Hi RH community, I am a beginner level RH 2020 user and I have been tasked to create a knowledge base for controls - which are basically sql scripts that are used to maintain data integrity. I was successfully able to link source folder and import word files into RH and generate topics in the author pane. Now the question I have is if more controls are added or removed in the linked folder, how can I sync RH and my source folder to show updated topic list without having to delete, link and re-sync the folder again?  Thanks in advance!

When I try to generate a PDF, it never finishes. The little progress window doesn't get past the message 'Transforming into PDF Pages...' I can't stop the generation process by clicking the cancel button in the Output Presets panel either, I have to restart RoboHelp to stop it.Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you solve it?I'm using RoboHelp 2020.3.32. I installed OpenJDK 11 from AdoptOpenJDK and rebooted.

Hi, Everyone. In RH 2019, new UI (frameless), when my end user chooses to filter for the "Employee" role, the DCF properly filters out the topic "Contractor Policy." However, the topic title "Contractor Policy" remains visible in the main TOC (please see screenshot, below).  I'm not having this issue when filtering out any other topics. Only "Contractor Policy" remains visible in the main TOC. I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks! SCREENSHOT:    

Using my Adobe account for my business, I cannot sign in to the community forums. I get an error page:I have signed in using my personal account to post this, but I would much prefer using my business account for the RoboHelp forums.

Hi,I've been converting a large set of projects that have three flavours to them.Two of them have directly competing words, Outlay is used instead of Disbursment, and so on.To correct this, Snippets were used in topics so that the titles would be correct. Variables were used to then change the text so that when you look at a Disbursment topic, you see the word Disbursment by using Conditional Text within the variables.When I changed to 2020, it seems to have stopped working. This topic:Becomes this in output:There isn't even any formatting of a header and footer.I had noticed that the variables had lost a lot of the conditional text when I imported them, but they seem to work ok in normal topics. Is this because of the combination of Snippet with Variables that themselves have conditional text? Or another bug? It worked in Classic with no problems. Thanks,Nicola

I am using Rh Version 2020.3.0 (2020.3.32) and I have had success importing 5 different Word documents (.docx) files using File > Import > Word Document.  When importing my 6th .docx file, I encountered an error with the wording "Document read error; Canno read document.  Make sure that the document is closed." (see attachment).  I tried a different Word Document (my 7th file) and it imported correctly. I ensured the word doc was closed.  still didn't import.I renamed the word doc.  still didn't import.I renamed the word docagain and saved it into a different location on my hard drive.  still didn't import.I copied the text into a new document file, gave it a new name, saved, closed.  still didn't import.I have tried it in 2 different Rh project files.  still didn't import in either one.I rebooted Rh each time I took one of these steps.  I have rebooted my computer 3 times.  still didn't import. Is there something within

I don't see the "translation" tab at the bottom side of the left toolbar. Is this some plugin I should install? Or some project's settings?   

I am using RoboHelp 2017. I have RH topics containing links to PDFs that reside in one of the RH project folders. I can generate the project and open the index. html file in a browser, but when I click on any of the PDF links, the PDFs do not open. My co-worker is able to open the PDFs on her laptop, so I imagine there is some setting I need to change on my laptop. I'm not sure it is is a RH setting, a browser setting, or a Windows setting. Does anyone have any suggestions?

 Mini TOC is not displaying contents. When I publish to SharePoint Online I get the following message when I click a heading in the Mini TOC: The webpage at https://tmobileusa.sharepoint.com/sites/RoboHelpOnline/Shared%20Documents/PIER_2/undefined#rearranging_col might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. This happens with all Mini TOCs in the file that has been upgraded from RH 2015 to RH 2020 as well as a newly created Mini TOC. These display just fine in the Preview.

I have run into this issue before.  I am seeing it again.  Some of my RoboHelp projects are losing topics.  I am using RH 2019 classic, Version 14.0.11.0.  When I searched our online help for a key topic, "Creating Customers," I noticed it was missing.  When I looked at the RH project, I saw that it was no longer in the help project.  I re-imported it.  I saved the project files.  I closed the project.  I deleted the .cpd file.  I re-opened the project.  The topic is gone again.  It's missing from the TOC (shown in this image)... ...and it is no longer in the RH project folder even though I just reimported it before saving and closing RH.I think a forum user recommended in a previous post years ago adding a new topic to the TOC because RH then uses a different process to run through and save TOC files.  I have tried that in the past.  It seems to work for a time, but then I lose topics again.  Is anyone els

We are trying to compile helps for our product dynamically at our build server as part of the build process using the --cl (command line), -o (preset selection) and -l (log file) parameters of RoboHelp.exe.There are 7 different presets being compiled one after another and the process gets jammed in some of them 95% of time. All presets compile without issues using the GUI. What could be wrong? When the jam happens, there is no log file present yet as it seems to be produced after the command has executed (duh...pretty useless log for jams/crashes...). Couldn't find anything from Event Logs either with a quick look. Is there any debugging/verbose flags or such to better find the root cause?Br,Simo ErkinheimoProduct Manager | CUSTOMTOOLS

I am new at using 2019 UI. I have random spaces throughout my copy. I notice in the html at the top of the page that <span> appears in the words that are spaced apart. I'm also finding that many of my bullet lists don't line up. This is happening everywhere. I find myself dealing with issues like this instead of actually getting my work done. On the Author page, RoboHelp has a section that is called "Window Settings". I can find no information about this anywhere, and sadly the words "window" and "settings" are so generic that any search for the term turns up millions of results that have very little to do with that issue. The actual RoboHelp documentation appears to make no mention of the section - or if it does I can't find it and I find that in general the RoboHelp docs are incredibly light on any meanigful information anyway. I also tried contacting support to get information and you can see the rather fun results of that conversation in the image below: SO... Can anyone explain what the Window Settings stuff is actually for? How is it used and applied to outputs, and what outputs is it applied to? Or point me towards somewhere where this is actually documented?  Oh, and honestly, this forum is a life saver as Adobe support is a joke... 😞

I use Robohelp 11, and have set a favicon on the project using a Responsive HTML5 layout:But when I generate the project the favicon is not added to the finished HTML-files so no icon is shown in the browser tabs:If I add the same image to a WebHelp Pro project and generate, the favicon is added to the HTML-files.Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might correct this?

Hi everyone, In RoboHelp 2019 New, I installed fonts such as Montserrat and Ubuntu as part of my company's branding. When moving to RH 2020, PDFs began to generate incorrectly. But nothing had changed in CSS - just the RH version. Text now required more lines, font seemed larger, too. Line spacing was larger. I'm slowly working to reconfigure my styling to reach a point where it resembles the previous style. Now, Montserrat does not get passed into PDF output - but Ubuntu appears to. Fonts are embedded. Can anyone explain why?

Hi All, We are using Adobe Robohelp 2019 classic version and trying to add miniTOC placeholder on the right side of the page. We tried several things, but, the TOC is intact and donot move from the Top of the page. Is it possible in the Robohelp 2019 classic to move minitoc towards right side of the page if we are generating a HTML 5 responsive help. Additionally, while scrolling the page, mini TOC should remain stickey. Any help would be great! 

I've been using RGH2017 for a long time.  I installed RH2020 recently.  I can open my .XPJ in RH2017 but all the topics are missing.  I made a full copy of the entire project in a separate folder before I used RH2020 to protect it when I upgraded.  The topics are missing in that folder as well. When I attempt to view topics from the TOC, all the links are broken. I tried to upgrade my RH2017 project to RH2020.  The conversion process took only 3 seconds.  The new output does not have any topics, just a few images. Nothing has been converted.   I ran the output as responsive HTML5 to see what was generated and all I got were folders.  There was no content.  I can't even work on my project in RH2017 anymore.  And I honestly dread having to rebuild four years of content all over again.  What did I do wrong?

Hi there, I'm using Robohelp 2020.  I managed to export some of my topics into Xliff to send to our translation agency.  Now the translated files are back (still xliff) and I want to import them. 1) I go to the master project > Translations > select the sub-project.  The topics list opens.2) I click on the icon to import xliff.  The file browser opens.3) I want to select the xliff files, but cannot do it as the .xlf format is not listed. (why not?)4) I select the folder where my xliff files are, and then I received the following message: Invalid folder.  Please select a valid language folder.  I'm afraid I don't understand that message.  What does it mean?   What do you mean by language folder?What do I have to do?Thank you for your help.Best regards, 

Hi All, This query in in regards to Adobe Robohelp 2019 (Classic) version. I have been trying to add new layout to Adobe robohelp 2019 (Classic) to generate Responsive help customized as per our company requirements.Below are few queries:1. Can we add new layout to robohelp 2019. I am aware that we can customize the existing robohelp layout i.e. Indigo, Charcoal, and Azure. But, can we create or add new layout exlcuding these layouts?2. Can we download or import new layout or theme to robohelp 2019 (Classic).If we can download and import new layout then, what is the exact process for the same and what kinds of files would be required for the customized layout.Any help would be great! Thanks,Nutan 

Hi, What is an efficient way into the RoboHelp online help. Here's my UNACCEPTABLE workflow: Click Help in robohelp. Land on the sales page for Robohelp with the guide toc down the left. Don't see what I'm looking for. Enter "assign mapID" in the search box at the top of this RoboHelp page. Land on some Adobe page with hits to not RoboHelp and have to search and fail to find the RoboHelp product on the left...what group of products do they put this neccessary evil in?   Jeesh. Pls. Show me the fast way?

If you create dropdown texts one after another, any subsequent dropdown texts will be nested into the previous ones. The only way to avoid this is to add empty lines in the document, and place dropdown texts onto those pre-existing lines.How do you guys work around this? Is this expected behavior or a bug?Suggestion: The dropdown text element could be made clearer in the editor, with a seam separating its contents and any subsequent elements that need to remain separate.

Using RH 2020 is there a way to add page numbers to the generated pdf?Is that what the master page does?  Is there a way to apply my styles to the pdf? Specifically, all images have a line around them on the help pages but not in the pdf.  

Hi Team, Since, i am facing lot of issues with Robohelp 2019 Skins. I just want to swich my current project (roboelp 2019) to robohelp classic 2019. Each and every time whenever i am publishing my project RH skins (topic page) are getting disturbed. Not at all user friendly Robohelp 2019. Kindly give us some solution to use it better. 

Hi everybody and warm wishes for the New Year! I would like to upgrade an existing project from RoboHelp Classic 2019 to RoboHelp 2019 New UI, but I have bumped into some issues related to the layout.I have been using a customized Charcoal Grey skin in RoboHelp Classic 2019 (I customized the skin outside of RoboHelp by changing layout.css and topic.slp), however when I generate the output in RoboHelp 2019 New UI, the layout looks very different (some images which I removed in Classic 2019 are displayed now, the search bar and the print button have disappeared etc.). Is there any smoother way to manage this skin upgrade? At this moment, it seems to me that I have to partially or even completely redo the customization of the skin, but hopefully I am wrong :).Also, where can the topic.slp file be found in RoboHelp 2019 New UI? Or at least something similar to topic.slp, which I can customize? Thanks!
