Questions

PSE updated to 2021.1 yesterday.  When I used PSE today I was very surprised to see that none of the styles or effects that I had previously added are available.  All are gone.  Elements is like brand new.  What the Hey!  Is this going to happen everytime there is an update. 

 In Elements 14, am I able to create a group in layers.,and if so how would I do that.  Right now, I highlight two layers and right click but the drop down box does not have a choice for (create a group)???My other question is ... If I can't group layers and the instructions on you tube ask for that.  Can I still go ahead without grouping with the same outcome.  Sorry, for all the questions.  Just getting back into things.

Hello,In Photoshop CS5 there was a tool that looked like a ruler. If I used that tool to measure an angle, and then clicked "Rotate," it would automatixally determine the angle. I can't find that tool in Photoshop Elements. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I have my photos organized in file explorer with a folder for each year and subfolder under each year.The bulk import imported the photos in the subfolders but not the photos in the by year root folders.Why?

"There is no application set to open the URL auphd://update?sapCode=PSE&baseVersion=17.0&platform=osx10-64&skipUpdateInfo=true."^Dialogue that comes up when trying to update or quit PSE editor.Downloaded version of PSE 2019 OS X.Changing default browser to Safari/Opera/Firefox/Chrome doesn't change anything.Turning off any/all extensions on all of those browsers doesn't change anything.Obviously, "Choose Application..." and "Search App Store" are not a solution.OSX 10.13.6, latest versions of all browsers.

Just purchased and learning elements 21 elements and when I import photos where are they stored at? thanks

I use Elements 14 and am trying to create a realistic skin texture which I need to turn a layer into a smart object.   I do need to know if Elements 14 has the ability to turn a layer into a smart object and what path would I follow if this is possible.   Need help as soon as possible  Thanks

Something strange is going on today. Now, I want to open a composite image in Filter Gallery. The one I want to open will not appear but its one lawyer does. That is not want I want. Yes, the layers were flattened and saved as a jpg. The one image I'm sending shows the composite and the other image shows a layer.  The composite image will not open in Filter Gallery. I am using Photoshop Elements 2021 on windows 10.

I am using Photoshop elements 2018 to create a large photo book project on my MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.2. I have lost the ability to resize images and frames while creating the book. I can no longer use the move tool to grab and resize a combined image and frame. Here are the symptoms:1. I can grab and move both an already combined image and frame anywhere on the page...but they remain the same size.2. I can double-click within the frame and grab the image then move it and resize it--but when I drag the image outside the frame it seems to disappear behind the page background. The frame remains frozen in place.3. I can open a new blank page in the book and drag an image from the Photo Bin.  When it opens it covers one of the two blank pages and cannot be resized with the move tool.  But, I can still move it.4. Similarly I can drag or click a frame from the graphics area and when it opens it appears large and can be moved but not re-sized. 5. I can open both an image an

Trying to move catalog from old computer to new one.  Both have newly installed Elements 2021.  I perform Full Backup function on old computer to remote hard drive then plug drive into new computer.  Then I run Restore on new computer.  Result is thumbnails but no files.  Can't use Editor without image file.  Tried multiple times with same result.  Any ideas?

I started using Elements a number of years ago and just before Christmas 2020 I decided to upgrade my laptop by installing a Solid State drive. I was amazed at the overall improvement except that I was unable to re-instal Elements, my version is so old that it is no longer supported by Adobe.I can't find any help and I am unhappy at the prospect of paying for a current version of Elements when I simply do not need a current version; I feel like Adobe is giving up on me. Even though it is ancient (Elements 4) it does everything that I need - I have the plug-in so that I can edit 'raw' photos. Help...

I was going to buy from Amazon.fr (France) Photoshop Elements 2021 for Mac as I live in France. On install do I get a choice of languages? I am English so French is no use for me. Thanks

JohnS, NewburyCannot open files downloaded to iPhone of iPad after saving using Photoshop Elements (PE). I have PE 12 and have had the same annoying problem but have now solved it as below:Edit file using Photoshop.Do not use “Save As” instead go to “Save for Web”.Save file as GIF or JPEGJPEG files can be saved in various sizes (High, Low, Medium)Save file, store where needed, then use to send to iPad or iPhone.I have sent a GIF file of up to 3Mb that is OK but a JPEG file of less than 500Kb is probably best. Hi all,I am upgrading to PSE 2021 from PSE 4.0 (yes, it's been a while!).I've done a Full Backup of the content on the old computer (WinXP running PSE4.0) to an eternal hard drive and have then plugged the external drive into the the new PC (Win10 running PSE 2021) and run Restore Catalog.The restoration has worked except for the fact that the old catalog (*.psa format) has not been converted to the new PSE 2021 format (I believe the filename should be *.pseXXdb). It simply created a new *.psa file.Additionally, if I point PSE 2021 (via Manage Catalogs) at the *.psa file, it cannot "see" it.I have read all the help files and many posts on this forum about catalog issues, but to no avail.Am I missing a step somewhere or are the PSE 4.0 catalogs unable to be read/restored by PSE 2021? Any help would be much appreciated as I am trying not to lose years of careful cataloguing of various photos.Regards,Chris

After editing an image, I save the image (not in the same set), replacing the original. When I do this, it saves two copies of the same image. Why?

I have performed Photoshop backup procedure more or less regularly for years, sometimes incremental backup, sometimes full backup. For about 5 yrs I´ve been using the same portable drive for that.The last time I made full backup was Oct 2020. Rather soon after that the computer got broken. Now I have a new computer and new Photoshop.I try to restore the catalogue but face a problem: Photoshop says that the October backup is only incremental backup and that I should present previous 4 discs after that. Well all four (and more) previous backups are on the same portable drive but there still is only one backup.tly file and that is dated 26.10.2020.What can I do to restore the catalog??

As attached, this menu drop down is appearing in Photoshop Elements editor 2018!  How do I make it readable!  All other menu items are reading fine and are at a good font size, except this!  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

As I add location to groups of pictures, many of them are from the same places. But I find, so far anyway, that PSE does not "learn" those locations and I have to fully type in the town and province each time I add a new group of photos from that area. Is PSE built this way or is there a shortcut?

Whenever I would hold the cursor over a tool or feature of PE it would tell me what that tool or feature is.  Now it doesn't do that anymore.  Is there a way to get that back?

I have PSE 2020, and the Dummies book too, but Im not even up to that level.  Im a scrapbooker trying to make prints for an album of our trip to France in 2019.  This is not fun yet.  I need to start with getting rid of one set of about 15,000 photos! Thanks, Dawn

Bonjour,Depuis que j'ai changé d'imprimante (HP OfficeJet Pro 7740) je ne peux plus imprimer avec Photoshop Elements (Version : 18.0 (20201207.m.154403) x64 pour Windows). L'imprimante est bien sélectionnée mais j'ai le message "car l'imprimante par défaut n'a pas pu être ouverte". Mon imprimante est en réseau sur la box, c'était déjà le cas de l'Epson que j'utilisais précédemment. Bien sûr, j'imprime sans problème avec les autres applications.
