I have created a new RoboHelp file, and working on adding the copyright with the year and the company's name to the footer. I used the "insert special character" in the top toolbar to add the copyright symbol. When I go to generate it with the Microsoft HTML Help output, it acts like there's multiple spaces and gives the question mark symbol.
Hi All, Everytime I need to generate this particular document, it always stuck in this process (1) for more than 20 minutes. I tried restarting, regenerate, it always stucks. PS:1) This only happens with one document.2) My coworker generate sucessfully this one document using different adobe.3) Other documents are generated sucessfully. I'm using this version of robohelp
For the Publish function in Framemaker, I can't find a way to change the name of index.html as I know it from Robohelp Classic. Does anyone know if and how I can set this setting via the Settings.sts file?Alternative: I found an instruction for a subsequent change in another post. This could be an alternative way. However, it could not be applied to the HTML5 output of the publish function. It was for Robohelp output.Who knows a way?
Hello, community. I’m upgrading from RH2019 Classic to RH2022.3.93.I’m configuring six child projects merged into one parent.Using Frameless output with Studio template.Generally links between child projects are working fine. I want to link from the TOC of one child to a topic in another child (relative link?) - - or redirect from a blank topic. I’ve reviewed what I can find in the RH community and grainge.org, but perhaps have missed the correct info and have a few questions. Some of the answers I’ve seen are not for Frameless or are for previous versions of RH (also, I’m not sure if what I want to do is possible with Frameless.) What I’ve seen so far is either: <meta HTTP-EQUIV=refresh CONTENT="0;URL=First_Topic.htm"> but that hasn’t not worked yet. Is this the correct syntax? startpage.htm#mergedProjects/path/target_topic.htm remove rhpj and contents from the link path Insights or solutions are appreciated. Thanks!

Hello everybody!I'm here again because I need your suggestions! I try to create a connection on sharepoint on line to collaborate with other collegues on the same RH project.I have a RH 2022.3.93 and I follow these step (which I find on RH user manual)configured a new connection profilethen I wanted to add a new RH project in a folder of a documentation library of my sharepoint online, so I open the RH project, I want to add in sharepoint, and click on Collaborate > Add project and select my SharePoint Online connection profilebut when I click on my Online connection profile I can't see the folder created in the SP site, so the check in dialog box doesn't open and the following window appears Could you please help me to understand what I do wrong? I just upgraded to RoboHelp 8 for Word (Office 2007, XP Pro) and continue to have this problem after compiling a project (Microsoft HTML) and clicking on view. One suggestion was to change the path closer to the root directory. I changed the output path the C:\ (can't get any closer than that!) and that didn't help. I searched the forum for a definitive fix but haven't found one yet. The file opens fine using explorer but it's obviously a pain-in-the-butt to have to always do that. Thanks.
Hello, I am using RoboHelp 2020.8.34. When I try to generate a PDF, I can't seem to get the body text to stop running into/overlapping the header. On the master page, I've tried adding blank lines between the header and body text, adjusting the page margins, and putting the body text and header in tables and adding space around the tables. None of these solutions have worked. The first few problem pages I run into look exactly the same as if I'd done nothing. Any suggestions on what else I can try?
Hi,We are using RH2022, converting up from RH2015. We have approx 33 merged projects, and we have followed the parent-child merged project set-up as outlined by Peter Grainge very carefully. So far, so good. However, when we generate the help using azure blue and responsive HTML, our TOC appears as in Screenshot 2 below. It is what I think is the "drill down" TOC. The folder at the top in the orange circle must be clicked on in order to see the other merged projects. When another merged project is clicked on, the user again will only see the topics for that project.Screenshot 1 is the generated TOC from RH2015. Each project--Archiving, Audit Reports, Batch Benefits, etc., is a merged project. When you click on one of these merged projects, as I have done with "Benefits," you see the topics associated with Benefits, but you also continue to see all the other available merged projects.Screenshot 1 is what we want for our help in RH2022 using azure blue and responsive HT
I'm having trouble figuring out how to use snippets the way I want to, and I haven't been able to locate any help on the matter. Here's what I'm trying to do: Documenting two features that are 90% identical:1. Create a snippet.2. Create two condition tags, called FEATURE1 and FEATURE2.3. Apply the condtional tags as required to the content of the snippet.4. Place the snippet into topic called FEATURE1_TOPIC.3. Place the snippet into another topic called FEATURE2_TOPIC. I want only condition FEATURE1 to appear in topic FEATURE1_TOPIC, and only condition FEATURE2 to appear in FEATURE2_TOPIC. But I cannot figure out how to tell the snippet, "Only display FEATURE1 conditonal," or, "Only display FEATURE2 conditional." Same problem with variables. If I were to attempt to use variables instead of conditions, I don't see how I could set the value of the variable at the snippet insert level. In RoboHelp parlance, I believe what I'm wanting to do is to apply a "cond
Apologies if this question has already been posted; I could not find it. We recently upgraded from RH2015 to RH2022. We used Webhelp in RH2015 and are now using Responsive HTML5 in RH2022. In our merged help, we have 33 child projects, each with dozens (or hundreds) of topics. Some of these topics have links to topics that live in other child projects. For example, Membership and References are each child projects. A topic in Membership may contain a link to a topic in References. (In our case, we have hundreds of these links scattered throughout our 33 projects. Our help has been in existence for over 20 years.)Since upgrading to RH2022, all of these links are broken. I have seen references, including on Peter Grainge's site, that "...in the new UI versions of RoboHelp, cross project links are not supported." I may be in denial, because it would be disastrous for us if we had hundreds of broken links scattered throughout our help files, but I'm hopi
After a recent upgrade to RH2022 and upgrading our HTML help to Frameless we are no longer able to open help topics to the correct location using context sensitive help.Originally, users would be directed to the correct section of a topic when opening with CSH. However, with the move to frameless it now simply opens the topic without navigating to the correct section within the topic. Users are able to navigate to the correct section using the ToC, and manually entering the URL works as well.
Does anyone know how to improve performance of the search results using a frameless ouput? The Studio output was used as our starting point. The help is fast locally; however, it takes around 60 seconds for the search results to return when hosted on the Cloud or on our System Test Environments. If the user does not close or refresh the help window and then performs a second search the help is very fast. However, if the help window is refreshed or closed and re-opened, then again the first search takes around 60 seconds. A slightly smaller online help takes around 30 seconds. We have tried different settings based on what I saw in RoboHelp documentation, but nothing has made any difference. I also entered a feature request months ago because there is no spinning search icon to let the user know the search is initiated. Has anyone figured out how to add the spinning search icon with a script that runs as part of the RoboHelp ski
Robohelp 2022.4.179, Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Using an existing Output Preset, or creating a new one, the Style Mapping table does not contain any styles from the .css used by the documents in the Table of Contents, nor any styles from the Word Tempate. I managed at one point yesterday to get it to populate correctly, but haven't been able to duplicate whatever steps I went through to get it to work. Any ideas about what's going wrong?
Hi,In the .lng file there is a section "pdf" with translated terms for a pdf layout. It contains for example "Index", "Glossary" etc. But when I create a PDF layout these translated terms are not used, but the English ones instead. When I open the glossary .plt file in the template I can see the English terms:<div data-region="header"><p class="glo-header">Glossary</p></div><div data-region="content"><h1 class="glo-title">Glossary</h1></div>I was wondering what I have to do, that these terms are replaced with the translations from the .lng file during generation of the PDF.BTW for the Responsive HTML output the translated labels of the lng file are used automatically.
I am currently experiencing an issue with Adobe Robo Help where the project published with the frameless layout is only showing partial content. Despite my efforts to resolve this, the problem persists. Here are some details regarding the issue: Software Version: Version 2022.3.93Project Name: Help Support Document (Test)Output Format: FramelessDescription of Issue: The output appears incomplete, with only a portion of the content being published. I have verified the project settings and publish options with the IT support, but the problem remains unresolved. Could you please assist me in identifying the cause of this problem and provide guidance on how to resolve it? Any help or suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
After upgrading to RH 2022.4.179, we have some spaces, apostrophes, and other random areas that are showing as the triangle with the question mark. We checked and the Window OS is set to English and the Preset Output is set to English. These are old .chm files that we continually update. We also looked at the HTML and there is nothing in there to indicate a problem. Examples attached.
I just had our IT dept install the latest Robohelp update on my machine. I'm now runningRobohelp 2022 4.179. As I was working today, I noticed that at least 2 of my styles that were imported from a Word document several months ago, now look like they might be corrupt. In the styles list in RH, the style is no longer showing the name of the style as it always has, but now it shows up in the list as some crazy bizarre font with symbols and letters. The style was originally named Bullets - ChangeLink and now it crazy. I guess I should say that it hasn't affected my documents asf ar as I know........ My pages where these styles were used, seem to still be formatted corretly. It's the name and the way it's showing up in the style list that bothers me. I believe something is or has happened and I'm worried that if I just ignore, it could be problematic down the road. Additionally, noone is going to know what these style do and we use them
I'm trying to make a section and/or topic on a new page. I believe I should be using Pagination by changing the heading "break before" option to Always, but that's not working. Any help appreciated.
Sorry, a controvertial question but can a responsive HTML5 output generated in RH be published to MadCap Central?
Hello, Brand new to RoboHelp, have used many similar tools over the years. One thing I'd love to get set up is to have a "split screen" with the WYSWYG authoring mode on the top, and the XML source code displayed below. As it works currently in my installation, I can only toggle between the two modes, I cannot have them both active simultaneously. With other tools I've used, I would regularly edit in both, and would like to be able to do the same in RoboHelp. Any way to do this?
Robohelp v2022.3.93 Glossary terms are relatively straightforward: it's a term with a definition attached to it.The problem is that glossary terms often also need to be translated. For example, the term NATO is translated as NAVO in Dutch and OTAN in French. AFAIK, I do not see a way to translate the term along with the definition. We can of course create a French term, but that would mean plastering both the Dutch and French term in every topic with a language condition tag. We can modify the term in the Default.glo itself (NAVO -> OTAN), but existing instances of the glossary term will not update to the new gloss term: Am I missing something or is defining another term the only way? On a side note, I don't really get why data-glossterm is mapped to the glossary term instead of the glossary ID ('Default_NAVO').
Generating a PDF output I get a file where some lines (only a few out of 200 pages) have the wrong font (usually TMS Roman), while the majority has the right font (OpenSans) that I set in css file.Topics are imported from a Word file and are NOT in a "clean" HTML however the HTML generated output is fine, showing OpenSans font everywhere.Adobe Support suggested to start from a brand new project, I tried importing only topics and css but the result is the same.I'm usingRoboHelp version 2020.8.34OS Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2 OS build 19045.4780
We acquired RH 2019 in December 2018, and I upgraded my RH 2017 project to 2019 with no problems. However, when I saw that the Related Topics button wasn't supported yet, I started using RH 2019 Classic. I recently saw that Update 4 (released in January, 2019) supported the Related Topics button, so I installed that update, deleted my old upgraded project, and tried upgrading again. It won't work. It creates the file structure, but never fills it in with actual files. With my first successful upgrade in December, everything completed in minutes. I've let this one run for over an hour and there's nothing happening.
