For a legacy system, I require the updated MDBMS.dll file in the APSB13-24.zip referenced in the Robohelp Security Bulletin APSB13-24 (Adobe - Security Bulletins: APSB13-24 - Security update available for RoboHelp) Unfortunately, when I follow the link to the ZIP file (http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/downloads/APSB13-24.zip), I get a 404 error page. How can I obtain this file?
I wonder if some of you have had the same issues I have with my Robohelp 2015 project. The issue seems to rear it's head periodically throughout the day with my userbase of the Robohelp project.Basically, the search function fails to find the results it should. Example, You search the word "Computer" and the results should yield a document called "Fixing your computer". Instead, you get a message from the search that no results were found. You then perform a refresh of the site and right away the project will find said document.Sometimes, the search will return certain documents but not all that it should according the searched phrase/words.This issue occurs on both IE and Chrome and on any number of Windows workstations. This as you can imagine can be quite frustrating as users will search for an item and be unaware that the search function is not working correctly as there is no message stating that the system is not working as it should.Any help is much appreciated,Ian
Each time I try to create a docx file (from a RH10 project). RoboHelp crashes. I have included a screenshot. How do I fix this?It also crashes if I select .doc.If I select 'Generate individual documents' instead of 'Generate single document' it crashes and displays 'Failed to build 'Title Page' as the last line.(I opened a sample project and I can save that to docx with no problems.)I'm afraid windows has dimmed the text showing the progress RoboHelp has made.It says:Starting to build Printed Documentation...Printed Documentation processor 12.0.1.338Building C;\Users......Preparing to create Printed Documentation...Clearing output folder...Preparing files for Print Document...Copying files...Updating files...inished preparing in 3 seconds.Preparing environment...Warning: illegal style mapping from paragraph style (span_bullet) to list style (BulletList)Printed Document Generator Environment: Word 15.0.4763, OS.6.1.7601. Hi, I am working on RoboHelp 10, and trying to use the functionality that iFrames include. But I am facing a bit of a problem here. Here's what I have:Topic A - the master topic.Topic B - containing part BTopic C - containing part C, andTopic A = part B + part C. The three topics are referenced at different places. I have tried using iFrames in Topic A for the B and C part, but the place I'm stuck at is that iFrames pull the entire content from Topic B and C. What I am trying is just to call the topic body (excluding the topic intro and conclusion), as Topic A has some other common information. Is is possible to just call selective content from a topic? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi all,I'm working on a small Responsive help file using Theme 1_ Standard. I need to remove the search option that shows up on the bottom of every page. Looking at the code, I believe it's the search results widget that's hard-coded into the theme. Swear I've removed it before in *another* Help file, but can't remember how it was accomplished. Image attached. Thanks!Julie
What I understand from other posts in this forum is that if everything goes well during a compile, the !chm folder goes away after the file is successfully compiled. Mine does not go away, and it seems to contain a duplicate of everything in the root help folder, which is just wasting space as far as I can tell. When I compile, I get an HHC5003 Error stating that compilation failed while compiling a specific html file that I simply cannot find in the folder. The "file" appears to be a URL. After the error, I get a message that the file did not compile, but I also get "Compilation complete."The help file works just fine and I cannot figure out how to resolve an error about a file that does not exist. To be complete, what happens in the output view is that while RH compiles the .chm file it lists the .HHC and .HHK file, then the HTML files, the GIFs, and PNGs. This is what shows up after that:RoboHHRE.lngProlith.hhcProlith.hhkchip-prolith.htmlHHC5003: Error: Compilation failed while
Hello Rh gurus…I am using Rh 11 (HTML).Configuration/Settings: The Printed Documentation Section Layout is as follows:Cover pageCopyrightTOCChapter LayoutGlossary (issue I am having with)The problem: Rh generation insists the “Glossary Heading” to be centered (by default) on my printed Word document.Word.dot template settings: I am able to set/save my “Glossary Heading” styles in my Word.dot Left Justified (under Modify Style).Research: Per Rh documentation, there are three Styles used:The glossary document uses three styles that are copied to the Word document:Glossary Heading: The style used for the header letters (A, B, and so on). Hi everyone. Long time no speak! I've got a general query that I'm hoping some bright person can provide an insight with.We are looking to move from our current knowledge base and user community provider. They are on the same platform. The great and the good here started thinking that having the user community and knowledge base on the same platform was the way to go. I've managed to convince them that this may not be the best way to go. The primary reasons for this is that all of the tools I've seen don't have anywhere near the same capabilities as RoboHelp. Now here's the thing. The community will still exist somewhere, and we want the community users to be able to search for the knowledge base content. Not only that, but support desk staff want knowledge base content to be "publicized" in the community according to the case being raised. They are looking at Zendesk, but I quickly poured scorn on their knowledge base's editor! So my question is, does anyone have any idea whether it wo
I am trying to convert FM paragraph styles in my help to dropdown captions and dropdown texts in RH, but in the CSS and the style mapping dialog, there are no appropriate styles to choose. I know that the dropdown styles exist in the English version of RH, but for some reason they must have gone missing in the German version. I only found the Hyperlink styles for Dropdown-Hotspots, but I can't map those to my FM styles – I am not sure if this would be the right way to go about this anyway. Is there any way to get the dropdown styles to display in RH?Christa
I'm using RoboHelp 2017 and the HTML5 output Azure Blue. In RoboHelp 11 and earlier, we used a skin with a Show and Hide button in the toolbar. This along with some JavaScript expanded or closed all dropdowns on a given topic. Again, the buttons were in a toolbar and not part of the actual topic. Now, in the HTML5 output, I am trying to do the same thing but with no luck. I can create a show all button using Peter Grainge's "twisty2b.js" but only when I put the button inside the topic. When I place the button in the "functionholder" area (just above the topic), the button does not work.I have tried various Grainge and van Weelden scripts, put the scripts in various places and made sure the paths were correct, used all sorts of options for the button including simple onClick="show" and other things. Can anyone please help?
I've created an html/css3 page and pasted it into the RoboHelp text area for the css and body individually. While it works when I preview it in RoboHelp, IE, and Firefox using Windows 10, after it's uploaded the responsiveness doesn't work correctly from my mobile phone or ipad. Also, my co-workers who have an earlier version of windows also view a layout that is all messed up. What is causing this? (I do not want to use the HTML5 responsive layouts provided by RoboHelp.) Hi,I had created a merged project in Robohelp 8.0.2 and I wish to include a button in the main toolbar along with Contents, Search, Index, Glossary for downloading the help file in PDF format. Though I had created a custom button using the Skin editor in Robohelp, I want to know how to link the PDF file to it, so that when the user clicks the link, it has to prompt for download. I have attached a screenshot below to define the same.I had included the PDF file in Baggage files and generated the outputWhen I click the link in generated output, it opens the PDF rather than prompting to download. When I close the PDF, the contents screen goes blank/black as shown below:Is there a way to prompt for downloading the help when the user clicks the download pdf link in help?Let me know your thoughts on thisThanks & regardsPan_sel

We performed Fortify scan on our code base with updated webhelp generated from Robohelp 2017. We are seeing the below vulnerabilities in the listed files from Webhelp.1. Cross site scripting: DOM [whsch_home.htm, whskin_tw.htm, whstart.js, whtbar.js, whtopic.js ]2. Open Redirect [whsch_home.htm, whtbar.js].Please do update us if there is a fix for it.
I have created one chm file using robo help. But how do I edit it in runtime?
I have a WebHelp project created with RoboHelp 2015. I am having trouble with glossary text automatically expanding without clicking a glossary term in a topic. This appears to be associated with the Search feature. For example:Open the WebHelp output in IE or Chrome. In the Search box, type in a term or phrase (for example, "Agent")Click any of the topics returned by the search.Any topic that has a glossary term automatically displays the expanded glossary text. This should not be happening. When you open a topic, regardless of whether you found it via search, the TOC, or whatever, glossary terms should not automatically display the expanded glossary text. You should have to click the term to display the expanded text.Has anyone run into this issue? Any suggestions for how to fix it?
I am trying to type in my body and my letters are green. They will not go back to black. Why is this?
Hello,I imported a Captivate 9 project that includes an MP4 video (created using Camtasia) into my help project in Robohelp 2015 and generated a responsive HTML5 output. The Captivate project plays in the output, but the video does not appear and does not play. The video plays just fine when I publish and play the Captivate project locally. At first, I just created the Captivate project in a folder on my desktop and imported it into my Robohelp project, and when that didn't work, I tried the following:In my Robohelp project, (using Windows Explorer), I put a copy of the MP4 in the following folder:Implementation and quick start guidesI created a responsive project in Captivate with, among other content, the aforementioned MP4 video, inserted into one of the slides. (Video > Insert >browsed to the Robohelp folder where the video resides). From Robohelp, I imported the Captivate project into the same folder in which the MP4 resides. (see screen shot below)When I generate responsive
I'm a tech writer who is meeting with govt agency s/w developers to figure out the best way to upload WebHelp to an online only govt agency site software application. What do I need to provide them from my end so they can upload WebHelp to the system? What do they need to know from their end about how to upload WebHelp? Thanks,HelpAngel
I searched on a number of phrases and words and could not find anyone else with this issue, so it is probably very elementary. When I upgraded my RoboHelp last year to the most recent version, and tried to adjust my workspace to something I was comfortable with, the topic pod went full page and now stretches across the whole window. Any pods that I add to the workspace lay over the topic pod so that I have to scroll over to view all my text (you can see scroll bars and text running behind the pod in the workspace making you have to scroll to view text, and when typing it seems to go on and on with the text going off the page until it decides to wrap around to the next line). I want the pod to just show in the space allowed, not go under the Project Manager pod. I need to be able to see all the text as I type and not have it scroll over like that, so I probably need to get the topic pane to only fit to are that is available, however, I can't seem to get this to change no matter what I tr
I need to create links in my TOC to several existing PDFs that are going to be stored outside of my RoboHelp project. The problem is that these PDFs have spaces in their file names, for example: "Apples<space>Are<space>a<space>fruit.pdf"RoboHelp 2015 doesn't like the spaces and (correctly) is converting the space to %20. The problem is that the URL to get to the PDF doesn't have the %20 - it has a space. What syntax do I have to use to make my link from the TOC open up the PDF?Paul Hanson
My workflow for WebHelp 9.0.2 systems involves outputting Word docs to be used for review and revisions by the SMEs. Those docs are returned to me, I copy and paste and tweak changes, compile a new WebHelp system, and produce a new set of Word docs and the process continues anew. These projects include a lot of use-cases with a lot of screen captures. To my horror, I just recently discovered that when I copy a large section of Word text which includes images and paste that into a RoboHelp topic, RoboHelp overwrites existing image file names instead of incrementing the file names. Many of the images are new and have not been used in the WebHelp project previously. If I explicitly select just one image in Word, copy and paste that, the image file name is usually properly incremented and does not overwrite an existing file name (there were some exceptions which I haven't had time to explore yet).I’m working around that by removing all the images from the Word doc first, but this is not an
Our product requires that our online help can be kicked off when the user enters a search term into the search box integrated into the product itself. This action should launch the help package, displaying the search results (the same as if the search string had been entered into the help package's search box). We were able to do this with webhelp but now want to move to HTML5 help. Can anyone suggest how we go about passing the inputted search parameters into HTML5, please?CheersNeil Williamson
Hi guys,I would like to open a chm file in a separate window from another chm file. Both the chm files are in the same folder. Suppose one of my chm named XYZ.chm and another one is ABC.chm.Now, in my ABC.chm, I want to provide a link to open the XYZ.chm in a separate window. I tried these solutions:<a href="XYZ.chm">XYZ</a>.This does not open up anything. Then, I tried to provide link to a default topic name or home page topic in the XYZ.chm like this:<a href="XYZ.chm::/Welcome_to_Adobe.htm">XYZ</a>.This opens up a that particular topic "Welcome to Adobe" and that too in the same window of the ABC.chm.Then, I tried to provide a relative path but that too did not work. Then, I tried a local path. That did work but its not useful because it can always change. So, I am looking for a solution which is independent of the local path. Maybe, through a javascript or something if it is possible. Please help. Thanks in advance.- Jignesh
