Robohelp 2022.4.179, Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Using an existing Output Preset, or creating a new one, the Style Mapping table does not contain any styles from the .css used by the documents in the Table of Contents, nor any styles from the Word Tempate. I managed at one point yesterday to get it to populate correctly, but haven't been able to duplicate whatever steps I went through to get it to work. Any ideas about what's going wrong?
Hi,In the .lng file there is a section "pdf" with translated terms for a pdf layout. It contains for example "Index", "Glossary" etc. But when I create a PDF layout these translated terms are not used, but the English ones instead. When I open the glossary .plt file in the template I can see the English terms:<div data-region="header"><p class="glo-header">Glossary</p></div><div data-region="content"><h1 class="glo-title">Glossary</h1></div>I was wondering what I have to do, that these terms are replaced with the translations from the .lng file during generation of the PDF.BTW for the Responsive HTML output the translated labels of the lng file are used automatically.
I am currently experiencing an issue with Adobe Robo Help where the project published with the frameless layout is only showing partial content. Despite my efforts to resolve this, the problem persists. Here are some details regarding the issue: Software Version: Version 2022.3.93Project Name: Help Support Document (Test)Output Format: FramelessDescription of Issue: The output appears incomplete, with only a portion of the content being published. I have verified the project settings and publish options with the IT support, but the problem remains unresolved. Could you please assist me in identifying the cause of this problem and provide guidance on how to resolve it? Any help or suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
After upgrading to RH 2022.4.179, we have some spaces, apostrophes, and other random areas that are showing as the triangle with the question mark. We checked and the Window OS is set to English and the Preset Output is set to English. These are old .chm files that we continually update. We also looked at the HTML and there is nothing in there to indicate a problem. Examples attached.
I just had our IT dept install the latest Robohelp update on my machine. I'm now runningRobohelp 2022 4.179. As I was working today, I noticed that at least 2 of my styles that were imported from a Word document several months ago, now look like they might be corrupt. In the styles list in RH, the style is no longer showing the name of the style as it always has, but now it shows up in the list as some crazy bizarre font with symbols and letters. The style was originally named Bullets - ChangeLink and now it crazy. I guess I should say that it hasn't affected my documents asf ar as I know........ My pages where these styles were used, seem to still be formatted corretly. It's the name and the way it's showing up in the style list that bothers me. I believe something is or has happened and I'm worried that if I just ignore, it could be problematic down the road. Additionally, noone is going to know what these style do and we use them
I'm trying to make a section and/or topic on a new page. I believe I should be using Pagination by changing the heading "break before" option to Always, but that's not working. Any help appreciated.
Sorry, a controvertial question but can a responsive HTML5 output generated in RH be published to MadCap Central?
Hello, Brand new to RoboHelp, have used many similar tools over the years. One thing I'd love to get set up is to have a "split screen" with the WYSWYG authoring mode on the top, and the XML source code displayed below. As it works currently in my installation, I can only toggle between the two modes, I cannot have them both active simultaneously. With other tools I've used, I would regularly edit in both, and would like to be able to do the same in RoboHelp. Any way to do this?
Robohelp v2022.3.93 Glossary terms are relatively straightforward: it's a term with a definition attached to it.The problem is that glossary terms often also need to be translated. For example, the term NATO is translated as NAVO in Dutch and OTAN in French. AFAIK, I do not see a way to translate the term along with the definition. We can of course create a French term, but that would mean plastering both the Dutch and French term in every topic with a language condition tag. We can modify the term in the Default.glo itself (NAVO -> OTAN), but existing instances of the glossary term will not update to the new gloss term: Am I missing something or is defining another term the only way? On a side note, I don't really get why data-glossterm is mapped to the glossary term instead of the glossary ID ('Default_NAVO').
Generating a PDF output I get a file where some lines (only a few out of 200 pages) have the wrong font (usually TMS Roman), while the majority has the right font (OpenSans) that I set in css file.Topics are imported from a Word file and are NOT in a "clean" HTML however the HTML generated output is fine, showing OpenSans font everywhere.Adobe Support suggested to start from a brand new project, I tried importing only topics and css but the result is the same.I'm usingRoboHelp version 2020.8.34OS Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2 OS build 19045.4780
We acquired RH 2019 in December 2018, and I upgraded my RH 2017 project to 2019 with no problems. However, when I saw that the Related Topics button wasn't supported yet, I started using RH 2019 Classic. I recently saw that Update 4 (released in January, 2019) supported the Related Topics button, so I installed that update, deleted my old upgraded project, and tried upgrading again. It won't work. It creates the file structure, but never fills it in with actual files. With my first successful upgrade in December, everything completed in minutes. I've let this one run for over an hour and there's nothing happening.
Is anyone else using the most recent version of Robohelp 2020 having any issues publishing and connecting to SharePoint? Last week, our ability to publish stopped working. We cannot access the exeuted files on SharePoint either. The strange part is that we have a test area on SharePoint that does still open and is functional. There is some connection between Adobe and Microsoft that seems to be broken, and we cannot figure out how to fix the issue. Any guideance would be helpful.
I reported this same issue in a different post ("403 Error when using Frameless Output Mini-TOC") searlier this month, and I am still experiencing the issue. Peter, you and Jeff said no one else had reported the issue. You also suggested in that post that it might be a webserver permissions issue. I still think it is a RoboHelp issue. One of our IT people looked at this issue with me today. I showed him a copy of the project generated with an older version of RoboHelp, where the miniTOC links work, and a copy generated with RH 2022.4.179, where the miniTOC links do not work. He had me inspect a miniTOC link in the output that works and in the output that does not work. In the output that does not work, he found an extra set of span tags. See the image below. He removed the span tags from the link that did not work, and the link worked again. Does this still sound like a webserver permissions issue? Is there something I could have done in the proj
Hello, community. We are using RH2022.3.93 and creating responsive HTML 5 outputs. We then zip the files and have our digital team upload the webhelp to our corporate support page and build it into a help button within our application. I recently published an updated webhelp and there is an issue with the search functionality. When a search term is entered into either search field in the webhelp, it comes up with a count of results, e.g., 14 results found, but then none of the results appear. Then the system freezes and the user is unable to click the ToC or Index or Filter buttons. They might even get a "Page needs to be reloaded" error (though not every time). I noticed other posts about a similar issue, but they were about CHM files and the publication methods were different. I'm generating output and then having our tech teams deploy the webhelp separately (not publishing through Robo's publish tool set). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
I am trying to set up a project with frameless output which has tailored contents using condition tags inside it based on the "role" of the customer. I do not want my customers to see that the content they are seeing is tailored to them or give them any possibility to view content meant for other "roles". For that purpose, I have removed the filter button. What I am unable to remove is the filter capsule (see picture) that provides the option to the customer an option to remove the applied filter and see unfiltered content with no possibility to go back. How do I remove the filter indicator capsules? Is there any possibility to do that? I would really appreciate any solutions or suggestions.
We used hhctrl.lib with VS2012 to enable us to view our Microsoft HTML help. Does anyone know what the equivalent is for use with VS2022 ?
Hi. I am looking for tips on how to add a spacer / line between sections or topics in my toc for frameless output in RH2022. I'm not afraid to get into the code, if that is the solution--I just don't know what the best solution is. I did try adding a horizontal rule in the toc code, but it did nothing. I tried adding an unlinked section with -------------- for the topic title, but it doesn't display at all because the section is empty. I don't want to use a topic because I don't want it interactive. I just want space or a some kind of line between pieces of content in the toc.
When I attempt to rename one of my folders in the contents of my project, I get an error message. I've tried in a new project as well as the project I'm currently working on and I get the same error in the lower right corner and then all of my content disappears from the folder that I just tried to rename. I have to go to assests folder and create the the folder and name it properly and thank goodness all of my .htm files are still there and then copy those into and copy the files into a different foler and then
Hi, The CHM file is generated and bundled as a single file in a . CHM form by the RoboHelp tool to work in an application, and in a Frameless output, each help file is available as a separate HTML file.Could someone explain internally within the application how the tagging helps IDs with context-sensitive topics in a CHM and Frameless output is done?
I am using Robohelp Classic 2019 and want to include a link to a PDF form where users can share feedback and then submit it through their Outlook email. What is the best way to do that?
I just started with RH 2022 after a couple of sequential upgrades.Where are the controls for the Track Changes function?
In a web output like Responsive HTML5 or Frameless, is there a way to provide audible feedback to a visually impaired user doing a search in the help file's search tab? For example, have it announce "search started" or "search complete" or "no results." I assume they are using a screen reader in this situation. This is for accessibility or 508 or WCAG. If this does not exist, is there an alternative output or indicator or solution that would comply with these standards?
Is there a way to lock the breadcrumbs from the master page so that when I scroll through the content on the page, the breadcrumbs stay at the top?
Will I need to know HTML5 if I upgrade to RH 2022? I have been using classic 2019 and do just fine but think we need to upgrade.
I have an background image inserted into the top of my welcome page through the layout assigned to the topic. (The image is actually references in the layout.) When I generate, I always get the message that the image failed to copy.Image in code:<div data-region="Header" style="background-image: url(&#39;../images/banner.png&#39;);background-size: 100%;background-repeat: no-repeat;background-position: center top">Error I get:Skipped copying external file "c:/Output/SampleProject/images/banner.png"I have added the image to another topic ot make sure it is not labeled as an external file, but I still get the error. The page with the topic shows the image. The Welcome page which should have the same image through the layout that is applied, does not have the image. It shows the rest of the layout though.Windows 10RoboHelp Version 2022.3.93
