Hello,I would like to add a column (Stylesheet) to the topic list pod. I'm not able to do so. I can not enter the settings by clicking on the heading of a column in the topic list pod. I'm using Robohelp 2017 with subscription (german user interface). Does somebody know a solution for this?ThanksMichael
Is there a quicker way to change the standard colors of the azure blue or charcoal responsive layout images, without manually editing their color pallete in PhotoShop? I want to replace the standard blue with a corporate approved red.
I need to update the hyperlink for my HTML5 RoboHelp 2015 project...but for the life of me I cannot find that option in the screen layout editor! The URLs need to be updated in order to fix broken links. Anyone guide me to the right location to update the URL for the TOC, Index, Glossary, and Favorites buttons? Screenshot of the issue is below.
I use a lot of image files via DHTML. How can I find and delete unused image files in a RoboHelp project?
Hi All,I'm trying to import a vast number of existing Word documents into RoboHelp 2017. We're pretty good about using styles, and to ensure that lists always worked, we use Word's multilevel list styles. However, I cannot get the lists to import into RoboHelp correctly. Here is what I'm trying to do:1. I've got my CSS in RoboHelp, which has a multiple level list style defined how I want it, with the same name as the multilevel list in the Word document (OneListStyle is the name of the style in both). For each level of the list, the paragraph styles are defined, with the same names in both the source Word document and in the RoboHelp CSS file. 2. I run an import Word document routine and select the Word file I want and ensure that the paragraph styles for the individual list levels are mapped. 3. I also select the convert to Mulitlevel Lists option on the import wizard. 4. Run the import. No matter what I do, imported document in RoboHelp has mangled the multilevel list style by giving
Need some help with my main button links (TOC, Index, Glossary, Favorites) not working when the browser's window size is adjusted. Basically, when the browser is maximized, all the links work. When the browser is resized, the main links move to a different layout (html5) and then all of those links are trying to access a now deleted screen layout. Anyone know of the solution? Please help!
Hi,Went to add index keywords to a topic via Smart Index Wizard. Selected the keywords, when select OK it crashes RoboHelp. The only way to get RoboHelp working is to End Task in the Task Manager. Have tried different topics in case the topic I was selected was corrupted, without success; selected from displayed suggestions as well as creating new; restarted my computer - Robo just stops working.I have RoboHelp15 installed - any help will be GREATLY appreciated! I have never encountered this problem in the past.See attached dialogue I cannot escape/get out of.Thanks,Sharyn
Current Software: Adobe RoboHelp 2015 (12.0.4.460)Hi, we noticed a problem with conditional tagging when prepping the last release of our software. We had recently tagged a lot of content with full topic-level conditional tags for review as we are doing a major overhaul of our help. When building the project, half the items (about 3700 files of 7000 files) were missing from the build. It turns out, these were all the topics marked for review. I had seen somewhere that conditional tagging has had problems where even if it is not involved in a build expression as being excluded, RoboHelp is excluding all conditionally tagged items, period. I saw this has at least been a problem since at least 2015, but I have not seen a solution or been able to find any help online, and our software is still doing this. I'm not sure how long it's been doing this in our system as previously, the items we had marked with conditional tags were not supposed to be seen in our builds anyway, and we recently up
Hello,I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question.I'm using a trial version of RoboHelp 10. Is it possible to insert custom header and footer onto the WebHelp output window? I want to add a header on top of the output window (before contents, index, search toolbar), and add a footer to the bottom of the window (a footer that goes across the two panes). I tried using master pages, but that's not what I am looking for since master pages are limited to customizing the topic pages. Does HTML5 output support the customizations that I want? Thank you.
I have a project for which I'm filtering out some themes by using CBTs. I tried to revert all set CBTs to unset, but with one theme (folder) I'm having problems. I cannot delete that CBT.It is that the folders in the HTML tree view are either marked with a triangle corresponding to the color of the CBT or with a grey one.In case of the colored CBT it sticks to a color, the color that is assigned to a CBT, named "Off".When I right click on that topic folder, and choose the bottom menu item (New/Multiple - that is Neu/Mehrere in the german language version)I see that all are unchecked, just the one named "Off" is checked, bat greyed out. When I uncheck this, I can do this but clicking OK then doesn't makle it go away. It sticks there.--Christoph
Hi,I am trying to save my RoboHelp project, and I get the following error message: "An error occurred while trying to read data from <C:/....fpj> (it put the location of my .fpj file). I took a look at the fpj file, but I can't tell what the problem is. Has anyone run across this before? How can I fix it?Thanks in advance.

The project is set up with Use Distiller to Generate Images checked. Do Not Regenerate Images is left unchecked. Until June this year the project would generate correctly, with Distiller popping up regularly to generate a PDF from a TPS. This week we have several projects to regenerate for a major product release. When I choose Update > Force Update on the book file, generation starts, but as soon as Distiller starts it produces an error message saying 'C:\...\Pdf000002.tps Cannot open this file. Please check that the correct path and filename are given.' The generation stops unless you click OK, and if you do click OK immediately produces the same error message, and stops again. If I unselect Use Distiller to Generate Images then the project generates, with poor image quality. The .t
Hello fellows,I have an FM 13 book linked to a Robohelp project and I am in the middle of mapping the FM pgf styles to RH styles.I don't see a way to map FM figure/table captions to any similar RH style as there isn't any. As far as I understand, setting the mapping to Source isn't recommended.Any ideas how to proceed?Additional question is how to map the FM Note/Caution tables to a similar table in HTML?Thank you in advance!
My documentation team and I are having some difficulties with getting some web help guides generated by RoboHelp HTML 11 to display in Google Chrome and we're wondering if any others have encountered a similar issue. We have a HTML-based help system where the top frame is an interface with different tabs containing hyperlinks to all the user guides we offer (all of the guides are stored locally in separate folders after a user installs our company's software on their machine). Upon selecting one of these links, the respective guide should appear below with the left frame displaying the guide's TOC and the right frame showing the content. We recently upgraded to RoboHelp HTML 11 for the Chrome support and we can open each guide individually in Google Chrome with no issues. However, when we load the guides into our help system and try to call the guides from the hyperlinks in the top frame while using Chrome, the guides are not appearing. When I try to open a guide from within our help sy
Hi, I am using RoboHelp HTML 11, to create content sensitive help for a web application. I am generating my output (!SSL!) using Responsive HTML5.Recently, my program started to behave odd and I encountered the following problems after generating my output (I must say that I did not make any changes regarding my layout preferences or any other changes in general):1. When I open the Help window from the application, the Table of Contents is initially collapsed. If I expand it and close the Help window and re-open it, the Table of Contents is now expanded. I need it to be expanded when the Help window opens and remain expanded, unless the user chooses to collapse it. Any idea how I can fix this problem?2. When navigating through the Table of Contents and selecting a topic, the page quickly refreshes before the topic content is displayed. The Table of Contents "flickers" before the topic is displayed. Before this used to happen, I could smoothly navigate through the ToC (the topics opened
Is there a 64-bit version of RoboHelp 2017? If not, will RoboHelp 2017 32-bit run effectively on a 64-bit OS?
I created a paragraph style that indents text 18pt from the Left. This allows the text to line up with the text from a Bullet List or Number List (that I also created). (Red line added for effect only)However, after generating WebHelp output, that indentation doesn't stay. The text justifies to the full left. (Red line added for effect only)How do I get the WebHelp output to match to the Design in RoboHelp?
I'm using the Indigo HTML 5 layout in RH2017. The index in my help project contains keywords and subkeywords. However, the subkeywords are listed at the same level as the keyword. This causes the index to look like it's in non-alphabetical order, because it's not clear to the user which are keywords or subkeywords. Here is a screenshot with the Indigo layout:And here is the same index in a CHM output. The subkeywords are at a different level. Is there a way to reproduce the CHM-style nesting of the index with the Indigo layout?
For background, my company has been using RoboHelp 2010 for Word for a long time now. Now that I'm taking over our help file, I am using RoboHelp 2017. I imported the old project into the new system and everything seems to work except for the context-sensitive search, which is extremely important. The previous owner showed me the project in the old system, and he was using K-keywords to link his files. He generated the output directly as a .chm previously. I am using the WebHelp to CHM output option. My question is: Is there a way to convert this k-keyword system into something usable in RoboHelp 2017? I can get it to work as an index within the help file, but our software will open the help file to the home topic from everywhere in the system now, instead of the relevant topic.I think the old method of K-keywords relied on a Microsoft Word document as a map file. Do I need a .h type map file now? Is there any easy way to "switch over" so that I can use the word document as the map fil
Hi all,is it possible to have the checkbox for unmarking search results in HTML5 Responsive Help like it was in Webhelp? Thanks for every upcomming hint!
Hello to you oh-so-helpful forum folks!I have inherited several RH projects, one of which uses WebHelp for output--and that is the project I'm having trouble with. I am using RH 11.0.4.291 and have all updates installed. I am not overly familiar with WebHelp. The compiled help was last checked into source control on 12/14/2015, but it looks like quite a few files were later updated and checked in on 7/13/2016. I have updated only one file, and checked it in on 9/1/2017. In the existing compiled help, the TOC and index are visible and the product variable is where it's supposed to be. All of my examples are for using IE 11, but the same is true of Chrome and Edge. When I compile the file now, however, it opens with a statement that the product variable is not defined and the TOC and index do not appear. In the project itself, the product variable is defined and displays properly. In the Project Manager, two files are defined in the TOC and Index folders: PL_Help (Default) and PLHelp. When
This issue just started today. Each time I try to insert an image in an existing RoboHelp project, I get the following error:Then, of course, the project completely crashes. To give some more information, this is an RH project that was recovered from one that became lost due to a previous laptop crashing. The project has been working fine along with publishing and inserting images until today. I use SnagIt to capture images and save them right within the RoboHelp project's folder and I set the DPI on images to 300 so they scale appropriately within the project. The RoboHelp project is saved on a folder on my company's network. The recovered project contained several images from the old project which I had to change out and I kept the same naming convention on some. The error is not consistent but happens the majority of the time. It displays when adding images and sometimes even when just opening the project.Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm on a tight deadline to get a majo
Hello,I have a project that I would like to import from RoboHelp 2017 into FrameMaker version 10. I have two major questions that perhaps you can help me with:1) Are these product versions compatible or do I need other versions that would enable the content import?2) How do I achieve the actual import? What is the step-by-step process/procedure in FrameMaker?Thank you kindly,
Hello Rh CHM Gurus! Please review below. Any suggestion, please educate.Thank you all for your time.~PMRh version: 11OS: Windows 7Issue: Running the WebHelp to CHM Converter script increases the size of the CHM fileExample: Old chm file size = 15,425,068New chm file size = 106,975,117Questions:Did the script include additional files that make up the WebHelp (used in an uncompiled HTML - in the essence, used to create a WebHelp web site)? Is there code to edit the WebHelp to CHM Converter.jsx? My WebHelp Settings are as follows:
It appears that I can check the file location where my RoboHelp projects are saved from within RoboHelp by going to File --> Recent Projects, but how can I create a backup copy? I've been told that network policies/traffic may otherwise end up corrupting files. So I'd like to save every project to my local drive and then back it up on our network.
