I am using RH 2015 and generating WebHelp output. Our administrator asked us to move our version control files to a new server. During this process, I was able to move several smaller projects with no problem. When attempting to move our main (largest) project, I received the message, "The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator." I understand the administrator can increase the limit (which I think is 5,000 by default). Has anyone else encountered this message? If yes, did you find any solutions other than--or in addition to--raising the SharePoint threshold limit that still involved using SharePoint for RH version control?Related questions: Is it possible to limit the files RoboHelp adds to version control when adding a project to version control? If yes, how? Are there any drawbacks to deleting from a project all but one skin, only the screen layout(s) being used for the
We just upgraded to Robohelp 12 and now the Style pod is flickering every time information is entered. It does not cause any issues but is very annoying.
RoboHelp 2017Layout - Azure BlueWhen I publish my help project to our server, the Filter icon doesn't load on the pages. If I click refresh, I can see the icon for a split second and then it goes away. Before publishing, when I do a preview locally, the output looks correct.I saw the other post about some aspects of the page not loading for the Responsive HTML5 output but it doesn't seem to address my problem. Thanks,Arshun Jacobs
I am using Robohelp 10 (10.0.1.292) to (re) build a webhelp sample for my portfolio that I originally built in a SaaS tool called HelpIQ/ProProfs Knowledgebase. When I built that system, I had the typical TOC with books and topics, and because I don't like empty books, in that system, the books were also topics, typically the overview topics on a particular subject with links to the sub-topics.In RH 10, WebHelp is my primary (and only) output. As I am (re)creating my TOC structure, I am taking the overview topics, converting them to books in the TOC and then making it a book with link and selecting the topic. All fine. But the output has one issue:When I click on a book, just one action occurs: opening the book to show the sub-topics. What's interesting is that I can click on the book a second time, and the topic will display. What should happen, what I expect to happen, what I have seen happen in the aforementioned tool, is that clicking on a book makes both happen with one click. Is t
I have a project I created in RoboHelp 2015 on a Win 7 laptop. I upgraded to a laptop with Win 10 and I no longer have access to the Meiryo UI font in my RoboHelp project. I need this font for my Japanese translation. It is causing all kinds of problems. Also, any English text I have in my Japanese project is coming out as Times New Roman. Never had an issue before. I switched my CSS to Meiryo rather than Meiryo UI. I tried using Arial on the English words and that did not work, they still showed up in Times New Roman. I had to create Character formatting in Verdana and apply it to all English words to get them to render properly. I tried using a Fontset with Verdana as second font and that messed up the Meiryo font. What happened to the Meiryo UI font in RoboHelp? I know the Meiryo UI font is installed on my system because I can access it in MS Word docs without a problem.Any thoughts?
Hi.My webhelp output behaves otherwise in RH 2017 than in RH 11.The menu buttons do not refresh to its right color when I click on another button.I've tried to describe the poblem in the attach image.Reg. Dag Sundet
RoboHelp 2017 (13.0.2.334) on Windows 10 64-bitResponsive HTML5 layout. The Search functionality in this layout doesn't always work. I tested it across three browsers locally and remotely, with our own project and with Travel the Whirls sample project. Here are my test results:Firefox (58.0.2 64-bit)Internet Explorer (11.248.1699.0)MS Edge (41.16299.248.0)Chrome (64.0.3282.186)Our Project (locally)GoodBad (no search)GoodGoodOur Project (webserver)Bad (no search)Bad (no search)GoodGoodTravel the Whirls (locally)GoodReally Bad (no contents*)GoodGoodTravel the Whirls (webserver)GoodReally Bad (no contents*)GoodGood* You only get the shell of the layout. Nothing loads if you're using just Index.htm in the URL. If you directly type a full pathway to a specific .htm topic, you do see contents. We'd obviously like this to work across as many browsers as possible. Does anyone know the fix? I've seen that others have had similar issues. Is all this related to this bug? The bug mentions some possib
I'm using RH2015, Build 12.0.4.460 to generate WebHelp. I have had reports of users not being able to find content that I know exists in the help. I have determined that the issue is being caused by what appears to me to be randomly inserted Microsoft Office (MSO) code. In the most recent example, a user did a search for "Processing payments before scheduled date". The html code reveals some random html code separating the "P" from the rest of the word "Processing".This code is causing the search to fail. A search for "rocessing payments before scheduled date" works. We are not using the Tahoma font family, and we are using a Master page that, among other things, applies the .css page we want to use for styling the help output.I have also noticed numerous replications of the following code block in the HTML:If the above image is too small to read, the blocks are "CustomDocumentProperties" blocks. I did not intentionally insert any of them.
Strangely a logo I have in my startpage.htm keeps on disappearing from the Project Files view and thus in the page itself.In the startseite.htt I have<?rh-region_start type="header" style="width: 100%; position: relative;" ?> <p style="margin-top: 0pt;"><img src="LogoCOMPANY.gif" alt="" style="border: none;" border="0" /></p> <hr align="center" /><?rh-region_end type="header" ?><?rh-region_start type="body" ?>This must have been created b
Hi,When i import a document via link > word file, the hyperlinks dosen't work. I'm trying a external hyperlinks to web, how can i fix it?I am using a RH 2015 and word 2013 to import. Thanks!
Hello,I hate to beat this issue further into the ground, but I have tried everything I could think of. This goes back several related issues that were discussed in other posts, but I think this one is probably unique from them. When I try to publish any project using any Responsive HTML5 output, the TOC is not synchronizing up with the displayed topic unless I navigate to the topic from the TOC itself. This is happening with IE11, the latest version of Chrome and Firefox tested on local drive and on hosting network site. I have tried the fix in Item 13 of Using RoboHelp 2017 which does get the search to work in all the browsers, but seems to maybe have broken the synchronization. I also tried checking all the settings I could think of and the outcome is always the same. In addition, when I test any of the same projects with the WebHelp output, sych works just fine. I am using RH2017, Windows10 with the Adobe supplied patches installed.Does anyone have thoughts on what else I can try t
I'm using RH9. I have a number of topics that link to pop-ups that include lists, screenshots, and other materials. When I generate a PDF printout, none of the pop-ups are included. Is there a print setting setting I'm missing?
In the "All Map Ids" view of Robohelp HTML (Vers.9) one can filter out the used MapIds such that one only sees the unused ones (marked yellow). Is there a way to write them out to a file. There is also no way to cut/paste from the list view.--Christoph
Hi,I have faced a problem after generating the context sensitive web help, the ids in the generated web help differ from the ids I have defined earlier. All Ids take a sequence that is totally different from the entered one's.Attached a snap shots for clarification..h fileAfter generatingMappingHow can I force my ids after generating the web help?

I work for a company with various software products. The person that maintained the Help project for one of those products has left the company and the project can not be located. I was able to secure the Webhelp folder created through RoboHelp containing hundreds of HTM files that are currently linked within the program. What is the easiest way to create a new project and transition those files into the project without importing each separately? I also need to retain any old map ids so Coding will not have to reestablish those links. Any help would be appreciated!!
Finally, there is some clarity on the approach that the product team is going to be taking. The product will be multi-tenant. So one instance of the product will cater to multiple users. Based on the username the user will see what he has purchased. For example,User A has a full license he will see all 5 tabs on the product UI on sign-in.User B has a limited license he will see 3 tabs on the product UI on sign-in.The product build is the same/common in this case. It will call a single instance of the Online Help as usual by clicking (?) in the top-right.In the help output, how can we ensure that User B sees content for only the 3 tabs he supposed to and not the other 2 tabs. There will be Development team/UI team code changes to call the help URL. Any suggestion on how only relevant pages can be called/conditioned/hidden.
Hello! I have been living with this problem for ages, and just manually deleting them. But, I now have a new coworker who does not get the same problem when we single-source the same project to Word. When I create a single-source Word document, before each topic heading in the newly generated Word doc, I get a tag like this: { XE "GPA:setting up" \MERGEFORMAT} I get one for each index entry for the topic. I do not generate an index when I generate printed docs. I'm trying to figure out where to get rid of these. It looks like a Word setting. My coworker and I have looked at all of our options in both Robo and Word, and can't seem to find which one made hers go away. I use RH7 and Word 2003. Any ideas? Thank you for your help in advance.
After deploying a new PC and installing RoboHelp 2017 I keep getting a multitude of script errors upon opening an existing project. This project opens on an older PC without the error but I have now tested on two different new PC's and keep getting same errors. IE 11 is the default browser.the first script error is
I'm updating our help system to show additional Themes we have added to the software. (to change the look of the software) We now have a total of 16 Themes. I'd like to show an example of each, so I'm taking a screen shot of the software with each theme applied to have all shown in the appropriate topic. As you can image, this would take up a LOT of space. I could make each theme name a drop down hotspot, but even that would take up a lot of space, since the user could have multiple drop down hotspots open at the same time. I was thinking, it would be AMAZING if I could have one image shown, and have it update when they click on another theme name. (The image would stay in the same spot, but update when another theme was clicked on)I don't think this is possible in Robohelp 09, but I thought I'd ask you guys to see if anyone knew something I didn't. The other thing that would work is if hovering over a theme name would bring the image in, but it would go away once your mouse was remove
I have two different layouts, one for Android, one for iOS. I am using our proprietary font and this displays properly everywhere in Android. However, on iOS devices, for the Home (default) page, the Table of Contents page and for the first title displayed in the first topic page, the font is a serif font, looks like Times New Roman. Note that on the second and subsequent topic pages, the title uses the correct font. I have searched the entire project for mention of a serif font, there is nothing there, our font is in every font-family reference along with Arial. Does anyone have any idea where this is coming from? I've successfully changed background and text colours in the layouts so I'm a bit pharmished as to where I'm going wrong.BTW, the pages and fonts display correctly when viewed on a desktop in either Chrome or IE and in addition, when I use the iOS URL on an Android device, everything displays correctly. Another aside: in my iPad_Layout Screen Layout, no mobile.css appears in
If we have a scenario where the Responsive help output is hosted on a Web server and accessed like this via a URL:https://<helpserverIP/domain>/product/online_help/index.htmwhen we have new content added to the help files, can we compile the Responsive output on a local laptop and then just replace the online_help folder on the helpserver? Is there any chance that the output will break when we access https://<helpserverIP/domain>/product/online_help/index.htm?And for what reason? Any specific files to be careful of?or does the output need to be compiled by installing RH 2017 on the helpserver by opening the source code from SVN?
Hello,We have a scenario where we have 2 versions of a ProductX that are being used by 2 different customers.ProductX v1.0 - Customer A with a license for v1.0 only.ProductX v1.5 - Customer B with a license for v1.5 only.Condition: Customer A should not be able to view the content of ProductX v1.5 and Customer B should not be able to view the content of ProductX v1.0.The help output is hosted on a help server and accessible via web URL for example http://help.domain.com/productX/help/index.htm. This help URL is integrated into ProductX.Can we have a single help output, as mentioned above, serving ProductX but also satisfying the condition mentioned? Is it achievable by using tags or any other way?
I am having trouble navigating with a project that I regenerated from an old project for the benefit of the Chrome TOC showing on the left. Now I have the problem of the lack of navigation via the URL. When I change the URL it does not change the content of the window as shown below:Navigating to "Affected By MU" in the URL does not yield the expected result of having the page showing with that title. Navigating via the browser address field does not affect the page as it did in the old project before I regenerated it. How do I recreate this functionality?Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Preston
I know I can position my window in pixels, but I would like the CHM to always align to the right side of the screen and I do not know my end-users' resolution.
