I am using FrameMaker 2015 to author content. I imported (linked) files in RoboHelp 11 successfully. I modified the CSS and apply it to all topics before generating WebHelp.The problem is, whenever I update a file in RH (UPDDATE or UPDATE ALL), the "Preserve modifications for these files" checkboxes revert to all selected. I don't want to maintain any modifications. Is there a way to clear all check boxes on a global basis? It's really time consuming to clear them individually (I have 450 topics).Thanks in advance for your help-Lauren

We use Robohelp 10/15 to generate Webhelp (HTML) which is integrated by the development team. However, they now request '.JSP' files instead of '.HTML'.Is it possible to generate ‘.JSP’ instead of ‘.HTML’ through Robohelp.We manually changed the extensions of the webhelp generated from ‘.HTML’ to ‘.JSP’, it worked, but the links within the html files are unresponsive (which is obvious).Is there any way (or any script) in Robohelp wherein we can generate the .JSP documents without compromising the links within? Any suggestions (or alternatives to manual conversion) would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!Snl H.

Hi all,Firstly, the basic info. We're using RoboHelp 8 and publishing to Sharepoint 2010. Upgrading either of these is not an option, sadly.I have been publishing to Sharepoint from a HTML project for years without issue, but now am trying to migrate one of our other projects to be published on SP and the user keeps getting the same issue which causes the Publish to fail...I have ruled out a few issues including fixing filenames with & symbols (Sharepoint doesn't support them) and I've elevated this user to "Full control" of the target Document Library (effectively admin level permissions), but it still keeps failing part way through. If I publish the same from my PC then it works fine though. The only difference is that I have "site admin" permissions on the Sharepoint site, rather than just having permissions on the Library. I did another test on another RH project to a different Doc Library on the same site, with a different user, and they were able to publish without any issue

Hi allFacing an issue with Responsive HTML5 output whereby my Table of Contents appears across all device sizes and a range of browsers, apart from iPhone (tested on 6S, Chrome and Safari). The TOC appears as expected and fully functional on Samsung Galaxy devices I've tested but just not on iPhone.Could it be a screen size issue? Appreciate any advice/fix that you can offer, or whether others have experienced a similar thing. Happy to provide more detail.Thanks!

I have a simple test project that I'm creating with an imported Word document (also a simple document - 40 odd pages). I've done this in order to try to troubleshoot why the import isn't correctly creating new topics based on my "Heading 2" pagination setting.I've come to this (I'm new to RoboHelp) after my first importation attempt created only a single new (top-level) topic. In this case the entire content of the the document was put inside this top-level topic. I finally read enough to find out how RH does pagination/new topic creation on import and so I went ahead and set this in the import Conversion Settings dialog:However, after running the import again (in a brand new project) I see that there is still only a single resulting topic. TOC, index, etc are all created correctly, but not the topic pagination aspect. Generating the Responsive HTML5 output confirms this since search only ever returns a single result (since everything is contained within a single topic).What am I doing

We have a small help file that needs to be made available to users in the field without ready access to an internet connection. Is there a way to create a webhelp file on a USB flash drive which will autoplay when the driive is inserted into the computer?

Just an FYI.I tweeted AdobeTCS asking whether the items from bugbase had been migrated to the new Tracker issue tracking software.They advised that the items have been moved, but are not publicly visible.So that explains why the instructions from the bugbase page don't work, in case you were trying.

So I was attempting to generate the primary layout (webHelp) for a project, but nothing was happening. I then noticed that when I opened a dropdown in the last topic I worked on, the style indicator on the tool bar started changing back and forth between the actual style applied and the default Normal style. I've never encountered this before--has anyone else? Changing the style seems to have no effect.

I have several examples of programming code that have tabulated indentations in the FrameMaker documents I have inherited.But when I convert to RoboHelp, the tab stop is only recognized by a single space. What would be the best way to deal with this? There are so many examples, and sometimes there can be multiple levels. Remember, all these manuals have already been written in Framemaker, so the less I have to manipulate these samples, the better! Thanks

Is there a best practices for using a List style vs a paragraph list for bullets in the style pod with RH 2015? What is the recommendation?It appears that the samples that came with Robohelp 2015 are old and do not show any styles for bulleted lists.Then, Is the bullet icon in the ribbon tied to the list styles?

On RH 13.0.0.257 (and previous versions, as I recall), using the drop-down text editor, I have to explicitly go to Show/Hide and click Ruler for the ruler to display in the drop-down text editor for that particular parent topic. If the topic is closed and reopened, the ruler goes away. If a different topic is opened, I have to go through the same process to get the drop-down text editor ruler back for that topic. That is tedious, to say the least.Is there any way to set the ruler to show by default? Ruler is set to show for the project and always displays in topics, but does not pass through to the drop-down text editor.Thanks!Edit: Adding the Ruler to the Quick Access Toolbar does reduce significantly the number of mouse clicks. I am having issues with corrupted characters appearing in the TOC and Index for non-English languages when I create a CHM. It works fine for Chinese and Russian and other languages but not for some less common languages such as Vietnamese.The language settings are correct, but what are the other guidelines for these languages?All characters appear fine in RoboHelp, but not in the generated CHM.Thanks.

Greetings, I have two questions regarding the above-mentioned editor. 1. Is it possible to have the editor open to a pre-defined size, instead of adjusting the size after it is opened? 2. Within the editor, the Add To Dictionary option is greyed-out (RX7). How do I activate this feature? Presently I have copy the term outside the editor and then select the Add To Dictionary option. Hello,Just purchased and installed RH2017. After installation the program started as expected. but after exiting, it won't start again. No error message is shown, the process just starts and ends and  there is no trace in the event log nor any other log I know about.Anyone experiencing this? Any clue ?Thanks in advance,Jesus

We use a Master Page header to export the Title field as a Heading 1 style. This creates a pseudo Heading 1 component in each topic's header with the title of the topic automatically configured. This effectively removes the Heading 1 tags from each topic. Re-purposing the HTML file elsewhere is causing problems because it contains no Heading 1 tags. Does anyone know how to globally reverse this feature i.e. put back all the Heading 1 components including their system field/variable?

Hi,I currently use the RoboHelp HTML edition version 11. Previously we used version 7 and my client was comfortable with the Search being in alphabetical order. Is there anyway i can remove the Rank feature and have my Search alphabetically?Regards,Swati

I'm compiling a couple of projects using a batch script in which I invoke RHLC.EXE.A start page (startseite.htm) has the following mark up in it:...<body><?rh-placeholder type="header" ?><h1>...</h1>...RHLC.EXE throws a warning:The HTML tag "?rh-placeholder type="header" ?" is not a valid HTML tag (it does not begin with an alphanumeric character).The error is not visible in RH9 itself (in the output window). Could be that the HTMLHELP Preprocessor 9.0.1.262 isremoving this tag?--ChristophLet me add another thought since noone has answered yet: is it a good idea at all to use rhlc.exe to compile CHMs in batch mode? The speedup advantage is significant that's for sure (over point and click), but can I catch conditional build tags at all with this method? Or can I also invoke the preprocessor and pass it conditional build DEFINES?

Hello all,I want to create map file in my robohelp project. I am using Robohelp 11 and my layout is responsive HTML5! In project set up pod I created a Map File, then select all folders and did Auto-mapping. It automatically assigned Map# to each topic and assigned Map IDs to Topics. Finally in responsive HTML5 properties I selected my Map File under Content category and generated the project, but it seems it's not mapping. It only opens the default topic for all topics!!! Am I missing anything? Could anyone help me?Thanks,Parya

I am using RoboHelp 2017 with a Parent and three child projects which have just been upgraded from RoboHelp 11, and wondered if anyone can help with the following problems using the Responsive HTML5 layout.I need to change the screen sizes at which the output changes between Desktop/Tablet/Mobile. I understand this is simple to do in version 2015, but cannot see how to do this in version 2017.When opening the Index.html file in one of the Child projects, the black vertical bar between the TOC and the topic is not displayed, and the width of the TOC cannot be resized. In the  Master and other child projects, this bar is displayed, and the TOC can be resized. I would appreciate some advice on how to fix this as it is causing problems linking to the Help from the application. The Responsive HTML5 layout preview looks fine.Please could you explain how to turn off the display for the Index and Glossary. I understand this is simple to do in version 2015, but cannot see how to do this in

1) How can I instantly alter the topics, after generating/updating a Word-document?   I tried this with no luck, see the results in my experiment.2) How can I make sure that my ExtendScript is running only on the Word-Documents that 'Generate or Update'?   We will make projects with 20 or more linked Word-documents. So if one changes we won't run the script on all.Experiment:I have a script as following.Searching all topics within a project => cleanup all inline styling/topic.That works fine.I registered the script as an event.   (Event: postworddocupdate)   I assumed that this event would trigger from the moment a generate or an update, of a Word-document, has finished. Meaning the topics are made.Why using this option:We put multiple Word-documents in one project. Hi,I have recently installed Adobe RoboHelp 2015 (which I assume is version 12) on my new laptop. I have RoboHelp 11 on my old machine and I need to import the two projects that I have there to my RoboHelp 12.Can you please advice me on how to do this? I have zipped both my projects but it is not possible to import zip files. I have also unpacked them and navigated to the unpacked folder, but again nothing happened...I have generated ICSkin and WebHelp ouptuts before I zipped them.Thank you very much and best regards,Ivelina 

Got an error from an HTM chapter page in a RH9 project. Though the page displays fine later in the generated CHM I seed an error in the help compiler log:HHC3004: Warning: Some_filename.htm : The HTML tag  ?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?" is not a valid HTML tag (it does not begin with an alphanumeric character).Tried already with or without BOM header. Got no idea why just this file? We have hundreds of HTMs. All of them have this header - btw, is it RH adding these headers? The only thing I did was renaming the file (since it had a blank in the basename of the filename. I renamed it in the project, resulting first in a tagging of the file with a red X. Then, after renaming the file outside of RH (in the filesystem) the situation got repaired. Don't know whether the error HHC3004 only appeared after this action or if it had been there before.Anyway, how can I get rid of this obscure error?--Christoph

HTML5 Layout Customization - Ultimate Goal, Be Like Chrome HelpWorking on a new template for our division's many Help systems, using HTML5 Responsive Layout (Azure). I customized the template somewhat, using the Output Setup. When I presented the draft template to management, I was told it didn't look modern enough. As a reference, they want me to shoot for something more like Chrome's Help.First question, is how to switch the navigation pane (TOC, Index, Search, Glossary) to display on the right, instead of the left.I saw something that said this was an option for left-right language systems, but I don't see it as an out of the box option in RH2015.If someone tells me it is an option in RH2017, I will be eternally grateful! If it isn't available as a standard option, any suggestions for how to do it? We are already planning top switch to one of the new layouts so we can use the landing page / search features.Is anyone designing Help to be displayed like Chrome does it - see here:&nbsp
