Questions

I understand how to turn the grid on and off.  However, recently whenever I open a file, Photoshop is showing the grid.  Since I almost never use the grid (and certainly not as my first task when working with a newly opened file), this is an annoyance.  Can anyone tell me how to change the default behavior so that the grid is hidden?  Forum posts on this seem to be mostly from many years ago.

At the beginning of this year, I recorded a tutorial on to use the Depth Map  created by the Depth Blur neural filter. When Adobe updated to Photoshop 2023, the Depth Map filter was changed and now no longer creates any kind of usuable depth map.  Not sure if Adobe is aware of this problem and/or when it will be fixed? I've attached a file showing the Depth Map results in January of this year compared to today. It shows the problem quite clearly.    

Hi all,  So I have encountered myterious issue on my recent photos. After uploading photos to pics-time / pixieset all my photos become cold. I have checked colour profiles and they all gave assigned profile sRGB so that should not be the issue. Can someone please suggest something else?thanks!

Is there a way to access recent brushes through scripting? Would love to be able to cycle through recent brushes with a hotkey, and toggle between two last used.

Hi Everyone, I realize that Fuji shooters might use capture one more often than not but I don't.  That said, I have a question about processing Fuji Pixelshift multishot, in this case the 16 shot version.  I was able to shoot a series of these and combine them in the fuji software successfully (no defect detected).  It leaves you with a gigantic shot (1.5-1.6gb), which my client had requested. I also shot regular versions of this with the Fuji 100sii which turns out to be 580+mb's at 16bit and about half that at 8bit (does anyone have any use for 16bit?? do people use these to print ever?). My main question is in processing the multishot.  It seems WAY softer and less detailed than the regular shot.  It looks a little better with some aggressive sharpening, but the regular shot always looks better.  I'm not sure if there is something else I should be doing to process the combined multishot (which is a DNG after combining in Fuji software.)Is

i was starting to edit the pictures i took today, i managed to edit the first one fine. then when i moved onto the next image suddenly now it wont let me. it says "camera raw requires GPU acceleration to edit photos"ive tried every trick i can find online and nothing seems to fix it. theres nothing wrong with my RTX3060tiall my drivers are up to date too. ive checked that the acceleration is on in the photoshop settings. nothing seems to work. any help plz!? im tearing my hair out

Hi ihr Lieben, ich hatte mir in 2023 extra einen neuen PC gekauft, damit ich eine Weile Ruhe habe um mit Photoshop zu arbeiten. Seit kurzem bekomme ich diverse Abstürze und Fehler in Photoshop Camera RAW und Lightroom, wenn ich meine Presets durchklicke. Eine der Meldungen beispielsweise "Camera Raw erfordert eine Grafikprozessorbeschleunigung". Aber es hab auch andere. Ich habe alle Anleitungen bei Photoshop zur Problembehebung getestet nichts funktioniert. Einzig allein Lightroom scheint nicht mehr abzustürzen wenn ich den Graficprozessor deaktiviere.Ich habe auch schon bis zu 10 ältere Versionen installiert, neue Treiber getestet, nichts will helfen....Ich habe AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8x3.40GHz; 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200 MHz 2x16GB Dual CHannel ; AMD Radeon Rx 6600 8 GB

Spent hours editing some photographs to be printed. Adjusted values then retouched, etc. Then prepared the file, which was 84cm x 118,5 at 300dpi, saved it as psb cause it was a large file. Ended up being like 8 GB in size per picture. The next day, I went to open the file for exporting as TIFF, and Photoshop says "File is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." I created it with that version.. Tried Photopea, it won't load that file sizetried to load the file to Creative Cloud to see if that makes it readable or something. It said the file is not compatible. What can I do? I need to export those files, I cannot do the whole edit again, I don't have time for that... Please help.

Usually, when I open a JPEG and change it, I could overwrite the existing file with command+S as long as it stayed one layer. Now, for whatever reason, it opens up the »Save As« window. I have to then navigate to the file, and overwrite it »manually«. The weird part is, when I now want to close the JPEG-file, Photoshop asks me if I want to overwrite the changed JPEG-file? Clicking yes does the same... open up »Save as« window ... This slows the work process because before, I could just hit save and it overwrote my file.Seem very much like a bug.

I have the digimarc filter downloaded but when i send a lightroom image to photoshop for a digital water mark , the digimarc menu item is greyed outAdobe support says you have to convert the image to 8 bit RGB for this filter to work. Anyone solved the problem?

Using photoshop 24.7.0 on a Mac OS 12.6.8:I have done this many times before and always with great success (photoshop >> machine learning in this respect):1. load ~50 images or so, all taken from the same spot at different times with different cameras2. included in this 50 images is a reference image. I lock this layer and do auto-align.3. Normally everything comes out swimmingly (or I find some images that are totally bogus, in which case I throw them out/crop and try again) For the past 3 days I have been unable to complete this task, because all the images except for the locked layer auto-align, and the locked layer stays, well, locked. I need to be able to crop the images to the dimensions of the locked layer. Having to manually move or nudge the locked layer (or all the other layers) defeats the purpose here. I have tried auto-aligning with 10 layers, I have tried auto-aligning with 3. I am experiencing some very slow performance is PS, it seems to occur mostly when I havee created some masks such as person or background (adjusting exposure or contrast) and then trying to remove certain items and clean the photo up. I am wondering whether this is more related to graphic card or CPU performance. I have worked with PS CS6 for many years. In PS 2025 I have a problem with the copy stamp, for example when I want to stamp out a disturbing spot:I marked a detail to be copied next to the disturbing spot. If I then paste it in the place of the stain, I get a light field. What is the reason for this?Enclosed a picture for demonstration and the copy stamp parameters. The part within the circle was copied, the light fild next to it was the result after pasting.With CS6 no problem (see foto "result with CS6").

Hi all, I'm editing some photos for a client (PS 2024) and every so often once I go into the camera raw filter it crashes and it's REALLY getting annoying, especially when time is money. There's one of two problems and the only way to resolve it is to end task via task manager and re-open. Then it's ok for a couple of photos (usually 3 or 4 MAX), then it does it again!There's one of two problems: either the sliders in the adjustments panel just do not work no matter which way you slide them, or the magnifying glass icon comes up instead of the pointer and none of the buttons will work at all.Any help or advice muchly appreciated as now I am getting behind and the client is expecting the images soon.

Hi all!   I've been doing a lot of work with silhouettes and outlines which require background removal. I've been achieving this using magic wand selection and touching up where needed. I'll typically blow up the design, use some Gaussian Blur + Levels to make the lines clearer. They don't always look perfectly crisp but definitely good enough while the file is in Photoshop. However, whenever it's converted to PNG or SVG and imputted into Illustrator, the lines are no longer straight, but wavy & squiggly.   Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to avoid this? Where can I find tools like the pen and polygonal lasso in the iPad version of Photoshop?I haven’t found basic and essential tools like the Pen Tool and the Lasso with advanced options, which are fundamental for a professional workflow. The app feels more like a simplified version you’d find on a mobile device, which doesn’t align with the expectations one has when purchasing an iPad Pro M4, a significantly more expensive device. I understand that not all the tools from the desktop version can be included, but I expected a more robust and advanced experience than what you get on a mobile phone. Purchasing an iPad suggests an intention to work professionally, not just for casual tasks or social media posts. It’s disappointing to see that such a powerful tool like Photoshop isn’t fully utilizing the iPad’s capabilities.
