Hi Adobe Community 🙂I was using Acrobat to put together a time-sensitive work presentation in PDF form (artist showcase and budget proposal for a major live music event) - This file was quite data heavy (plenty of HD images, hyperlinks, quite a lot of corresponding text formatted in a custom typeface, autosave turned on), with Acrobat seemingly eating up quite a lot of my CPU as it was operating quite slowly when adding in new images, text boxes, gifs and so on. When adding a 4th image to a page, Acrobat went into the dreaded spinning beach-ball of death for 4-5 minutes, then crashing. Upon relaunch, it asked me to give Acrobat full disk permissions, which I went ahead and did, this rebooted Acrobat and now the working file and all of it's contents are nowhere to be seen in the recently opened/edited launch page and is back to original stock template stock version of the file after over 10 hours of work on the project.  I have not found any threads on how to find

Hello, Good day everyone. I have a user who has an issue whereby whenever he opens a PDF file with Adobe Acrobat DC, it keeps having the same "not responding" issue after perhaps a few seconds to a minute after opening it. And it will be "not responding" forever.However, this issue already resolved after we applied with this solution.https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.htmlUser no longer have the "not responding" issue when opening and working with PDF files. However, it seems there is an error keeps showing everytime when he startup the computer. The error message is AcroCEF.exe - Application Error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). I tried repairing and also re-installing Adobe but the issue somehow still persists.Any other advice for this? I have also attached the error message.    

Hello. I use Adobe Acrobat for third parties to sign contracts. However, they recently changed the interface, and it has become terrible. The change makes the process of sending contracts take at least five times longer. I would like to know how to revert to the previous version; the new one is awful. Thanks!

I've been using Acrobat's indexing pretty much since it was introduced and through several Macs (I'm an old Mac user since the MacPlus). This problem is on a new MacBook Pro M4 I bought a few days ago and freshly installed Adobe products.. My attempt at creating a full-text index ended up with this:    Starting rebuild of Index : /Users/tlmurray/Documents/AcrIdx/Amazon.pdx     Error: Could not create folder : /Users/tlmurray/Documents/AcrIdx/Amazon    Error: Index build failed    Deleting files from current index    Error: Index build failed Permissions are the same here as they are for a new folder:Even though these are the same as any other new folder, the problem looks like permissions. Any ideas?Thanks.

Is there a way to keep the highlight tool turn on? working with acrobat dc pro 10, the highlight tool turn off automatically after each highlight operation, and have to click it on again. just suffered...appreciate if anyone can answer

I have created a fillable and signable form on Acrobat. This is intake paperwork for my therapy clients. After I save it, it is no longer fillable or signable. Any advice? 

I would like to restrict the access to a pdf to specific participants (internals and externals of my organization). With the "Encrypt with Certificate" option I tried to select the recipients via the search function but always get the notification not found when I enter the email address. What do I need to do different? Is there another functionality in Acrobat pro to restrict the pdf access to only specific people? Thank you.

Downloaded a fillable tax form from CRA and filled in some data and closed the document, now when I open it a password dialouge prevents me from opening the document. How do I fill this form and open it without a password, I did not instigate password for this document.

When I print from a Portfolio, I can only choose Current PDF or All PDF files in this portfolio. Is there a way to print only the pre-selected PDFs? When I select the component files I want to print and go to File>Print, it does not give me the option. Thank you. Using Acrobat Pro DC

Hi,I have a Acrobat Prpo 10 TLP Volume License. After changing my Windows 10 PC to a new Windows 11 PC my License is no longer accepted. I can install the software, but at the first start I get the message that the License No. is invalid and it switches to a demo version. When I re-enter the License No. I get the information that the No. is invalid.Adobe 10 is out of Support, but I don't want to switch to a subscription. Has anybody a solution how to fix thsi license error?Thank you in advance.Michael

Hi Adobe team,I have an Adobe Acrobat perpetual liscence that I want to register to my account and install on my new laptop; however it comes up with the error serial number already in use. Old installations have been deactivated. I read from similar posts that I'll need to get Adobe support to reset my applications but there doesn't seem to be any way to contact Adobe. The phone line doesn't have support for Acrobat and the chat simply doesn't work.Any advise would be appreciated.

Can we access and do the actions available in Acrobat Pro DC such as Edit PDF using command line execution? is it possible? if yes, please help me with the execution procedure.

Hi, starting yesterday for no apparent reason, all of my PDF files open as mostly black pages. Much of the photos are still there, but b/w text is gone, replaced by solid black.  Any thoughts? 

This is an odd problem to explain, so bear with me. Here's the point-form general idea ... open PDF File1 (opens in maximized window)minimize File1 window & set desired size for that windowclose Acrobat while in the minimized windowopen PDF File2 (opens as expected in desired-size minimized window just set)maximize File2 windowopen PDF File3 (opens as expected in maximized window)minimize File3 window ... does NOT go to desired size as set for File1, but a minimized size from some previous sessionThat's the best I can describe the issue. Essentially, the ideal minimized size I want (per File1 setting on close) just won't "keep". Acrobat keeps reverting back to a prior minimized-window size I had set months ago. And I can't get it to "forget" that size, and stick with the one I want.  I've attached two screenshots to show the "desired" minimized size (aaa), and the one that keeps coming on opening any subsequent file (bbb). The only clue I have is that

We are using a LIMS to generate a specific report. However, the report software (Crystal Reports) is unable to correctly add page numbers, as the report contains cross tab tables that will span > 2 pages. Is there a way via the command line to call Adobe Acrobat Pro to edit the pdf and add the page numbers? With a user interacting with the Acrobat, there are pagination functions available to add the page number and total pages, i.e. Page X of Y.  We plan to apply this soltuion on a server so multiple users generating the reports from the LIMS would all have the same functionality. Buenos díasTenemos un problema que solo nos sucede con la version de pago Adobe DC. Al ir a firmar un documento digitalmente se bloquea. O se queda la aplicacion traslucida como si fuese a intentar abrir el certificado a seleccionar, o aparece un error como que ha de reparase la aplicacion. Si se desinstala, funciona la primera vez, luego ya se bloquea. Sin embargo, con el Reader no sucede esto. Alguna solucion o pista?Gracias. 

Get error message "The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder." Preview is NOT enabled in File Explorer.Nobody else has the PDF open.Closing File Explorer or changing to a location other than where the PDF is saved allows the PDF to be saved. (This is not a practical solution though).Using Save As to save over the existing PDF works. I have seen this issue pop up from posts as far back as 2020 but know-it-alls scream turn of Preview in File Explorer, but as stated above, Preview is not enabled. What is the solution, Adobe?

Hello. Since the latest update I am now unable to send the documents I need signed away to people. I can go through all other steps such as filling in the document and adding places for signatures, but nothing happens when I click the "Send" button.  I don't know what to do anymore... I haven't seen anyone else with this problem and all my systems are updated. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

I have to remediate a number of PDF maps for which I do not have the source document. The design fails many of the accessibility checks (color, design, etc) so I'm moving things around to create a better format. If I move the map legend, the text in the icons disappears. They also disappear if I try to fix the reading order to meet the accessibility requirements. I have tried moving the text within the contents panel but it is not working. The only way I have gotten it to work is by deleting the text and re-writing it. Then changing the reading order makes it disappear, but I can fix it in the content panel at that point. This is taking a significant amount of time to do and I have to remediate hundreds of these. Is there a better way to fix this issue?

 These options used to be available but now they are greyed out. I can't find any settings that will turn them back on again. I need the redact tool for removing sensitive information from documents  

Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to assist me.  I'm in the process of developing a fillable PDF whereby I would like to add a value of '3' to the current year, to reflect when the contract will expire/end.  Currently, I have a field whereby the user enters in the year (e.g. 2025; the field is called 'Year_af_date'), and further down in the document I need to add the expiry/end date.  For the expiry/end date field, I have used Simplified Field Notation with '3' added to the year field ('Year_af_date').  However, upon previewing the PDF, the '3' appears as a default value until the current year (e.g. 2025) is entered.  I have tried everything to eliminate the default value of '3', but to no avail.  This seems like it should be a simple fix.. Would anyone know how to prevent the '3' from appearing? Before the date field is updated:After the date field is updated: (i.e. 2025 +3)I would appreciate any suggestions!  Thanks in advance! 

I just found that Acrobat DC Pro writes too much data on my disk. Over 200GB was written within one day. For example, it will write 200MB when I just highlight a few lines and save the file. Do you have the same issue? OS: macOS 12.6  AcrobatVersion: 2022.001.20112

My first post! I am looking to have my text fields each be worth 1 point, so when they fill out the field it adds into my sum.  I cannot see a way to have my text field be fillable but still have a value? thanks for any help   

How to make the actual hyperlink visible when creating a link in a PDF document? Not just the visible / invisible rectangle but the link itself. For me, the link itself is always invisible!
