Hi, I've been working on a project for two days and suddenly Pr stopped allowing me to drag effects into my timeline. I can drag anything else I want, and through keyboard shortcuts, I can apply default transitions to my clips. However, I cannot open the editing window, select an effect, and simply drag it in. When I try, my cursor becomes a grabbing hand with a little crossed circle beside it informing me that I cannot drag the effect. I have tried resetting the project, resetting all my preferences and caches, resetting to adobe's saved layout for workspaces, read other community posts about similar issues and have tried all the methods that were brought up in those threads, and nothing seems to work. My only option now it seems, is to reinstall Pr, and start the project from scratch if I want to drag effects into my timeline. That's my last resort if anything, but I hope a community member has a simple answer for me that I'm too dumb to see lol. Thank you!
Hi, I've recently opened another project that was created by someone else and I get this message: (Missing Video Filter: Looks). At certain points, the screen cuts to black when playing the video and I've been unable to fix. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, I have a problem with stabilization when exporting error -1609629695. I have an apple macbook pro M4. Does anyone have any advice? thank you

But when i click it and then click again, nothing happens. I want to use the Remix tool in the tool bar, but i can't because of this. Can somebody help me?

I work for a small internet media company, we produce and distribute video podcasts through platforms like YouTube. Some of our shows are recorded using software like Riverside or Streamyard. The past 2 weeks, we have utilized Riverside to record a 3-camera show and after downloading that video/audio from the site, laid it into Premiere for sync/edit. We have overlays for ISO, 2-box, and 3-box looks and I have been nesting the footage with it's respective overlay to make the edit easier since I'm manually cutting cameras. To be clear, I have a 3-box next, a 2-box nest, and 3 ISO nests. None of the nests contain audio. Export settings are: Video: H.264 | 1920x1080 | 23.976 FPS | VBR 1 pass 12Mbps Audio: AAC | 320 kbps | 48Hz The file size is 5GB. Again, we are an internet media company exporting out small file sizes relative to anything that would be used for broadcast (I have worked for 2 major networks and have experience with huge file sizes a
i have identical projects on 24 and 25is it the inclusion of colour management that has borked the performance in PP 25? In 24 I was able to work with 8k h.265 files with 2 lots of lumetri effects and 3 adjustment layers in the timeline and it would play back. There is no chance with 25. Ditto 5K dji h.265s. Its so bad that grading is almost impossible - I will change a value in a lumetri effect and it will not update in the preview window, I'll have to move the playhead to see the effect. windows 11 24H2PPro 25.2.1 (25.3 had a showstopping render bug I had to roll back).
This is the response I received from Vimeo. The Vimeo panel within Premiere is optional, and you can still continue to upload using the previous method. We recommend using the upload method that you feel most comfortable with. The main difference between the two is that the panel is located within your project window to allow for quick and easy uploading. This product was created with collaboration in mind, to allow for editors to easily share their sequences for quick feedback within a few clicks. In addition, the panel was developed in house, so it's in our power to troubleshoot and fix any issues that arise. The "Share to Vimeo" function was built and maintained by Adobe (using our API), which makes it difficult to troubleshoot from our side of things. Both options do allow for direct upload to Vimeo from editing software, so I agree that the differences are currently minimal. Although, we are planning to add some additional functionality to the panel in the near future. This includes
I am editing large PNG's in the current version of Premiere Pro. I am layering them and using both opacity changes to 0% and fade outs on the layered clips. It looks fine in Premiere, but the exports, whether they are h.264 or quicktime, show a little blip of brightness as though at the very end of the fade, it doesn't go all the way to 0% opacity. I have tried everything but nothing works. Has anyone had this problem or know how to solve it? Thanks!
I’m experiencing an issue with Premiere Pro 2025 where the GPU renderer optionMercury Playback Engine – GPU Acceleration (CUDA)is permanently grayed out – even in brand new projects with standard 1080p25 sequences and I-Frame MPEG preview settings. My system:Windows 10 ProNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (driver 14.08.2024)64 GB RAMPremiere Pro 2025 (latest version, German UI)✅ GPUSniffer confirms full CUDA support:“Found CUDA device… No capability restrictions detected”✅ Hardware encoding (NVENC) is working fine (e.g. with YouTube export presets and VBR 1-pass / CBR).❌ But in the Project Settings, the GPU renderer is always locked to "Software Only" – and the dropdown is disabled. In Premiere Pro 2024 on the same system, CUDA works perfectly and is freely selectable. I’ve attached both compatibility reports for your reference. Please investigate and fix this issue. I'm staying on 2024 for now, but I'd prefer to use 2025 long-term.Thank you!
I have the same problem; after the last upgrade, Premier Pro will not open. I installed the Microsoft Visual C++ Service Pack, rebooted, nothing. I uninstalled, re-installed, rebooted, nothing. It just doesn't open. No problem at all with Photoshop and Lightroom. I mix music for a living, this is a stupid simple task in the audio world. I'm trying to apply a hard limiter to the master track. How do I do this? I've been trying to drag and drop the Hard Limiter effect from the Effects panel --> Audio Track Mixer master track. It won't let me do that. How do I add FXs to the master audio track?
So I have this happen A LOT, and I'm wondering what I can do about it. I'm editing a bunch of MP4 files that are all recorded at 25 FPS with 32KHz audio -- they're all a bunch of Zoom presentations. Anyway, I add a couple to the timeline and do a couple of cuts and all of a sudden the audio is out of sync when I play the preview. Maybe I've done editing to the audio and maybe I haven't -- it doesn't seem to matter one way or the other. The ONLY WAY I have found to get the stupid thing to sync up properly again is to save the project, exit Adobe Premiere Pro entirely, then re-load PP and re-load the project. Then it's magicially all synced up again. And stays that way for awhile. In fact, it usually stays that way until I start a new project. But it shouldn't happen at all -- why does it happen? How do I fix it when it does happen WITHOUT exiting this stupid program and going back into it? Everything I Google talks about audio not syncin
I have some .aep files linked into a Premiere file, but they aren't updating properly. I'd like to either reload them or just relink them, but neither options are available. Both 'Replace Footage' and 'Link Media' are greyed out. It seems you can only replace links like this when they are offline... my files aren't offline, they just aren't updating to the latest version. Do I need to delete them and then import them again?
I've spent around 15-20 hours on a project. when I was about 5 minutes from finishing, I maximized the timeline panel as shown in the 1st picture below. While trying to click "Restore Panel Group Size" I hit this spacebar, or some hotkey, or accidentally hit "close panel group". When I reopened the timeline panel, all my hours of hard work were instantly gone. How do I recover my sequence on the timeline? If you can fix this problem for me, I will send you $20 through paypal.
Hello, That I explain my problem: for my reports I have to apply animations when, for example, I display the name of the interviewee. To make the process faster I created some .morgt on after-effect which I then added to the essential graphic objects of premiere pro. So far so good. The problem is: on the video, once it is exported, when my animations appears and then disappears, a veil appears then disappears on the whole image as well. I initially believed in a very transparent background problem but none of that, except my graphics and my texts, nothing composed my animations. I also thought of a graphics card problem but it is not, I exported on different PCs and OS. To visually identify the problem I put a youtube link where the problem is very visible (at 0:26 and 0:34): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bqDosjAM7M I appeal to you then, is it a problem with the setting of my compositions on after-effect? of my export settings on premiere / media encoder? Because when I create .
Motion Array transitions from the plugin is not applying between clips, i tried each and everything to fix it from uninstalling to reinstalling, downgrade to upgrade but its same. What is shocking for me is it is working perfetcly fine on the premiere pro beta version which means there is any kind of bug or something
Hey Everyone,I started playing around more with the roughen edges effect. How do I apply the effect to cropped video? Let's say I want to crop my 16:9 video to look more vertical and I want to round the edges.
Suddenly Premiere an Media Encoder started exporting ProRes 4444 as black films.I've used the same export preset that i've used for years so it's really odd.ProResHQ and H264 works fine.Seems to be an issue with ProRes 4444.Tested with my ProRes422HQ preset that renders films that looks just fine - and only changed to 4444 = Black rendersThe clips are black in Quicklook and Quicktime. Can play them in VLC and they work fine in AE, Premiere and Resolve.I've uppgraded Premiere, AE, Resolve to the latest versions and MacOS (Monterey 12.7.6).Uninstalled Adobe Beta apps.Cleared Media Cache in Premiere.Even tried with projects that didn't have any issues and i've delivered - now black renders.Super annoying. My colleagues also see my renders as black clips in Quicktime but can import them in Premiere, Resolve, VLC and so on.Anyone have had the same problem?! Hello, Is there a way to export a custom metadata schema (with values intact) and import it onto another machine/profile on a shared environment? I found the xmp_view_settings.xml but that doesn't seem to carry over custom schemas, or values added to the Premiere Pro Project Metadata schema.
Hi all, Let's say I have a clip with linked audio, the video is in V2 and the audio is in A2. When I click and drag the video, it moves the video and layer clips to whatever tracks are vertically above the current ones so video to V3 and the audio to A1. Is there a way to make the audio and video both move to chronologically higher numbered tracks (so the video to V3 and the audio to A3) rather than both of them moving to tracks positioned physically higher in the UI (V3 and A1).
We need help with a bug we are experiencing in Premiere. Unfortuanateley, this problem has caused a lot of lost time identifying what exactly was occurring over the last few weeks but I think today we are finally able to identify the problem. The issue appears when taking AE renders and importing them into a project. We have been using AE renders instead of Dynamic Linking as there are mltiple people working on this project. The problem occurs when we import a new version of an AE render and then select that render in the bin and the old clip in the timeline. We then select "Replace with Clip from bin" to put the new version on the timeline. Now that the new version is there, we are saving, exporting and all seems fine most of the time. Then later when we re-open the same project to make another change, we(and our clients) are noticeing that some of the earlier changes are missing and have reverted back to earlier versions. We we
How do you drag around a video with the white hand in premeire Pro like you can in AE, PS, and AI? If the aswer is that you cannot, please just go inhale a vapor cloud of pure covid-19, then feel free to reply asking about my computer hardware.
I can't drag audio into the time line if I've made an in-out selction. It will only let me drag the full audio file into timeline.I'm using 2025, it's fully updated, I've restarted Premiere and my computer multiple times.Still having same problem.
We are having an issue where any new audio brought into a project is not heard on Zoom meetings by the recipient. Exisiting audio (from the project a few months ago) is heard. How can we fix/address this problem?
