I do not have the microcontent option. I just updated to RoboHelp 2019.0.14. I ceated a new project and still do not have the microcontent option. Do I need to do something to get the microcontent option?
Following on from my post yesterday about snippets not upgrading properly, Peter was able to point me to creating an existing list, then inserting the snippet. This works wonderfully if the snippet is not number 1 in the list. However, in this scenario, I'm getting doubled up number 1. So, step 1 has number 1 and 2 sitting on top of each other , and then further down the list, I'm getting double ups for the next snippet. The general idea is:<ol><li>snippet 1- which contains steps 1-4</li><li>snippet 2 - which contains steps 5-8</li></ol> Snippet 1 is likely to always be steps 1-4However, snippet 2 might start at another number in another topic if that helps any. The snippets only have <li> tags in them - no <OL>s as I assume that will come from the topic. Is there something I can do to get this to work?
I am using Robohelp 2019 and am wondering if there is a default setting for Books in the TOC to automatically be opened when the manual is opened. Meaning that all the sub topics are displayed rather than the user needing to click the + to view them. Just curious.
I want to have a header with a linear gradient background with some text on the left and an image on the right. All of this works OK if applied on each topic individually. At some point I decided to use masterpages to store the header, since it should show up on each topic/page.It turned out that the gradient background disappears on Microsoft HTML Help (.chm) output if it's sourced from the masterpage. Responsive HTML5 output doesn't have that problem. Also when I replace gradient with solid color the background is again visible on .chm.Is there any trick that could fix this? Has anyone had a similar problem?
We're using Robohelp 2019 Classic and we have a lot of content that overlaps with other Word documents outside of Robohelp. This content also appears in various topics within our Robohelp project. Is it possible to link a Word document and use that content in snippets and variables so that that we can make changes to the source Word document and have it propagate throughout our Robohelp project?
Hi, I am currently working on a Robohelp file where I have to create a hyperlink in the topic to an MS word document. Can anyone please help. Thanks, Arunkumar
Hi all,I have a problem with the PDF output. I am using RH2020.1.54. In a file, I have a header h1 saying "100% gestapelte Balken". Apparently, the %-character causes that the PDF generation fails. Everything works fine and then the process stops at "Transforming into PDF pages" and does not come to an end. The output of this same file has worked without problems in previous RH2019 versions (new UI). Also, the output to HTML5 does work without any problems.I tried to write the % in the source code as &#37;, but Robohelp changes this code back to % when I switch between source view and editor. Is this a bug? Or is it no longer possible to use such characters in headers? To make things clear, I am not using any special characters in the file name or anything like this, its only an <h1>-tag. Any ideas are welcome! Thanks, Karin
Hello,Using 2019 Classic. On Responsive or Multiscreen output settings, SharePoint tab, if I attempt to choose (Browse) the SharePoint location, RH crashes. Anyone know how to fix/prevent crash? thanks very much!
I passed an RH 2019 Classic HTML project on to another writer, who edited it recently in the latest RH 2019. When she generated the CHM file, the TOC showed file names, including underscores, instead of topic titles for all but a few topics. Why would this happen?
I have a 2017 version RoboHelp project that uses a master page and css style sheet. When I first developed the project (about 9 years ago), the master page I used for topics had a yellow background colour (#ffffe5) and included an image in the page heading. I changed this to white (#ffffff) and removed the image about 5 years ago. So when editing topics in RoboHelp, I have the topics created prior to me amending the master page with a yellow background colour and the image, with the newer topics having a white background and no image. This doesn’t bother me, as when I publish to Responsive HTML5 in version 2017, I select the master page to be applied to all topics and it has applied the updated master page properties, generating all topics with a white background and no image. I upgraded my project to version 2020 and have found that when I generate the output, the system is not applying the current master file across all topics, even though I have specified this in the output opt
I can't change the number value in the numbered list. After typing the needed number in the Restart numbering at, the needed number isn't changed.
I am creating a master page for PDF files. I want the header to display the manual name, and the footer to display the current chapter and page number. I notice there is a Chapter Title but I'm not sure how a "chapter" is defined. My documentation was originally done in InDesign, then converted to Word to bring into RoboHelp. My chapters ended up as a paragraph style called p.ChapTitle. But it's looking like there might not be a way to use this style as a placeholder. Is there a way around it so that I can use this style? Or is there another way to designate a chapter heading somewhere?
RoboHelp 2020.1 In RoboHelp 2019.14 (new), the variables panel displayed each variable's value; this made it very easy to see and select the variable you wanted to insert in a topic. In RoboHelp 2020.1, the panel only displays empty brackets and the variable Name (not its value). You can right-click a variable and select Preview (or Edit) to see the value, but this is an extra step, and it's compounded if you don't select the variable you're looking for the first time - then you have to right-click/preview multiple variables to find the one you need. Is this design intentional (and thus I need to log an enhancement request) or is it a defect (and thus I need to log a bug)?
Every time i try to import a word doc into my robohelp project it crashes and says robohelp has ran into a problem and restart the application.
Hi, Peter, I'm trying to import .docx menu document and generate a help menu based on the .docx. The import process: I chose the following:Convert references to hperlinksConvert table of contentsConvert index Then used webhelp to CHM to generate CHM file.Although it has the table of contents and hypger link, the index and search function don't work. Would you please help me out ? Thanks, Lily
I have several subkeywords in my index. The subkeywords are displaying indented as expected in the Online help, but in the PDF they are shown at the same level. It appears that the keywords use the p.book-idx-keyword style in the book.css style sheet, but I am a little uncertain how to modify that style to indent subkeywords. Can anyone point me to a source?
I had been using WebHelp output for a long time but need to go to Responsive HTML5 now and am trying to give us a look and feel matching company guidelines. Colors have been done, images placed in header, etc., but when I generate output, the first time I look at my output on my local machine, the first page has a vertical toolbar that works, i.e., takes up two thirds of the column and can be dragged up and down to see the entire page but as soon as I change topics, the scrollbar fills the entire length of the space, regardless of whether the topic content is smaller than the window or larger and even using the up/down arrows, the content does not scroll in the window. Then when I go back to the first page, the scrollbar fills the entire length of the space and doesn't work as it should. Per an old post solved by Peter Grange, I found this in layout.css in a layout I had created as a copy of Desktop with Homepage. body { font-family: MetricHPE, Arial, sans-serif; margin: 0; pad
Hi Team,In the initial phase, i have acquired RoboHelp 2019 for Individual Contribution Role. After a year, the documentation requirement has risen up. Now, we require 3 authors' contributions to the same project. Now we need your guidance. Those requirements are:1. How to Setup? (what all require)2. Is there anything we have to purchase add-on? etc.,
Using the Dark frameless skin, I have a problem where words are broken up like this in the topic navigation. If it were a standard topic I'd just shorten the headers rather than fuss, but this is a Troubleshooting page so it's tough to go much shorter without losing the reader. Is there a fix for this?
Where in the RoboHelp file system (or registry) are the profile connections (in my case, Git) you (RoboHelp project users/authors) create/configure stored? I had a bunch created (and active) and one day they just all disappeared (none of them were listed in the Collaborate menu). Very odd. Also of note, the list of recent projects that RoboHelp displays when you open RoboHelp was wiped clean - there were no recent projects listed. All the projects still exist on my local machine, as do the corresponding remote repos. As a result, I need to recreate every (in this case, 8 profile connections). Note: update 14 has been installed/running since its release. Thoughts?
I'm new to Robohelp. I have created a sample project and now I am trying to display it from a c# .net application. I'm having trouble determining what I need in my program to interact with the robohelp project, a demo or a manual would be helpful.
Upon Opening RH2019 Reimagined (NEW) / GIT- all connection profiles are gone. This is a frequent occurance among all of our team members. We have not been able to determine a pattern for this behavior. Does anyone know what might be causing this to happen? Time consuming to have to re-create so often as we use several different ones during the day.
New RoboHelp 2020 user. Successfully setup and tested machine translation for Spanish and Portuguese, slick. The translation produced sub projects for Spanish and Portuguese. Satisfied with the translation setup, I turned back to the English main project and made some changes (.css, added image assets, etc.). The sub projects were now "Out of Sync" so reran the translations to sync things up. The result was the sub project status indicated they are in sync, BUT the .css changes and new image assets are not present in either the sub projects. This is a problem for on-going maintenance. I'm hoping somebody can help. I've scoured the help resources to find the answer to what I think would be an obvious step-by-step for "updating a parent translation project". Primarily, it would be nice to know the following: How to ensure .css remains the same among the main and sub projects? How to ensure newly added images to the main project are displayed in sub projects? Confirming: Is
