Hi.Good ole' FCPX Veteran here looking to take my professional editing to Premier. Industry dictates the need.I know I'm late to the game. Don't judge. Have come mercy those of you who have been with Premier since when Avid and FCP7 were the standards. Can you all recommend the creme' de la creme - or whatever the saying is - top notch online learning courses? At this stage in my career I don't have the time or money to go back to school. Many have told me not to waste my money. But, I'd be willing to spend a little if it meant sitting down for, say, all weekends for one month, to learn everything. Please note: I know there are TONS of free resources on Adobe, YouTube, etc. But, I'm at a point in my career where unfortunately for me, I feel like I've hit a glass ceiling regarding learning everything I can learn through self teaching. I need a course that forces me to sit down and learn good foundations from file ingestion and organization (Media Encoder/Prelude?) to editing and output so
I have been using PP since I first started editing video. I have always enjoyed it, but lately every update seems to create bugs that didn't exist in the previous version! I just spent a day recolouring the whole project because the update changed the way all the luts read. Ok fine, my state of the art software cost me half a day, that's how used to it happening with PP I am. Now I have noticed that the this update has caused absolute havoc with all my DJI files (Mavic 3). Files that were playing perfect now are jumpy or completely frozen in the edit (despite rendering), and then I did a test export and they are exporting like that as well (attached). It basically seems that if you have any ongoing projects you SHOULD NOT update your premiere pro because you are going to have to redo all your work. So now what, reinstal the old version so my DJI files work again, but lose all the colour grading AGAIN?! I am on deadline and do not have the l
I'm trying to set up a cleanfeed monitor using the Decklink 4K Extreme 12G card. For 16by9 sequences that works great, but 9by16 results in no output because it's not supported. Are there any monitoring options (like in DaVinci) to re-pack the signal and handle mismatched resolution/ratios? If you set one of your monitors in the playback preferences that seems to work just fine, but I'd like to find a workflow with the external video card.
Hello, good afternoon.I’m encountering some issues with exporting a video. I previously used the same method for exporting and didn’t encounter this problem. In this sequence, I used masks and the Basic 3D effect on the video. The preview in Premiere looks fine, but in the export preview, the shape of the mask is distorted. How can I correct this issue? Thank you.
Hi everyone I've been working on my premier pro file for the past 3 days, using imported psd files and there's been no problem. This morning however the link between photoshop files and premiere pro stopped, so I tried to relink the media. This is what popped up: I've tried the following: - moving the photoshop files to another folder and relinking there - changing the name of the photoshop file- ensuring the photoshop layers are in RGB format Another thing to note, is that when trying to re-link my psd files in premiere pro, I'm unable to click on the sub-folders within 'Macintosh HD'. I think this is an important issue because my psd files are inside my 'library' sub-folder within Macintosh HD. I'm able to enter the sub-folders for everything else, i.e. my external hard drives. Urgent help would be extremely appreciated, thank you!!
What might the fundamental Problem? I am facing mulitple crashes on multible occasions - solving one problem causes the next one. Premiere becomes extremely slow, then causes the UI of the whole Operating System to crash. I am going constantly trough all the common routines ( 10 things to do when Premiere is slow): Clearing cashes, resetting everthing, updating everything ... you name it. On top Premiere keeps loosing render files. Im am just a (very) frustrated user and don´t want to be forced to become a computer nerd. Recently editing Takes with applied effects like KI-voiceenhancement causes immediate crashes. Editing Subtitels: Boom. Spinning Beachball of death. Premiere Beta does it too. But only Premeire. No other App! I am runnig Sonoma on an i9 iMac from 2020 with 64 GB RAM and a Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16GB - should be capable enough!? Datas are on on SSD G-Raid Shuttle connected via TB3. What am I missing?
Is there a way to remove proxies?Once you are done with them and want to clear up some hard drive space I am going to probably delete proxies. I have tried this but once you delete the proxies the project constantly asks to reconnect the proxy files at project open and when you double click on a clip on the timeline it asks for "Edit Offline File" instead of opening in the source monitor. Am I missing some functionality here? Seems like an obvious oversight. If its not already in the program, hopefully they can add a button to the media re-link windows that allows you to "forget proxies" or something.
I have used the synchronize audio feature many times. Today I'm running into a new behavior and I'm wondering if it's normal. I have a small AE comp (dynamic link) in the timeline, above my footage. The audio in the AE comp is from the same exact audio in the footage. I kept it that way on purpose, so that I could use the synchronize audio feature to sync it to the correct point in the timeline quickly and accurately. But, every time I try to synchronize audio, I get the "a match could not be found" dialog. Even though, it's literally the exact same audio file in both clips: the footage and the AE comp. Just to make sure, I tried syncing another clip with audio to the footage and it worked fine. Also, in the past, when this error occasionally happened, I found that choosing "Render Audio" first would make the sync work. But, not this time. So apparently... synchronize audio will not work, under any circumstances, with dynamically linked AE comps... is that correct?
I want to change a picture in a premiere pro preset, but i can't click the options. how can i fix it? thank you
Hi there, I'm sending out the Bruce Bullis bat signal! Wondering if there is any way in the API to get the source media files that constitute a Merged clip or a Multicam clip? I see that I can easily find out if a project item is either of those using the API:if (item.type === ProjectItemType.CLIP) { if (item.isMulticamClip() || item.isMergedClip()) { .... what now?I tried e.g. item.videoComponents()but videoComponents.numItems is 0 for a Multicam made from 3 clips, as well as a merged clip made from one video and one audio source file. Kind regards,Max
I'm trying to write a synth importer, and I was wondering if it is possible for source settings to have keyframes, and have the importer access to the animated value for each frame.I want a synth importer that generates noise, and have the scale of the noise keyframable. I tried to make it an effect applied to color matte, but it can't be used in Essential Graphics, I did find out that importers can be used in essential graphics, but I don't know how to get keyframes working.
I have googled/youtubed and the options people are putting are greyed out for me or i just dont have them. Im wanting to speed up my frames from my still images in my timelapse so it goes faster. Options i have tried are right clicking and hitting speed/duration and the speed is greyed out. Right clicking modify and interpret footage and the frame rate area is greyed out. Also trying to change my sequence settings and that is also greyed out. I am brand new to this so not 100% sure what im doing wrong. Any and all tips are appreciated.

For over a month, i wanted to use Premiere Pro on my PC. I downloaded it on my PC (with the latest version first). Once it's installed, I tried to launch the software. the loading screen for a few seconds and then it disappears. The app seems to close itself a few seconds after I tried to launched it. I'm not able to use Premiere AT ALL ! Does anyone knows what could be the problem ? I've tried anything, all the research possible on the Internet to solve the issue and i've found nothing. When I say anything, i mean it. I tried to use an older version, deleted the cache manually, i tried to uninstall the entire Creative Cloud and reinstall it, reinstall Premiere Pro again and nothing changes.
Hello I am a Post Supervisor and Assistant Editor and my team has just ran into a truely perplexing issue that I am completely stumped by. We seem to have issues with clips from a certain shooting day, where our lead editor is getting the famous "stripes of death" on almost all the video clips (and sound clips, which are not linked to the video clips), from this one shooting day. the other clips from other shooting days are so far fine. Even weirder, the clips that he pulled from (the original daymaster sequence) are totally fine. When I look at the clips in his sequence it seems they have a completely incorrect TC now from the master clips in the other Daymaster Project, which is strange as nothing was changed to these clips in his sequence. So far I have tried almost every work around I've heard of (media cache, relinking media, creating a new path for the media, find bin replace clip etc.) to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? At the moment I
Hello everyone, I know nothing about Premiere, and I want to create a 30 second time-lapse video from 50 digital images. Two will be shown per second, I want the video to end showing the last image and staying there for the remaining five seconds. Also, I want to add a song that plays throughout. Can someone recommend a good tutorial video to show me how to do this? I have been looking but I find them a bit all over the place. Thank you Greg
I logged on today trying to find answers to the what seems to be the same issue that's suddenly plagueing me, too. After saving and closing yesterday, I opened my project to continue pulling selects from a interview sequence and all my clips that I've made a cut to have the stripes of death. Everything beyond where I left off yesterday is still in sync. I used Tentacle Sync to sync footage from a two-camera shoot with a separate audio recorder, and it all was fine. Later on I decided I wanted to pull the audio into Audition to clean up the noise a bit, and relinked that cleaned up file with the footage after doing so. Same process I've used many times.
I've had issues with Premiere where it labels footage as "VR" automatically when the footage isn't intended for VR. (Mostly videos I rendered in another program that were 1920x1920 but had black letterboxing at the top and bottom.) Turning off the setting (once I realize it was doing this) wasn't hard, but since I don't work in VR I'd really prefer to not deal with this every time I want to render a video for Instagram. I tried searching Adobe support but couldn't find any information on this. Is there a setting to disable VR auto-detection?
This has been happening for maybe the last 6-8 months. I followed the same process before too, I download a video from insta, drag it into Pr in order to sync my clips but since recently there is the tiniest skip in the audio. If I refresh it, it could be at a different place in the timeline. It is also in the source monitor. It is not heard when I play this download in media player. I have tried changing frame rates, once in a while making a new sequence removes the problem, but sometimes it comes back again. Recently had Adobe Support look at that and somehow since then Pr is crashing even more so than usual. Any advice would be helpful.
Hi all,I have a weird issue that I cannot seem to resolve. I have recorded voice-overs in Premiere Pro just fine, with crisp sound and fine quality. Now I have a new laptop from work, where I want to do the same with the exact same microphone (HyperQuad). However, on my new laptop the recordings are muffled, as if it's from a lower quality. I have checked the settings of Audio & Audio Hardware on both laptops, but they are the same. The Premiere Pro versions on both are the same. How is it that the voice recording on the one works perfect, and on my new laptop sounds muffled? Thanks,Wes I hope somebody recognises the issue and has a solution.
Hello @Mathias Moehl Question - is it possible to create a script in Automation Blocks that copies volume automation keyframes from a Submix track to a standard audio track/clip? I usually like to come to you with a partial attempt, but I don't see any audio keyframing in any of the blocks.
Just found a glitch with the latest update of Premiere, at least my copy (13.1.4). Hitting Spacebar does the exact same thing as hitting Option+K (on a Mac) in that it only plays from the In point to the Out point on the timeline. As long as I have an In point and an Out point I am unable to just play in the timeline as normal, it always jumps straight to the In Point. If I want to just hit play I have to first clear the In/Out points. As you can imagine this is disruptive. Has anyone else seen this/found a fix?Attached is a screenshot of my keyboard preferences (which have not been changed) showing that these two behaviors (Spacebar vs Opt+K) should behave differently.Cheers!
Does anyone know if there is a way to skip to the next clip in the source window? Rather than having to go back to Project Window and click on the next clip? Cheers, Arthur

Hey all. I'm wanting to create the effect where a comic book flow is shown in the video and i'm moving from one text-box to another with pan & zoom movements. Just figuring this out and open to any suggestions fro better visual transitions and clarity yet the first part is figuring out how to slow down a Premiere clip.Essentially what i'm visualizing is a movement through the comic book page which finds a smooth transition (not the super-quick thing i've got) between the text panels and which slows down the ideally smoother movement.
