Hello,I am using RH2017/Responsive HTML5/Indigo screen layout. I am using Conditional Text to generate 2 separate Help systems (for 2 different websites w/ many similar features). I'd like to give each Help system its own color styling, so I thought I could do this by creating 2 different Indigo screen layouts w/ diff colors defined. However - when I created the 2nd Responsive Screen Layout for Indigo, I noticed the following things:"Home (Custom icons)" is MISSING from the list of Layout Properties. This is ESSENTIAL for me to use.The Print (topic) icon is appears in the PREVIEW, but DOES NOT appear in my original Indigo layout.I have already added to a discussion re: Adding a Print Button into this Screen Layout. Responsive HTML5 - Custom Buttons or LinksCan someone help me out?Thank you!!--Tabby W.
I just started using RoboHelp. We have a lot of existing Word documents that we thought we could import. When the Word Import Settings pop up opens the drop down list for you to pick the Word style for creating a new topic is empty.
We would like to use our on premise SharePoint as a version control source repository for the project and publish the responsive HTML5 to an externally facing SharePoint site. Does Robohelp 2019 support on premise SharePoint for version control or publishing? If so How do we do this?
I am using RoboHelp 2019 Classic with SharePoint for source control. Everything was working fine on Friday, 4/12/2019, and has been since we upgraded to 2019 about five months ago. This morning, when I first attempt to log into RoboHelp and click the Test Connection button, I now get the following message:My Internet is working. If I navigate to the specified folder, I get the listing of RoboHelp project files. If I return to RoboHelp with that folder open and click the Test Connection button, I now get the message that the test connection succeeded. If I try to proceed, however, even though I got the message that the test connection succeeded, I now get this message:… or this message: I have tried deleting the .cpd file for the project I was trying to access. No change.I tried opening a different RoboHelp project from SharePoint. Same result as above.Thoughts? Thanks!
I have RoboHelp 2017, version 13.0.2.334.Someone was reviewing my project online on his new iPad Pro with keyboard. He found that when using the Search feature, it would allow him to use the keyboard to type the Search criteria; however, he could not invoke the search with the Enter key (or any other key). Searching works correctly when using the built-in electronic keyboard. I reached out to Willam van Weelden separately about this issue, and thought I would add this to the community forum in case anyone has experienced this issue. Is there any way to resolve this issue so that users may search for topics using an iPad Pro keyboard? Appreciate your feedback.
I'm a lone tech writer, and I work with a small team of developers. I don't have much experience in creating the CHM files & integrating it into the software. I've inherited this project as well.We produce a suite of software programs, most of which are Android tablet based. The Android app help files are HTML5, and those work fine on the various tablets. There's no issue with the HTML5 help. The administrator of our suite uses a Windows-based software. The admin program has its own .CHM file, and the context-sensitivity works perfectly. That much I can figure out on my own. I would like to add the content of the Android tablet help files as separate CHM files within the Windows program. This way, the admin can read the same help as the users in the field without having to open multiple programs or have multiple devices. I thought it would be as easy as batch generating the Android app help as both HTML5 and CHM.When my developer linked the second CHM file to the Windows app, the re
Can't seem to center a table. Alignment is centered:I could not find any definitions for "Position," "Display," or "Column Span" in the User Guide, so I have no idea what the settings should be if any. I have "Position" as "inherit" since it is within a paragraph that has the centered alignment, which I thought it would inherit. Help!
I am using RoboHelp 2019 version 2019.0.6. I am outputting to Responsive HTML5.Is it possible to create hover tool tips in RoboHelp that access the same file as the static tool tips? I have presently created two separate outputs; One points to outputs and is the full Help System and the other points to a TToutputs folder containing all of the actual static tool tips. An example of a tool tips topic is displayed below. I am using a stripped down topic for tool tips and then clicking from there to a full help system file with Master Page, headers, footers, default CSS, TOC, index, etc. Then I click the back arrow of browser (i.e. Chrome in this case) to navigate back to the tool tip. Amebr said in a previous tool tip question when I originally set my system up. She said, "Where exactly are you trying to use the tooltip? Can you describe what you are trying to do, or post a screenshot or mockup? I have another idea, but it depends a bit on what you're trying to do." I did not have the req
I have only been able to find documentation relating to RH 2017 as WCAG compliant. The little related searches i have come across to RH 2015 specifically is about HTML5 output. i have also requested a compliance document from Adobe but i dont know how great they are with those types of requests.
I am using RoboHelp Classic 2019 to generate Responsive HTML5 output. I have a master project with 2 merged subprojects. I have map numbers defined in the master project and each of the subprojects. For example:Master: #define Topic_A 10Subproject 1: #define Topic_B 110Subproject 2: #define Topic_C 210I have the following calls in an HTML page to test opening the links:<a href="http://localhost/Folder/index.htm?rhmapno=10">Link to Topic A</a><a href="http://localhost/Folder/index.htm?rhmapno=110">Link to Topic B</a><a href="http://localhost/Folder/index.htm?rhmapno=210">Link to Topic C</a>However, only the link to Subproject 1 is opens the appropriate topic. The other links open the master project index.htm start page.I have not renamed BSSCDefault.h in any of the files (though I tried that). I have checked that the csh.js file in master and each subproject shows the appropriate
Here's my setup: RoboHelp 11 Primary layout is Responsive HTML5 Local copy of RoboHelp on my computerFiles stored on network. This setup is working perfect -- except for one small thing: any new images do not move into the Responsive_HTML5 folder. Instead, the new images copy into the main help folder. We have been manually copying one or two new jpgs into that Responsive_HTML5 folder, but that's not a good solution for the long term. For example:they copy to: Main Helpbut should move to: Main Help > SSL > Responsive HTMLAny suggestions?
I read that RoboHelp 2019's Indigo layout is 508 compliant. So I'm using this template to create an online help. After I compile my help, how do I test it out to verify that it is 508 compliant? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I'm using RoboHelp 2019 and I used Indigo template to compile my help. I do not see the Contents option in the menu. See the following screen. Am I doing something wrong? How can I see the TOC where I can browse for topics? Please help,
Can I use toggle.js (script created by Peter Grainge) to show/hide all drop-down text in a topic in a Responsive HTML5 output? I am modifying the Azure Blue layout, but don't see any way to add a custom button. Is there another way to do this in Responsive HTML5?
sorry, it's me again. Now another problem occured, which possibly corresponds to the other one from yesterday.I tried to generate a table of contents (german: Inhaltsverzeichnis). From older Robohelp Versions I'm used to get a Table of contens, which is automatically generated from the dokument structure/headline hierarchy (with books and pages).RoboHelp 2019 doesn't find/use the headlines for generatic the TOC.At most it uses "Lesezeichen" (bookmarks) if I choose this option, but these are useless for me, they have no meaning and I dont know where they come from in my word document. Is this maybe a global setting, which I didn't find yet?Do you have any hints for me?
Hi, I need help with setting up breadcrumbs for online help for another product. In this case, we are working directly with the html files in an existing project that has been upgraded from RoboHelp 2015 to RoboHelp 2019 and for the most part looks great and works okay, but I have questions on how to get breadcrumbs set up. I would like to have breadcrumbs on all topics. This is what I've set up that hasn't quite worked yet.I created a Master Page that is Type = Breadcrumbs.I selected all the topics and applied the Master Page to all of them:That didn't get me what I wanted, and I read this: RoboHelp 2019 - Miscellaneous and added the Div Style:This is the result. On the Home page, breadcrumbs look right, but have 2 issues. The Home link it creates doesn't take me back to this page as expectedThe breadcrumbs are not showing up on any of the other topicsWhen I click Home, I see the generic info for the Master Page:My next question is about the project image:
I've created several TOC pages that link to remote URLs. I need these remote pages to open within the topic frame of the online help so the TOC is still available. After specifying the remote URL to which the TOC entry should point, I clicked the Advanced tab and selected Same Frame. According to the RH2017 online help, selecting this option "Opens the topic in the same frame as the current topic." However, when I generate the project and click the TOC entries for these pages, the remote URLs open in a new browser tab/window instead of opening within the topic frame. Additionally, the HTML code for the <a href> in the TOC entry does not specify a target. Is this is a bug (I recall being able to have remote URLs open within the help topic window previously), or is there something I'm overlooking in this process?
Hi!Basically the title says it all.I have the Technical Communication Suite 3 installed on my system.Fronm this bundle the only program which I now would like to upgrade is RoboHelp 9.I got the upgrade files and a license key for RoboHelp 10, but if I try to upgrade I get the message that I am not allowed to upgrade because "no qualifying product was found on the computer".Has anyone an idea what I could do?Thank you!BestsLu
Annnnd yet another problem with 2019 (the new version, not the classic).I've just tried importing a project to see if variables are correctly imported (they are on the two projects I tried), and discovered that RH is now not importing conditional tagged text correctly.So, in Classic, the code is:<li class="list-ordered">Select<?rh-cbt_start condition="Intranet_Only" ?> <?rh-cbt_end ?><?rh-cbt_start condition="Intranet_Only" ?><span style="font-weight: bold;">Tools</span><?rh-cbt_end ?><?rh-cbt_start condition="Intranet_Only" ?>: <?rh-cbt_end ?><?rh-cbt_start condition="Intranet_Only" ?><span style="font-weight: bold;">Clause Organiser...</span><?rh-cbt_end ?><?rh-cbt_start condition="Hidden, Hide" ?>not <?rh-cbt_end ?><?rh-cbt_start condition="Desktop_Only" ?><span style="font-weight: bold;">Admin</span><?rh-cbt_end ?><?rh-cbt_start conditio
I'm using RoboHelp HTML, version 8. I am able to Spell Check All Topics and Spell Check Project, but the Spell Check function is not working.I have the topic open in Design view and I can see a misspelled word. I have tried the following:Press F7 to spell checkSelect Tools>Spell CheckHighlighted the affected word and tried both of the above.Turned off "Check Spelling as you type" (Spelling Options) and tried spell checking again. In all of the above scenarios, a dialog box appears very briefly (less than half a second), and then is replaced with a message "The spelling check is complete". Apparently not, because it hasn't picked up the incorrect word.Any suggestions? Thanks.
While I started reading for "Customizable HTML5 Indigo Layout" to see if it is 508 compliant, I noticed this term, "chrome-less" (indicated in red below). I'm copying text from the Adobe RoboHelp Online Help:"Customizable HTML5 Indigo layoutPresent a visually rich content to your audience by using the chrome-less HTML5 Indigo layout. The Indigo layout is built in accordance with the latest web design trends and combine a striking look with unmatched functionality. It is a 508 compliant layout designed to create content for users with special needs and also offer superior search and intuitive navigation experience."-----------------Does this mean, 508 compliance will be unavailable on Chrome browser? I wanted to confirm before I tell this to my stakeholders.
I have got problems when I import equations from Framemaker into Robohelp. Fraction bars are drawn too long. As the parts following the fraction are not shifted according to the length of the fraction bar, the bar is drawn over other parts like plus signs, equality signs, and other fraction bars. Frequently all fraction bars of an equation look like one long horizontal line drawn through the whole equation not caring about signs written there. I am working with Framemaker 17 and Robohelp 17 on Windows 10, version 1803. I have been searching a lot of Google pages for several weeks in order to find anything about this but I have found nothing.Another problem is that equations sometimes appear as empty images. This problem can be solved by enlarging the space of the equation's frame. But I don't think that is the best solution. All these errors appear in the linked image files of the HTML output. If I save a Framemaker document directly into an HTML file, these problems dont't occur. The
I installed RoboHelp 2019 today on my new laptop, and was unable to read the text. Support told me that RoboHelp does not support 4K displays, and they could not get it to work properly until I used an older monitor. I can view it now, but disappointed that I will not be able to move around and work without a monitor. I was surprised they don't expect to have an update until next year most likely... but at least I can print and create PDF files again, and as my mac is dying, I really needed to move onto the laptop (which didn't support RH 2011). Anyway, just my two cents...Have a great day!
Hello.I have converted a RoboHelp Classic 2017 help system to RoboHelp Classic 2019, and then to RoboHelp 2019. The output format is WebHelp.I am not able to find how to set the default browser window size that appears when a user opens the help. Currently, the converted WebHelp is using the dimensions that were set in the prior RoboHelp Classic projects. How can I prevent this ? The window is very small and the skin banner overlaps the help content... It also overlaps the Help title. In addition, a manual resize of the browser window does not stick. Quite frustrating for a user! Surely there must be a setting somewhere that I can set or override (as it appears to be using the prior dimensions). Thank you for any light you can shed on this dilemma.CheersJane
Can we add a DRAFT watermark similar to what we have in MS word in maybe the master page? or any other way?We want to release a draft version of the Responsive HTML5 output. The Draft should appear on all pages of the help. Is it possible?
