos). This also makes closing the application take minutes as it's "writing XMP files" for files I haven't touched this session... The drive is mounted via SMB in Windows. Permissions are correct on the NAS side as I can read/write from Windows Explorer just fine.Temporarily I can disconnect the drive but that's kind of a pain long term to have to re-add the drive in Windows.Any thoughts or ideas I can try?
