I am looking for help on how i make a duplicate of my rh 2019 xpj project, reataing all docs, links, toc, index, etc. Is there a way to do this, without affecting my original project, so the origirnal project can be used for the new project edits/updates/additions/deletions? Thanks for any help, instructions to accomplish. Matt
Hi,The TOC for one of the child projects I have seems to break almost every time when I make changes to the project. It doesn't necesarily has to be a change to the TOC, it could just be a change to one document from the Content Section. It happens randomly so I couldn't establish what is causing it.The project has over 500 documents and I would say approx. half of them would dissapear from the table of content when this happens (please see image attached). I keep having to zip the project before making any changes and then if this happens I have to use the back up version, make exactly the same changes and it works. I am not doing anything different. Is this something I am doing wrong or is it a bug in Robohelp 2020?Thanks,Andrei Cojocaru
Although the breadcrumbs generate, if you select one of them, the topic relating to that breadcrumb does not display. You remain in the original topic. Secondly, if you do a search and select a topic from the Search results, the breadcrumbs do not change to reflect the location of the topic you selected in the Search results.
In my Word output, for lists I get this:I can see in my Word document that I have a hanging indent and a left tab. The left tab is the wrong place. The hanging indent is in the right place. If I type directly in the Word document, and apply a list style, the lists style is applied correctly. The lists are correct in the HTML and PDF outputs.
This only applies to Word. The output is fine in PDF and HTML. I sometimes want a table within a list. I've tried creating the tables directly in the li tag and putting them in a p tag within an li tag but I get the same results. The text in the table does not line up with the border of the table and if there is text formatting like bold, it cause the text after the formatted text to appear on a new line.
Hi, we are in the process of upgrading from RoboHelp 2017 to RoboHelp 2019 and I am having trouble getting the SharePoint connection to work for version control. When we upgraded our current project, it removed the SharePoint settings we had set up (it would have been nice to know that those wouldn't transfer over...it makes me worry that there are other settings that didn't transfer as well). I then figured out that although we used the SharePoint Connector in the 2017 version to connect to the version of SharePoint hosted on our company website, that is no longer an option with RoboHelp 2019.We have Sharepoint Online accounts, so it's possible to switch over to SharePoint Online, but when I add a connection profile nothing happens. I'm signed in and connected, but no folders show up in the selection window (see below) even though there are folders on the Sharepoint site:The RoboHelp instructions were so vague that they aren't any help. When I was on the phone with Adobe support, the
Does anyone know how to add a graphic, which is a banner, so that it automatically resizes to the width of the page, regardless of the page width?
I am using RoboHelp 2019 (going to RH 2020 soon), with a huge help project that has Responsive HTML5 output. Our help is "attached" to our application, and help topics are launched when the user clicks the Help button on a web page in the system. Of course, there's the option to switch to "full context" view when the individual topic is displayed in my Charcoal_Grey layout. Here's an example of what appears when I click the Help button from within the application (context-sensitive mode): The problem is that we have many hyperlinks to bookmarks in various places, both within the same topic and within other topics. In the example below, the hyperlink is set to go to the bookmarked "Filtering the Display" steps included above: However, when I click the hyperlink, it goes to a different place, 2 lines below the bookmark target for "Filtering...". In the project, these sets of steps (in this example) are bookmarked as below: This
I have a skin that was created in RoboHelp 11. Quiet a bit of the skin had to be created outside of the out of box skin editer provided by RoboHelp. This skin worked with RoboHelp 2017 but when I upgrade my files to RoboHelp 2020 my skin defaults to the framless (Indigo) layout. Does anyone know where I can locate directions to maintian my current skin in RoboHelp 2020, rather than have to create an entirely new skin?
After upgrading to RoboHelp 2020, all of the numbers and bullets from my multi-level lists have vanished. I know this is because we have changed the way that style sheets and code works in RoboHelp 2020 to a better method. However, is there a script or fix available from Adobe that can help fix this problem and insert the li, ol and ul codes that are required for lists? The only way I can seee to fix it is by doing something like the following but I don't want to have to do this maually to thousands of topics. The following shows the numbers and bullets before the upgrade. We also have substeps that are indented in some topics. This shows the numbers and bullets missing after the upgrade. This shows the code after the upgrade. This shows the changes that I think need to happen to the code to make it work:
I recently upgraded from RH2017 to RH2020, and I generate webhelp (now Responsive HTLM5). One of the unwelcome changes I've found is the search results contain the topic title, some text from the topic, and what looks like a series of breadcrumb links. We don't want all that. Webhelp search results was a single-spaced list of topic titles and nothing more. Is there any way I can get back to that minimal list of results? (I found a post in this community about this issue, but it was from 5 or 6 years ago, and I don't think it's still correct.) Another disappointing aspect of the new search results is that the "Highlight Search Results" option is gone. Users really liked that, and I'm getting complaints about that. Anyway I can restore that option with RH2020 Responsive HTML5 output?
HiCan I run Robohelp server 8 on Linux machine.I can't seem to get a clear answer from the net.Regards
Using RoboHelp 2020.3.32. Generating to Responsible HTML5 Output. Just updated our site using RoboHelp 2020 (was in 2019). Our Table of Contents has pages with hyperlinks to other sections of the site. RoboHelp 2019 had the traditional option to open the link in the saame frame, parent frame, new window, etc. That option is no longer there for the links in the TOC. The very big issue is that all of these links are opening in the frame - these sites have their own TOC. Therefore, there's a main TOC and another TOC opening in the frame. Can someone please tell me how to get these links to open in a new window? I've tried everything I can think of (by manipulating the URL). Unfortunately, we now have to go live with the site this way in the morning so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi All, We have added a mini TOC in the Project which donot need an indentation for Mini TOC on the page (Responsive help). For example, if we have heading 2, heading 3, heading 4 and so on on the page, then we want all those headings or atleast heading 2-4 to be included in the minitoc; but the mini toc must not be indented. Can anyone please help with this issue. Thank you! Currently this is happening: Expected Output is this:
Hi, is it possible to import a series of Zendesk Knowledge Base articles into RH in order to create an offline CHM from it?
Does anyone know if the Chrisi skin can be used in RH 2020? This is a skin we have used with webhelp for many years, but it does not seem to be available in RH 2020. When I try to add an HTML5 skin, Chrisi is not one of the skins available. If I use the Skin Import function and navigate to my RH2017 project in the !SkinSubFolder!/Chrisi folder, chrisi.skn is not recognized because the import function is looking for only skz and slz files.
Hello,We are soon going to be officially moving to the RH2020/latest upgrade. We have been using RH 2017 to get a responsive HTML5 output until now. After we move to the latest upgrade/tool there will be a while/some transition period until we start the new frameless output. We still want to be able to use the existing source in the RH 2020 upgrade to generate the responsive html5 output, similar to what we used to get in 2017.Can the Responsive HTML5 output from RH 2020 upgrade give us that? Does this output work the same as it would if generated from RH 2017?
Maybe I'm missing something but I can't find any documention on how to create a permanent link to a help topic. The links seem to be related to the folder location and file name of the topic. What I would like to not have happen is have someone move a topic to another folder and then break a whole bunch of links across applications.
Facing issues in viewing the html output of the user manual generated using RoboHelp9 when opened in Chrome browser from a Chromebook; whereas the html output file is working fine when opened in Chrome browser from a Windows system. Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Hi guys, I want to remove some elements from our custom skin, created from a template. For example: we want to remove logo and header from the home page and header from the topic page.I tried to make them transparent, but the header and logo are the links to a home page and their boxes still there and clickable.Customizing skin file gives 0 results, cause will robo re-write it after generating. Is there a good way to add/remove/edit this elements from a skin?
Hello all, I have a question, as per the attached, when i output to "Frameless" its a beautiful thing, I've learned how to edit the skin but I would like to change the generic icons to photos or my own icon. How can this be done, trust me, I have been googling.. [image added by moderator - please use image icon in web interface instead of attachments]
Hello RoboHelpers, Let me state/restate at the outset that I do not like how Adobe does their Search in responsive HTML5 in RH 2017! Frail, finicky, and fraught with difficulty are some words/phrases that come to mind. It almost makes me want to go back to .chm output. At least the searching worked well there (*Sigh*). Okay, venting is hopefully done. Onto my issue... I have the latest RH 2017. I'm building a large merged responsive HTML5 output. We localize our English helps into 16 supported languages. For some reason, when we search on our webserver in our localized German, it doesn't give proper search results. For some words, it just spins forever. For other terms, it says it can't find search results. But the words are clearly in the Help, because we can browse to .htm pages with those terms. And yet for other terms, it does return at least some results. I don't get it. And the odd thing is that when I view the EXACT same set of files locally on my computer's
I am importing a book from Author-it to the RoboHelp. The book is saved in the XML format.I tried to import this XML file to RoboHelp using the importing tool in RoboHelp, but it failed. Below you can find the dialog box that shows the failure. It seems that RoboHelp cannot recognize the elements in this XML file. My knowledge on XML is quite limited. So should I first map the elements in the XML file to some elements that RoboHelp can recognize in order to import the XML file?Any input would be appreciated.
Using Robohelp 2020. I am not sure if using the correct verbage but I want to be able to hover over text or an image and have text show up. For example have a warning caution image then hover over it to see a warning message. I can't figure out how to do this in my project! Thanks so much!
I'm trying to generate an HTML5 output and get this error (Robohelp 2019). Anyone know why this might be? I already tried closing the project and opening it back up.
