I am using RH 2020.3.32 on a trial basis. I have created a project and created topics and content. I was generating frameless output using Quick Generate and it was working fine. Now, for some reason (and I may have inadvertently changed something) none of my topics are being published. I have looked online for advice but can't find anything that covers this. I can't see what I am doing wrong if anyine can ppint me in the right direction please? Thanks in advance
RoboHelp 2020.1HTML5 Responsive out with Azure_Blue skinMerged output (1 parent, 11 children)Output resides on an IIS internal web server for access by internal staff (either onsite or VPN) ISSUEIf we add a new topic in a child project, generate new HTML5 Responsive output, and then copy the entire project over to our IIS internal web server, the new topic doesn't show up in search or the index until/unless a user clears their browser cache - via the clear "Cached images and files" option in Chrome or Edge Chromium (depends on which they're using). Once you do that, the new topic will appear in search results and the index. Also note that prior to clearing the cache, the new topic IS available in the table of contents and from any hyperlink in another existing topic; so that's interesting. I don't know much about web servers - I have a request into our IT team who admins the ISS web server on whether HTTP caching might address this issue. While I wait to hear back from them,
The appearance and behaviour of a ToC has changed (somehow) without my making any changes to the Layout or Skin. The ToC that appeared yesterday (see ToC1.png attached) is what I want. On opening, all top-level topics appear in the navigation pane, with the first topic open to reveal the child topics. This morning—without any intervention on my part—no ToC appears on opening (see ToC2.png). I have to click on the ToC button at the left to expose the ToC and then I only get the first topic and its children (see ToC3.png). I have to click on the tp topic to expose all the top-level topics in the entire ToC.I then opened another RH project I hadn't worked on for weeks. It too now displayed this new (user-unfriendly) ToC format despite it behaving as per ToC1.png previously.Something mysterious has gone on. Any ideas?
I am having an issue where my site is prompting for a login like the help site being called anew when a custom Topic Page Button link is clicked. Version: RH 2019 New UI (latest update)I am following Peter Grainge’s rules on merged help and ZoomSearch.Created a new frameless output, and imported help topics from classic UI. I have been able to generate and use the help successfully with HTML5 & Frameless skin. This is a merged help project with child projects in the parent:I generated ZoomSearch files and page in the search_files folder in the parent. The Frameless skin is imported into Parent & Child projects before generating output, so they are all using the same skin.I need search.html to be available from every page in the help (including merged children). On the Frameless skin, I replaced the Topic Page Button for Search to go to the Zoom search page, and this is where I’m running into issues. I cannot define an absolute path. The site is uploaded to 2 domains (tes
RoboHelp 8I am working to reduce the number of topics that we have in our 3000+ project by taking a large number of very small topics and adding the text from them into one large topic with bookmarks. However, as I was working on this yesterday, RoboHelp crashed on me and when I relauched it, everything I was working one was hosed up pretty bad. Here is my process for this compilation:1. Create a new topic.2. Cut and paste the individual text from each of the small topics into the new large topic.3. Create a bookmark for each of the items in the new large topic.4. Delete the small topic files.5. Reset all of the broken links to the new bookmarks in the new large topic file.I was just about done with Step 4 when RoboHelp shut down on me without warning. Now about half of the deleted small topics reappeared and the other half are deleted, but are appearing in the Topic List with a red X by them and I can't get them to go away.I attempted to roll back to before the crash, but that didn't r
Hello,When using a deployed frameless build, I notice that when trying to use the search function multiple times, the search box disappears. Is there a way to fix this?
My management may not renew my RoboHelp license. They do support InDesign and Dreamweaver. Is there a way to transition my RoboHelp projects to either of those products? If so, how difficult or time consuming is it?
In RH's Skin-Layout tab is ‘Custom Buttons’. They show the first custom button as Expand/Collapse with a script is in place in the OnClick field; yet in my output nothing happens when you click this button. The only other open field on the tab is ‘Link’; do I need to fill in that field to get the button to work or is there some step I am missing? Is this a known bug they are working on? I did Help-Update and it said my progam was fully up to date. Image attached.
I'm using RH 2020.2.29 on a Win10 machine. This is truly puzzling. I have a topic, Manage Self Service, that is not showing up correctly in published output. I've generated and published multiple times, and RH doesn't seem to be recognizing content-level changes I've made. The topic appears correctly in the Output pane, and should look like this in both the Mobile and Fusion outputs: It instead looks like this in Mobile output: And like this in Fusion output: These are both valid PAST iterations of this topic, but not its current state. This topic is conditionally included in both Fusion and Mobile outputs with a topic-level conditional tag of Mobile_Fusion, but there is no conditional text at the content level that would explain this behavior. I have tried changing the conditional text tag at the topic level to remove it from both outputs, and when I regenerated, the topic was gone as intended. I changed the tag again, generated, and it reappea
The the frameless studio skin of rh 2020, the default font is all caps. So all button labels, tile titles, main title appears LIKE THIS. Is there a way to turn it off all caps and move switch to regular sentence case.
Hello,The frameless output does not function correctly in terms of clicking on TOC topics or really anything else. It works fine for both Chrome and Firefox. Is there anyway to change the output to work for IE or Edge?
Using Robohelp version 2020.3.32Is there a way to ensure that an image and its caption stay together on the same page when generating PDF output? I am looking for something that has the same effect as teh MS Word "Keep with Next" paragraph style. I have tried placing the caption above the image and below. I have tried adding break-after: avoid; and break-before: avoid; (at different times) to an img style in the CSS. I have tried those styles in-line on the caption as well as the image. From my topic:<figure><figcaption><span data-condition="Output:Manual" >Create Cure Batch screen</span></figcaption><img alt="Create Cure Batch screen" data-condition="Output:Manual" height="423" src="../../../assets/images/Operations/CreateCureBatch.png" width="752" /></figure> From my CSS:img {break-before: avoid;}
Hi,While reading up on mp4 videos related issues in this forum, I came across 2 ways in which these can be imported into a RoboHelp project. Since Flash support will no longer be available, can one look at having mp4 videos playing from the WebHelp? What should one consider while opting for any of the 2 ways?1. Import using Insert>Multimedia option. 2. Import as a baggage fileI tried both these options and I can't seem to spot any major differences in the videos when viewed in the WebHelp. The only difference that I see is in the project folder and RoboHelp file. For option 1, I see an mp4 file along with the HTML topic (where this object has been inserted). In the project folder, both the mp4 and HTML files can be seen. For option 2, along with the baggage file we get an mp4 file after saving the RoboHelp file. In the project folder, I only get to see the mp4 file.
We have an eLearning module and its related scorm files. The elearning module works independently on its own in Chrome browser or any other browser.we are trying to integrate it within RH2020 output where the user can click and it opens the html file and plays the eLearning module. Is it possible?I tried by copying the elearning module folder in the contents and linked the index_scorm.html file. However, the contents dont show up instead the filename shows up.Any pointers?
I am trying to generate a user manual and training materials for a project. Need to generate pdf/paper output for hands on training. Company policy requires a background image and logo on the cover page. I have figured out the necessary styling to add the background image and see it in RH. I don't think I have any issues with the CSS as I can manually create an html file that displays the background image. But when I generate the PDF output, the background disappears. Since it is a dark background and the accomanying company logo is white, the logo is now a polar bear in a snow storm with the background missing.Any suggestions would be welcome.
I created a project in RH 2019, imported my FM files, generated the output, all good, but I just made a change in the original FM file that was imported, should I now just do what I originally did, File-Import-FM to update the files in my RH project? The imported FM book simply replaces the existing content, or should i be doing this in some other way?
I have a master page set up from robohelp. As you can see below there are extra blank paragraphs before the main header can be entered:I'm not sure how to get rid of this. I've tried to remove <p>and </br> from html and it just creates more blank spaces.. Could anyone help me how to do this? Thank you! Steve
Using RoboHelp 2020 and files linked from a FrameMaker 2020 book, the index entries in RoboHelp have percent signs (%) where there are spaces. For example, an index marker in FrameMaker is "Zoom in" without the quotes, which displays in RoboHelp as "Zoom%20in" without the quotes. The %20 also displays in the output. Also, an index marker of "Enlarge: Increase size" truncates to "Enlarge" in RoboHelp.FrameMaker version is 16.0.1.817. RoboHelp version is 2020.2.29. They should be current. Is there a way to fix these issues?I will post if I get a fix from Adobe.
I recently upgraded from RH 2015 to RH 2020 and was really taken aback by the UI changes. While I'm adjusting to some of it, I'm bewildered by other things. For example, I cannot find a way to simply format a paragraph inline. Did the "Paragraph" dialog box just go away, or am I missing something? It appears that the only way to format paragraphs is via the Properties panel, which is clunky and missing options (such as setting values for numbered lists or changing paragraph spacing). Does RH 2020 expect me to create individual styles for every kind of paragraph I need? I tried to add a new style to the style sheet but it doesn't even appear in the Styles list (in any category). Help!!!Frustrated in Charlotte
We have published Update 3 for the latest release of RoboHelp. Here are more details about this update: https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/fixed-issues.html. If you have to update multiple machines you can download the installer from Adobe - Support : RoboHelp Support Center : Service Releases. You only need to apply the latest update as that includes all previous updates. Also note that if you are using the initial release shown as 2020.0 when you click Help, you cannot apply the update from within RoboHelp. Download the latest version from the Service Releases link above.
Hi, I wanted to know if Robohelp 14 supports spliting the Masterpage into columns, like having a vertical side bar along with the main body content.Kindly repsond, much needed help. Thanks and Regards,Kavya Sharma
I have two projects built in Robohelp 2019 (not Classic) that I've converted to 2020 to fix the iOS output issue. The helps work as expected, with one important exception - previously, the redirect would parse the starting page as belonging to the correct subfolder, and now when I enter the help URL (i.e. www.site.com/help/this-product/) it looks in the top folder (www.site.com/help/Welcome.htm) instead of the subfolder it resides in (www.site.com/help/this-product/Welcome.htm). Is this a simple fix or do I need to make a change to a script somewhere?
Posting this information in case it helps someone else. When moving up from a previous version of RoboHelp and using FrameMaker files, the following works to use your .css file to apply your formats. Your .css file needs to be sitting in the contents > assets folders.First, search and replace in your .css file so that the format of a tag is p.bullet or p.heading1 for example. Mine differed, so search and replace fixed the formats.Set the Project Settings and each file to use the .css file. (Not sure what Project Settings does here. It seemed to do nothing.) Setting each file to use the .css file fixes the display in RoboHelp. (I had to redo this for each file after updating the book/files.)Set the Master Page to use the .css file. As another post noted, the Master Page overrides everything else. Setting the Master Page fixes the display in the output.Based on my initial experience, this is what has worked so far.
I'm working with RH 2020. In my project I have screens with thumbnails. When I generate output Frameless with Studio skin my images have double icon to open image in popup. The secound problem is when I open image in popup - there is double popup window, I must double click to closing icon to close popup. Have you ever meet with this issue? How can I fix it?
Hi everyone, I know there have been a lot of posts in the last couple of years regarding RoboHelp 2019 and SharePoint Online. I have read them several times and am starting a new thread because I believe I am at a lower level than all of you and need help with some very basic questions.1. Back in a 2018 posting Peter made a comment that, at that time, SharePoint Online was only for collaboration. Publication was via SharePoint using RoboHelp 2019 classic. I believe I read somewhere / was told by Adobe support this is no longer true - that you can publish to SharePoint Online with the correct version of RoboHelp 2019. We are on RoboHelp 2019.0.10. Can someone tell me if our version will let us publish to SharePoint online? Note that I cannot using the RoboHelp Update feature determine the latest version. It has been disabled on my machine.2.
